ORIGINS

What we know today as Halloween or Halloween was celebrated more than 3000
years ago by the Celts, a warrior town that inhabited parts of Ireland, England,
Scotland and France. Precisely on October 31, the Celts celebrated the end of the
year with the Samhain, a pagan festival. With European immigration to the United
States, mainly that of the Irish Catholics in 1846, the tradition of Halloween came to
the American continent. When it comes to Halloween or Halloween it is thought of
costumes, makeup, party, sweets and children; but tradition indicates that its
celebration was not always festive and joyful, and that the rituals practiced during
the night had a purifying and religious character.

THE SAINTS

The meaning of both parties is also different. While
Halloween seeks to celebrate the closeness
between the world of the living and the world of
the dead, All Saints seeks to venerate all saints
who do not have their own holiday in the
liturgical calendar. It is precisely for this reason
that it is considered that Halloween is a pagan
celebration and Todos los Santos a Christian
celebration.
