Paleo Diet Research Paper
As its name suggests, the Paleo Diet gets its inspiration through the Paleolithic era, when man
survived like a hunter gatherer. The diet, originated by Loren Cordain, health professor with the
Colorado State University, is dependant on a radical distinct thought. Professor Cordain argues that
considering that the human genome hasn t evolved over the last 50,000 years possibly even, there
exists reason to imagine that this most natural diet for man is what his caveman ancestors ate. In other
words, once and for all health one should survive on fish, meats and eggs from grass fed and naturally
raised livestock, vegetables, roots, fruits and berries, seeds and nuts.
Directly because of this hunter gathering style the cavemen obviously led healthier lifestyles. We often
pile preservatives and chemicals into the body which are not around more than 100 years ago. Day by
day the recognition of paleo diet foods and the diets including them are becoming more and more
popular. Athletes seem to such as the extreme detox from the Paleo Diet and they are increasing it s
popularity.

Dallas Cowboys Job
I have dreamed of becoming a team manager for the NFL team Dallas Cowboys. Initially, I wanted to
pursue a career in team management. Being a team manager, I would work to develop relationships
between the coaches and players. An important part of that would also be working with parents of the
athletes and protecting the career path of each player. I think it would be an excellent opportunity to
share my history and knowledge of athletics as well as personal experiences. The thrill of controlling
all the teams finances and coaching staff is something I have always dreamed of. Being able to live
my mark on the team forever. But before I can leave my mark I have to beat out the owner of the team
jerry jones. Jerry jones has have been the owner of the cowboys since 1989 where he purchased the
cowboys for 140 million. The past owner Harvey Roberts Bright who made a 55 million dollar profit
from when he bought the cowboys in 1984 for 85 million from where he sold it years later. Soon after
Jerry Jones bought the cowboys he proceeded to fire longtime coach Tom landry and then a couple
months after that he fired general manager Tex Schramm. The reason being a general manager for the
cowboys is my dream job is because since I was little I ve loved money, power, and being in charge.

Crystallization, Sugar, and Fudge Lab Report
Introduction:
Controlled crystal formation is important to acquire a certain texture in crystalline candy. Crystalline
candies are smooth, creamy, and easily chewed with a definite structure of small crystals that resemble
tiny snowflakes. Examples of crystalline candies are fondant, fudge, and penuche. When a
concentration of sugar is higher than 121 degrees Celsius, it is an amorphous or non crystalline candy,
these are candies formed from a sugar solution that does not crystallize such as peanut brittle, and
caramel. The purpose of this lab is to understand how temperature influences the texture, and firmness

hard to chew, and suck to our teeth. It was extremely molar impacting. The reason for the yellow
glossy color and large crystals was because we over cooked the fondant. It was more like a rock candy
then a fondant. The reason why we believed it turned into an amorphous candy was because the

Comparison Of Oroonoko And Othello
Despite the obvious differences in Oroonoko and Othello, Othello being a play written in 1603 by
William Shakespeare and Oroonoko being a novel written in 1688 by Aphra Behn, the main characters
are both black men living in white societies. Throughout their journeys, Othello and Oroonoko
experience tragedies that result in the ending of their lives. Although their deaths are far from similar,
in both the reasoning and the action, the implications are comparable. Both men were pushed to the
point of no return by the influence of the people who surrounded them. Oroonoko and Othello s
violent deaths, although vastly different, represent the degradation of their respectful societies moral

After doing good business with the English ship captain for so long, a system of trust was developed
between the two, or so Oroonoko thought. The captain then proceeded to kidnap Oroonoko and lie
about his reasoning behind his actions. The deal was that the captain would set ...[Oroonoko] ashore in
the next land they should touch at (Behn 35) and gave him his word. This did not happen, instead he
was sold into slavery and the captain s word, which rested on the Christian religion, became
meaningless. The manipulation of Oroonoko by the white man (the colonizers) continued throughout
Behn s novel. After the rebellion failed, Oroonoko s life was in jeopardy, yet he still did not back
down even when all imaginable respect shall be paid to you [Oroonoko], and yourself, your wife, and
child...shall depart free out of our [colonizer s] land... live by surrendering yourself (Behn 62 63).
Once he saw the white man go against his word, his trust in all white men was eliminated. Oroonoko
was right to disregard anything that the colonizers said to him at that moment because he was
sentenced to death and he would have never been set free like he hoped. Out of fear that his child
would be born into slavery, and that once he was gone, his wife be treated unjustly, Oroonoko did the
only thing that he could to save his family, which was murdering Imoinda. She was accepting of this
fate and wished for

