What Does It Mean To Be A Girl
It s a girl! Most parents fantasize about hearing those precious and promising words because soon a
little girl will make its way into their life and she will be sweet, innocent, and pure. Nothing will
hurt that child, but unfortunately those parents are blinded by the happiness of the moment and do
not realize that the little girlwill grow up and be worth less than her husband and she will be worth
less in society. In Merriam Webster s Unabridged Dictionary the word girl means a femalechild
from birth to adulthood, but in addition to this simple word there holds an immense amount of
meaning. Four letters and that s all it takes for someone to roll their eyes and laugh because that
word is linked to weakness, negativity, and obnoxious... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a girl you are expected to break, but in reality girls have to pretend nothing will break them or
they will again be judged by society. This tends to be the case because if a girl breaks it will just
add fire to the sexist prejudices put upon them as a gender. In Serena Nanda s article Arranging a
Marriage in India, she talks about her research in India, when a son s parents are looking for a
wife for their son they have a very long list of expectations. She should be from the same caste
system, pretty, not too intelligent, meshes with the family well, doesn t stray from home, nor
does she gossip or call home a lot, and the most important thing is that she is pure before
marriage. Though these expectations tend to look somewhat different in the U.S. they have the
same ideas. A girl should be boxed in away from society and taking care of the children or
perhaps being a good cook to put it into simpler terms because that is what society unfairly tells
us a girl should be able to do. Serena also talks about how it is very important for a girl to protect
the family name and in no way ever disgrace it. If that girl does disgrace the family (for example
not staying pure) it is not uncommon for her brother or even cousin to murder her. Why is a
family s expectations based on what a girl does? These unrealistic expectations push girls too far
and cause us to think our worth is less because we cannot do it all, even though society thinks that s
the least we could

Characteristics Of The Knight In The Canterbury Tales
Although some knights were depicted as being selfish and careless about others, there were some
knights who were depicted as possessing heroic qualities such as strength, courage, selflessness, and
many more.
The Knight in The Canterbury Tales, by Geoffrey Chaucer, is one example of a knight who
possesses heroic qualities. There was a Knight a most distinguished man, who from the day on
which he first began to ride abroad had followed chivalry, truth, honour, and generousness and
courtesy (Chaucer 4). The Knight is a generous and courteous man and fights with honor and
fidelity, as a hero should. The narrator in The Canterbury Talesalso calls the Knight wise and a ...
true, perfect gentle knight (Chaucer 5). Not only was he a gentle Knight, but a strong Knight as
well because of the various battles he participated in. These traits that the Knight possessed that the
narrator in The Canterbury Tales seems to fond over are reminiscent of a true hero. A hero is said
to be strong, kind, brave, selfless, and loyal. The Knight fits this description almost perfectly. The
Knight is not the only knight in the Middle Ages that was depicted as being a hero.
Lancelot, although possessing some antiheroic traits, possessed qualities of a hero as well. In
The Knight of the Cart, at the beginning of Lancelot s quest to save Guinevere, he runs into a
dwarf who is riding the shaft of a cart. He asks the dwarf if he has seen Guinevere at all, but the
dwarf does not give him any information and instead tells him to get in the cart and he will
know by morning of what happened to Guinevere. Riding a cart during those times was not a
good thing. The cart was for all criminals alike, for all traitors and murders... the guilty person
was taken and made to mount in the cart... he had lost all his feudal rights and never heard at
court (Troyes 211). At first, Lancelot hesitated for a couple of seconds, but then he decided to
ride in the cart, knowing the repercussions of doing it. This shows Lancelot as a selfless
individual because he was focused on rescuing Guinevere. Lancelot sacrificed his reputation for
Guinevere. By stressing how shameful it is to ride in the cart, ChrГ©tien thereby stresses how
noble it is of Lancelot to so

How Does Ray Bradbury Use Descriptive Language In All...
In all summer in a day by Ray Bradbury, He shows how he uses descriptive language and
metaphors to tell the story more in depth and in more detail. The story is about how a girl
(Margot) is on a new planet and the sun only comes every 7 years for just one hour. And her
classmates are being mean because she remembers the sunand they don t believe her because last
time the sun came they were only 2 or 3 years old.
They only know the sun by blushing the Author says. This shows a way of metaphor, because
this is the only way they see or feel the sun, when it is not there. The other day they red a book,
about the sun. They said it was like a lemon it was big and yellow. Also one classmate says I think
the sun is a flower, that blooms for

WW1 CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES World War One 1914 18 described, as the great war

Middle East, America and Russia. The even that lead to the most significant events in the 1900s,

Violence And The Problem Of Sexual And Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence is an issue that keeps increasing. The abusers usually have issues such as,
drinking, major aggression problems, and some may even have a mental illness. In domestic
violence there are many different types of abuse that a person can go through. Domestic Violence is
the most common but there is also Sexual and Mental Violence. There are many problems that lead
up to domestic violencebut also thereВґs many solutions.
A major problem of domestic violence is the abuser is gaining control over someone and their
life. ВЁDomestic violence and abuse are used for one purpose and one purpose only: to gain and
maintain total control over you. An abuser doesn t play fair. (domestic violence)ВЁ. The abuser
(man or woman) uses fear, shame, guilt, and will use the people you love against someone. The
abuser also threatens them and hurts them and people around them that they could run to for
help. The abuser uses their fear of them, makes them feel like they re worthless, makes all the
money and isolates them from family and friends unless they are there to keep them from telling
family or friends about what s going on or leaving them.
Many abusers have a drinking problem, and this is also another big leading cause to abuse.
Research shows that drinking and alcohol abuse lead to physical aggression. People who tend to
already have a problem with anger and drink get so much worse and get out of control. ВЁAlcohol
use has been reported in between 25 percent and 85 percent

Analysis Of We Are The 99 Percent
Can a simple phrase ignite change? History gives us the answer. The essay, We Are the 99 percent
Joins the Cultural and Political Lexicon by Brian Stelter tells us the succession of the protestors for
the wage gap implementing the phrase into the minds of millions of Americans. Stelter then goes
on to talk about the we are the 99 percent phraseused at rally s or protests to show how much the
rich are outnumbered. Stelter explains the catchphrase and the different ways it is used and how it
is impacting society. He then shows the history of what can be if something is said, especially if
what is said is true. By utilizing rhetorical devices such as ethos, logos, and bandwagon the author
conveys the message that the phrase We Are The 99 Percent is burned into the minds of millions of
Americans.
Stelter uses ethos to help his argument that the people of the Occupy movement have implanted
We are the 99 percent into the minds of the people in the country. Stelter uses quotes from
platforms around the country to show that the activists have gotten the word out about the 99
percent . For example, Stelter goes to Congress to show the Democrats in Congress began to
invoke the 99 percent (679) to help pass a bill established by president Obama for the Jobs Act.
Congress knew that if they use this slogan they could get most of the appeal from the 99 percent
knowing that they felt underappreciated from the one percent in the financial standpoint. Using this
evidence

