The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology organized a guest lecture on industrial robotics. The lecture was held on September 13, 2019 in the Smart Class Room. The guest speaker, Mr. Manoj Prabhakaran from AXIS GLOBAL AUTOMATION, spoke about the introduction and recent applications of robotics in industries. He encouraged final year and second year students to pursue projects and patent filings related to robotics and automation. A total of 65 students attended and benefited from the lecture.

Summary of Guest Lecture
Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a guest lecture on the topic “INDUSRTIAL
ROBOTICS” at Smart Class Room, Department of Mechanical Engineering on 13.09.2019 (Friday) -
11.00 A.M. The program was started at 11.15 A.M. and ended 12.45 P.M. The session started with
welcome address by Dr.D.Jeyasimman, Asso. Prof. & Head of Department and also introduced the
guest speaker Mr.Manoj Prabhakaran, Application Engineer, AXIS GLOBAL AUTOMATION,
AGIIT- Tiruchirappalli. Guest Speaker delivered his speech about the introduction of Robotics and
its recent applications in industries. He motivated our final year and Second year students to do
project with related to robotics and automation and also patent filing. Totally 65 students were
benefitted from this guest lecture. Mr.A.Pugzhenthi, Asst. Prof./Mech. delivered his vote of thanks
for every one present in the Guest Lecture.
