Applying Dynamic Systems Theory Concepts And Ecological...
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze a case that involves a six year old
girl with behavior problems believed to result from past sexual abuse. Using a holistic biopsychosocial
approach during analysis should provide useful information for applying theories to show causes and
effects of her experiences and behavior. At the completion of analysis, I will have learned the
importance of knowing the whole integrated systems, how to apply dynamic systems theory concepts
and ecological perspectives when assessing a case, and how to identify strengths and limitations of
theories.

This case is about Emma. Emma was a full term baby, and because she was full term, one could
assume all her major organs were fully developed. Her brain was normal for a full term baby, as well.
One could speculate the reason she met all early developmental milestones was due to being full term.
Looking from a neurobiological perspective, we know very little about Emma s brain; however, we do
know her conduct is of concern to both her mother and pediatrician. At a crucial stage of brain
development, Emma experienced sexual abuse. One could conclude that her brain was neurologically
affected which has resulted in behavior problems due to the condition of her environment.
Psychological
It took a great deal of courage for Emma to tell her mother about the abuse, and her mother was
courageous enough to report it immediately and seek

The United States Department Of Veterans
One of the most serious problems facing all veterans today is the lack of proper healthcare. Soldiers,
sailors and airmen are leaving active duty without having proper healthcare to cover their physical or
mental injuries. The department responsible for veteran s healthcare is the Department of Veterans
Affairs. (VA) According to The department of Veterans Affairs website, The United States Department
of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government run military veteran benefit system with Cabinet level status.
It is responsible for administering programs of veterans benefits for veterans, their families, and
survivors. The benefits provided include disability compensation, pension, education, home loans, life
insurance, vocational rehabilitation, survivors benefits, medical benefits and burial benefits. It is
administered by the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The VA, who was formerly called the
Veterans Administration, was established 21 July 1930, to consolidate and coordinate government
activities affecting war veterans. The VA encompassed the functions of the former U.S. Veterans
Bureau, the Bureau of Pensions of the Interior Department and the National Home for Disabled
Volunteer Soldiers. On 25 October 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation creating a new
federal Cabinet level Department of Veterans Affairs to replace the Veterans Administration effective

Should Australia Use Nuclear Powered Submarines
The concept of a submersible boat has existed since the late 1500s, with the first working submarine
constructed in 1623 by Cornelius Drebbel (Harris 2015). Since then the complexity of submarine
technology has greatly evolved, largely due to funding by various militaries across the world. The first
two Australian Submarines were commissioned in 1914 and deployed during World War 1, with both
submarines lost during the conflict (Australian Submarine Corporation n.d.). As of 2015 the Royal
Australian Navy s submarine fleet consists of 6 Collins class submarines, but arrangements are being
made by the Government for a new state of the art submarine fleet to be constructed (McPhedran
2014). Although one of the specifications that the government has stated about their planned
submarines is that they cannot be nuclear powered, this investigation will look into whether this
guideline is necessary or suitable for the next generation of Australian submarines. The focus question
for this investigation is Would it be beneficial for Australia to acquire and use Nuclear Powered
Submarines? Submarines require a great deal of energy in order to propel itself while out at sea,
energy which is generally provided by a reactor. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In particular the amount of time a nuclear submarine can remain submerged is far superior to that of a
non nuclear powered submarine. A diesel fuelled submarine is capable of remaining submerged for
approximately one month before needing to re emerge above water, conversely a nuclear powered
submarine is capable of remaining underwater indefinitely, with the only limiting factors being the
limitations of the crew (Friedman 2011). As a result nuclear powered submarines are capable of
spending a greater amount of time on reconnaissance missions without the need to refuel or resurface

Research Paper On Nuclear Fission
What is nuclear fission? How does it work? What does it have to do with
nuclear power plants? These are a few of the many questions asked if one hasn t ever studied nuclear
power or doesn t know how a power plant works. Nuclear fission is the splitting of atoms, which in
nuclear fission is uranium atoms. A neutron is released at a targeted nucleus of uranium 235. Two or
three neutrons are released from the target nucleus along with fission products, or other nuclei, as seen
in the picture below. This process starts a chain reaction. If too many neutrons are present, the reaction
may get out of control. If too few are present, the reaction may stop.
Nuclear Fission
Nuclear fission is almost the same thing as fission, but nuclear fission has one minor difference; its
purpose is to produce energy. Fission is the main chemistry behind nuclear reactors and the power
plant as a whole. Radiation is another addition to the chemistry involved in the production of nuclear
power. The unstable atoms in the fission process give off radiation. This produces a risk in ... Show

It turns out, they re really just the opposite! The water that is used to condense the steam back into
water inside the condenser has consequently been heated in the process of cooling. Environmental
laws regulate the temperature that a Power Plant can place back into the river. The primary reason is
due to plant life. The cooling water from the condenser is sprayed into the air inside the cooling tower
and falls about 60 feet, which cools it before it is continuously recycled to condense more steam.
Water in the vapor rising from the cooling tower is replenished to the condenser cooling system using
water from the Tennessee River. The three water systems at Sequoyah are separate from each other,
and the radioactive water is not permitted to mix with other nonradioactive water

2. Sponsored programs for industry. Federal and provincial governments throughout Canada have
sponsored dozens of programs offered across Canada that were developed to help Canadian
organizations develop and enhance their competitive intelligence skills. Some of these have been
geographically focused (offered in one or more regions to help develop and enhance the local
economy) and some have been sectoral focused, providing training and intelligence assistance to
companies in multiple regions but in a specific sector.