Role Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451
Are world is becoming a place full of a bunch of mindless consumers that can t think for
themselves. We are not capable of thinking deeply because we have all these things around us
distracting us like advertisements and we always have things in ours ears like headphones just like
the seashell earpieces in Fahrenheit 451. We are not capable of electing politicians based on real
issues we just vote for the best looking politician and think he is automatically the best. We also
can t communicate with each other there is too much technology and if we do interact with
people it involves technology and no one really is interested in books they are immersed in their
devices and tvs. Today s world is turning into Fahrenheit 451 s world we are not capable of
thinking deeply we are not capable of electing politicians based on real issues and we are not
capable of communicating with each other. In Fahrenheit 451 s world they are not capable of

Examining the shape of children s development allows us to understand it better. Every childhood
is distinct, and is the first chapter in a new biography. This chapter is about children s physical and
cognitive development. These are some of the questions we will explore:
Do children develop in distinct stages, or is their development smoother and more continuous?
How do children develop physically, and how does this affect their behaviour and learning?
What is the best way to characterize students cognitive development? How might knowledge of
students cognitive development influence the way you teach?

Greek Philosopher, 4th Century B.C.
EXPLORING HOW CHILDREN DEVELOP
Twentieth century philosopher George Santayana once reflected, Children are on a different plane.
They belong to a generation and way of feeling properly their own. Let s explore what that plane is
like.
Why Studying Children s Development Is Important
Why study children s development? As a teacher, you will be responsible for a new wave of
children each year in your classroom. The more you learn about children s development, the more
you can understand at what level it is appropriate to teach them.
Childhood has become such a distinct phase of the human life span that it is hard to imagine that it
was not always thought of in that way. However, in medieval times, laws generally did not
distinguish between child and adult offences and children were often treated like miniature adults.
Today we view children quite differently than was the case in medieval times. We conceive of
childhood as a highly eventful and unique time of life that lays an important foundation for the
adult years and is highly differentiated from them. We identify distinct periods within childhood in
which children master special skills and confront new life tasks. We value childhood as a special
time of growth and change, and we invest great resources in caring for and educating our children.
We protect them from the excesses of adult work through

The standing practice was that currency would remain in the hands of the military administration
while valuables had to be transferred to the
Reich Central Bank in Berlin. In return for these valuables, the central bank transferred cash to
the local administration equivalent to the value of the items it had received (Arad 22). While
the practices of this are inequitable, in the eyes of their Nazi dictatorship, it was considered fair.
They would take the property of another human being and sell it so they could help their war

Abstract Mixed Signal Design in today s industry is witnessing an increasing dominance by
CMOS technology. With an increasing demand for miniature audio, video and other
communication devices, the design of effective mixed signal devices is becoming extremely
critical. The design of a mixed signal system is extremely complicated due to intricacies of analog
design and the problems encountered in the integration of analog and digital sub systems. The
design process is best accomplished by transistor level schematics and simulation. This can be
attributed to the lack of fully developed modelling languages and automation tools in the realm of
mixed design. The aim of this research is to explore the possibility of a significant improvement in

What Is Human Nature In The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
Readers connections to The Lottery by Shirley Jackson establish that human nature in the modern
era is flawed; eventually, resulting in fallacious and faulty actions. Faulty actions and aspects of
human nature are related to outdated traditions and Old Man Warner. The theory of evolutionary
psychology applies to the situation and is essential to explaining some of the reasons for this
occurrence.
Human nature has developed over the timeline of our existence and a theory of explaining human
nature is through evo psych. This theory explains mental and psychological traits that humans have
gained due to natural selection (Science Daily, 2016). The behavior shown in this story is what
would be expected because of the ways human s ancestors would have had to live ... Show more

Human nature can be seen as a culmination of every survival mechanism obtained through natural
selection. They can be added on but never deleted, the mechanisms are carried in our genetic
instructions. Many survival mechanisms become obsolete and are no longer needed to survive in
the world like wisdom teeth which many humans remove because of their negative effects. The
difference between wisdom teeth, a biological mechanism, and behavioral patterns is that
behavioral patterns are exceptionally difficult to notice. Old Man Warner is representative of a
survival mechanism which no longer serves a purpose. Old Man Warner being an Old Man likely
doesn t serve a purpose in the community other than to perpetuate an outdated tradition: a large
portion of his dialogue also makes little sense further insinuating this notion. The lottery is a
portrayal of the faulty actions and events that take place due to outdated survival mechanisms: they

Essay on Home Schooling vs Public School
Home Schooling vs. Public Schooling

If you have children that are school age you have probably have thought about the options of home
schooling vs. public schooling. You most likely have thought about how much would it cost or the
amount of time it takes to teach home schooling. With the news articles out there about things that
happen at schools you most likely have thought about how that would be on your child as well. One
of the last things that most parents think about when choosing to home school or not is how your
child s social skills will develop. There are many different articles out there on this topic. The
following essay will give you an indebt description of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First we have to look at the home situation. It is not a secret that not all homes are perfect, but a
structured environment can lead to healthy study habits. Now the same can happen in a school
environment for some children. So, in turn, those children can start to act out for the stress that
comes with a school environment. When there is a healthy home environment, these children
would be comfortable and be able to focus on the task at hand. Another reason a child might not
misbehave is because they know the consequences for their actions at home. When a child is in
a public school, there might not be much that can be done when a child misbehaves and does
something that is wrong. One of the biggest influences for children in public schools is other
children. Almost everything children do is to look cool in front of their friend or to be popular.
Children will tend to misbehave when their friends are pressuring them to do so. Peer pressure
is a hard thing to deal with for a child. When children are home schooled, there is much less
pressure to be cool and there is more time to focuses on classwork. Now one of the last things
that parents worry about for their children is how their social skills will develop if they are home
schooling their children. Most people would argue that the children are not developing the social
skills needed, because they do not interact with other children their own age. The University of
Florida s Larry Shyers,

