The Four Witches In Dorothy s Wizard Of Oz
In the first chapter of the wonderful wizard of Oz, we are introduced to Dorothy, her uncle Henry and
his wife Em. Dorothy and her family lived in a very petite, four walled house in the core of the Kansas
prairie. Inside the house, they had a very small hole in the ground that serve as a cyclone cellar .
Whenever Dorothy set foot outside the house, all she would notice is how gray and dull everything
would look; including her aunt Em. She who once was a young and pretty wife , was now thin and
gaunt and never smiled and her uncle Henry was exact same way. The only source of content that
Dorothy had came from her dog, Toto. He was not like her s surroundings, he was cheerful and play
with her all day long, but one particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But the Tin Woodman chopped and cleared the path. The scarecrow asked him why would he want a
heart if he could have a brain. The Tin Woodman began to tell them a story as to why: Back when he
was a human with a brain and heart he was afraid of being lonely and met this lovely Munchkin girl
who he fell in love with. She promised to marry him if he would work hard enough to built a better
house for her, but the old lady she lived with was lazy and did not want her to marry and then leave
her. So the old woman decided to go to the Wicked Witch of the East, and stop them from being
together. The Witch man casted a spell on the Tin Woodman s ax and chopped off his limbs one by
one, but every time he would replace them with limbs of tin. Nevertheless, the ax ended up splitting
him in half, he then, was no longer made of flesh nor had a heart. He then realized, he no longer loved
or cared the Munchkin girl. And then, one day while axing some trees, he forgot to bring his oil can
and got caught up in a rainstorm, which made his joints rust. While standing there for over a year, he
reminisce on how happy he once was when he still had a heart. Dorothy and the Scarecrow both
seemed very interested in his story, but the Scarecrow still believed that a brain was far more
important than a heart. Both the him and the Tin Woodman debated on which was more important.

Essay On The Devil s Arithmetic
The Devil s Arithmetic is gripping book that grabs hold of you and doesn t let go. It is a book to helps
children of this generation remember the horror the Nazis caused. It is important for us to remember
the past. We should always try to remember. This book is to remember the chilling tale furthermore. In
November 1988 Jane Yolen wrote and published The Devil s Arithmetic. The book soon grew to be
popular and they soon made a movie. It released on March 28 1999 it gave the story of Chaya just as
horrific. The tale goes like this. Hannah (soon to be Chaya) is tired of hearing about her religion s
past. She and her family will soon be getting together to celebrate passover. While she is celebrating
she drinks too much wine. She then has a supernatural experience that takes her to Poland in 1941.
She is in house with some new family that believed for some reason that she is from Lublin and her
parents are dead and she is very sick.. Her family treats her being dysfunctional like nothing. Hannah
has to change into a new dress for a wedding. The wedding is taking place in town, which they have to
walk to, the husband and wife are supposedly going to be married soon, but the Nazis soon put a stop.
While celebrating, they intervene with the Nazis. The Nazis then force them to climb into
transportation at a very rapid pace. The new Jews that Hannah had just meant cram into the vehicles.

Chaya goes back in time to learn about the past and change her into a better citizen. The characters are
mostly accurate, but they do leave out some minuscule details. They keep the family the same in the
present and the characters in the past are in both the movie and the book. The theme keeps the same
and that is we should remember. The movie and the book talk all about remembering. Therefore since
they have similarities, there must be

businesses in chemicals. Welch was known as a maverick from the beginning. Working away from
headquarters, and in a section of the company outside the traditional electric businesses, he was
unhappy because of the low raise he was given, and he felt that GE had a strict bureaucracy. He would
have left the company had it not been for Reuben Gutoff ( Thought Leader ). In 1968, Welch was
appointed General Manager of the worldwide Plastics Division and became a vice president in 1972.
His move up the corporate ladder was steady. He became a senior vice president in 1977, and a vice

Reflective Essay Work
When it comes to work, most of my work is comprised of personal projects or school work I don t
have a job in the sense of something that will make me money. I work best when i am told exactly
what my tasks will be and when I have to do them. I can do self directed work, but it is harder for me.
I think it s because when there is someone who is telling me that a certain task is essential, I am afraid
of what will happen if I don t meet the deadline, whereas I don t scare myself as much. As for the the
specific kinds of work I like to do, I enjoy working with both my hands and my mind equally. I don t
enjoy super labor intensive jobs, but I like jobs where I still get to create something. That said, I also
need proof that what I am doing is actually productive, and worth something. What I make does not
have to be a physical object, but I wouldn t be able to stand a job where I know what I do might not
even be used. I do not have an official job. All of the work that I have done has either been for school
or for myself, and a lot of my personal projects are writing or art based, since I want them to lead
directly into practicing skills for a possible future career. These things might not be considered work,
but they are still productive, and the fact that I have thought about how these activities might lead into
a future career might suggest that I have thought about how much effort and time getting and working
at that career will take. In fact, I have both over and

Data Warehousing Is A Single Repository Or Storage Of Data...
1. INTRODUCTION
Data warehousing is a single repository or storage of data integrated from different sources which
allows the business and the organization to generate a report or analysis to make decisions based on
those data. Data warehousing is an integral part of any organization as it helps to increase the
efficiency of the decision makers by integrating and transforming the data from multiple incompatible
sources to the consistent and meaningful information which allows them to perform accurate,
consistent and substantive analysis of data(P. 1152).
The data stored in data warehouse will not provide any benefit to the organization until the hidden
information is extracted from it. There are various way to extract the data, however data mining is the
best method to get the meaningful trends and patterns from the data warehouse. Therefore, data
mining can be defined as the method of extracting the valid, comprehensible and previously unknown
information from the huge storage to use on the decision making process (P. 1233).
This report will presents the various features of data mining tools and emphasize the importance of
data mining to realize the value of data warehouse.
2. DATA MINING TOOLS