Physician Assisted Suicide Should Be Legal
Physician Assisted Suicide A tough issue on the rise in the United States is whether or not Physician
Assisted Suicide (PAS) should be legal. Physician Assisted Suicide allows a physician to prescribe a
lethal dose of medication to a patient to end their life. However, the patient has to take the drugs on
their own. PAS would be only offered to those suffering from a terminal illness with less than six
months to live. The way these patients go about treating and or living with a terminal illness is a very
hard decision to make. This is the first time they have been given the choice of how they wish to die.
PAS is an option that allows the sick to avoid the immense pain in their final months. The issue
however, is whether this allows them to die with dignity or if it allows them to be taken advantage of.
Many Americans are diagnosed with a terminal illness each day. Hearing that kind of news and
knowing there is less than a year left to live and the quality of life would no doubt be heartbreaking.
During the last few months of a terminal patient s life they are often in tremendous pain and suffering.
Those with terminal illnesses are treated with life prolonging measures including chemotherapy and
radiation. These treatments and the illness itself often leave the patient s feeling as if they are a shell of
who they were and miserable. Numerous ailments such as certain types of cancer result in a slow,
agonizing death (Messerli, Joe). Physician Assisted Suicide allows

Sexism In Peter Pan
Three plays, five movies, and two television shows. The story of Peter Pan has lived on for over one
hundred years, dating back to the original play in 1906. Filled with mythical fairies, mermaids, and
pirates, J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan is a beloved story centering around the adventures of Peter Pan, and
the Darling Children. Wendy Darling, along with her two brothers fly to the island of Neverland, a
place that had lived in their imagination for years, but the true story is unbenounced to most everyone
who has read the text or seen the movie. How could such an innocent story have such a dark
background? A deeper look into the text shows grossly sexist ideals, dark sexual themes, and the
questionable past of the author. Possibly the most blatant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As quoted by Eyal, Barrie is at once knowing about his interest in the sexualization of children unable
to resist puns and allusions...willing to hide from his self knowledge through dismissal and humor (17)
. The reader can see examples of his dark humor as early as the second chapter when Peter introduces
himself to Wendy. As Wendy learns that his name is just Peter Pan, she believes it to be
disappointingly short, and Peter becomes very defensive about the situation (Barrie 15). While it may
seem like small childish bickering, one must keep in mind the previously stated fact that Barrie found
sexual puns humorous. The argument is a phallic innuendo, referring to the disappointment women
feel upon realizing their male partner s penis is small, while a the man is typically defensive about it.
Not only does Barrie love puns and innuendoes, but he also keeps his choice of words in mind when
he is writing. While Peter is keeping watch of Wendy while she is asleep, it is said that ...some
unsteady fairies had to climb over him on their way home from an orgy (Barrie 45). Though an orgy
may refer a wild party, more often than not it is a large party, where there is rampant sexual activity
occurring. Should Barrie have meant that the fairies were returning from a party, why not say that
instead? By using the

Warren W. Harding s Life
In a farmhouse near Corsica, Ohio, the United States twenty ninth president was born. Warren
Gamaliel Harding was the eldest of George and Phoebe Harding s eight children. In July of 1891,
Harding got married to Florence Kling. They were married for the remainder of his life. Kling, whom
had married once before, had a child from her previous marriage, but her and Warren did not have any
children together. Warren G. Harding was the president from 1921 to 1923 representing the
Republican Party. When inaugurated, he was fifty five years old. Harding did not get to finish out his
term because he died in 1923 at San Francisco. Although President Harding did not serve in the
military before his time as president, he had a rather extensive business background. After graduating
from Ohio Central College, Harding tried out several careers, like teaching, law, and the insurance
business. But he did not find anything he liked until he went into the field of journalism. Harding had
actually worked on a newspaper during his college years called Iberia Spectator. This experience
helped him later in life in his journalism career. Warren G. Harding first worked for the Marion
Mirror, but his Republican views clashed with the Democratic paper and he was fired. Later on in the
year, the Marion Star went bankrupt and with the help of his father, Harding bought out the
newspaper. His newspaper was a such a success that Warren published a weekly version of the
newspaper called The Weekly

Latin Is A Waste Of Time
Historically, Latin was often used by the Romans. Although, Latin is considered a dead language, it
can often assist careers because it s the language of law, government, logic, theology, sciences, and
more. I think TCMS should add Latin as another elective because most of our vocabulary comes from
Latin, it boosts SAT scores, and aid in the study of foreign languages.
Many argue that studying Latin is a waste of time. However, most of the English language is derived
from Latin. Statistics show that 80% of our English vocabulary is extracted from the Latin. Imagine a
young student learned the English word, father. As the child begins to progress in school, they ll
encounter challenging, abstract words with 3 5 syllables that could possibly come from the Latin word
for father: pater and patris. When they meet words such as patronize, paternalism, and expatriate, will
the young student be able to define the word? Instead of looking through the dictionary, studying Latin
is another option in which one can define a word easily and master English vocabulary. Not only will
studying Latin teach you the roots words, it can also help students ... Show more content on

According to Richard La Fleur, a progression from the University of Georgia, learning Latin will
definitely have a positive impact on SAT scores. Students who take Latin have a better chance of
outperforming non Latin students on the verbal section because Latin root words improve the ability
to infer the meaning of words derived from those roots. On a standardized test, a student s verbal,
analytic, and problem solving scores all increased after studying Latin. The study of Latin will
improve one s cognitive skills because it shapes the mind for other areas such as math. Therefore,
Latin will help master the vocabulary section and on math and logic questions and boost SAT

questions required the surveyed person to decide on scales of 1 3 or 1 4. This will allow those taking

Because the survey allows for check all that apply, some data, when compared in the situations where
the variable was a part of the all that apply question, may be confusing because information may be