Money Can Buy Happiness
Can money buy you happiness? It is a classical debate, sparked by the left wing communists and
religious leaders who suggest that a person can live a full life without the pursuit of money, and
instead one must look to a more spiritual existence above the material desires. It is perhaps
conceivable in a century gone by where people grew all their food and believed in witches, that a
human could forge a fulfilling existence without the needof money to satisfy our desires. However
in today s society money can not only buy happiness, but is a major factor for happiness. Findings
by the Institute of Economic Affairs show that happiness levels correlate with the amount of wealth
a person accumulates. And, in contrast to popular belief, it does... Show more content on

Stress can affect both your body and your mind, people can become exhausted, sick and unable
to focus. It is the complete reverse of happiness. For someone who is better off financially bills
occupy much less of their time and thus stress is eliminated from their lives. Home life can be
miserable and tense when money is scarce. Couples bicker on average 2,455 times a year and of
that number issues of money equate to 315 arguments. Money buys security and an un troubled
existence, money relieves financial stress and thus helps increase happiness.
If someone was to offer you a million dollars, no strings attached, would you accept it? Chances
are you would, and you would be happy about it because money can buy happiness. In life we have
the option to live how we want, no one forces us to live a consumerist lifestyle. We choose to. You
know there must be a connection to money and happiness. If there weren t, no one would work
for that lucrative promotion, perhaps no one work at all. Why would we spend all our lives
pursuing it? For those living in third world countries that may be happy, it is unfortunately
because it s a case of they can t miss what they ve never had. Our society has made money a factor
of happiness and I don t hear anyone complaining. If money can t buy you happiness then you are
not spending it

This reflects their intentions of following Christ. They are not following to help him, but find
fault with him. Many of the people at the pool of Bethesda are waiting for the disturbance of the
water so that they may be healed of their illnesses by it miraculous powers. In the painting, Bloch
s use of color depicts the water as dirty implying that it may not have miraculous powers that the
people believe it does. The elderly man had not been able to bathe in these waters and be healed
from his disease for thirty eight years. When Christ heals this man, he does not help him to the
water; he tells him to rise and walk and he is healed. Christ is the one that the people should
believe in to be healed. This shows that Christ being a perfect being wants to help those in need
and he is the one that has the power to perform miracles. Bloch effectively uses body position in the
painting Christ Healing at the Pool of Bethesda to add to the theme of Christ being there to help
people.
In the painting Christ s position shows his willingness and ability to heal the elderly man. His left
hand is lifted the shelter of cloth the man is under, literally shows that Christ can lift the sick and
heal them or can lift the burdens which befall them. Christ s right hand gesture is inviting and
shows his love and willingness to help toward the elderly man. The elderly man s hands are starting
to reach up towards Christ, trusting and accepting his help.

The Evolving Nexus between Islam and Iran Essay
The Evolving Nexus between Islam and Iran
The nexus between Islam and Iran is a complex one. Islam was brought to Iran via Arab Islamic
conquest in 650 AD and has played a shifting, anomalous role in this nation state ever since. The
ideas of nationalism, secularism, religion, and revolution are unique in this Muslim country.
Iranians, unlike many of their neighbors, hold on very strongly to their pre Islamic roots and
achievements; sentiments of nationalism are apparent throughout Iranian history and in the
everyday conversations of Iranians. In order to illustrate the role of Islam in Iran and the
contemporary Iranian situation, I will analyze the concept of an Islamic state, the legitimacy of
Islam in modern day Iran with notes on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As the sole Muslim nation that installed Islamic principles into the political arena through a

the paradox of the question, as it embodies both the notion of an Islamic state and a modern

enterprise of this writing.

The Passionate Shepherd to His Love and The Nymph’s Reply...
The Passionate Shepherd to His Love and The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd: A comparison
The Passionate Shepherd to His Love was written by Christopher Marlowe. The poem describes
a shepherd s plea to someone he loves urging them to live with him. Marlowe uses imagery to
describe the scenery around the shepherd and his love. The shepherd tries to convince her how
happy they will be, surrounded by mountain yields and groves in stanza one. Marlowe does not
only use imagery in his poem but he also describes the aroma And a thousand fragrant posies. He
creates a tranquil atmosphere by describing the harmonious sound in the second and third stanzas.

In the first stanza she says that if everything that the shepherd had said to her was true she would
live with him and be his love. However she tries to bring him to his senses and make him realize
that things do change and nothing is permanent. The flowers do fade and wanton fields To
wayward Winter reckoning yields. In the quotation above she is expressing the idea that when
winter comes the flowers will no longer be in their full bloom. Again in the fourth stanza the
nymph tells the shepherd that beds of roses and posies will not last in winter. Sir Walter Ralegh
uses the nymph to make the point that spring changes to autumn as youth changes to old age and
because of this she will not live with the shepherd. This conveys the impermanence of nature and
by implication the impermanence of love. In comparison with the shepherd s description it is a
more brutal but realistic portrayal of love. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love is an idealistic
poem with fairytale images of country life whilst Sir Walter Ralegh s poem parodies the style of a
love letter. The poems are similar in that they are connected by a question and answer form. Both
poems have similar structures as they both have six stanzas and rhyming couplets. The rhyming
couplets stress the last word of the sentence drawing attention to them helping the reader to
understand the poem.

The Importance Of Kindergarten Readiness
Some may base a young child s kindergarten readiness on mental abilities or academic skills. A
skill that is just as important is a child s self regulation. Self regulation in young children involves
the ability to control behaviors, emotions, attention, and thinking. Self regulation is a theory, so
there isn t a single satisfactory definition of the term created by developmentalists. In order to
track a child s progress in terms of their self regulation skill, as well as other domains, it is
appropriate protocol to observe and assess children.
A child s success in academic and social domains during kindergarten relies on the child s
kindergarten readiness. Kindergarten readiness is not solely based on academic abilities; it also
depends on other aspects, such as the essential skill of self regulation. In the article Refining the
Preschool Self regulation Assessment for Use in Preschool Classrooms, the authors found that
there is a growing interest in young children s self regulation skills. One goal of the authors was
to examine any noticeable differences between children s age, gender, or socioeconomic risk in