Symbolism In Strange Fruit By Abel Meeropol And The Flowers
Wherever there is difference, conflict often follows in pursuit. It is evident that this fact has been
present throughout humanity s history since the beginning of time. After thousands of years, it should
be exceedingly obvious of what is causing the great divide between human beings. Yet, even with so
many signs, the human population is often oblivious to the discrimination many other individuals face.
For those who are aware, many remain hesitant to help and are even willing to turn a blind eye to such
iniquity. Within the written pieces Strange Fruit by Abel Meeropol and The Flowers by Alice Walker,
this situation is approached in different styles through the utilization of several literary devices.
However, Strange Fruit exhibits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is shown through a blend of sickening and tranquil imagery as well as parallel structure. For
instance, when describing the strange fruit and its setting, the narrator describes [A] Pastoral scene of
the gallant South, The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth (5 6). The two scenes presented to the
reader are immensely contrasting, to the point that it is unsettling. However, the sentence s structure
makes it seem as if such atrocities are an element of what makes the South so gallant and peaceful,
further hinting at the South s acceptance of prejudice as part of its culture. In continuation with the
description of the fruit, the author describes it as being for the crows to pluck, for the rain to gather,
for the wind to suck, for the sun to rot, for the tree to drop (9 11). The parallel structure of the fruit
being incessantly acted upon by another force is heavily repeated throughout the third stanza. Not only
does this give the tone that this process has been occurring long enough to the point of becoming
almost somewhat of a tradition, but it also shows the fruit, the person, being bruised over and over
again until it becomes absolutely unprofitable. People may be unwilling to help because of the
benefits and pride that comes with being able to put

Equilibrium Of Supply And Demand
Equilibrium is important when it comes to not only maintain a successful business but to also maintain
a successful economy in general. This determines the efficiency of the goods at a certain point. There
are different factors that go into equilibrium such as supply and demand where the curves determine
the cost to the consumer as well as the cost to supplier. Different costs of taxes, benefits of
international trade, and externalities all go into how to maintain the supply and demand, and why it is
so desirable
To understand the equilibrium of supply and demand, you must first understand what each one means.
Supply and demand work together to make the seller and consumer happy. The equilibrium needs to
be balanced in order for both parties to be satisfied.
Supply is the quantity of a good or item that is placed in the market for sale. Supply quantity is based
on the price of the item, availability, and several cost factors. A manufacturer needs to have pricing set
in order to keep a leading edge amongst the other competitors. A manufacturer has to keep up with the
supply of their products in order for the demand to stay level. When the supply starts to dwindle or
become unavailable, the consumer is the one to suffer. Depending on the product, they might be
willing to pay a little extra if it s something they really want or need. The suppliers can increase the
pricing to make their profits higher, as long as they don t out price themselves against the competitors.

Evaluation Of Employee Performance Appraisal
Q5. What is meant by employee Performance Appraisal? What exactly do you measure or appraise
through performance appraisal process? Specifically discuss the reasons why the authors of your text
are generalizing that Performance Appraisal (PA) in public organizations is highly ineffective and
problematic. a. Employee performance appraisal evaluates an employee s work behavior comparing it
to predetermined well defined set of performance metrics (job related standards). The results are used
to provide feedback to the employee to show where improvements are needed and why they are
needed. These appraisals should/can also be used to assess training needs, promotion potential (retain,

It is not what I want or what I find as an attractive trait or behavior. Items such as character, looks,
race etc. should never be used, why well because they really have nothing to do with an individual s
job behavior. As a manager myself I find it difficult to truly appraise individuals, for many reasons,
one is that not everyone has the same job in my organization, two there are over 80 people that work
in there so remember and playing back all work performance is often a difficult job for the 3
supervisors I have. Moving back on track; performance appraisals should encompass relevant
performance standards and performance criteria in order to measure performance, which as stated in
both the lecture notes and text is an elusive term. c. Specifically discuss the reasons why the authors of
your text are generalizing that Performance Appraisal (PA) in public organizations is highly
ineffective and problematic. The authors in the text generalize PA s in public service are highly
ineffective and problematic for serval reasons such as the fact that about 20% of employees indicate
that the appraisal system motivated them to do a better job. Or that performance management is not
effective in providing specific expectations, useful feedback, engaging and energizing the work force,
or raising levels of employee satisfaction. The authors also list a plethora of paradoxes concerning
PAs. For example one is that employees are less certain or even

Myrtle Beach Vacation
Have you ever wondered what Myrtle Beach has to offer for its tourists? Well I m about to tell you.
Every year I go on vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a week. We usually leave a few days
after Christmas and come back a few days after New Years. I go with my grandma, grandpa, aunt,
uncle, and some of my cousins. We have been going on this vacation for about six years, but at first it
only started out as us going down for the weekend. The first two years we went to Myrtle Beach it was
just me and my grandma and grandpa, but after that year some more of my family started to come
down with us. This past year I had to wake up around 5 o clock so that I could get ready in time to
leave early. The first thing I did was take a shower, then I finished packing my bags, and finally I got
ready to leave. My grandma came and picked me up around 5:45 and we headed to her house. Once,
we got to her house my grandpa was in the motor home and ready to go. We loaded the rest of the
bags into the motor home and then we were on our way. After a long 5 hour drive (that I slept during
most of) we made it to our destination. Once, we arrived at the Myrtle Beach State Park Campground
we parked and hooked up the electricity and water to the motor home. When we arrived my aunt and
uncle were already there and hooked up. When we were all straight, we headed to Rioz Brazilian