At Night My Lost Memory Of The Beloved Poem Analysis
Faiz Ahmed Faiz writes: At night my lost memory of you returned / I was like the dying patient who,
for no reason, smiles. Of course, the night has been the time when people become vulnerable of their
thoughts and their painful past experiences. In the mid 1900s, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, delves into these
painful nights, where he reminisces about his beloved and longs for it, usually shown in his poetry.
Consequently, Faiz Ahmed Faiz uses three literary devices in many ways to portray the true subject of
poetry, based on him, which is the loss of the beloved. Specifically, Faiz uses emotional language,
hyperbole, and allegory to illustrate the theme of the loss of the beloved. Certainly, Faiz Ahmed Faiz
uses emotional language in different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This dark setting and mood work together to further emphasize the pain after losing a love one.
Moreover, he also uses abstract emotional language to create the melancholy mood, reinforcing the
theme of loss and the desire of the beloved. Faiz uses emotional language that is abstract to show
desired emotions and the search of hope. For instance, he writes during the spring nights, fill your
heart to the brim, and your eyes / too, / with longing and desire (551). The abstract emotional language
in this quote, longing and desire work together to construct the hope for his loss of the beloved. In
addition, in this quote, there is an exaggeration of being able to replete the heart with ideas, which is
not possible; because the whim comes from the mind, not the heart. Therefore, this hyperbole adds an
extra effect to amplify the duration of the longing for the loved one to further develop the theme of
loss of the beloved. Hence, while emotional language contributes to the mood to enhance the theme, it
is also the building blocks of hyperbole, an exaggeration of ideas. At the same time, Faiz utilizes
hyperbole in a variety of ways to further portray the loss of the beloved. He uses hyperbole when
describing his emotions that is not only affecting him emotionally, but physically too. Considering, he
has no courage to look at the hurtful memories again, however, a pain in

Mountainview Country Club Essay
The Mountainview Country Club is going through serious issues of undisciplined board members who
either care about the clubs agenda or lack thereof, others are too busy to notice any of the issues and

of 3 general managers in the course of 10 years, Chris has assessed the situation that the club has been
facing and it is a total mess. When Chris asked President Fisher about the simple agenda and if the
new board members where given a proper orientation, it seemed that the President did not like to be
questioned and became a little defensive on the way he ran the board meeting. As the President of the
club it does not look like he is not interested in change even if it is blatantly clear that things are not

Reb Cherosen Quotes With Page Numbers
In today s world, knowledge is useless without the wisdom to apply it to real life situations. The great
biblical author, King Solomon, once wrote, How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight
rather than silver! (Proverbs 16:16). Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good
judgment. In Chaim Potok s novel The Chosen, the main characters Reb Saunders and David Malters
display their immense wisdom when raising their children. In addition Danny Saunders also shows
wisdom with the way he handles his friendship with Reuven Malters. The theme of wisdom exists
throughout the chosen but, it remains mostly evidenced by the characters Reb Saunders, Danny
Saunders, and David Malter.
The personal quality of wisdom is represented by the character Reb Saunders. Possessing wisdom
requires not only knowledge and experience but it also requires good judgment in tough situations.
One example of his wisdom occurred over the span of his time raising his son, Danny. In this instance
he explains how possessing great intellectual intelligence but no soul can be an extremely hazardous
life to live. Better I should have no son at all than to have a brilliant son who had no soul (285). Only
wanting the best for his only son, Reb Saunders raised Danny in way that he would have a soul in

Corrupt Leaders In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
Corrupt leaders. To follow? Or not to follow?
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. Abraham
Lincoln. Once you give a man power, it all goes downhill from there. In The Lord of the Flies by
William Golding, there is one group of boys on an island. The boys elect one chief, Ralph, but another
bigun thinks he s a better chief. So the other boy, Jack, leaves and forms a new tribe with most of the
boys. After a little bit of time, the groups begin to fight resulting in a couple of tragic deaths. Why
would people follow a corrupt leader like Jack? They follow them because they feel like the new
leader can help them better than the old one; they think that the leader or ruler can provide for them
and it doesn t matter who that leader is, they will follow them because there s no one else to follow.
One reason that people will follow a corrupt leader is that the people will look for anyone else to leave
them other than their current leader. All at once, Robert was screaming and struggling with the
strength of the frenzy. Jack had him by the hair and was brandishing a knife behind him was Roger,
fighting to get close. The chant rose ritually, as at the last moment of a dance or a hunt (114). Even
though Jack was hurting one of his friends, they still wanted to follow him because he could protect
them and Ralph could not. Jack was also the only other boy who could lead them. A second example
of this is Why do you hate