The Apartheid Of Apartheid And Apartheid
Colonial inheritance has had a serious effect on all Africans lives and has irreversibly changed the
continent and its people forever. The impact of apartheid is evident when analyzing Mxolisi and
Nelson Mandela s lives. Both men were exposed to similar oppressive environments as they lived
in South Africaduring apartheid, though their stories show generational differences. Mandela was
an activist early in the apartheid regime and then spent a significant period of his life in jail until
the end of the regime as he took part in reassessment of apartheid and negotiations. Mxolisi was
born and raised during Apartheid and much of his experiences growing up took place while
Mandela was in jail. These two men were both victims of colonial inheritance and apartheid, which
lead them to extreme measures as they acted in protest of an oppressive government with the hope
that they might gain back power, rights, and freedom for themselves and the South African people.
Decolonization was sweeping across the African continent during the 1950 s and during this time in
South Africa, apartheid was being solidified by a white minority government. Early anti apartheid
struggles were predominantly non violent until the 1960 Sharpeville incident when police opened
fire on an unarmed group of demonstrators (Reid 292). Activists and groups such as the African
National Congress(ANC) became more violent because the government in charge was using violent

Summary Of Let s Really Reform Our Schools By Anita Garland
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Nelson
Mandela). In Let s Really Reform Our Schools by Anita Garland she discusses how schools need
to change to help students succeed. Garland states, We need to completely restructure our thinking
about what schools are and what we expect of the students who attend them (620). Garland wants
to better schools, so students can be successful. Garland makes a strong argument when she states
schools need uniforms, better food and to remove disruptive students. If schools do so there will
w a better learning environment. If schools require uniforms students will not spend as much time
laying out their outfits each night. Students would not struggle with self image as much, since
everyone would be wearing the same outfit. Garland states, Kids from modest backgrounds could

European Superiority In The Hobbit
Over the course of our readings, I have noticed a sense of european superiority within High
Fantasy. What I mean by this is the sense of greater and lesser races such as the dwarves and

seems as though certain groups within High Fantasy often think of themselves as more virtuous and
justified than others, however, I would argue that some of their actions would not be considered
righteous. This mindset is very similar to that of Europeans throughout history as they often

What Is The Theme Of The Starry Night By Vincent Van Gogh
In 1889 Vincent van Gogh painted The Starry Night from his room in an asylum. Most artists
paintings have something to do with their lives. This painting has a lot of different brush textures
with a lot of little details. It looks like a calm quiet night by the tone of the colors, but somewhere
there is something going on, hence the flames. By just glancing at this it may seem like there is not
much going on but by looking at some parts closely, it is noticeable. In the painting The Starry Night
by Vincent van Goghthere is a bunch of different textures added to the painting with details of a
small town during the night time.
Everyone can agree that the painting appears to be at night due to the color schemes. Choosing
cool tones instead of using vivid colors gives the interpretation on what time of day it is. The
color that is spread all throughout the painting is dark blue with a variety of types of blue fading
off. Someone that just takes a glimpse may think there are just blobs of yellow in the sky,
however if you concentrate you will realize they represent stars. The stars have a center dot in the
middle with yellow and white shades fading off into the sky making them extremely bright. Back
in the day any light that came from the sky was the source of light once the sun went down. In the
top left corner, you can notice the crest of the moon, that is vividly shaded in with a dark yellow.

No Arabic in and English Class
1.0 Introduction
According to the ministry of education in Kuwait it has always been a sin when teach ers use
Arabic in an English class, even if it is to clarify a certain aspect that students could not grasp.
Well, whether we like it or not, Learners of L2 tend to use L1 when learning the target language,
this argument has been proven by a number of re searchers (Atkinson, 1987; Auerbach, 1993;
Cook, 2001; Nation, 2003), and ignoring it or pretending that it is not happening might lead to
pedagogical implications.
Decision makers in ELT unit in the Ministry of Education, who adopt the notion that us ing Arabic
when teaching English is a taboo , have to hear the other voice that considers the use of L1 when
teaching L2 is very helpful and works to facilitate the learning process.
Hence, the current research comes to shed light on the importance of using L1 when teaching L2
and how we can utilise it and use it as a useful tool. Also this research will try to change the
common notion that using Arabic in English class is a deficiency.

The Triangle Factory Fire Of 1911
The Triangle Factory Fire of 1911 The Industrial Revolution is remembered as a major turning
point in U.S. history. During this time, there were advancements in technology, an abundance of
natural resources, cheap labor and investment capital. Industrialization led to the development of
factories, which led to the increase in jobs for many immigrants. These advancements clearly
overshadowed the harsh working conditions for many of these factory workers. In 1911, The
Triangle Factory Fire was a clear representation of the dangers when the focus is on cheap labor
production instead of the wellbeing of the factory workers. The Triangle Waist Company,
manufactured women s clothing and was located in the heart of Manhattan. This company,
owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris, occupied the floors of the Asch Building. The factory
attracted many people in desperate need of work. This consequently led to the workers being
taken advantage of by paying them very low wages. They often worked excessively long hours
without adequate compensation, and the safety or work conditions were also of no importance.
Around the same time other factories were actually standing up and protesting the harsh working
conditions in what is known as sweatshops. Even after the cloakmakers strike of 1910, which
established a grievance system, most working conditions did not improve. Also a lot of the workers

Millenials are the shoppers of the future with a multitrillion dollar opportunity for the grocery

Logos In Thank You For Smoking
Title
In the film Kinsey, directed by Bill Condon, Professor Alfred Kinsey uses science to explore and
inform the public on sex and during this era, sex was inappropriate to talk about.
On the other hand, In the movie Thank You for Smoking, directed by Jason Reitman, lobbyist
Nick Naylor defends and advocates the use of cigarettes in the country. Kinsey s argumentation
possesses logic and science, however Naylor possess more charisma, ethos, and an appeal to the
audience. Kinsey utilizes logos by having research and science justify his action and his life s
work on the sexual behaviors on men and women. However, Kinsey s research upsets private
matters at home and also rattles up the public. At home, Kinsey is manipulative towards his wife ...

