The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology organized a guest lecture on design tools and automation. The lecture was held on February 20, 2020 in the Smart Class Room and was attended by 67 third year mechanical engineering students. The guest speaker, Dr. S. Kumar from Sigma Leaders of Innovation, spoke about computational fluid dynamics and its applications in manufacturing industries. Students actively engaged with the speaker and found the lecture to be useful.

Summary of Guest Lecture
Our Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a guest lecture on the topic “Design Tools
and Automation” at Smart Class Room, Department of Mechanical Engineering, on 20.02.2020
(Thursday). The session program was started at 2.00 P.M. and ended 4.00 P.M for Third year
students. The session started with welcome address by Dr.D.Jeyasimman, Asso. Prof. and
introduced the guest speaker Dr. S.Kumar, Managing Director, Sigma Leaders of Innovation,
Tiruchirappalli. Guest Speaker delivered his speech about the introduction of CFD related to
Manufacturing and its recent applications in industries. The students interacted well and the
lecture was quite useful. Totally 67 students were benefitted from this guest lecture in afternoon
session. Mr.P.Srinivasan, Asst. Prof./Mech. delivered his vote of thanks for every one present in
the Guest Lecture.