John Donne s Sonnet About Death
John Donne s sonnet about death focuses on the popular opinion (then and now) of death and the
process of dying. To Donne, death, a necessary passage to eternity, is pleasant and better than sleep,
and many people give death more power and honor than he deserves. Because of its pleasure, Donne
theorizes that death releases all pain and grief and is associated with only positive emotions. On the
other hand, a rock song released in 2012 called The Fighter written by The Fray discusses the fear and
pain associated with the experience of death. John Donne s tenth sonnet explores an attitude of death
that people perceive it to be and what death really is according to ideas of Christian eternity and
pleasure. These attitudes of death that Donne discusses in his sonnet oppose the attitudes of death in
The Fray s song which portrays death as painful and frightening with affects of loneliness and despair.
Donne s sonnet begins with an octet that addresses and describes Death as being incapable, pleasant,
and powerless. To Donne, death is incapable of fully killing someone, for what death perceives as a
person s end is only sleep in terms of Christianity. Sleep is a luxury and a necessity, so it follows that
death is a luxury and a necessity in order to enter into eternal life (Chippchipp1). Donne admonishes
death, telling it to not be proud or think that it has the power to kill someone, because if one holds to
the Christian idea of eternity there is nothing to fear in death.

Assisi Chapter 9 Summary
The poor man of Assisi, Francis, had little education and lacked literacy skills, but these shortcomings
did not become an obstacle in sharing the important message of the gospel. He was not a scholarly
saint like Augustine or Thomas Aquinas. Yet, Francis dedication touched many through his religious
writings and compilation of poems, songs and prayers. Francis was not a gifted student as a child and
he received no university or seminary degree. His conversion experience came in the form of dreams
where God commissioned him to rebuild His church and care for the poor. He took these marching
orders seriously and committed himself to following Christ in reality and truth as revealed in the
Scriptures . Chapter 10 The Death of Francis In 1225, Francis lived in Rieti and suffered many
ailments. He was unable to eat, impacted by dropsy, edema excess water accumulation. Severe
ophthalmia, with its extreme sensitivity to light and pain from inflammation of the mucous
membranes of the eye, proved excruciating. He was not a very co operative patient apparently. At the

Mere Christianity Research Paper
There are many situations where I felt myself and others were treated unfairly; However, I m going to
share the one that struck out to me the most. Growing up, I was raised in a Christian background,
specifically Methodist. Even though I respect the views of those who are not Christian, unfortunately
not all Christians do that. Some Christians use their Christianity to judge those who are not living up
to their expectations or those who are not righteous in their eyes. I experienced it myself because I was
in a situation where other Christians were castigating me.

were talking about me behind my back. It was quite pathetic to see how hypocritical these people were
to me. One day I wasn t able to bear my silence anymore. I had to speak up and stand for what I

Matthew 6:1 talks about hypocrisy. Then I stood up and interrupted her. I remember saying, With all

Christianity as a way to judge others and put others down? From what I m hearing we should not

sinner but yet they ve forgotten we re all sinners. Is it right to act holy but yet so impure ? Silence

The North Korean People s Army
At 4:00am on June 25, 1950, the North Korean People s Army (NKPA) crossed the 38th parallel in
force and invaded South Korea with the objective of unifying the two Koreas into a single communist
nation. General Douglas MacArthur would once again prove his value as a military commander with
his conception of Operation Chromite, which directed how the UN forces would respond. MacArthur
s unique gift in recognizing strategic opportunities, along with America s ability to quickly gather
military assets and counter in force, were key to the success of the Operation Chromite landings at
Inchon and turning the tide of the Korean War.
From the moment their invasion began, NKPA experienced success against the UN forces, led by the
United States and sent in to assist the South Korean Army. However, UN troops, all of which were
now under the command of General MacArthur, were literally overwhelmed at the onslaught of the
well equipped and experienced NKPA. By the end of July, UN forces had been driven into a small
area in the southeast portion of the Korean Pennisula around the Port of Pusan (present day Busan).
With the NKPA at their front, and the Sea of Japan at their back, UN forces were in dire straight and
running out of options. Only the visionary mind of General MacArthur conceptualizing and executing
Operation Chromite could avoid a military disaster and save South Korea.
Although the NKPA appeared in control of the conflict, MacArthur recognized the strain placed on the

Religion In Country Music
One aspect that I analyzed in country music was the presence of religion. This is an issue that many
sociologists choose to analyze because of its relation to organizations and groups. In country music
there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn t occur considerably in the songs I analyzed, it
tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion Plays a key role in developing
people s ideas about right and wrong (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major influence in many
country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music. Country music is not a religion by any means,
but the role of Christianity in the music can have a significant role in the way listeners determine what
is right and wrong. Religion s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these tended to have a major reoccurrence in all of the songs. The question I can now answer is
how does country music play a role into the fears and dreams of the listeners. In the lyrics there is a
certain kind of language that the artists use to try and capture an image in the listener s head. In
society, Language gives mean to the people, objects, events, and the ideas of our lives. If fact,
language reflects and often determines reality (2015; 30). The reality is that the language in these
songs gives to the listener can give them a dream of finding true love. The language gives hope to the
listener that there is that one person they will love out there, but this also plays into the fear of
heartbreak. Heartbreak was also discussed a great amount and is something that most people tend to
fear. Another way that these songs play towards people s fears and dreams is through social class and
money. While social class is one of the most common issues, the lyrics and videos manage to give
followers the images of how a luxurious lifestyle can lead to happiness and love. This can definitely
have a fear aspect to it as well because of how unlikely it is that a person will fall into the social class
that the songs

