By David, Joe, Tia and Hannah
OVERVIEW
Genre- Teen Crime Drama
Synopsis-
A college student with a split lifestyle. At college he's a well-behaved
student, while outside of college he would act the complete opposite,
being involved in crime
These are some similar film to the genre we have chosen.
CHARACTER
PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN
• The brand of the film is the split in the protagonists life in the; teaser
trailer, poster and magazine that’s shown in different ways.
• We really want to create interest in our character since it’s the most
exciting bit and main point of the film. That’s why the poster, magazine
idea and the teaser trailer all focus on the 2 sides of his life in attempt to
get people interested in the character. This is our unique selling point.
• This outlines the genre since his life has the aspects of crime and teen
life which fits into the teen crime drama genre.
TEASER TRAILER IDEAS
• Two characters
• One main and one extra
• Student who is good and hard working inside of college
• Bad and vandalizes outside of college
• No sound at all during college scenes (slow paced montage)
• Loud and fast music outside of college (fast paced montage)
• The sound is parallel
POSTER IDEAS
• A poster that is split down the middle to show the characters split
personality.
• One side will be a picture of him doing work.
• The other side will be a picture of him doing something bad.
• There will be the main character on the front.
• The name of the film will be at the top with the letter "L" split down the
middle of the poster like "shifty".
• Dark red filter over the picture to show his bad side and light and
colorful filter to show his good side.
This poster shows the
two different sides of our
main character.
The good side of our
main character.
The bad side of our main
character.
Goes to college
everyday, does all of his
work to the best
standard, always looks
smart, doesn’t mess
about in college.
Goes around town with
his hood up, causes
mischief, graffiti's on
walls and buildings,
pushes people and does
drugs.
Hides his bad side at
college
Hides his good side from
his mates
MAGAZINE IDEAS
• We want to have a mid shot of the main character in a hoodie with the
hood up. Then manipulate the lighting with a torch with a split at the
same angle as the poster across the face of the main character. Similar
to this with the lighting done as I explained with a brick wall background
to show his urban background.
TARGET AUDIENCE
• Exit poll data in UK shows 158 people under the age of 25 watched this film while 53
were over 25.
• Appeals to a younger audience (teenagers, early 20's)
• Relatable issues of interest – alcohol, drugs, violence, gang culture
• Main characters are teenagers- relatable through teen issues
• Our target audience will mainly be; under 25's, males, people who live in an urban
setting since this is the part of society that will be able to relate to our film.
• This data is relatable since the film features are very similar to our film idea.
▪ The younger audiences have been shown to attend cinemas more so this would help
our film in the box office as well. 15-24 year old's made up the largest proportion of
the UK cinema audience, at 31%.