Naylor s ethos is shown when he is in the conference with the senator. Naylor understands the
audience already knows that smoking is bad for oneself, so he pointed his finger to the real killer
in America, and the killer is Cholesterol or rather Virginia Cheese. Naylor understood that the
leading cause of death in America is heart disease or heart related problems. Naylor s stance on
this subject is that if you want a warning label on his cigarette, then the senator should have a
warning label that says cheese is a killer in America. Naylor shows that cheese is a killer,
however has a good connotation about itself. And right after, the senator asked, Will you give
your son his first cigarette? Naylors replied, if he wants a cigarette, I would happily buy him
one. Naylor is not an advocate for smoking; Naylor is an advocate for freedom of choice. Naylors
idea of smoking is that it s the duty of parents, teachers, and others to inform children to make
choices for themselves, not just because someone s mom says that smoking is bad for you. Naylor
shows in this instance of combining both logos and ethos of using science and the emotions of
others to influence his audience and win the

Old Hollywood Case Study
In the Motion Picture Patent Company (Old Hollywood) era there was an emphasis on those that
were producing and directing the movies. With the production team as the focal point, this
allowed the production company to keep most of their profit by not having to pay actors top
dollar prices. This system also instilled control over the actors, by keeping their names from being
promoted not many people would know of the actor allowing the production companies to maintain
their exclusive access to said actor. These regulations also prevent actors from asking for higher
pay. According to Britannica.com, The MPPC also had exclusive regulations on equipment such as
the camera itself and raw filmthrough Kodak allowing them to keep production cost down.... Show

Most Rewarding Occupation Research Paper
Most Rewarding Occupation Reflection I believe when it comes down to picking out what
occupation is the most rewarding would have to be a police officer. Police officers have to
always be ready for any situation that may arise in their city. Some time they can be thrown in
scary situations like teenager wreck or accidents with small kids. These are the type of times
when a cop has to be mentally able to handle the situation and provide the most help he can. I one
day want to be a state trooper so I know now after this paper that there is a lot to look forward to.

Strategies And Instructional Methods Between Collaborative...
The terms cooperative and collaborative teaching sometimes are used correspondingly. In the
context of education, collaborative and cooperative teaching refers to the strategies and
instructional methods of teaching where the teacher guides the students in groups of various
abilities, working together and helping each of them to complete a course or project work
provided. However in fact, both methods are very different and this is very important to understand
that the differences between these two methods can be understood. Collaboration is a philosophy of
interaction and personal lifestyle where individuals are responsible for their actions, including
learning and respect the abilities and contributions of their peers; This is because, it is clear that
collaborative learning itself emphasizes interaction between group members and not the end result
of a task. In other contexts it can be stated that the quantity is focused and not quality. Thus, this

Holocaust Concentration Camps The Holocaust nearly made the Jewish population and religion
disappear from the face of the Earth. From January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945; Adolf Hitler,
German politician and leader of the Nazi party, ran the Holocaust all over Germany and Eastern
Europe. Prisoners and victims of the Holocaust include: the majority of the Jewish population,
German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Roma (Gypsies), Jehovah s Witnesses,
homosexuals, and people accused of socially deviant or socially unacceptable behavior. They were
sent to many different areas that had different purposes. The most used places they were sent are
called concentration camps. Once they entered the concentration camps, there was no escaping;
those people officially became prisoners. There were 23 main concentration camps and around 900
sub camps. Concentration camps tricked the Jewish people into coming into them by offering them
a better life on the welcoming signs outside. Some of the main camps had many different
inhumane uses. All of the camps are notorious for their cruel and evil ways of everything that they
did to prisoners, such as the genocide the Holocaust caused. A lesser known camp, Westerbork, is
located in the Netherlands. This concentration camp was known as a Transit camp, which meant it
wasn t the end of the line for the prisoners that arrived there. These camps were a temporary

Brown V Board Of Education
Landmark Supreme Court Cases пЃ¬Brown v Board of Education (1954) пѓ The Background: In
the 1950 s, schools were separated by race. Linda Brown and her sister had to walk down a
dangerous railroad switchyard to get to the bus stop to their all black elementary school. There was
an all white school closer to the Brown s house, and the Brown family believed that segregated
schools violated the Constitution. пѓ The Constitutional Issue: This issue violated the Equal
Protection Clause of the Fourteenth amendment because segregated schools for people of race are
unconstitutional and unequal. пѓ The Outcome: The Supreme Court states that segregated schools
could never be equal to each other. The Court decided that laws requiring separate schools
violated the Fourteenth Amendment. This decision supports that all people are equal. As a
student, I am affected because people of different race are welcome to go to school where I go to
school. пЃ¬Mapp v Ohio (1961) пѓ The Background: The police were suspicious of Dollree Mapp
hiding a person suspected in a bombing. They went to her house and demanded entrance, but Mapp
would not let them in because they did not have a warrant. The police broke into her house and
found evidence of crime. At the trial, the police could not show their warrant at the U.S. Supreme
Court. пѓ The Constitutional Issue: This violated the Fourth Amendment, because the Fourth
Amendment protects the people from unreasonable search and seizure by the government. пѓ The

Madness Of Heracles Essay
Euripides The Madness of Heracles offers a critical reassessment of what the term aretД“ and its
associations meant for the people of ancient Greece. Heracles journey through many states of mind
during the play, and the loss and regaining of his moral virtue give insight into, and trace the
transition of, the term as it reshapes itself through time.
Traditionally, the term aretД“ refers almost exclusively to warrior related attributes, such the
physical strength, stature, vigour and valour essential for those primed for battle. Possession of
these noble qualities, according to Homer, proved one s excellence . Heracles undoubtedly
demonstrates his worthiness of the epithet as he proved his prowess in combat time and again
during the completion of his labours. Amphitryon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience is thus inclined to mistrust his words, yet cannot help but muse on the eloquent
attempt Lycus makes at twisting Heracles heroism into cowardice. Scholar Isabella Torrance
argues that despite Lycus character, his qualms with Heracles archery are able to cast doubt on
Heracles valour . However, Amphitryon comes to Heracles defence, and retorts that Heracles
decision to use a bow is actually the wiser choice, as it ensures the safety of the user. He accuses
Lycus of employing stale rhetoric , thus insinuating that the audience should be bored by Lycus
superfluousness and pay little attention to his claims. Thus by turning the tables on Lycus attempt
to slander Heracles, Amphitryon simultaneously makes a fool of Lycus, and by contrast
introduces the notion of Heracle s intellectual aretД“. Heracles swift and easy killing of Lycus,
the supposedly powerful usurper of Thebes, also reinforces Heracles physical aretД“. At this point
in the play, Heracles heroism is unquestionable. To the people of ancient Greece, Heracles would
have been seen to uphold all the aspects of a mighty

