About Myer Holdings Limited
Myer Holdings Limited Introduction As stated by Weller (2007) Australia s textile industry has seen a
steady growth from 1970s to date, which makes it one of the major contributors to the economic
development of the nation and a greater source of employment opportunity. The industry is unique
from other markets around the world specifically from European and U.S. markets. This unique
arrangement of the Australian space economy frequently contributes to several barriers for many
clothing firms which has intention to establish in Australia. However, Australia s population within
most urban centers is very less density which creates a lot of obstacles for any firm investing in
Australia to make a nationwide market. Additionally, most of the clothing industries operating in
Australia, one or two companies are specialized in the production of a lot of products which are
normally sold at the national level, again a good number of smaller clothing companies work in local,
in cities or within the state territories. The diversity of the market looks more fruitful for companies to
serve in a specialized niche market and to build a number of semi monopolistic market spaces.
Clothing market and some of the similar industries in Australia are always determined by the climatic
condition and people s lifestyle. This decides how the people spend on clothing and the kind of clothes
which normally being bought, for example clothes such as sports wear and casual wear. It s however,

A Tragedy Unfolded
On a dark, but star struck, frigid April night in 1912, the North Atlantic became a part in history like
no other. Today, she sits 2.4 miles under the ocean, once adored and applauded for her prestigious
amenities and sophisticated elegance, The RMS Titanic lays shattered and scattered on the ocean floor.

The Witcher 3
Literature is a mutable thing. Many have sought, often in vain and to great dissatisfaction, to contain it
and define its true nature. What s more, it seems that with each generation this task becomes
increasing difficult as words find new mediums across which to be expressed and heard. Conventional
definitions of literature, in turn, seem to be of increasingly less use as the words multiply around us.
The most successful definitions, under these circumstances, are those which seek not to assess the
nature of literature, which is ever changing, but its function in human society, which has remained
relatively unchanged over the annals of time. I would assert that the function of literature, beyond the
pleasure its aesthetic beauty can inspire, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world of The Witcher 3 is not wholly unlike our own. Women, particularly in marginalized
segments of society, struggle to assert their own worth and determine their own destinies in a world in
which men hold virtually all major positions of power. In The Witcher 3, this manifests itself in many
ways. One way is in the ubiquitous prostitutes of Novigrad, through whom the writers challenge
players to assess their own beliefs about sex work. Opportunities arise throughout the game to either
help affirm their humanity and defend them against male abuse and violence, or partake in their
services and leave them to their fates as objects of male desire. Given the ineptitude of many of their
world s male leaders, there are also many women from the upper segments of society who seek to
define not only their own fates, but those of their entire nation. Upon traveling to the Skellige Isles, an
archipelago off the western coast of the Northern Kingdoms, players find themselves interrupting a
funeral service for the recently deceased king, Bran. His widow, Birna, has plans for the island nation
even in her mourning. Traditionally, the next ruler would be chosen by the people based off of their
deeds and popularity. Regarding this tradition with disdain, Birna seeks instead to form Skellige into a
dynastic monarchy after that of the rival Nilfgaardian Empire with her son upon the throne. She is not
alone, however, in seeking to radically change her nation for the better. Cerys an Craite, the daughter
of a Skellige jarl, seeks to inherit the current political system and use it to reform and improve the
policies of her native land. Instead of continuing to raid the coastal lands at great loss of life, as ruler
she would seek to turn the island nation s attention inward to invest in its people and infrastructure. By
presenting women as the

Rise Of Soccer Research Paper
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, but soccer is not just a game. It s more than a game.
Soccer will help others in ways that other sports can t necessarily do. Soccer is not only an engaging
sport, but it also gives you physical and mental benefits. Much associate soccer with English history,
but actually it all started in the Han Dynasty. The Han Dynasty started the roots of the game by filling
leather balls with feathers and hair, and in which they had to kick the ball through a small opening. It
isn t as easy as many would think because you aren t allowed to use your hands, so in other words,
you can use everything else. This new game eventually caught on big in England, and even though the
game is massively popular, the game was frowned upon at the same time. The players would get so

Richard Mulcaster believed, He pointed out that the game, if requiring a little refinement, had a
positive educational value as it promoted health and strength (History of Football). What he first did
was that he wanted a limited number of players per team, so they aren t as crowded as before. This
new and important change would help let all players feel like they are part of the team. Most notably,
he wanted a referee that would be much stricter, so the king wouldn t ban the game for being too
violent again. Richard Mulcaster changed the basics of the game, so it would be more beneficial for
people to play. The major changes of the game though came around the beginning of the 19th century.
Soccer being admitted into schools was the turning point because the game was spread throughout to
other places for people to have ideas on how the game should function as a sport. From there, It soon
gathered momentum and rapidly reached all parts of the world (History of