Gregor Mendelian Theory Of Genetics
Genetic traits which are derived from the rules of inheritance proposed by Gregor Mendel are referred
to as Mendelian. After a series of experiments in his garden with pea plants he came to discover the
basic principles of heredity which have now formed the foundation to genetics; he noted certain traits
appeared within offspring in predictable patterns. These principles include the law of segregation
which states offspring receives an allele coding for the same trait from both parents and the law of
Independent assortment, declaring alleles passed on from parents are independent thus the inheritance
of one gene does not influence the inheritance of another gene.(Genetics generation, 2017). So if an
allele coding for blue eyes is inherited this does not influence the probability of receiving an allele
coding for blonde hair.
Mendel crossbred pea plants over many generations differing in single traits such as height and from
his observations was able to conclude that traits expressed in offspring depend on the type of allele an
individual receives from each parent because although 2alleles are inherited, only one is expressed.
His law of dominance proposes traits are either dominant or recessive; dominant traits requiring one
copy of the gene whereas recessive must have 2 copies of the allele present in order for the recessive
trait to be expressed.
He explained the disappearance of one of two the traits present in the chromosome by supposing one
of the traits to be

Gamma Rays Are The Most Interesting Wave Of The...
Gamma rays are the most interesting wave in the electromagnetic spectrum. In 1900, Paul Villard
discovered Gamma rays unexpectedly while he was conducting a radioactivity experiment
(ARPANSA). He differentiated gamma rays from x rays because he realized that gamma rays had a
greater penetration power depth through his further study and research (ARPANSA). Gamma
radiation studies revealed that they are very dangerous, but scientist also found a way to protect
against gamma radiation and many beneficial usages.
Gamma radiation is in the highest energy level of the electromagnetic spectrum (Electromagnetic
Spectrum). And the electromagnetic spectrum reveals the different types and range of radiation as well
as their wavelengths, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The research logically proved that if a person was farther away from the radiation, they would be
affected less by the bombing. The research clearly revealed why a high dose of gamma radiation was
dangerous because the bombs and explosions immediately killed people, and had many ways to
destroy person s health.
Unlike high dose of gamma radiation, a small dose of radiation had a significant and negative effects
on the victims in China. This study strongly proved that gamma radiation negatively affected the
health because the accidental Ir 192 gamma radiation caused a variety of cancer even with small doses
of radiation: .05 .65 Gy (Li). Iridium 192 is a radioactive isotope that has a half life of 73.82 days
which means that these radiations may occur rapidly. Also, the victims who were exposed to this
radiation had limited knowledge that certain machinery expelled the gamma radiation (Li). 54 people
were conducted on a 10 year test to check their health. The method was very simple because the
researchers gathered and then studied blood samples, bone marrow, and their T cell subsets (Li). The
results revealed basic clinical symptoms such as an increase in dizziness, fatigue, memory loss,
insomnia for 90.7 % of the people in the first month, but as time passed by, the study

Black Power Salute Essay

The quote Black America will understand what we did tonight by Tommie Smith was said before their

mistaken because there were a wide variety of mixed views among blacks because of what they did.
True, many received them as heroes but some also felt that they had infringed the Olympic spirit by

that the Olympics was neither the time nor the place for a silent protest like this. They were being

Sexually Transmitted Infections
In further understanding what sexually transmitted infections are one must know exactly what the
different types of sexually transmitted infections. In this case, the World Health Organization and
Wikipedia.com clearly define each type of infection: Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection
caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. In women, symptoms may include abnormal vaginal
discharge, burning during urination, and bleeding in between periods, although most women do not
experience any symptoms. Symptoms in men include pain when urinating, and abnormal discharge
from their penis. If left untreated in both men and women, Chlamydia can infect the urinary tract and
potentially lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID can cause serious problems during
pregnancy and even has the potential to cause infertility. It can cause a woman to have a potentially
deadly ectopic pregnancy, in which the child is born outside of the uterus. However, Chlamydia can be
cured with antibiotics. The two most common forms of herpes are caused by infection with herpes
simplex virus (HSV). HSV 1 is acquired orally and causes cold sores. HSV 2 is acquired during sexual
contact and affects the genitals. Some people are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms. Those
that do experience symptoms usually notice them 2 to 20 days after exposure which last 2 to 4 weeks.
Symptoms can include small fluid filled blisters, headaches, backaches, itching or tingling sensations

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia
Since the beginning of time, authors have used rhetorical strategies in order to persuade the reader of
their claims. These rhetorical strategies are used in everyday life whether people use it intentionally or
not. My purpose for writing this text is to provide you guys examples of rhetorical strategies using two
pieces of text. The first piece of text is by Edward Albee and it is titled The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia.
The text is about a family going through turmoil. Martin, a married man with a gay son, reveals that
he is in love with a goat by the name of Sylvia. His love for Sylvia ultimately ruins his relationship
with his family. The author of this book, Albee, is known for being an American playwright director.
He has written several plays about relationships and marriage. The second text is Fear and Loathing in
Las Vegas, written by Hunter S. Thompson. The text was about a guy named Raoul Duke and his
attorney reporting the race during the Mint 400. Throughout the text, both men go on a drug binge and
consume countless amounts of substances. Thompson was an American journalist who traveled across
the U.S. Although he made several pieces of work, he is best known for the type of journalism that he
conducted. He created the term ganzo which referred to his style of journalism. The term ganzo meant
that the journalist has to be an integral part of his stories. Albee and Thompson have different views of
the American dream. Albee argues that the American dream is perfect

