2. MOTIVATION
• A big motivator in my opinion is simply having a say so in
what goes on in our system. We live in a world that love to
complain and gripe about things and then come to find out
they do not even take part in voting. I like to be in control so
voting makes me feel like I am coming forward and helping
my community and state. I wish I could change the reason
why people don’t vote. ”My vote will not make a difference”
drives me crazy because it does!!
3. SURPRISE!!
• I did not know that Texas had such bad view on the government, I found
out that Texas likes things the way they are and they don’t want it to
change.
• I also learned a lot about the death penalty that I was unaware of. Like
they are pretty much doing away with the entire thing and are just
going to start giving life sentences. Also that Texas leads the numbers
with the number of executions they have had.
• I found it interesting on getting to learn about my own government
because before this class I knew nothing. I didn’t know how much work
went into the government even in my own town.
4. FOR THE FUTURE
•For our future generations I think just simply
teaching and educating the younger
generations. They do not teach this subject as
they should in school. It needs to be a drawn
out course that explains how everything works
and the reason on why everyone needs to vote!!
5. TEXAS
• Texas is very independent in everything we do. The people of
Texas do not like change and they will fight until they get it
back to the way that it was before. Texans always fight back if
they think something is not right. Texas is both traditionist
and individualist and that itself carry them through the hard
times. Texas needs no help and will always stick to what they
believe in. The entire state comes together to help one in
need and that’s why I love my state.
6. LESSONS LEARNED
• You always have to vote if you want any sort of say so in the election or
what is going on in the states.
• I learned so much about the death penalty and capital punishment. I
thought it was so simple and it has so much that goes with the process.
• I now have a better understanding of the government and how
everything works. People would always try to talk to me about it and I
honestly was so lost so I just shook my head. But now I will have an
argument on the situation.