Women In Post-Civil War America
In post Civil War America, there were two main groups facing discrimination and hardship, despite
the rapid rate of the country s expansion. These two groups were Native Americans and women.
American western expansion made the conflict with Native Americans practically inevitable. Henry
Clay even went as far as stating that their complete disappearance from the human family would be no
great loss to the world . The westward movement and territorial expansion from the Louisiana
Purchase created a devastating loss to the indigenous peoples. The settlers were ignorant and
mistreated the natives and their entire culture. It was assumed by the settlers that any land they may
stumble upon that seemed empty or unsettled by their own colonized standards was up for the taking
and now theirs to have. They forced their religious beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Innumerable amounts of indigenous people and tribes were double crossed by white settlers in treaties
with the use of the basically fraudulent legal proceedings. Indigenous people were not held to the
same social standings as most Americans and were constantly belittled and taken advantage for the
sake of American advancement.
Women in post Civil War times were also dealing with the unreasonable limitations of American
democracy . Women were not even allowed to vote let alone hold many rights in a social standpoint.
Women enacted many suffrage movements fighting for their right to vote and have their voices heard.
Temperance movements aimed to completely thwart, or at least moderate, drinking alcohol. Though
these movements both suffered daunting opposition, women quickly became the face of social reform.
Even though they still did not have many basic rights, they made advances in education, teaching.

Correlation Between Earnings And Share Prices Essay
Question 1
The diagram illustrates the studies by Beaver, Clarke and Wright (1979) and Foster, Olsen and Shevlin
(1984). The studies are based on the Ball Brown study regarding the relationship between earnings
and share prices. This diagram shows that the size and sign of unexpected Earnings per Share (EPS) is
related to the sign and size of cumulative Abnormal Return (AR).
The graph represents the portfolio in ranking order based on the forecast error and EPS. There are 10
portfolios in which the first portfolio has the most negative forecast error and EPS while the tenth
portfolio has the most positive forecast error and EPS. This means that Portfolio 1 is the worst
performing firm in regarding the earnings (most negative share price reaction) while Portfolio 10 is
the best performing firm (most positive share price reaction). Based on the fourth and fifth portfolio,
the share reaction is very small. The negative abnormal return in portfolio 4 is pretty much negligible
and the same can be said in portfolio 5 where there is only a slight positive share price reaction. This
is due to the fact that the information is not too much of a surprise for the shareholders to react hugely.
Therefore, it can be said that from portfolio 1 to 4, they are the bad news firms while portfolio 5 to 10
are the good news firms.
In conclusion, the hypothesis made by the studies is proven to be correct. The firm with the most
negative forecast error and EPS has the most negative AR and

Abstract
Hofstede s model (1980) has been used widely in research in the past two decades. The culture based
model consists of four dimensions: power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism collectivism,
and masculinity femininity. Each of these dimensions was identified through the use of group level
data collected from IBM branches in 40 different countries. Despite the contributions of the model to
cultural research, it has faced many criticisms over the years. Some in principle ... Show more content

Power distance, which is typically measured at a national or collective level, must also be
an
measured at an individual level. The reasoning behind this clarification is that a country
na
as a whole may exhibit high power distance, but the distribution of individuals within the country
typically follows a normal curve. Primarily, some people will be extremely high or low on power
distance, but the majority center around the intermediate levels of power distance. Despite the
difference between national and individual levels of power distance, the individual does influence the
national level. In a study done by Maznevski,
DiStefano, Gomez, Noorderhaven, and Wu (2002), it was found that when cultural data was first
gathered at the individual level then aggregated to the national level, there was a
Hofstede 5 difference in means between countries. This indicates that, the average individual level
of power distance will be higher in a country that is ranked high on power distance. So what exactly
influences the individual level of power distance? Such aspects as age, where you grew up, and if you
moved away from the country help to determine each individual s level of power distance (Triandis,
2004; Yamada Singelis, 1999). The idea of individual and national levels of analysis presented for
power distance also holds true for the remaining three cultural dimensions.
M
The second dimension is uncertainty avoidance.

Unit 1 Case Study Biometric Security
Biometric technologies have existed for quite some time. Recently, there has been a large increase in
the demand for more secure ways of confirming an individual s identity. Resulting from this, several
tests were created, which allow for a user to test another individual s personal characteristics and
behaviors, comparing them with the original. This allows for testing who an individual is , versus what
they know or carry. Biometric is defined as automated recognition of individuals based on their
biological and behavioral characteristics (biometrics institute). This is also a more reliable source of
verification because the user cannot simply lose their human characteristics. They also cannot be

capabilities their clients consider essential in their specific environment. From a dangerous armed