Multicultural Counseling Critique Essay
Multicultural Counseling Critique: Counseling Utilization by Ethnic Minority College Students
Although the practice of counseling has evolved considerably since its inception, the concept of
multicultural competence remains novel. Engrossed in the lives of every clinician are underlined
biases and prejudices that act as filters in which every interaction with a clients is affected. Current
research on the topic of multicultural counseling has shown that although multicultural awareness is
on the rise there is still a remarkable gap in research regarding the use of counseling service and
outcomes for racial and ethnic minorities (Kerney,Draper, Baron, 2005). Insights such as these have
encouraged researchers to investigate multicultural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another is the potential stigma associated with the use of mental health services. Closely associated
with this stigma is the belief in seeking help from religious leaders, such as pastors, and or priest. The
authors suggest that a combination of these factors coupled with a lack of clinician multicultural
awareness, serves as a powerful force keeping individuals of ethnic and racial backgrounds from
utilizing counseling services (Kerney,Draper, Baron, 2005). Due to these factors the researchers
hypothesized that ethnic and racial minority participation in counseling services will be lower than
that of their Caucasian counterparts. Furthermore they suggest that ethnic and racial minorities will
present for counseling services with increased severity of symptomatology. Lastly researchers propose
that Caucasians students will report more positive outcomes than minority students even when
severity and number of session are controlled.
In order to test their hypothesis researchers gathered students who attended colleges that are part of
the Research Consortium of Counseling and Psychological Services, a collection of state run
institutions focused on furthering the efforts of university research. One thousand one hundred and

Emergency Nurses Act As The Front Line Of Health Care
Emergency nurses act as the front line of health care. There are many aspects of emergency nursing
that make this specialty stand out. Patient load varies, making teamwork crucial. A great extent of
knowledge on many illnesses and injuries is required to care successfully for the range of patients seen
by an emergency nurse. Triage plays a significant role in recognizing the severity of patient
complaints, but also in directing patients to appropriate areas and care providers. Screening starts in
triage, but is continuously carried out by emergency nurses in efforts to identify all the needs of their
patients. Emergency nursing also has many facets that can act as a stressor, including a feeling of
incompetence. Ethical issues are a constant battle in nursing, but emergency nurses struggle with the
use and prescription of opioids and the decision to post wait times. When compared, emergency
nurses play an important role that is unlike other nursing specialties. Improving Efficiency of Triage to
Meet the Demands of the Emergency Department Emergency nurses often care for a variety of
patients with minor injuries to critical illnesses. It is emergency nurses that frequently see patients
before physicians. This sequence makes it especially important for emergency nurses to be able to
rapidly assess and treat patients. Emergency nurses are expected to be knowledgeable in a multitude of
areas and skilled at several tasks. It is experience that typically

Haiti Voodoo Culture
Every religion is different, whether its origin is different or they have different beliefs. Voodoo is the
most common religion of Haiti. Most people misconceive the Voodoo religion as they do not know
much about their beliefs, traditions and holidays. It is a religion most known for their traditional
symbol, Voodoo dolls. Voodoo, a widely practiced religion in Haiti, is one of the most misunderstood
religions that have several traditional symbols, beliefs and rituals. Voodoo is one of the religions of

In this religion, their main worships are God and many Loas. A Loa is a God and a good spirit in the
Voodoo religion. Aside from believing in the many Loas, Voodoo is mainly a monotheist religion.
Voodooists also believe in reincarnation. To them, there is no good or bad place to go after someone
passes away. This is because they believe that they will live another life. A person s life influences
what will happen to them in their next live. For example, if someone has spent their life as a good and
honest person, they will ascend to Loa and have the opportunity and power to shape the world. Where,
if someone lived a misbehaved life, the person would live a new cycle of life and be given every
opportunity to change the outcome of what will happen to them after death. If their angry life repeats
itself, they will be physically or spiritually punished by Loa. Voodoo Loas are to be strictly broken
down into two groups, Rada Loas and Petro Loas. The Rada Loas are considered to be the good Loas
and serve creation, socialization, and life. The Petro Loas are considered to be a group of demons who
are responsible for harmful sorcery. In some cases, Voodooists believe that a Loa could be considered
both Rada and Petro, but they are usually convinced otherwise. A Voodoo Loa is a God in which
Voodooists believe in as well as an important symbol in the

Thomas Paine The Crisis Speech Summary
I embrace this opportunity to inform you of the happenings of today. My troops and I listened to a
speech given by Sir Thomas Paine by the name of The Crisis . Although it filled me with sorrow, it has
given me the purpose to fight again. Sir Paine spoke of the morality of the Tories. He recalled a story
about a Tory who spoke with a horrid expression, Well! give me peace in my day (43), and compared
it to that of a generous parent, who would speak of his children, and not selfishly of himself. If there
must be trouble, let in be in my day, that my children may have peace (45 47). Such a saying shows
how boorish a fellow must be to support the British. To repent the actions of the King, such as the
generous parent, is quite commendable.

Thomas Jefferson Vs Neoclassical Architecture
Neoclassical Architecture: Jefferson vs. Adams
Thomas Jefferson was conceived on April 13,1743 at Shadwell estate in Western Virginia. Jefferson
exceeded expectations at his reviews and prior in his profession was a nation legal advisor, he went
ahead to turning into the principal Secretary of State in America taken after by being the second VP
and afterward the third leader of the Unified States. Amid his life, Jefferson drafted many archives the
most capable among them were The Affirmation of Autonomy and The Statute of Virginia for
Religious Flexibility.
The first of the two, delineated the common privileges of people and circulated America s grievances
against Lord George III. This report generally proclaimed the opportunity of the American People
from the rule of the English crown, while the last talked about a statute of religious freedom where
there was a partition of chapel and state. In addition to writing, Jefferson likewise had a liking for
Neoclassical architecture.
Jefferson was by all account not the only individual interested with Neoclassical architecture as Robert
Adam was too. Robert Adam, dissimilar to Jefferson, was English and was conceived on July 3, 1728
at Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire in Scotland. Like Jefferson Adam was accomplished. He, nonetheless, was
prepared skillfully in architecture by his dad nearby his sibling, James Adam. Robert had the chance to
examine in Rome under the tutelage of C.L. Cleriusseu, who was likewise popular in his own
privilege.