Native Americans During The 20th Century
Throughout the history of America the thought of assimilation has been fought for and against.
Many people, such as the Native Americans, were forcibly stripped of their culture and
Americanized. Others, such as the German Americans, willingly assimilated in political views but
tried to hold onto their culture. All of these situations lead to hatred from white Americans at some
point throughout our history. The Native Americans during the westward expansion, German
Americans during WWI, and Japanese immigrants during WWII. Even though some of these people
had already assimilated, the fear that remained constant was the belief that people of different races
and ethnicities were savages. That other cultures were an affront and could not... Show more content

His belief was that if they accept God and the rules of a civilized community they would become
useful members of American life. Pratt spoke to reformers of the time about the importance of
citizenizing Native Americans, he believed they were savages but not a lost cause. Pratt talked
in detail about the previous misguided attempts to change the Indians. He said that there is no
way for an Indian to understand civilized life if they are still living in a savage land (Pratt, 39)
and that Native Americans would accept the schooling and give up their savage lifestyle and
false gods. He talks about how to integrate the Native Americans, but not how to leave their land
alone. Chief Joseph did not seem to want to give up his way of life and only wanted his tribe s
small portion of land. For someone to make real change they must want to change themselves.
What Pratt is proposing to do instead is force the Native Americans to assimilate. Pratt points out
that you can t make a German American unless he is in America where he could learn and accept
the customs of America (Pratt, 38). This takes away the German s choice to come to America or
not, and the ones who did assimilate still tried to hold onto parts of their culture until WWI. In the
same way, what Pratt is proposing takes away the

Aspects of Postmodernism in Happy Endings and Videotape
Aspects of Postmodernism in Happy Endings and Videotape According to Neil Bessner
(Bessner), postmodernism is a slippery term to define (15). If we look at the literal meaning of
the word in a regular dictionary, we may encounter something like a style and movement in art
[В…] in the late 20th century that reacts against modern styles, for example by mixing features
form traditional and modern styles . In fact, it has extended many of the fundamental techniques
and assumptions of modern literature. A lot of aspects and characteristics of this relatively new
current are well exposed in short stories such as Happy Endings by Margaret Atwood (Atwood) and
Videotape by Don Delillo (Delillo). In this essay, we will first look at... Show more content on

On the other hand, postmodernism appears as well in Atwood s themes. In this particular story,
it is possible to observe her reject for western value. For instance, in the first ending, the one
which she says is the happy ending, includes a lot of the important capitalist western values such
as remunerative job, real estate values, challenging sex life, vacations, etc. They may appear in
the happy ending, but at the end she says they are all fake and she is being satirical. She
critiques those elements of contemporary society. According to Charlotte Sturgess, Atwood
often discusses about gender relations in her writings (95). In Happy Endings , she portrays a
few couples lives and it seems like she wants to show equality between sexes. Each ending has a
different type of woman. In ending F, a chronicle or our times as she suggests, Mary is a
counterespionage agent, we are far away from the canadian stay at home mother of the previous
century. The last theme is the meaninglessness of life encountered in each ending. Atwood
speaks of the death of her characters as if they were only sleeping, as if it was nothing really
important. Eventually they die. This is the end of the story (37) and She hope he ll discover her
[В…] but this fails and she dies (38). At the end of the story, Atwood says: The only authentic
ending is the one provided here: John and Mary die. John and Mary die. John and Mary die (40). It

Islamic Law and Human Trafficking in Saudi Arabia Essay
Over recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been confronted with a great challenge:
becoming a modernized country without rejecting its long held culture and heritage. In many
ways, the state has been a success story, having developed a profitable oil based economy and
considerable world influence. Less than one hundred years ago, Saudi Arabiahad not yet been
unified; today, it is a state with complex financial, legal, and political systems, with a culture
marked by deep history and faith. Since the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks, Saudi Arabia has
continued to work on a reform agenda to promote greater participation by Saudi citizens, a vibrant
economy, and a civil society. However, many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Qur an s commitment to fighting slavery, trafficking, and labor abuse, as well as Saudi Arabia
s hesitant creation of anti trafficking movements and legislation, indicate that such legislation is not
necessarily in contradiction with the principles of Islamic law. Despite the reluctance of Western
commentators and legal scholars to accept that Islamic law can reach outcomes largely similar to a
Western legal system, anti trafficking legislation and movements in Saudi Arabia have the potential
to succeed. As such, more effective ways to fight human trafficking in Saudi Arabia should stem
from cultural and political reforms and better enforcement of the limited anti trafficking legislation
it does have, rather than an unnecessary and politically dangerous upheaval of the legal system
from outside forces. Saudi Arabia s political culture is unfortunately not very conducive to gender
equality or anti trafficking measures. Women s rights in Saudi Arabia are defined by the Sunni
interpretation of Islam and various tribal customs under patriarchal culture of the country. Ali
Sallam, in an analysis of Saudi society, explains the often diminished societal role of women: under
tribal customs, all women are required to have a male guardian, who is either a father, brother, or
husband (Sallam, 2013). A guardian has both rights

The Nature Of Love By Harry Harlow
Harry Harlow was labeled as a man with a desire for learning about what he presumed love to be
and consequently, dedicated his later career to the subject. Life presented him with ups and downs
yet, he pursued his research with a vigor. He developed notions about the concepts of affection in
contrast to bodily needs and what could possibly derive from one not receiving love. This guided
him to establish observational research methods to study his ideas via the use of infant primates
which, yielded both positive and negative outcomes. Harlow s article titled, The Nature of Love,
relayed his explorations and discoveries, along with his future ideas. Harlow supposedly had a
quiet and uneventful childhood, and his exhibited traits of big ambitions eventually led him to
earn a Ph.D. from Stanford University. With respect to his personal life, Harlow s initial
marriage ended when his wife left him due to his extreme dedication towards work, and his
second wife passed away from cancer. Professionally, Harlow s career took place when
behaviorism ruled the psychological field, and it was his controversial work that made him well
known amongst his community. He was not intimidated by the status quo and thus, conducted
experiments with primates to study the unchartered territory of affection. However, after the death
of his second wife, Harlow had become distraught and depressed. His career started to falter, and he
eventually retired in 1973 (Harry Harlow, 2014). Harlow

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Film Blackfish
In the documentary film Blackfish, directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the director debates the
rights for sea animals. Cowperthwaite makes the claim that sea animals should be freed from their
enclosures in entertainment because they re harming themselves and the humans that are training
them. She uses all rhetorical analysis of pathos, ethos and logos, but pathos trumpets over all.
Pathos is such a strong appeal in this documentary because of the animals lives and the peoples
emotion towards the subject of the matter. Cowperthwaite is able to engage the audience with
pathos because of the appreciation of the arguments significance. The documentary film, Blackfish,

