Read the fables with understanding.
III. COMPREHENSION CHECK:
Answer the following questions (2 points each for items 1-7 while 6 points for item 8):
1. Who are the characters in the first fable? Who are the characters in the second fable?
2. What is the first fable about/theme? What about the second one/theme?
3. What lesson is derived from the first fable? What about the second one?
4. Did the donkey do the right thing? Why? Did the carabao and cow do the right thing? Why?

threatened?
6. If you were either the carabao or the cow who both made a mistake and were caught up in a bad
situation like cheating for instance, would you try to cover up or tell the truth instead? What would
you do if this happens to you (you were caught cheating).
7. What consequences did the characters face when they were caught?
8. Using a Venn Diagram, compare and contrast (give the similarities and differences) the two fables: The
Donkey in Lion’s Skin and The Cow and the Carabao. (6 points)