The Importance Of Team Dynamics And Communication
Throughout my semester in SciTech, perhaps the most important thing that I took away from my
experience was the importance of team dynamics and communication in collaborative projects, and
this is particularly true in engineering fields, where it is absolutely essential to success, and, in my
opinion, significantly more important than the skill of knowledge of individual team members after a
certain point. Every team that I was part of during SciTech, the team for the semester challenge
especially, had numerous issues in cooperation and communication, and conflict repeatedly arises,
though we eventually learned how best to function together and were able to successfully complete the
challenge before D4 with a significant amount of time to spare, though we did have some issues with
time management in regard to the Final Report later. I have found that, although relevant skills to the
task at hand, proficiency with SolidWorks or a general aptitude for mechanical engineering for
example, organizational abilities, or other things of that nature, these are effectively useless without a
developer work ethic, a willingness to accept feedback and learn, the ability to effectively resolve
disputes, and good communication, all of which are immensely valuable in a collaborative setting. For
example, one of my group members spent more than a week on the quantitative analysis section of the
FDR, but I ended up having to redo large portions of it anyway (logbook 3/23), which

Over a decade ago, A 1995 Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) survey of foreign
affiliated firms in Japan (at least one third foreign ownership), found that 65.4 percent reviewed their
business as successful while just 1 percent assessed their business as unsuccessful. More than 70
percent were planning to expand their business activities over the next five years within those
successful businesses in spite of the economic crisis. The main area of expansion was sales and
marketing activities. Eighty five percent of those companies that intended to expand their Japanese
operations said sales and marketing was the primary area targeted for expansion (Banerji Sambharya,
1996). This probably reflects an understanding that in the middle of the economic difficulties, Japan s
market revolution is still creating significant opportunities. Foreign firms are coming into Japan in
record numbers. For example, huge Western superstores are coming into Japan on the tail winds of the
deregulation of large retail stores. Toys R Us had a hard time to enter Japan in 1991, but by late 1997
was posting annual sales of 100 billion yen, with 10 percent of the market. It became the leading toy
retailer in Japan. Resistance from a group of 500 small stores, which formed the Association of Toy
Specialty Stores had not been able to stop this invasion, and its membership declined to just over fifty
stores six years after Toys R Us arrived (Delios, et al. 2007).

Love In Frankenstein
Giving your child the love it deserves comes from within us. What if the child is not your biological
child? Would you treat it like it is your own? In the story of Mary Shelley you are able to read that it is
hard for Frankenstein to give his creature the love and support it needs. Frankenstein did not even
name his creature. When people hear Frankenstein they immediately think of the creature, yet the
doctor his name is Frankenstein. Is it really a mistake to think the creature as the monster, or is
Frankenstein the real monster?

His creation looks different, different from what Frankenstein has expected. The creature looks
different than all the other people. The monster looks horrific. That his creation would look like a
handsome guy? Does it really matter how your child is looking? Does it truly matter that it looks like
someone who resurrected from the death? You still need to give it the love it deserves. As a parent, it
is your job to love your child endlessly even though it makes mistakes. Frankenstein isn t a real father,
isn t a real creator. He made the creature, this means he is responsible for the creature. Frankenstein
did wrong by leaving it to his fate. It is true that monster makes terrible decisions. And that he does
murder certain people. Yet by having done this, he did get the attention from his father figure, which is
what he wanted. He needed a bit of love. And he was capable of doing anything to get this love.
It is true that the creature did take some terrible decisions. The monster killed people and it hurt
people. Yet he only did this, because he was hurt. His father figure abandoned him, no one accepted
him. If now a days people are bullied they stand up for themselves too. The monster did this as well.

Benefits Of Subsidizing Stem Classes
College is where you will find many opportunities which is why people should attend college. Many
high paying jobs are out there waiting for someone with the degree they desire to come forth. Not only
will college make you a better person, but will also take you on an unforgettable journey. Some people
may not understand the logic between right, and wrong and what is better than to learn about
philosophical ideas, if the new republic was to flourish and endure, it required, above all, an education
(Singletary 10). Subsidizing STEM classes is a bad idea because lack interest will occur, many jobs
will be at stake, and Arts would be too expensive. In the Education: Does College Still Matter short
passage, Tabarrok thought it would be best that the people who choose STEM degrees, should have
subsidized taxes. There is little justification for subsidizing sociology, dance, and English majors
(Tabarrok 5). This would not be beneficial because it discourages the people who wanted to chase
their dream career. For example, an intelligent female may want to be an English teacher, but knowing
that her journey to get that education will cost drastically more, than she will choose a different career,
leaning more into a STEM career. I think it is selfish for Tabarrak to only want a degree in STEM
while he belittles sociology, dance and English, when society needs those subjects just as much. When
those students who choose the unimportant degree path realize that their taxes

Essay on Social Organized Crime Perspective
Social Organized Crime Perspective
In some communities organized crime is as much of a social institution as other legitimate functions.
Often, the impact of organized crime can be hidden and not readily apparent to community members.
In other cases the community may come to accept the organized criminal group for the benefits they
provide. Understanding how organized crime meshes into the social fabric of a community is
important to understanding how to fight against it. Just as important to understanding the social
implications is understanding theories as to why individuals become involved in criminal activities
and how criminal organizations function.

