Teaching Strategy- it is a set of decisions to achieve an objective that results a plan.
Constructivist Approach
-learners come to class with entry knowledge and skills. As well as teacher construct meaning based on prior knowledge and experience while learning is social and active.
Collaborative Approach
-learners learn better when they learn with others. Learners work together towards a common goal.
Reflective Approach
-is a strategy teachers use to self-analyze their teaching to improve themselves, find solutions to students’ problems, or learn more about their practice.
Integrative Approach
-learning are more meaningful and further enriched if lesson is connected to other disciplines and is connected to real life experiences.
Methods in Teaching Araling Panlipunan Grade 2
Thematic Method
- is connecting all subject areas using a common “theme”. This theme serves as the focus or the binding idea in which the objectives and activities of different learning areas will be based.
Inquiry Method
-the core of inquiry is a spontaneous and a self-directed exploration.
Activity Method
-the teacher emphasize his/her method of teaching through activity in which the students participate rigorously and bring about efficient learning experiences.
-learning by doing is the main focus in this method.
Role Playing
- one of the time-rested strategies in teaching Araling Panlipunan. Through the assumption of different historical characters, the students would enjoy and learn the subject.
Visualization and Imagination Exercise
- this is one effective way to create a picture of a situation of any historical event using the power of the mind.
Web Charting
-this is one way to show the relationship of ideas using the web chart.
Use of Films and Photography
-the images of people, places, and events are seen through films and photography. The actual picture of significant characters and places who took parts in historical events is much visible.
Telling Stories
-students love to hear stories most especially from their teachers. The students learn through listening to the historical stories as uttered by the Araling Panlipunan teacher.
Songs and Poems
- there are songs and poems that feature topics in Araling Panlipunan. These are effective compositions which the teacher may use in teaching the subject more productively. These are the strategies and approaches in teaching Araling Panlipunan which may be found effective.