Euthanasia And Physician Assisted Suicide Essay
Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide are both types of medical assistance aiding in ending a
suffering patient s life. This pain may be due to a terminal illness and suffering as well as those in an
irreversible coma. This practice of doctor assisted suicide is illegal in many countries, but is increasing
in popularity as people start to recognize the positive aspects that euthanasia has to offer for those that
fit the criteria. Euthanasia is essential for those, placed in such life diminishing situations, and whom
no longer want to experience suffering. This is where the issue gets complicated, and many religious
groups argue that individuals should not have the legal right to choose whether they get to die or not,
but that it is simply in God s hands. Suffering patients argue that they should be given the right to
choose whether or not they have to experience this suffering, to end their life with the dignity they still
have, and to alleviate the stress that their deteriorating life conditions have on their families,
themselves and the entire healthcare system. Therefore, despite the many arguments, euthanasia can
have a very positive impact on the lives and families of suffering individuals, as well as the Canadian
healthcare system.
To kill an individual or simply let someone die who meets the criteria of a sick patient are deemed
very two different things. Killing someone who does not wish to die goes against our basic human law
of life. Killing of intent defies

China s Rise Of Power
China s Rise to Power
In the past decade, China has proven their potential to be peaceful in their rise to power. The United
States was acknowledged as one of the leading world powers in the late 19th century, following the
Cold War. This power came to be as a result of significant domestic industrialization and widespread
international influence. However, China s case is a bit more complex. It s rise to power was marked by
the Communist Party s completion of its sixth 5 year plan in 1982. Despite the country s rapid
development, much corruption and violence had occurred in its beginning years. Still, China will
likely not repeat the same mistakes and will avoid international conflict in its advancement. This can
be predicted by examining the country s current economic growth, stable relationships with trading
partners, and their keen focus on keeping citizens satisfied with the government.
The Chinese Communist revolution, beginning in 1949, signified the start of the country s desire for
social, political, and economic change. Mao Zedong, founder of the People s Republic of China, grew
up in poverty and aimed to dismantle a system of inequality and oppression. His platform was enticing
and quickly supported by many. Still, this revolution was not a peaceful one. His Red Army
successfully defeated both the US Army and the Japanese. As a result, China was reunified as a
sovereign state. However, this seems to be the height of Mao Zedong s positive influence. His so

Food In Ancient China
In modern day China, 45 billion pairs of chopsticks are used each year. Ever since a long, long time
ago, China has been using the same tools to prepare their foods. In addition, their cooking recipes are
mostly affected by what can be grown in the area they lived in. All of their techniques and flavors are
combined into one single dish. Chinese cuisine has been full of special flavors and techniques for
many years.
Cooking To the Present Day
Ancient Chinese cooking has been full of special flavors and techniques for a long time. The article
Voyages in World History states, Shang Dynasty still used many of the same tools as today s cooks.
The Chinese consider cooking as more of a tradition because they use the same items for cooking
today and they haven t changed much. The article also states, The division between starch and dishes
made from cut up meat and vegetables continue to the present day. Even today, people are making
food the same way because what is in the food is still divided today. Northern China could only eat
vegetables and meat for a long time because it was too cold to grow rice, and Southern China could
grow rice.To summerize, China hasn t changed much of what they eat and what they use to make their

Working alone or as part of a panel of other arbitrators, they can decide on procedural issues and could
be required by law.
Mediators are neutral and harbor no invested interest in the conflict or with any of the parties

The Importance Of Sedentary Lifestyles In Students s Life
Slowly rubbing your groggy eyes and waking up to lazily drive the short distance to school. In class
nodding off to the drone of the teacher s drawling voice, the dull clacking of the Chromebooks around
you. Sleepily dragging your feet to the next class, only to remain in the same stiff chair for the entirety
of the class period. These are the sedentary lifestyle actions that far are too familiar in high schoolers
lives. These students will then grow up and likely befall to the life of a sedentary adult as well. This is
why it is essential to alter these habits while these students are young. One can observe these
unhealthy routines at school each day and I propose a movement to permute this standard at North
High School. The staff at North High School should encourage and implement additional physical
activity options for the students at North High School in order to enhance their health and assist them
in developing healthy habits.
Developing these healthy habits at North High School is vital to students health now and in the future.
This issue is relevant today due to the issues that sedentary lifestyles cause and the benefits that
exercise can lead to. One problem that a sedentary lifestyle can produce is obesity. According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 17 percent of children aged two to 19 are obese, while
36.5 percent of adults in the United States are obese as well ( Obesity ). This statistic exhibits the fact
that the problem of obesity