The first thing that must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Organized crime group s further entrench themselves into the community by establishing legitimate
business interests. These legitimate enterprises provide the organized crime group an opportunity to
mask their true operations and offer covert means to launder money or hide illegal activities from
detection. The criminal group can become imbedded within the community and provide further
opportunities. Organized criminal groups can generate additional business for legitimate community
institutions, jobs, income, and services. This can become so valuable to a community that the citizens
actually accept the criminal organization and look the other way. A major reason organized crime is so
successful within communities are the corrupt ties these groups form with political and social leaders
often as a result of bribery or other favors. Organized criminal organizations become part of the social
fabric of a community. Many individuals who consume illegal services provided by these groups do
not view themselves as criminals, yet they directly support the group s criminal activities (Lyman
amp; Potter, 2007). Understanding how organized crime becomes part of a community s social
structure is valuable, but an examination of theories of organized crime is important to provide a
deeper understanding.
Applicable Theories
There are two parts to understanding the reasons for the emergence of organized crime. First it is
important to understand the structure and

Never Stop Dreaming By Harriet Tubman
Never Stop Dreaming Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within
you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. This quote
came from Harriet Tubman. Even from Harriet Tubman s time people were dreaming about making a
difference in the world. Throughout the dream unit, I have realized that dreams are what give people
the motivation in the morning to wake up. Many of the people we read or listened to had a very
determined vision of what they were going to do with their life and when they worked very hard at it,
that vision came true. With enough perseverance and persistence, dreaming is worth it, because Walt

millions of dollars. Although there is a better chance that they will get eaten by a shark, they still have

charity. If they don t achieve their first dream, who told them that they can t keep going? Keep

For the people who don t give up after they don t win the lottery come out as the stronger person.

Letters on Revival is written by The Rev. Charles G. Finney in year 1946 is series of 32 letters
addressed to Ministers of the Gospel and all interested person. It is Finney s Reflections on revival and
revival meetings, written in 1845 46, and distributed in the Oberlin Evangelist, the bi weekly official
publication of Oberlin College, where Rev. Finney was Professor of Theology and in the end,
President of the College. Finney s writing reflects a lot about revival; that it is a method for saving
souls as well as changing people and, eventually, the society. Through revivalism, the church would
introduce the millennial kingdom to the world. Finney acknowledges that revival brought good change
radically and also that Christians ought to be effectively involved in transforming all areas of
community.
This paper will aim to involve a close reading on Reflection on Revivals by Charles G. Finny, We will

Character Analysis Of The Darkness In Emma By Jane Austen
Jane Austen begins the novel Emma by stating, Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, with a
comfortable home and happy disposition, seemed to unite some of the best blessings of existence, and
had lived nearly twenty one years in the world with very little to distress or vex her (1) immediately
giving readers the impression that Emma is a young woman whom the readers should respect and
grow to love throughout the novel. As we continue reading, however, we learn that while Emma has a
respectable reputation and a circle of people who love her and want the best for her, she is extremely
flawed. In the article, The Darkness in Emma, Anita Soloway states, for Emma, beauty, cleverness,

Emma is selfish, unable to see reality as it truly is, and is impulsive, yet, because of her respectable
standing in the social class, people love her and want the best for her and think highly of her. While
discussing Emma with Mr. Knightley, Mrs. Weston states, With all dear Emma s little faults, she is an
excellent creature. Where shall we see a better daughter, or a kinder sister, or a truer friend? No, no;
she has qualities which may be trusted; she will never lead any one really wrong; she will make no
lasting blunder; where Emma errs once, she is in the right a hundred times (25). While her opinion on
Emma does recognize that she has faults and isn t perfect, those flaws are basically overlooked. Mrs.
Weston seems to believe that Emma is a blessing to everyone she encounters, and even when she
creates an issue, it s acceptable because it s assumed she ll do something great to compensate up for it.
This definitely shows what Emma s reputation is like, and how the people close to her view her. One
of Emma s main flaws is the fact that she is extremely impulsive with her actions, and she doesn t stop
to think about what she s doing until the damage is already done. This happens multiple times
throughout the novel, especially when Emma tries to play matchmaker. This is partially due to the fact
that she is unable to see reality clearly, which is what happens during her attempt at bringing Harriet
and Mr. Elton together.

Periodontal Disease Case Studies
During your biannual dental checkup and cleaning, your dental hygienist or dentist will perform a
periodontal examination to determine if you have periodontal disease.
The Periodontal Examination
A small, specially designed instrument (periodontal probe) is used to measure the space (sulcus)
between each tooth and its gum. A healthy sulcus depth measures no more than 3 millimeters and will
not bleed. If an individual has periodontal disease and neglects to seek treatment, the pockets between
the teeth, and gums usually deepen.

Tooth mobility and sulcus depth, in conjunction with the amount of inflammation and/or bleeding an
individual is experiencing, determines which stage of periodontal disease he or she has.

If the disease is caught during the first stage (gingivitis) and no damage has occurred, Dr. de la Torre

Los subsidios en las Finanzas públicas de países subdesarrollados
Hoy en día las finanzas públicas en países en vías de desarrollo gastan más en subsidios que en tratar

Only a few miles from Poland s second largest cities, Krakow, lies a nearly barren field with only a

1941 and 1945, thousands of enemies of the Nazi party, primarily Jews, were worked, starved, died of

shot, then covered over with a layer of dirt. The primary site of these executions was known as
Hujowa Gorka, which, translated in Polish, means Prick Hill . Sometimes entire truckloads would be
shot and covered over, just increasing the size of the hill. If one survived the entry into the camp, the
survival rate was incredibly low. This was partially due to the basic state of the camp, with a very low
amount of food given to the prisoners and diseases such as typhus commonly spreading, and partially

President Lincoln Analysis
This film is directed by Robert Redford. This is the anecdote about the gathering of people who
schemed with John Wilkes Booth to kill President Lincoln. A young fellow Frederick Aiken returns
back to Washington, D.C. in the wake of battling in the Civil War on the Union side. He leaves the
military to be a non military personnel legal counselor by and by, similar to he was before the war. He
is gotten to know by a Senator from Virginia, Reverdy Johnson who is additionally a lawyer. The
Senator requests that he safeguard a lady who is blamed for scheming, to murder President Lincoln,