II. Literature Review
Overview of Private Security Forces
There is a clear consensus among researchers that private military forces have taken part in national
and international conflicts for centuries, with the earliest instance of mercenary type forces reaching
back to around 1500 BC (Bayley, p 15; Herbst, p 282 289; Phelps, p 830). In this case, using the
definition of mercenary as an individual hired to support a foreign army (Dictionary.com),
disambiguates the confusion with private security forces as security contractors working for an
independent company offering military or security related services (Fulloon, p 29). Therefore, private
military forces of today are not true mercenaries, yet the action and purpose of deploying private
forces to bridge workforce and security gaps is relevant to historical times.
In the Post Cold War era, the private military and security forces of today are known as Private
Military Companies (PMC) and Private Security Companies (PSC), among other variants of similar
names. (For simplicity, I will refer to them as PSC or PSCs.) PSCs come in all shapes and sizes, from
large companies with over $12 billion in revenue employing over 600,000 people globally, to small
companies with a single focus area who support one contract in one country.
These legal, formal businesses deploy people all around the world to work in austere environments,
for example undeveloped, underdeveloped, war torn, or

The Causes Of The Korean War
Korea existed under Japanese control from 1910 until the end of World War II in 1945. After the war,
the Korean Peninsula was divided into two states along the 38th parallel. The Soviet union controlled
the communist north while the United States controlled the nationalist and anti communist south.
Soviet general Terentii Shtykov established the Provisional People s Committee for North Korea in
1946 and Kim Il sung became chairman. Shtykov broke North Korea s stratified class system,
nationalized critical industries, and as a result many fled to the south. Later that year, South Korean
citizens resisted the rule of the Allied Military Government and continued to resist despite violent
opposition until they declared their statehood in May 1948. Shortly after this, The Democratic People
s Republic of Korea was established, and Kim Il sung became the premier leader. Shtykov suspected
President Syngman Rhee of South Korea was planning an attack on North Korea, and so with the help
of Jospeh Stalin, North Korea launched an attack on South Korea on June 25th, 1950. This started the
Korean War, which was essentially a proxy war between America and the Soviets. The United Nations
force (led by the United States) assisted South Korea in the war. China assisted North Korea, and
would continue to follow this pattern of allying with North Korea until modern day. The war ended on
July 27th, 1953. An agreement was signed that restored the original boundary along the 38th parallel.

Research Paper Rough Draft
My scientifically accurate sci fi paper is going to be about a new space mission gone wrong. The
space program will have just finished a new rocket and space shuttle with better propulsion systems so
that the shuttle can move faster and use less energy. The astronauts on the mission are a small crew
each with a specialty that will help them on the mission. The mission is supposed to be exiting our
solar system and then coming back in with a stop at Jupiter. The launch goes smoothly and the new
propulsion allows the crew to travel very quickly, relatively speaking, to outside the solar system. On
the way back they stop at Jupiter and do some more research. On the last leg of the mission the crew

If we can make all these systems, the next question is how do we get them all on the space shuttle in
the most efficient manner. As I briefly talked about before, NASAs Food Systems Engineering
Facility has already made progress on developing the most effective packaging for food. Missions
started off having bite sized cubes of food, powders, and aluminum tubes of semi liquids. Now,
astronauts use trays that can be attached to them or walls and hold food packages. The food packages
themselves have been redesigned to be as compactible as possible with the new trash compactor on
board the missions. Rehydratable food packages are made from flexible material to let it compress,
with Velcro on the bottom to attach it to the trays. Beverages also have been changed. Many started off
being a square polyethylene package, but are now foil laminate. Each has a septum adapter for after
the powder has been added so that it connects to the galley water dispenser for more water. It also

amongst all generations. The American Psychology Association rates the top three causes of stress as
money, work, and family responsibilities.Though stress has become more common amongst the
population, knowing how to cope seems to be less known. Through education and applying coping

There are many different methods that can be applied to reduce the tension. It is vital to reduce and
manage stress because stress can lead to high blood pressure, heart attacks, higher levels of
depression, and more. However, one of the most effective coping strategies you can complete is
finding emotional support. Emotional support can make quite the difference, 26% of those with
emotional support report that their stressed increased in the past year compared to 43% of those with
no emotional support. (APA) In addition to emotional support, focusing on yourself is an important
skill. Focus on making sure you get a healthy meal, having quiet time, or just time to make yourself
feel comfortable. Similarly, exercise can make you feel more at ease. (APA) Exercise chemically
affects the brain releasing good endorphins making you feel better. Some exercises can reduce heart
rate and blood pressure leading to less stress hormones in the body. (U Line) Overall, we see the
harms of stress, but we also can find ways to cope with the inevitable tension.
In conclusion, stress is a part of everyday life. There are many triggers that can cause stress that can
alter different aspects of our lives, much like money. These triggers can disturb our family and even
our work lives. However, knowing how to positively cope with the tension can make all the
difference. Positive coping skills can reduce the risk of heart

All high schoolers face the same daunting problem. What they are going to do with their lives. A
choice made as an 18 year old, determines future paths for the rest of their lives. Recently the subject
of going to college and getting a four year degree has become very controversial. HIgh school students
are choosing other alternatives, such as trade school, community college, or even not getting any
further education at all. However even with many other options, going to college and getting a
bachelor s degree is valuable for everyone. Going to college and getting a four year degree earns
individuals more money. Those people make 98% more an hour than those without degrees.
(Leonhardt 1) Over the course of a lifetime, a person with a bachelor s degree will make 1.1 million
dollars opposed to average of 393,000 over a lifetime of someone without a bachelor s degree. (Hamm