Political organization in China
Dynasty rise and falls characterized China s ancient political organizations (Kissinger Henry 88). The
dynasty era began during the Xia dynasty in around 2100 1600 BC and ended when the Republic of
China government was formed in the year 1949. Their political organization was hereditary, hence the
name dynasty. This meant that when the king or the emperor died the succession for the throne would
occur in the same family line; mainly from father to son. There were some occasions, however, when
a non blood relative would assume the leadership positions. Nevertheless, this was in very rare
instances. This kind of political organization and ruling to some extent might have promoted unity of
the various kingdoms as per the time; although this was not always the case. There are some instances
when the country Kingdom split and later merged again through conquests and war.
The ancient China was characterized by many dynasties (Kissinger Henry 72). The Xia dynasty was
the first. The Shang dynasties succeed the Xia dynasty (1600 1046). Then there was the Zhou
Dynasty. It was followed by the

St. Jones By Synecdoche
Throughout Literature the reader often finds themselves thrust into the world of its author, this world
relies heavily upon imagery to assist in the formation of this world. In saying this, however, a
significant amount of this literary world derived from text is lost due to it being written from the point
of view of the recorder, this is even more true in regards to history. Narrowing down the notion of
historical point of view, the reader must often times seek out information from both sides to get a pure
account of the past and are scarcely ever given a completely unbiased historical account due to the
primary ascender being given free reign as to what will be recorded. This idea of the victorious being

from the past without there being some kind of force behind it but instead these areas often take a
more dramatic and less sought after turn. These echos of past pain become places wrought with
violence, corruption, and crime which leave behind any hope for a better future but instead give way
to a great fall. Using synecdoche the reader is able to vividly see the downward spiral of the people of
St. Lucia He warched a falling star singe the arc of its zone and traced the comet as its declining

people of the island are progressively getting worse is not only a beautiful way to describe an ascent
from a once previously higher place into what now seems like chaos but also because the use of
synecdoche is still engrained here in the text because a comet was at one point a falling star but has
now passed into earth s atmosphere. The use of falling star could also assist in the idea that at as the
people of the island further descend into difficult times they begin to become more chaotic until the

strategic options are increasing the number of non exclusive dealers by 100, developing a formal

number of non exlusive dealers by 100, and the last plan was to only do a better job with current

Steel garage doors were preferred to wood garage door by a 9 to 1 margin. With everything being said,

residential garage door industry sales were expected to reach $2.2 billion with 90% of sales being steel
garage doors. Demand for replacement garage doors was driven by the continued aging of the housing
stock and the conversion of homeowners from wood doors to lighter weight, easier to maintain steel
doors. Also, product innovations such as insulated steel doors, new springing systems, and residential
garage doors with improved safety features have made steel doors increasingly popular. B. Industry

Independent dealers typically sold 3 different brands and there was a clearly dominant brand which
accounted for 60% of total garage door sales, the second brand which accounted for 30% of sales, and
the weakest brand which accounted for 10% of sales. Since there are 50 exclusive dealers serving 50

behind his suspension were allegations on the grounds of domestic violence. Though the charges were

outrage would subside though since Brown will return for the rest of the season. Although maybe not

Essay about analysis of Edmund Spenser s sonnet 67
Edmund Spenser Sonnet 67 Edmund Spenser s Sonnet 67 is one of 85 sonnets from Amoretti which
was written about his courtship of Elizabeth Boyle. Spenser and Boyle were married in 1594. Sonnet
67 uses a hunting themed metaphor common in 16th century England comparing the woman to a deer
and the man to a huntsman in pursuit. Sonnet 67 appears to have been inspired by an earlier work by
Petrarch, Rima 190, but with a different ending. In this paper we will take an in depth look at this
work, also commonly referred to as Lyke as a Huntsman . First we will take a look at a literal
interpretation of Sonnet 67. This piece begins with a huntsman in pursuit. His stalked prey, a deer, has

The gentle deare returnd the selfe same way, (Spenser ll. 7) shows that the woman comes back
towards the man. Spenser uses the word deare instead of deer to allude to the metaphor of the deer
actually being a woman that he cares for very much. However, she did not return to him specifically
but just happened upon him in her search for someone or something else, Thinking to quench her
thirst at the next brooke (Spenser ll. 8). Now we will look at the second half of Sonnet 67, also in a
metaphorical sense. The woman sees that the man is no longer chasing after her There she beholding
me with mylder looke, (Spenser ll. 9) and suddenly decides he might not be such a bad suitor after all
Sought not to fly, but fearelesse still did bide: (Spencer ll.10). Spenser turns this piece around from the
original Petrarch piece here. He shows that it is the woman that is in control as opposed to the man.
He reaches out to her nervously because she has been running from him all this time and now she
seems to be encouraging and wanting his affections. He appears hopeful that his sentiments will be
well received by the woman and at the same time fearful of rejection. But she allows him to court her
now and encourages him to love her instead of playing hard to get and running off again Till I in hand
her yet halfe trembling tooke, / And with her owne goodwill hir fyrmely tyde (Spenser ll. 11 and 12).

