This document analyzes the performance of reactive routing protocols AODV and DSR based on the IEEE 802.11e standard through simulations using the QualNet simulator. It discusses the enhancements introduced by the IEEE 802.11e for quality-of-service (QoS) support, including the hybrid coordination function (HCF) and two access mechanisms: Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) and Hybrid Controlled Channel Access (HCCA). The study evaluates various performance metrics, such as throughput and energy consumption, highlighting the benefits of using 802.11e in wireless networks.