The Invention Of Black Holes
Black Holes:
Introduction:
Without knowing the existence of black holes, we would still be stuck with many unanswered
questions concerning physics. The most important one would deal with the correctness of Einstein s
general relativity. When studying cosmology, various equations are used in order to explain the
different phenomena that it contains, which are derived from general relativity. With this theory
confirmed, all calculations appear more certain and confident. These objects are fairly important as
they are one of the least understood by humans because they depict laws of physics that appear
completely different from elsewhere in the universe, but, with study, can be more understood. Being
completely invisible, it becomes very difficult to observe and study them. However, astronomers
continue to develop different methods to do so. The question that remains is: What exactly is a black
hole? How do they work and abide to the laws of physics? Simple answer, black holes are regions in
space containing gravitational fields so strong that even light cannot escape them. As a result, they
absorb anything that comes close and becomes trapped by its grip. Black holes come in various forms
and sizes, which work differently depending on their properties. These properties, such as mass,
charge and angular momentum, help in defining black holes and it is using this that it is possible to
derive the math to understand them.

Comparing Hitchcock Film Rope And Superman s Crime
Freud says that there are no coincidences and that everything happens for a reason. In the classic
Hitchcock film, Rope, two young students, Brandon Shaw enacted by John Dall and Phillip Morgan

film portrays the true crime story of Loeb and Leopold as also written about in Superman s Crime, by
Miriam Allen deFord. In 1924, Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, the adolescent sons of two wealthy

Crime we are given in depth detail about Loeb and Leopold s master plan before it has taken place.
Hitchcock did not show the viewers what happened prior to the strangulation of David or subsequent
to the call made to the police. This was an engrossing way of filming a movie. The movie was made to
look like it was taken in one continuous shot. This caused the viewer to know what happened the
whole time. In both the true crime story and film the readers and viewers were knew what was going
on during the entire plot scene. These were great definitions of what a dramatic irony is. But the way
Hitchcock does not include the premeditation of the murder is powerful in itself. This glamorized the
plotline by showing a clean scene with no obvious camera

Essay on Xenotransplantation
Xenotransplantation
Introduction
According to Webster s Dictionary, a doctor is one skilled or specializing in healing arts. However,
what is entailed in these healing arts has expanded time and time again over the course of history. At
one point in time, to be a doctor was as simple as administering the right dose of a certain elixir, and
then as time went on advances were made in the areas of antibiotics and other medicines, as well as in
surgical arenas. Now we have come to a new age where doctors are pushing the boundaries of their
capability far beyond anyone imagined they could. Since the first kidney transplant less than 40 years

and those who have suffered a stroke. As with any new technological advance, there is a bevy of
issues and points to discuss before one can form an educated conclusion about what is best for society.
Professional Issues
The professional issues involved in xenotransplantation are especially significant due to the nature of
the medical profession. It is crucial that the primary motivation for doctors always center on doing all
they can, in the best way they can, for their patients. In a portion of the Hippocratic oath taken by
doctors entering the medical profession, they swear that into whatsoever house you shall enter, it shall
be for the good of the sick to the utmost of your power... The question is, what exactly is meant by the
utmost of your power ? Ideally whatever form of organ transplantation helps the most people would
be the best, but unfortunately it is not that simple, there are other issues to be considered.
First of all, the process of xenotransplantation is nowhere near being perfected enough to use on
humans. However, some experts do believe the first clinical trials with pig organs could take place in
as soon as two years. Before this happens, more research needs to be done to figure out how to work
past the current obstacles facing this procedure, one of which is the

Reconciliation Between Trauma And Healing And Reconciliation
Many scholars insist on that fact that when it comes to peace building healing and need to go together,
especially when the groups that have engaged in violence against each other continue to live together.
There is an interactive linkage between trauma healing and reconciliation. The beginning of healing is
generally considered to enhance the possibility of reconciliation, while reconciliation furthers the
possibility of healing. The processes of reconciliation and healing actually appear to be cyclical and
reinforce each other, from one generation to the next, ultimately contributing to the prevention of
future violence. First, reconciliation processes can be demanding both cognitively and emotionally.
Hence, it is important that immediate emotional needs are attended to. In the words of Hizkias Assefa,
Individuals need to heal from wounds that result from being harmed, but also from having harmed
others, or being a member of a group that has harmed others. In Assefa s study in order for
reconciliation to take place, perpetrators and members of the perpetrator group who may not have
engaged in violence also need to heal. However as reconciliation begins, it can, in turns, contribute to
the healing process for survivors. There are several mechanisms that lead to great outcomes. First, the
reconciliation process generally increases the feeling of security, which facilitates further healing
easier. Reconciliation activities may also help make sense of injuries and