  • 2. The Four Witches In Dorothy s Wizard Of Oz In the first chapter of the wonderful wizard of Oz, we are introduced to Dorothy, her uncle Henry and his wife Em. Dorothy and her family lived in a very petite, four walled house in the core of the Kansas prairie. Inside the house, they had a very small hole in the ground that serve as a cyclone cellar . Whenever Dorothy set foot outside the house, all she would notice is how gray and dull everything would look; including her aunt Em. She who once was a young and pretty wife , was now thin and gaunt and never smiled and her uncle Henry was exact same way. The only source of content that Dorothy had came from her dog, Toto. Nevertheless, the ax ended up splitting him in half, he then, was no longer made of flesh nor had a heart. He then realized, he no longer loved or cared the Munchkin girl. And then, one day while axing some trees, he forgot to bring his oil can and got caught up in a rainstorm, which made his joints rust. While standing there for over a year, he reminisce on how happy he once was when he still had a heart. Dorothy and the Scarecrow both seemed very interested in his story, but the Scarecrow still believed that a brain was far more important than a heart. • 5. Reflective Essay Work When it comes to work, most of my work is comprised of personal projects or school work I don t have a job in the sense of something that will make me money. I work best when i am told exactly what my tasks will be and when I have to do them. I can do self directed work, but it is harder for me. I think it s because when there is someone who is telling me that a certain task is essential, I am afraid of what will happen if I don t meet the deadline, whereas I don t scare myself as much. As for the the specific kinds of work I like to do, I enjoy working with both my hands and my mind equally. I don t enjoy super labor intensive jobs, but I like jobs where I still get to create something. That said, I also need proof that what I am doing is actually productive, and worth something. What I make does not have to be a physical object, but I wouldn t be able to stand a job where I know what I do might not even be used. I do not have an official job. All of the work that I have done has either been for school or for myself, and a lot of my personal projects are writing or art based, since I want them to lead directly into practicing skills for a possible future career. These things might not be considered work, but they are still productive, and the fact that I have thought about how these activities might lead into a future career might suggest that I have thought about how much effort and time getting and working at that career will take. • 7. Symbolism In Strange Fruit By Abel Meeropol And The Flowers Wherever there is difference, conflict often follows in pursuit. It is evident that this fact has been present throughout humanity s history since the beginning of time. After thousands of years, it should be exceedingly obvious of what is causing the great divide between human beings. Yet, even with so many signs, the human population is often oblivious to the discrimination many other individuals face. For those who are aware, many remain hesitant to help and are even willing to turn a blind eye to such iniquity. Within the written pieces Strange Fruit by Abel Meeropol and The Flowers by Alice Walker, this situation is approached in different styles through the utilization of several literary devices. However, Strange Fruit exhibits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is shown through a blend of sickening and tranquil imagery as well as parallel structure. For instance, when describing the strange fruit and its setting, the narrator describes [A] Pastoral scene of the gallant South, The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth (5 6). The two scenes presented to the reader are immensely contrasting, to the point that it is unsettling. However, the sentence s structure makes it seem as if such atrocities are an element of what makes the South so gallant and peaceful, further hinting at the South s acceptance of prejudice as part of its culture. In continuation with the description of the fruit, the author describes it as being for the crows to pluck, for the rain to gather, for the wind to suck, for the sun to rot, for the tree to drop (9 11). The parallel structure of the fruit being incessantly acted upon by another force is heavily repeated throughout the third stanza. Not only does this give the tone that this process has been occurring long enough to the point of becoming almost somewhat of a tradition, but it also shows the fruit, the person, being bruised over and over again until it becomes absolutely unprofitable. People may be unwilling to help because of the benefits and pride that comes with being able to put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Equilibrium Of Supply And Demand Equilibrium is important when it comes to not only maintain a successful business but to also maintain a successful economy in general. This determines the efficiency of the goods at a certain point. There are different factors that go into equilibrium such as supply and demand where the curves determine the cost to the consumer as well as the cost to supplier. Different costs of taxes, benefits of international trade, and externalities all go into how to maintain the supply and demand, and why it is so desirable To understand the equilibrium of supply and demand, you must first understand what each one means. Supply and demand work together to make the seller and consumer happy. The equilibrium needs to be balanced in order for both parties to be satisfied. Supply is the quantity of a good or item that is placed in the market for sale. Supply quantity is based on the price of the item, availability, and several cost factors. A manufacturer needs to have pricing set in order to keep a leading edge amongst the other competitors. A manufacturer has to keep up with the supply of their products in order for the demand to stay level. When the supply starts to dwindle or become unavailable, the consumer is the one to suffer. Depending on the product, they might be willing to pay a little extra if it s something they really want or need. The suppliers can increase the pricing to make their profits higher, as long as they don t out price themselves against the competitors. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is not what I want or what I find as an attractive trait or behavior. Items such as character, looks, race etc. should never be used, why well because they really have nothing to do with an individual s job behavior. As a manager myself I find it difficult to truly appraise individuals, for many reasons, one is that not everyone has the same job in my organization, two there are over 80 people that work in there so remember and playing back all work performance is often a difficult job for the 3 supervisors I have. Moving back on track; performance appraisals should encompass relevant performance standards and performance criteria in order to measure performance, which as stated in both the lecture notes and text is an elusive term. c. Specifically discuss the reasons why the authors of your text are generalizing that Performance Appraisal (PA) in public organizations is highly ineffective and problematic. The authors in the text generalize PA s in public service are highly ineffective and problematic for serval reasons such as the fact that about 20% of employees indicate that the appraisal system motivated them to do a better job. Every year I go on vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a week. We usually leave a few days after Christmas and come back a few days after New Years. I go with my grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, and some of my cousins. We have been going on this vacation for about six years, but at first it only started out as us going down for the weekend. The first two years we went to Myrtle Beach it was just me and my grandma and grandpa, but after that year some more of my family started to come down with us. This past year I had to wake up around 5 o clock so that I could get ready in time to leave early. The first thing I did was take a shower, then I finished packing my bags, and finally I got ready to leave. My grandma came and picked me up around 5:45 and we headed to her house. Once, we got to her house my grandpa was in the motor home and ready to go. We loaded the rest of the bags into the motor home and then we were on our way. After a long 5 hour drive (that I slept during most of) we made it to our destination. Once, we arrived at the Myrtle Beach State Park Campground we parked and hooked up the electricity and water to the motor home. When we arrived my aunt and uncle were already there and hooked up. When we were all straight, we headed to Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse. This steakhouse is a very expensive place to eat. It has a huge salad bar and people come around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. John Donne s Sonnet About Death John Donne s sonnet about death focuses on the popular opinion (then and now) of death and the process of dying. To Donne, death, a necessary passage to eternity, is pleasant and better than sleep, and many people give death more power and honor than he deserves. Because of its pleasure, Donne theorizes that death releases all pain and grief and is associated with only positive emotions. On the other hand, a rock song released in 2012 called The Fighter written by The Fray discusses the fear and pain associated with the experience of death. John Donne s tenth sonnet explores an attitude of death that people perceive it to be and what death really is according to ideas of Christian eternity and pleasure. These attitudes of death that Donne discusses in his sonnet oppose the attitudes of death in The Fray s song which portrays death as painful and frightening with affects of loneliness and despair. Donne s sonnet begins with an octet that addresses and describes Death as being incapable, pleasant, and powerless. To Donne, death is incapable of fully killing someone, for what death perceives as a person s end is only sleep in terms of Christianity. Sleep is a luxury and a necessity, so it follows that death is a luxury and a necessity in order to enter into eternal life (Chippchipp1). Donne admonishes death, telling it to not be proud or think that it has the power to kill someone, because if one holds to the Christian idea of eternity there is nothing to fear in death. ... Assisi Chapter 9 Summary The poor man of Assisi, Francis, had little education and lacked literacy skills, but these shortcomings did not become an obstacle in sharing the important message of the gospel. He was not a scholarly saint like Augustine or Thomas Aquinas. Yet, Francis dedication touched many through his religious writings and compilation of poems, songs and prayers. Francis was not a gifted student as a child and he received no university or seminary degree. His conversion experience came in the form of dreams where God commissioned him to rebuild His church and care for the poor. Chapter 10 The Death of Francis In 1225, Francis lived in Rieti and suffered many ailments. He was unable to eat, impacted by dropsy, edema excess water accumulation. Growing up, I was raised in a Christian background, specifically Methodist. Even though I respect the views of those who are not Christian, unfortunately not all Christians do that. Some Christians use their Christianity to judge those who are not living up to their expectations or those who are not righteous in their eyes. One day I wasn t able to bear my silence anymore. I had to speak up and stand for what I believe in. And so I did. During the youth meeting, the Youth Instructor was talking about how Matthew 6:1 talks about hypocrisy. Then I stood up and interrupted her. I remember saying, With all due respect, there s a question that has been on my mind. Why do some Christians I know try to use Christianity as a way to judge others and put others down? From what I m hearing we should not judge others but at the same time every time I walk into this church someone judges me and calls me a sinner but yet they ve forgotten we re all sinners. The North Korean People s Army At 4:00am on June 25, 1950, the North Korean People s Army (NKPA) crossed the 38th parallel in force and invaded South Korea with the objective of unifying the two Koreas into a single communist nation. General Douglas MacArthur would once again prove his value as a military commander with his conception of Operation Chromite, which directed how the UN forces would respond. MacArthur s unique gift in recognizing strategic opportunities, along with America s ability to quickly gather military assets and counter in force, were key to the success of the Operation Chromite landings at Inchon and turning the tide of the Korean War. From the moment their invasion began, NKPA experienced success against the UN forces, led by the United States and sent in to assist the South Korean Army. However, UN troops, all of which were now under the command of General MacArthur, were literally overwhelmed at the onslaught of the well equipped and experienced NKPA. By the end of July, UN forces had been driven into a small area in the southeast portion of the Korean Pennisula around the Port of Pusan (present day Busan). With the NKPA at their front, and the Sea of Japan at their back, UN forces were in dire straight and running out of options. This is an issue that many sociologists choose to analyze because of its relation to organizations and groups. In country music there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn t occur considerably in the songs I analyzed, it tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion Plays a key role in developing people s ideas about right and wrong (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major influence in many country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music. Country music is not a religion by any means, but the role of Christianity in the music can have a significant role in the way listeners determine what is right and wrong. Religion s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these tended to have a major reoccurrence in all of the songs. The question I can now answer is how does country music play a role into the fears and dreams of the listeners. In the lyrics there is a certain kind of language that the artists use to try and capture an image in the listener s head. In society, Language gives mean to the people, objects, events, and the ideas of our lives. If fact, language reflects and often determines reality (2015; 30). The reality is that the language in these songs gives to the listener can give them a dream of finding true love. The language gives hope to the listener that there is that one person they will love out there, but this also plays into the fear of heartbreak. Heartbreak was also discussed a great amount and is something that most people tend to fear. Another way that these songs play towards people s fears and dreams is through social class and money. While social class is one of the most common issues, the lyrics and videos manage to give followers the images of how a luxurious lifestyle can lead to happiness and love. This pain may be due to a terminal illness and suffering as well as those in an irreversible coma. This practice of doctor assisted suicide