- Provisional ID
- Password
- Valid email address (it should not be off professional – Use your
own email ID)
- Valid mobile number
- Bank account number
- IFSC code

Documents required for GST registration –
Proof of constitution of business:
- In case of partnership deed – partnership deed (PDF or JPEG in maximum
file size of 1 MB)
- In case of others: registration certification of the business entity (PDF and
JPEG format in maximum file size of 1 MB).
- Photograph of promoters/partners/Karta of HUF (JPEG format in maximum
file size of 100 KB).
- Proof of appointment of authorised signatory (PDF and JPEG format in
maximum size of 1 MB).

size of 100 KB).
- Opening page of passbook/statement containing the following
information:
- Bank account number
- Address of branch
- Address of account holder
- Few transaction details (PDF and JPEG format in maximum file

size of 100 KB).

- Opening page of passbook/statement containing the following
information:
- Bank account number

GST – Registration Process

Step 1 -
1. Login to www.gst.gov.in
2. Begin the application process as a “New User” or “Existing User”.
3. Use the Provisional ID and the password supplied by the state VAT
department.(If you don’t have provisional ID contact to your state
VAT department.)
4. On next page fill the details to generate OTP(One Time Password)
and subsequently, password for your login
5. On the next web page, answer the security questions —these will come
handy should you ever forget your login details.

Step 2 -
1. The details that will already be filled are :
• Legal name of business (as per PAN)
• Legal name of business (as per current tax act)
• PAN of business
• State
• Ward/Circle/Sector
2. ‘Trade Name’ can be edited, and the application should ensure that other
pending details are filled accurately.

Step 3 -
1.The next page revolves around the personal particulars of the
promoters/owners.
2.It is a straightforward process and should be a breeze for any applicant
possessing the information.
3. If the stakeholder is also the Authorized Signatory, then select the “Also
Authorized Signatory” option.

Step 4 -
1.Upon nominating yourself as the Authorized Signatory, you will have to
replicate the procedure in Step 3, using your personal
details.
2.Again, nothing technical, —just a tedious fill-in-the-blanks process
Step 5 -
1.Here is some technical part begins. For the “Principal Place of Business,”
fill in the complete official address and the official contact details and
submit documentary evidence for the same.
2.This is to be duplicated on the next web page, i.e., “Additional Places of
Business.”’.

Step 6 -
1.On the ensuing web page after completing the STEP 5, fill in the information
relating to the goods and services provided by your business.
2.On the “Goods” tab, you must include details relating to the relevant HSN
applicable to your business.
Step 7 -
1.Link the bank account on the following page after completing Step 6.
2.The next page should include details relating to the substantiation of the
application and will require a Digitally Signed Certificate or E-signature.

Step 8 -
1.The process on the applicant’s end is now complete.
2.An acknowledgement confirming your registration for GST should be
transmitted to your email and phone number within few minutes.
The enrolment procedure calls for multiple submissions of several details
for a single entity, as well as for every other body under the aegis of the
applicant. Such monotonous and duplication of study can cause clerical
errors. These can be avoided by using specialized software.