The Effect Of Salt For Deicing
Living in a place that snows a lot in the winter, after snowing, the cold temperature created ice on the
roads and sidewalks. The ice makes the road slippery and it can be very dangerous for people when
they are both driving and walking. The ice must be cleaned as fast as possible to make the road
passable and to prevent accidents. This is where de icing chemicals come to work. Transport and road
management governments would send trucks go around the roads and spread a mixture of salt and
sand so that the ice would melt quickly than usual. People would also use deicers for the same reasons
at their home and their neighborhoods. In 2008, U.S. consumption of salt for deicing was 22.6 Mt,
which was about 9% more than that of 2007. It required more rock salt usage because of the greater
winter precipitation in late 2008. The United States produced more salts than any other countries in
the world until the year of 2005, when China surpassed the United States to become the leading
producing nation (Kostick, 2010). Chemicals using for deicing have physical and chemical properties;
their melting capacities have great differences due to their properties. Some common de icing
chemicals are sodium chloride and calcium chloride; however, they are sometime replaced by sodium
bicarbonate, magnesium chloride considering the environmental effects on plants and animals.
Concerns about the extent and severity of environmental impacts of road deicing salt have concerned

While Tom and Mrs. Trask did not hold the gift of Timshel in themselves, Cal does. Although he

giving Cal the freedom he deserves. Although the later actions of Cal are unaware, it can be inferred
that he prevails, due to his earlier actions when he s in such a situation. Proving overall that Timshel is

I Must Be Going By Richard Ford
In the essays Homeplace by Scott Russell Sanders and I Must Be Going by Richard Ford, the authors
discuss their very different viewpoints on whether people should move around or stay put in one
home. In Homeplace, Sanders argues against moving with a didactic and self righteous tone that aims
to put his philosophy of staying put above any other. However, in I Must Be Going, Ford approaches
the topic differently, explaining his own reasons for moving from home to home. Although he is
defensive in reaction to others criticizing his choices to move, he does not put his method of living
above that of others, but simply seeks to justify it. Although the two authors discuss the same topic in
their essays and both use evocative methods of writing to explore the motivations behind moving or
staying put, they do so using very different viewpoints and attitudes towards transience. Throughout
Homeplace, Sanders conveys his moralistic attitude against moving through the use of connotative
diction, example, and the portrayal of his opinion that his way of life is best. He begins the essay by
discussing the story of the Miller family, a family that chooses to stay put even after its farm is torn to

but it was also grand. I suspect that most human achievements worth admiring are the result of such

Population Genetics Of Chickpea And Its Wild Progenitors C
Population genetics of chickpea and its wild progenitors C. reticulatum and C. echinospermum Susan
Moenga Introduction Chickpea, Cicer arietinum, is the second most widely grown legume in the
world, cultivated on ~11.5 million ha mostly in India and Ethiopia (FAOSTAT, 2013). Genetic and
molecular evidence have demonstrated that C. reticulatum is the progenitor of the cultivated pulse,
with Nguyen et al., (2004) and Sethy et al., (2006) both supporting C. reticulatum and C.
echinospermum (both restricted to Southeastern Turkey) to be the primary and secondary gene pools
for the cultivated species respectively. However, apart from the estimated domestication time of 5,700
BP, very little else is known of the genetic diversity of these species as well as the genetic impact of
the domestication process. Such information would lay ground for further research into these species,
allowing for genome wide association mapping into locally adaptive traits in wild species that could
be of agronomic importance. Hypotheses and research questions Cultivated chickpea will have lower
levels of nucleotide diversity relative to its wild progenitors. Such a reduction is attributed to a
domestication bottleneck , where only a small subset of individuals with desirable traits is chosen for
cultivation. Additionally, there will be reduction in diversity attributed to selective breeding that has
over time targeted anthropocentric traits succeeding domestication, that will be visible in select

Cons * Corporations often use sinking funds to purchase back bonds, thus shorting the length of
interest payments for the bondholder/investor, which losses potential money. * Companies also have
the ability to purchase back bonds at a discount or par value, which is less than market value. So in
essence, companies wait for interest rates go down, which in effect increases the value of the bond. *
Creates a lot of ambiguity amongst investors. It becomes of game of beat the Interest rate clock, in
that you are uncertain as to when your bonds are going to be purchased back from the company, thus
never knowing the duration of your investment and the extent of your interest payments/profit.