He gets a common trial, not a military one, and can t be indicted by a jury of his associates. It is an
ambivalent closure since it is sure his mom was far less blameworthy of connivance than he was. It isn

present day in which several prisoners at Guantanamo still grieve in jail without trial, where a U.S.
national, associated with fear monger exercises, is focused for a death endeavor without having been
accused of, not to mention indicted, any wrongdoing, and where the perfect of due process and the
assumption of blamelessness is gradually being supplanted by boundless brutality, the disavowal of
lawfulness, and the undermining of majority rule government. Fascinating to me is putting aside any

says close to the finish of the film. Thus The Conspirator sets up a contention between the individuals
who love the law or the individuals who think it was composed, and the individuals who trust that,
now and again, the law must assume a lower priority for more note worthy s

Imapct of History on Japanese Culture Essay
Introduction Japanese culture is very unique. It is a culture that has stirred many outsiders curiosity
throughout history because of a level of mystery that surrounds it. It is a culture that many admire.
The reasons behind the mystery and uniqueness of Japanese culture to outsiders is due in part to the
unique history that have made it what it is today. Because Japan is a chain of islands its culture has
developed in an atmosphere of isolation and control to a certain extent. Over the history of Japan,
layers of cultural development can be seen where outside influences were either adapted or shielded
from the culture. There are three very influential layers created by the Age of Reform (AD 552 710),
the Meiji Period (1868 1912), and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buddhism and Shintoism developed and exist together peacefully throughout most of Japan s history.
(National Geographic Society, 2010) During the Age of Reform Emperor Temmu set the precedent for
future Japanese emperors by setting himself up as the Heavenly Emperor. In doing this, he linked the
position of emperor to having a higher power. Emperor Temmu set the foundation for what is known
as the classical age of Japan which includes the Nara and Heian Periods.
Nara Period With the Nara Period (AD 710 794) came a permanently located capital city, carefully
organized into a grid of streets. This new capital created a stability in which culture could flourish.
The first known collection of Japanese poems, Manyoshu, or Ten Thousand Leaves was created.
Buddhism became the focal religion and many shrines were built. During the Nara period the aesthetic
seen clearly in modern Japanese culture started to develop, stemming from the Buddhist idea of
sensitivity to things . (National Geographic Society, 2010)
Heian Period The Heian Period (AD 794 1185) is known for the development of the Samurai warrior
culture. Prince Genji, known as the Shining Prince is documented in The Tale of Genji, by Lady
Murasaki Shibuku. Courtly elegance is appreciated and adds an attention to detail to Japanese culture.
Both Buddhism and Shintoism infuse culture with a focus on and admiration of nature. The distinct
changes in seasons influence a