SeaWorld logically claims that about 25% of whales have the folded fin and a former trainer says
only about 1% have this problem and they believe that, that is why the whale in SeaWorld had a
folded fin (Blackfish). They also claim that when orcas are separated from their families and
taken away from their natural habitat; they become stressed and angry. They also say that s why
the whales are so violent towards themselves and the trainers. Orcas are like humans because
they have human like brain function and emotion (Blackfish). The film supports this because
they observed the orcas and notice how sad they get because they re not with anyone they know.
They can also develop relationships and bonds that humans can develop as well. Blackfish can
support these claims of this argument because they quote SeaWorld directly that says, orcas live
in cohesive long term social units called pods, and the strongest association bonds in a pod are the
mother/calf bonds (SeaWorld). That being said, this also relates back to pathos because of the
bonds. They re literally ripped from their parents to come perform for humans, when they can be in
their natural environment, exploring the seas. Its so emotional knowing what happens and how
they re being treated, but SeaWorld is still open

  • 2. What Does It Mean To Be A Girl It s a girl! Most parents fantasize about hearing those precious and promising words because soon a little girl will make its way into their life and she will be sweet, innocent, and pure. Nothing will hurt that child, but unfortunately those parents are blinded by the happiness of the moment and do not realize that the little girlwill grow up and be worth less than her husband and she will be worth less in society. In Merriam Webster s Unabridged Dictionary the word girl means a femalechild from birth to adulthood, but in addition to this simple word there holds an immense amount of meaning. Four letters and that s all it takes for someone to roll their eyes and laugh because that word is linked to weakness, negativity, and obnoxious... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a girl you are expected to break, but in reality girls have to pretend nothing will break them or they will again be judged by society. This tends to be the case because if a girl breaks it will just add fire to the sexist prejudices put upon them as a gender. In Serena Nanda s article Arranging a Marriage in India, she talks about her research in India, when a son s parents are looking for a wife for their son they have a very long list of expectations. She should be from the same caste system, pretty, not too intelligent, meshes with the family well, doesn t stray from home, nor does she gossip or call home a lot, and the most important thing is that she is pure before marriage. Though these expectations tend to look somewhat different in the U.S. they have the same ideas. A girl should be boxed in away from society and taking care of the children or perhaps being a good cook to put it into simpler terms because that is what society unfairly tells us a girl should be able to do. Serena also talks about how it is very important for a girl to protect the family name and in no way ever disgrace it. If that girl does disgrace the family (for example not staying pure) it is not uncommon for her brother or even cousin to murder her. Why is a family s expectations based on what a girl does? These unrealistic expectations push girls too far and cause us to think our worth is less because we cannot do it all, even though society thinks that s the least we could ... • 3. Characteristics Of The Knight In The Canterbury Tales Although some knights were depicted as being selfish and careless about others, there were some knights who were depicted as possessing heroic qualities such as strength, courage, selflessness, and many more. The Knight in The Canterbury Tales, by Geoffrey Chaucer, is one example of a knight who possesses heroic qualities. There was a Knight a most distinguished man, who from the day on which he first began to ride abroad had followed chivalry, truth, honour, and generousness and courtesy (Chaucer 4). The Knight is a generous and courteous man and fights with honor and fidelity, as a hero should. The narrator in The Canterbury Talesalso calls the Knight wise and a ... true, perfect gentle knight (Chaucer 5). Not only was he a gentle Knight, but a strong Knight as well because of the various battles he participated in. These traits that the Knight possessed that the narrator in The Canterbury Tales seems to fond over are reminiscent of a true hero. A hero is said to be strong, kind, brave, selfless, and loyal. The Knight fits this description almost perfectly. The Knight is not the only knight in the Middle Ages that was depicted as being a hero. Lancelot, although possessing some antiheroic traits, possessed qualities of a hero as well. In The Knight of the Cart, at the beginning of Lancelot s quest to save Guinevere, he runs into a dwarf who is riding the shaft of a cart. He asks the dwarf if he has seen Guinevere at all, but the dwarf does not give him any information and instead tells him to get in the cart and he will know by morning of what happened to Guinevere. Riding a cart during those times was not a good thing. The cart was for all criminals alike, for all traitors and murders... the guilty person was taken and made to mount in the cart... he had lost all his feudal rights and never heard at court (Troyes 211). At first, Lancelot hesitated for a couple of seconds, but then he decided to ride in the cart, knowing the repercussions of doing it. This shows Lancelot as a selfless individual because he was focused on rescuing Guinevere. Lancelot sacrificed his reputation for Guinevere. By stressing how shameful it is to ride in the cart, ChrГ©tien thereby stresses how noble it is of Lancelot to so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Does Ray Bradbury Use Descriptive Language In All... In all summer in a day by Ray Bradbury, He shows how he uses descriptive language and metaphors to tell the story more in depth and in more detail. The story is about how a girl (Margot) is on a new planet and the sun only comes every 7 years for just one hour. And her classmates are being mean because she remembers the sunand they don t believe her because last time the sun came they were only 2 or 3 years old. They only know the sun by blushing the Author says. This shows a way of metaphor, because this is the only way they see or feel the sun, when it is not there. The other day they red a book, about the sun. They said it was like a lemon it was big and yellow. Also one classmate says I think the sun is a flower, that blooms for ... The essay, We Are the 99 percent Joins the Cultural and Political Lexicon by Brian Stelter tells us the succession of the protestors for the wage gap implementing the phrase into the minds of millions of Americans. Stelter then goes on to talk about the we are the 99 percent phraseused at rally s or protests to show how much the rich are outnumbered. Stelter explains the catchphrase and the different ways it is used and how it is impacting society. He then shows the history of what can be if something is said, especially if what is said is true. By utilizing rhetorical devices such as ethos, logos, and bandwagon the author conveys the message that the phrase We Are The 99 Percent is burned into the minds of millions of Americans. Stelter uses ethos to help his argument that the people of the Occupy movement have implanted We are the 99 percent into the minds of the people in the country. Stelter uses quotes from platforms around the country to show that the activists have gotten the word out about the 99 percent . For example, Stelter goes to Congress to show the Democrats in Congress began to invoke the 99 percent (679) to help pass a bill established by president Obama for the Jobs Act. Congress knew that if they use this slogan they could get most of the appeal from the 99 percent knowing that they felt underappreciated from the one percent in the financial standpoint. • 10. Role Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451 Are world is becoming a place full of a bunch of mindless consumers that can t think for themselves. We are not capable of thinking deeply because we have all these things around us distracting us like advertisements and we always have things in ours ears like headphones just like the seashell earpieces in Fahrenheit 451. We are not capable of electing politicians based on real issues we just vote for the best looking politician and think he is automatically the best. We also can t communicate with each other there is too much technology and if we do interact with people it involves technology and no one really is interested in books they are immersed in their devices and tvs. Today s world is turning into Fahrenheit 451 s world we are not capable of thinking deeply we are not capable of electing politicians based on real issues and we are not capable of communicating with each other. Aristotle Greek Philosopher, 4th Century B.C. EXPLORING HOW CHILDREN DEVELOP Twentieth century philosopher George Santayana once reflected, Children are on a different plane. They belong to a generation and way of feeling properly their own. Let s explore what that plane is like. Why Studying Children s Development Is Important Why study children s development? As a teacher, you will be responsible for a new wave of children each year in your classroom. The more you learn about children s development, the more you can understand at what level it is appropriate to teach them. Childhood has become such a distinct phase of the human life span that it is hard to imagine that it was not always thought of in that way. However, in medieval times, laws generally did not distinguish between child and adult offences and children were often treated like miniature adults. Today we view children quite differently than was the case in medieval times. We conceive of childhood as a highly eventful and unique time of life that lays an important foundation for the adult years and is highly differentiated from them. We identify distinct periods within childhood in which children master special skills and confront new life tasks. We value childhood as a special time of growth and change, and we invest great resources in caring for and educating our children.