The dog, also know as man s best friend or more scientifically, Cannis lupus familiaris, has been just

The diet, originated by Loren Cordain, health professor with the Colorado State University, is dependant on a radical distinct thought. Professor Cordain argues that considering that the human genome hasn t evolved over the last 50,000 years possibly even, there exists reason to imagine that this most natural diet for man is what his caveman ancestors ate. Being a team manager, I would work to develop relationships between the coaches and players. An important part of that would also be working with parents of the athletes and protecting the career path of each player. Moreover, he also uses abstract emotional language to create the melancholy mood, reinforcing the theme of loss and the desire of the beloved. For instance, he writes during the spring nights, fill your heart to the brim, and your eyes / too, / with longing and desire (551). The abstract emotional language in this quote, longing and desire work together to construct the hope for his loss of the beloved. In addition, in this quote, there is an exaggeration of being able to replete the heart with ideas, which is not possible; because the whim comes from the mind, not the heart. Therefore, this hyperbole adds an extra effect to amplify the duration of the longing for the loved one to further develop the theme of loss of the beloved. Hence, while emotional language contributes to the mood to enhance the theme, it is also the building blocks of hyperbole, an exaggeration of ideas. Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. Abraham Lincoln. Once you give a man power, it all goes downhill from there. In The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, there is one group of boys on an island. The boys elect one chief, Ralph, but another bigun thinks he s a better chief. So the other boy, Jack, leaves and forms a new tribe with most of the boys. After a little bit of time, the groups begin to fight resulting in a couple of tragic deaths. Why would people follow a corrupt leader like Jack? They follow them because they feel like the new leader can help them better than the old one; they think that the leader or ruler can provide for them and it doesn t matter who that leader is, they will follow them because there s no one else to follow. One reason that people will follow a corrupt leader is that the people will look for anyone else to leave them other than their current leader. The studies are based on the Ball Brown study regarding the relationship between earnings and share prices. This diagram shows that the size and sign of unexpected Earnings per Share (EPS) is related to the sign and size of cumulative Abnormal Return (AR). The graph represents the portfolio in ranking order based on the forecast error and EPS. There are 10 portfolios in which the first portfolio has the most negative forecast error and EPS while the tenth portfolio has the most positive forecast error and EPS. This means that Portfolio 1 is the worst performing firm in regarding the earnings (most negative share price reaction) while Portfolio 10 is the best performing firm (most positive share price reaction). Based on the fourth and fifth portfolio, the share reaction is very small. The negative abnormal return in portfolio 4 is pretty much negligible and the same can be said in portfolio 5 where there is only a slight positive share price reaction. This is due to the fact that the information is not too much of a surprise for the shareholders to react hugely. Therefore, it can be said that from portfolio 1 to 4, they are the bad news firms while portfolio 5 to 10 are the good news firms. In conclusion, the hypothesis made by the studies is proven to be correct. The firm with the most negative forecast error and EPS has the most negative AR and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reasoning behind this clarification is that a country na as a whole may exhibit high power distance, but the distribution of individuals within the country typically follows a normal curve. Primarily, some people will be extremely high or low on power distance, but the majority center around the intermediate levels of power distance. Despite the difference between national and individual levels of power distance, the individual does influence the national level. In a study done by Maznevski, DiStefano, Gomez, Noorderhaven, and Wu (2002), it was found that when cultural data was first gathered at the individual level then aggregated to the national level, there was a Hofstede 5 difference in means between countries. This indicates that, the average individual level of power distance will be higher in a country that is ranked high on power distance. So what exactly influences the individual level of power distance? Such aspects as age, where you grew up, and if you moved away from the country help to determine each individual s level of power distance (Triandis, 2004; Yamada Singelis, 1999). In this case, using the definition of mercenary as an individual hired to support a foreign army (Dictionary.com), disambiguates the confusion with private security forces as security contractors working for an independent company offering military or security related services (Fulloon, p 29). Therefore, private military forces of today are not true mercenaries, yet the action and purpose of deploying private forces to bridge workforce and security gaps is relevant to historical times. In the Post Cold War era, the private military and security forces of today are known as Private Military Companies (PMC) and Private Security Companies (PSC), among other variants of similar names. Soviet general Terentii Shtykov established the Provisional People s Committee for North Korea in 1946 and Kim Il sung became chairman. Shtykov broke North Korea s stratified class system, nationalized critical industries, and as a result many fled to the south. The most important one would deal with the correctness of Einstein s general relativity. When studying cosmology, various equations are used in order to explain the different phenomena that it contains, which are derived from general relativity. With this theory confirmed, all calculations appear more certain and confident. These objects are fairly important as they are one of the least understood by humans because they depict laws of physics that appear completely different from elsewhere in the universe, but, with study, can be more understood. Being completely invisible, it becomes very difficult to observe and study