Summary of Symposium
Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a National Level Technical Symposium –
“MECHTRIX 2K19” at Freud Hall, Department of Mechanical Engineering on 27.09.2019
(Friday). The inaugural program was started at 9.00 A.M. with welcome address by
Mr.M.Thangavelu, Final Year Student and Felicitation address was given by Dr.P.K.Srividhya,
Dean Academic. Presidential address was given by Dr.S.Velusami, Vice Chancellor, PMIST and
he explained the opportunities and challenges for Mechanical Engineering students. The guest
speaker Mr.N.Murugan, Additional General Manager, Product Engineering, Bharath Heavy
Electricals Ltd, Tiruchirappalli gave Inaugural address. He motivated our Final year, Third year
and Second year students to do study the core courses in depth manner and to do industrial
projects. Totally 65 outside participants from various engineering colleges and Universities were
participated in various events including paper presentation and CAD Modelling competitions.
Totally 250 students were benefitted from this Symposium. Evening 5.00 P.M., valedictory
program was conducted with prize and certificate distribution. Valedictory address was given by
Dr.S.Senthamil Kumar, Dean FET and followed by Ms.P.Ganaga Priya, Third Year Student
delivered her vote of thanks for every one present in the Symposium.