  • 2. Applying Dynamic Systems Theory Concepts And Ecological... Introduction The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze a case that involves a six year old girl with behavior problems believed to result from past sexual abuse. Using a holistic biopsychosocial approach during analysis should provide useful information for applying theories to show causes and effects of her experiences and behavior. At the completion of analysis, I will have learned the importance of knowing the whole integrated systems, how to apply dynamic systems theory concepts and ecological perspectives when assessing a case, and how to identify strengths and limitations of theories. Biopsychosocial Assessment Biological This case is about Emma. Emma was a full term baby, and because she was full term, one could assume all her major organs were fully developed. Her brain was normal for a full term baby, as well. One could speculate the reason she met all early developmental milestones was due to being full term. Looking from a neurobiological perspective, we know very little about Emma s brain; however, we do know her conduct is of concern to both her mother and pediatrician. At a crucial stage of brain development, Emma experienced sexual abuse. One could conclude that her brain was neurologically affected which has resulted in behavior problems due to the condition of her environment. Psychological It took a great deal of courage for Emma to tell her mother about the abuse, and her mother was courageous enough to report it immediately and seek ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is administered by the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The VA, who was formerly called the Veterans Administration, was established 21 July 1930, to consolidate and coordinate government activities affecting war veterans. The VA encompassed the functions of the former U.S. Veterans Bureau, the Bureau of Pensions of the Interior Department and the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. Since then the complexity of submarine technology has greatly evolved, largely due to funding by various militaries across the world. The first two Australian Submarines were commissioned in 1914 and deployed during World War 1, with both submarines lost during the conflict (Australian Submarine Corporation n.d.). As of 2015 the Royal Australian Navy s submarine fleet consists of 6 Collins class submarines, but arrangements are being made by the Government for a new state of the art submarine fleet to be constructed (McPhedran 2014). Although one of the specifications that the government has stated about their planned submarines is that they cannot be nuclear powered, this investigation will look into whether this guideline is necessary or suitable for the next generation of Australian submarines. The focus question for this investigation is Would it be beneficial for Australia to acquire and use Nuclear Powered Submarines? • 6. Research Paper On Nuclear Fission What is nuclear fission? How does it work? What does it have to do with nuclear power plants? These are a few of the many questions asked if one hasn t ever studied nuclear power or doesn t know how a power plant works. Nuclear fission is the splitting of atoms, which in nuclear fission is uranium atoms. A neutron is released at a targeted nucleus of uranium 235. Two or three neutrons are released from the target nucleus along with fission products, or other nuclei, as seen in the picture below. This process starts a chain reaction. If too many neutrons are present, the reaction may get out of control. If too few are present, the reaction may stop. Nuclear Fission Nuclear fission is almost the same thing as fission, but nuclear fission has one minor difference; its purpose is to produce energy. Fission is the main chemistry behind nuclear reactors and the power plant as a whole. Radiation is another addition to the chemistry involved in the production of nuclear power. The unstable atoms in the fission process give off radiation. This produces a risk in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It turns out, they re really just the opposite! The cooling water from the condenser is sprayed into the air inside the cooling tower and falls about 60 feet, which cools it before it is continuously recycled to condense more steam. • 8. Physician Assisted Suicide Should Be Legal Physician Assisted Suicide A tough issue on the rise in the United States is whether or not Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) should be legal. Physician Assisted Suicide allows a physician to prescribe a lethal dose of medication to a patient to end their life. However, the patient has to take the drugs on their own. PAS would be only offered to those suffering from a terminal illness with less than six months to live. The way these patients go about treating and or living with a terminal illness is a very hard decision to make. This is the first time they have been given the choice of how they wish to die. PAS is an option that allows the sick to avoid the immense pain in their final months. The issue however, is whether this allows them to die with dignity or if it allows them to be taken advantage of. Many Americans are diagnosed with a terminal illness each day. Hearing that kind of news and knowing there is less than a year left to live and the quality of life would no doubt be heartbreaking. During the last few months of a terminal patient s life they are often in tremendous pain and suffering. Those with terminal illnesses are treated with life prolonging measures including chemotherapy and radiation. • 14. Gregor Mendelian Theory Of Genetics Genetic traits which are derived from the rules of inheritance proposed by Gregor Mendel are referred to as Mendelian. After a series of experiments in his garden with pea plants he came to discover the basic principles of heredity which have now formed the foundation to genetics; he noted certain traits appeared within offspring in predictable patterns. These principles include the law of segregation which states offspring receives an allele coding for the same trait from both parents and the law of Independent assortment, declaring alleles passed on from parents are independent thus the inheritance of one gene does not influence the inheritance of another gene.(Genetics generation, 2017). So if an allele coding for blue eyes is inherited this does not influence the probability of receiving an allele coding for blonde hair. Mendel crossbred pea plants over many generations differing in single traits such as height and from his observations was able to conclude that traits expressed in offspring depend on the type of allele an individual receives from each parent because although 2alleles are inherited, only one is expressed. His law of dominance proposes traits are either dominant or recessive; dominant traits requiring one copy of the gene whereas recessive must have 2 copies of the allele present in order for the recessive trait to be expressed. The Importance Of Team Dynamics And Communication Throughout my semester in SciTech, perhaps the most important thing that I took away from my experience was the importance of team dynamics and communication in collaborative projects, and this is particularly true in engineering fields, where it is absolutely essential to success, and, in my opinion, significantly more important than the skill of knowledge of individual team members after a certain point. Every team that I was part of during SciTech, the team for the semester challenge especially, had numerous issues in cooperation and communication, and conflict repeatedly arises, though we eventually learned how best to function together and were able to successfully complete the challenge before D4 with a significant amount of time to spare, though we did have some issues with time management in regard to the Final Report later. I have found that, although relevant skills to the task at hand, proficiency with SolidWorks or a general aptitude for mechanical engineering for example, organizational abilities, or other things of that nature, these are effectively useless without a developer work ethic, a willingness to accept feedback and learn, the ability to effectively resolve disputes, and good communication, all of which are immensely valuable in a collaborative setting. For example, one of my group members spent more than a week on the quantitative analysis section of the FDR, but I ended up having to redo large portions of it anyway (logbook 3/23), which ... Over a decade ago, A 1995 Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) survey of foreign affiliated firms in Japan (at least one third foreign ownership), found that 65.4 percent reviewed their business as successful while just 1 percent assessed their business as unsuccessful. More than 70 percent were planning to expand their business activities over the next five years within those successful businesses in spite of the economic crisis. The main area of expansion was sales and marketing activities. Eighty five percent of those companies that intended to expand their Japanese operations said sales and marketing was the primary area targeted for expansion (Banerji Sambharya, 1996). This probably reflects an understanding that in the middle of the economic difficulties, Japan s market revolution is still creating significant opportunities. Foreign firms are coming into Japan in record numbers. For example, huge Western superstores are coming into Japan on the tail winds of the deregulation of large retail stores. Toys R Us had a hard time to enter Japan in 1991, but by late 1997 was posting annual sales of 100 billion yen, with 10 percent of the market. It became the leading toy retailer in Japan. Resistance from a group of 500 small stores, which formed the Association of Toy Specialty Stores had not been able to stop this invasion, and its membership declined to just over fifty stores six years after Toys R Us arrived (Delios, et al. 2007). ... Many high paying jobs are out there waiting for someone with the degree they desire to come forth. Not only will college make you a better person, but will also take you on an unforgettable journey. Some people may not understand the logic between right, and wrong and what is better than to learn about philosophical ideas, if the new republic was to flourish and endure, it required, above all, an education (Singletary 10). Subsidizing STEM classes is a bad idea because lack interest will occur, many jobs will be at stake, and Arts would be too expensive. In the Education: Does College Still Matter short passage, Tabarrok thought it would be best that the people who choose STEM degrees, should have subsidized taxes. There is little justification for subsidizing sociology, dance, and English majors (Tabarrok 5). This would not be beneficial because it discourages the people who wanted to chase their dream career. For example, an intelligent female may want to be an English teacher, but knowing that her journey to get that education will cost drastically more, than she will choose a different career, leaning more into a STEM career. I think it is selfish for Tabarrak to only want a degree in STEM while he belittles sociology, dance and English, when society needs those subjects just as much. Organized criminal groups can generate additional business for legitimate community institutions, jobs, income, and services. This can become so valuable to a community that the citizens actually accept the criminal organization and look the other way. A major reason organized crime is so successful within communities are the corrupt ties these groups form with political and social leaders often as a result of bribery or other favors. Throughout the dream unit, I have realized that dreams are what give people the motivation in the morning to wake up. Many of the people we read or listened to had a very determined vision of what they were going to do with their life and when they worked very hard at it, that vision came true. Where shall we see a better daughter, or a kinder sister, or a truer friend?