is illegal in many countries, but is increasing in popularity as people start to recognize the positive aspects that euthanasia has to offer for those that fit the criteria. Euthanasia is essential for those, placed in such life diminishing situations, and whom no longer want to experience suffering. This is where the issue gets complicated, and many religious groups argue that individuals should not have the legal right to choose whether they get to die or not, but that it is simply in God s hands. Suffering patients argue that they should be given the right to choose whether or not they have to experience this suffering, to end their life with the dignity they still have, and to alleviate the stress that their deteriorating life conditions have on their families, themselves and the entire healthcare system. Therefore, despite the many arguments, euthanasia can have a very positive impact on the lives and families of suffering individuals, as well as the Canadian healthcare system. The United States was acknowledged as one of the leading world powers in the late 19th century, following the Cold War. This power came to be as a result of significant domestic industrialization and widespread international influence. However, China s case is a bit more complex. It s rise to power was marked by the Communist Party s completion of its sixth 5 year plan in 1982. Despite the country s rapid development, much corruption and violence had occurred in its beginning years. Still, China will likely not repeat the same mistakes and will avoid international conflict in its advancement. This can be predicted by examining the country s current economic growth, stable relationships with trading partners, and their keen focus on keeping citizens satisfied with the government. The Chinese Communist revolution, beginning in 1949, signified the start of the country s desire for social, political, and economic change. Mao Zedong, founder of the People s Republic of China, grew up in poverty and aimed to dismantle a system of inequality and oppression. His platform was enticing and quickly supported by many. In 2005 the residential garage door industry sales were expected to reach $2.2 billion with 90% of sales being steel garage doors. Demand for replacement garage doors was driven by the continued aging of the housing stock and the conversion of homeowners from wood doors to lighter weight, easier to maintain steel doors. Also, product innovations such as insulated steel doors, new springing systems, and residential garage doors with improved safety features have made steel doors increasingly popular. B. Industry analysis in Pyramid s trade area: Pyramid Door s projected market share for 2005 was 2.6%. • 31. New York Giants Case Study Josh Brown is a NFL kicker for the New York Giants who was recently suspended. The reasoning behind his suspension were allegations on the grounds of domestic violence. Though the charges were dropped due to lack of cooperation from Brown s wife and the local law enforcement, Brown still had to sit out on the opening season game. Many fans of the Giants were outraged by that ruling. That outrage would subside though since Brown will return for the rest of the season. Although maybe not as a Giant for long, for another experienced kicker named Randy Bullock will fill in for Brown. This could lead to a competitive next few games between the two kickers. Either one could be the future kicker for the New York Giants. Only time and the coaches twitter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Essay about analysis of Edmund Spenser s sonnet 67 Edmund Spenser Sonnet 67 Edmund Spenser s Sonnet 67 is one of 85 sonnets from Amoretti which was written about his courtship of Elizabeth Boyle. Spenser and Boyle were married in 1594. Sonnet 67 uses a hunting themed metaphor common in 16th century England comparing the woman to a deer and the man to a huntsman in pursuit. Sonnet 67 appears to have been inspired by an earlier work by Petrarch, Rima 190, but with a different ending. In this paper we will take an in depth look at this work, also commonly referred to as Lyke as a Huntsman . First we will take a look at a literal interpretation of Sonnet 67. This piece begins with a huntsman in pursuit. His stalked prey, a deer, has gotten away from him. He is tired and sick of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The gentle deare returnd the selfe same way, (Spenser ll. 7) shows that the woman comes back towards the man. Spenser uses the word deare instead of deer to allude to the metaphor of the deer actually being a woman that he cares for very much. However, she did not return to him specifically but just happened upon him in her search for someone or something else, Thinking to quench her thirst at the next brooke (Spenser ll. 8). Now we will look at the second half of Sonnet 67, also in a metaphorical sense. The woman sees that the man is no longer chasing after her There she beholding me with mylder looke, (Spenser ll. 9) and suddenly decides he might not be such a bad suitor after all Sought not to fly, but fearelesse still did bide: (Spencer ll.10). Spenser turns this piece around from the original Petrarch piece here. He shows that it is the woman that is in control as opposed to the man. He reaches out to her nervously because she has been running from him all this time and now she seems to be encouraging and wanting his affections. He appears hopeful that his sentiments will be well received by the woman and at the same time fearful of rejection. But she allows him to court her now and encourages him to love her instead of playing hard to get and running off again Till I in hand her yet halfe trembling tooke, / And with her owne goodwill hir fyrmely tyde (Spenser ll. 11 and 12). The man then thinks that it seems very odd to see the woman who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hope Valley Character Analysis POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT: Typically, viewers can count on my reviews being spoiler free, but there is a chance that I may reveal something you didn t know or hadn t heard. I try to stay away from all discussion and press about the show before I watch it, and some of you are probably like me in that respect. So if you are, I advise you to quit reading right now. However, if you are dying to know what may or may not be included in the upcoming premiere, read on. But know you have been warned. First of all, if you perused my reviews for season two, you may be surprised to hear that I wasn t always enthusiastic about that particular season. While I admired and appreciated what they did and faithfully reviewed it, I found myself missing Hope Valley, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Are these two related? Were they partners in crime? I don t sense we can trust what Aren says, and he knows enough to destroy Pastor Frank, but will he do it? Only time will tell. I thought I recognized Aren, and when I checked out his resume, I noticed a couple former works of his (Trading Christmas and A Mother s Nightmare). I remember him most from the latter of those works, but he is probably familiar to many of the viewers. We are cognizant of the fact that he is a despicable character from the beginning, but the single ladies of the town had better take heed. I am persuaded that we have not seen the last of this talented actor and his wayward character. And one of those girls who had better beware is Clara. I was ecstatic to see Eva return as I have been watching her career develop for a few years now. As she has gained more experience and finally seemed to have found her footing in this series, she is excellent as the daughter in law of Abigail who lost her husband the same time Abigail hers the apalling mine ...