Each of these rights are firmly stated in the Constitution, along with many other rights that citizens of the Untied States have. The standing practice was that currency would remain in the hands of the military administration while valuables had to be transferred to the Reich Central Bank in Berlin. In return for these valuables, the central bank transferred cash to the local administration equivalent to the value of the items it had received (Arad 22). While the practices of this are inequitable, in the eyes of their Nazi dictatorship, it was considered fair. They would take the property of another human being and sell it so they could help their war effort to kill more people that were against the Nazi government. In no way is taking the valuables of these innocent victims just, and it is salt in the wound to sell their valuables to aid in their death. With an increasing demand for miniature audio, video and other communication devices, the design of effective mixed signal devices is becoming extremely critical. The design of a mixed signal system is extremely complicated due to intricacies of analog design and the problems encountered in the integration of analog and digital sub systems. It is not a secret that not all homes are perfect, but a structured environment can lead to healthy study habits. Now the same can happen in a school environment for some children. So, in turn, those children can start to act out for the stress that comes with a school environment. When there is a healthy home environment, these children would be comfortable and be able to focus on the task at hand. Another reason a child might not misbehave is because they know the consequences for their actions at home. When a child is in a public school, there might not be much that can be done when a child misbehaves and does something that is wrong. One of the biggest influences for children in public schools is other children. Almost everything children do is to look cool in front of their friend or to be popular. Children will tend to misbehave when their friends are pressuring them to do so. Peer pressure is a hard thing to deal with for a child. When children are home schooled, there is much less pressure to be cool and there is more time to focuses on classwork. Now one of the last things that parents worry about for their children is how their social skills will develop if they are home schooling their children. Most people would argue that the children are not developing the social skills needed, because they do not interact with other children their own age. The University of Florida s Larry Shyers, ... In the quotation above she is expressing the idea that when winter comes the flowers will no longer be in their full bloom. Sir Walter Ralegh uses the nymph to make the point that spring changes to autumn as youth changes to old age and because of this she will not live with the shepherd. • 35. Summary Of Let s Really Reform Our Schools By Anita Garland Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Nelson Mandela). In Let s Really Reform Our Schools by Anita Garland she discusses how schools need to change to help students succeed. Garland states, We need to completely restructure our thinking about what schools are and what we expect of the students who attend them (620). Garland wants to better schools, so students can be successful. Garland makes a strong argument when she states schools need uniforms, better food and to remove disruptive students. If schools do so there will w a better learning environment. If schools require uniforms students will not spend as much time laying out their outfits each night. Students would not struggle with self image as much, since everyone would be wearing the same outfit. Garland states, Kids from modest backgrounds could stand out because of their personalities and intelligence, rather then being tagged as losers because they can t wear the season s hottest sneakers or jeans (621). What I mean by this is the sense of greater and lesser races such as the dwarves and goblins in J.R.R. Tolkien s The Hobbit or the people of the Seven Kingdoms and the wildlings. It seems as though certain groups within High Fantasy often think of themselves as more virtuous and justified than others, however, I would argue that some of their actions would not be considered righteous. This mindset is very similar to that of Europeans throughout history as they often ridicule those of Muslim faith or the religious practices of the savages in Africa and the Americas. • 37. What Is The Theme Of The Starry Night By Vincent Van Gogh In 1889 Vincent van Gogh painted The Starry Night from his room in an asylum. Most artists paintings have something to do with their lives. This painting has a lot of different brush textures with a lot of little details. It looks like a calm quiet night by the tone of the colors, but somewhere there is something going on, hence the flames. By just glancing at this it may seem like there is not much going on but by looking at some parts closely, it is noticeable. In the painting The Starry Night by Vincent van Goghthere is a bunch of different textures added to the painting with details of a small town during the night time. Everyone can agree that the painting appears to be at night due to the color schemes. Choosing cool tones instead of using vivid colors gives the interpretation on what time of day it is. The color that is spread all throughout the painting is dark blue with a variety of types of blue fading off. Someone that just takes a glimpse may think there are just blobs of yellow in the sky, however if you concentrate you will realize they represent stars. The stars have a center dot in the middle with yellow and white shades fading off into the sky making them extremely bright. Back in the day any light that came from the sky was the source of light once the sun went down. In the top left corner, you can notice the crest of the moon, that is vividly shaded in with a dark yellow. The painter continues his technique of showing the amount of light both the stars ... During this time, there were advancements in technology, an abundance of natural resources, cheap labor and investment capital. From January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945; Adolf Hitler, German politician and leader of the Nazi party, ran the Holocaust all over Germany and Eastern Europe. Prisoners and victims of the Holocaust include: the majority of the Jewish population, German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Roma (Gypsies), Jehovah s Witnesses, homosexuals, and people accused of socially deviant or socially unacceptable behavior.
