advertising can reflect on the self esteem of women and young girls. The way
women are portrayed in advertisements can lead to low self esteem and body

Many things can contribute to the occurrence of an eating disorder. Young girls
who are bullied because of their weight or women who are consistently suffering
with body dissatisfaction are two ongoing examples. Lots of girls are bullied
throughout school because of their weight, whether it s that they are overweight
or super thin. Where some don t let it bother them others can t help but dwell on it,
sometimes to the point of cutting themselves, exercising dangerous dieting
practices, or even suicide. Grown women and men make comments to one another
concerning beauty and weight as well. They go on social media and tag their