them. However, astronomers continue to develop different methods to do so. The question that remains is: What exactly is a black hole? How do they work and abide to the laws of physics? Simple answer, black holes are regions in space containing gravitational fields so strong that even light cannot escape them. As a result, they absorb anything that comes close and becomes trapped by its grip. Black holes come in various forms and sizes, which work differently depending on their properties. In both the true crime story and film the readers and viewers were knew what was going on during the entire plot scene. These were great definitions of what a dramatic irony is. But the way Hitchcock does not include the premeditation of the murder is powerful in itself. This glamorized the plotline by showing a clean scene with no obvious camera ... • 29. Reconciliation Between Trauma And Healing And Reconciliation Many scholars insist on that fact that when it comes to peace building healing and need to go together, especially when the groups that have engaged in violence against each other continue to live together. There is an interactive linkage between trauma healing and reconciliation. The beginning of healing is generally considered to enhance the possibility of reconciliation, while reconciliation furthers the possibility of healing. The processes of reconciliation and healing actually appear to be cyclical and reinforce each other, from one generation to the next, ultimately contributing to the prevention of future violence. First, reconciliation processes can be demanding both cognitively and emotionally. Hence, it is important that immediate emotional needs are attended to. In the words of Hizkias Assefa, Individuals need to heal from wounds that result from being harmed, but also from having harmed others, or being a member of a group that has harmed others. In Assefa s study in order for reconciliation to take place, perpetrators and members of the perpetrator group who may not have engaged in violence also need to heal. However as reconciliation begins, it can, in turns, contribute to the healing process for survivors. There are several mechanisms that lead to great outcomes. First, the reconciliation process generally increases the feeling of security, which facilitates further healing easier. Reconciliation activities may also help make sense of injuries and ... • 30. The Effect Of Salt For Deicing Living in a place that snows a lot in the winter, after snowing, the cold temperature created ice on the roads and sidewalks. The ice makes the road slippery and it can be very dangerous for people when they are both driving and walking. The ice must be cleaned as fast as possible to make the road passable and to prevent accidents. This is where de icing chemicals come to work. Transport and road management governments would send trucks go around the roads and spread a mixture of salt and sand so that the ice would melt quickly than usual. People would also use deicers for the same reasons at their home and their neighborhoods. In 2008, U.S. consumption of salt for deicing was 22.6 Mt, which was about 9% more than that of 2007. It required more rock salt usage because of the greater winter precipitation in late 2008. The United States produced more salts than any other countries in the world until the year of 2005, when China surpassed the United States to become the leading producing nation (Kostick, 2010). Chemicals using for deicing have physical and chemical properties; their melting capacities have great differences due to their properties. • 37. I Must Be Going By Richard Ford In the essays Homeplace by Scott Russell Sanders and I Must Be Going by Richard Ford, the authors discuss their very different viewpoints on whether people should move around or stay put in one home. In Homeplace, Sanders argues against moving with a didactic and self righteous tone that aims to put his philosophy of staying put above any other. However, in I Must Be Going, Ford approaches the topic differently, explaining his own reasons for moving from home to home. Although he is defensive in reaction to others criticizing his choices to move, he does not put his method of living above that of others, but simply seeks to justify it. Although the two authors discuss the same topic in their essays and both use evocative methods of writing to explore the motivations behind moving or staying put, they do so using very different viewpoints and attitudes towards transience. Throughout Homeplace, Sanders conveys his moralistic attitude against moving through the use of connotative diction, example, and the portrayal of his opinion that his way of life is best. He begins the essay by discussing the story of the Miller family, a family that chooses to stay put even after its farm is torn to pieces by tornadoes several times. He writes, Their commitment to the place may have been foolhardy, but it was also grand. I suspect that most human achievements worth admiring are the result of such devotion (4). Population Genetics Of Chickpea And Its Wild Progenitors C Population genetics of chickpea and its wild progenitors C. reticulatum and C. echinospermum Susan Moenga Introduction Chickpea, Cicer arietinum, is the second most widely grown legume in the world, cultivated on ~11.5 million ha mostly in India and Ethiopia (FAOSTAT, 2013). Genetic and molecular evidence have demonstrated that C. reticulatum is the progenitor of the cultivated pulse, with Nguyen et al., (2004) and Sethy et al., (2006) both supporting C. reticulatum and C. echinospermum (both restricted to Southeastern Turkey) to be the primary and secondary gene pools for the cultivated species respectively. However, apart from the estimated domestication time of 5,700 BP, very little else is known of the genetic diversity of these species as well as the genetic impact of the domestication process. Such information would lay ground for further research into these species, allowing for genome wide association mapping into locally adaptive traits in wild species that could be of agronomic importance. Hypotheses and research questions Cultivated chickpea will have lower levels of nucleotide diversity relative to its wild progenitors. Such a reduction is attributed to a domestication bottleneck , where only a small subset of individuals with desirable traits is chosen for cultivation. Additionally, there will be reduction in diversity attributed to selective breeding that has over time targeted anthropocentric traits succeeding domestication, that will be visible in select ...
