- 16. ACTIVITY PROCEDURE 1. Uselitmus paper to test for an acid and base substance. 2. Dip a piece of blue litmus paper into the liquid. If the paper turns red, the liquid is an acid. 3. If the paper remains blue, the liquid is a base. 4. Make column A (acid) and column B (base) then write your answers on one whole sheet of paper. 5. Then, write your observation.
