Everyday, my fourth grade students create, revise, and edit assignments and independent projects with Google Drive. They can access all of their work anywhere and share it with anyone at any stage in the process. They write stories and paragraphs with their classmates, and they correspond with parent volunteers through letters and homework comments. I also use Google Drive to create resources for students, teachers, and parents that I share on my digital portfolio.

Google Drive is an online storage and
synchronization service that enables sharing
and collaborative editing of files created on
the Google Docs office suite, which includes
documents, spreadsheets, presentations,
forms, and more.
In other words, Google Drive allows individuals
with permission to view, comment, and edit a
file simultaneously from multiple locations.

10. Sharing
When I was a student in public school I turned in final draft
work every hour, every day. Work was generally done in
one draft, and we kept cranking it out and passing it in. One
of the first things a school or classroom can do to improve
the quality of student work is to get off this treadmill. This
doesn’t mean an end to deadlines but rather a clear
distinction between rough research, rough drafts, and
finished, polished final draft work. It means final drafts may
take days or weeks to complete. It means a different type of
pressure: not just pressure to turn in enough work but
pressure to produce something of real value.