Ebola Emergency Response Strategy Analysis
Ebola Emergency Response Strategy
Introduction
Community is an interconnected group of persons living in a given locality. Communities have
identical social pattern. Public health awareness is an aggregate obligation of the entire society. Ebola
can be managed by the assertion that the community holds that they are together and have been hit by
a common catastrophe (Winkworth 5). Community can be organised into well defined groups in order
as to achieve the health objective. The use of Laveracks approach therefore is a reliable strategic
approach, which can be used to implement community health programs in the fight of Ebola.
Laverack s strategic approach
Laverack developed a five continuum of community empowerment. These continuums have, however,
been widely used in Australia during emergency times, where they proved effective. They include:
personal action, small groups, community organization, partnership and social and political action
(Laverack 63). The continuums are built on the basis of community empowerment. The continuums
can be used effectively in the management of Ebola by ensuring participation of every element in the
community in ascending order. Ebola is a lethal pandemic, it requires an efficient strategy built from
the basic foundation of the community and therefore the bottom up built on Laveracks approach is
more effective as discussed below.
Personal action
Laverack described the approach of personal action as the building of greater sense of

The Impact of Lowering the Drinking Age on State...
The legal drinking age in the United States will always be a point of contention. No one can settle
upon a drinking age that everyone is in agreement with; should it be 18 or 21? Ages 18 and 21 are the
most popular options, yet neither one has 100% of the vote. With the current legal drinking age in
America standing at 21, meaning that people under the age of 21 cannot purchase or consume
alcoholic food or beverages, there is the question of whether or not to lower it to 18 or 19 years old.
This paper will argue that the drinking age should be lowered, and examine its impact on State
University. Almost everyone has an opinion on what the drinking age should be. Some people believe
that it should stay at 21. However, others argue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer to these questions would greatly impact the future of campuses nationwide. The State
University campus is dry, meaning there is neither alcohol nor paraphernalia allowed on the campus at
any time regardless of age. In the same city, however, Christian Brothers University is a wet campus
that allows all students 21 and older to have alcohol in their dorms and around campus. A major
question that should be considered is how schools such as these two would be affected in their policies
if the drinking age were lowered. One side to this debate is that the legal drinking age should be
lowered from 21 to around 18 or 19 years old, and that young adults should be allowed to drink in
controlled environments. This idea is presented by Ruth Engs, a professor of Applied Sciences at
Indiana University. She states that environments such as taverns, pubs, restaurants and official
university functions can be considered to be controlled environments. In these situations responsible
drinking could be taught through role modeling and educational programs. Mature and sensible
drinking behavior would be expected (Engs). In her article, Engs uses phrases such as forbidden fruit,
and a badge of rebellion against authority to describe how teens view drinking. In her opinion, if the
drinking age were to be lowered, young adults would no longer feel the pressure to drink in order to
be cool.

Political Structure Of Persepolis
The old Persian city of Persepolis is located in the Fars province of modern day Iran. Persian had a
very diverse number of land formations, ranging from plateaus, rainforests, plains, deserts, and
mountain ranges which each hold a unique balance of flora and fauna, and a climate that measures
from hot and dry to moist and tropical. In a way, Persepolis depended on its surrounding ecosystems
to help support its growth and prosperity. It was located near a dry land called the Marvdasht Plain and
also close to the moist peaks of the Zagros Mountains, and it s a piece of the Kur River Basin. Even
the climate of the areas near Persepolis affected its business. For example, during the Iranian winter,
the landscape would become murky and would be unable to navigate through. However, during the
spring and summer seasons, the areas surrounding Persepolis would be clear and crossable, allowing
the city to proceed in its everyday activity. Through vigorous research by archaeologists, it has been
revealed that Darius I was responsible for a great amount of structures and periods of construction of
Persepolis. In the time period that Darius I was working on Persepolis was in the years 518 490 B.C.
(First period of construction) During the first phase of the construction of Persepolis, the monumental
terrace was built, with the Apadana audience hall, and finally including the Treasury building
complete with stairs on the eastern side that are used as an access point. Kings followed

Similarities Between Castor And Pollux
Castor and Pollux were twins born from a single egg, Castor was mortal while Pollux was immortal.
The twins were always seen together, even at war. My sister and I are similar to Castor and Pollux
because we spend any time that we get with each other. From anywhere in school to at home, we sit
next to each other and we stay in our room together. I considered her to be both my best friend and
sister. In one variation of the myth, the twin s herd of cattle was taken by their cousins. Upon stealing
their cattle from their cousin, Castor was badly wounded and succumbed to death. Pollux asked his
father Zeus to give half his immortality to his brother. Zeus agreed under the terms that both twins
would spend half eternity in the Underworld and half in Olympus ( Dioscuri ). I made a similar
decision as Pollux when he sacrificed his immortality to bring his brother, Castor back to life. I
relinquished going to UCR to attend the same University with my sister. Throughout the years, Kelly
and I faced our hardship together, and I couldn t stand being away from my sister. In Pollux and
Castor tale it shows them taking the same path similar to my story when Pollux sacrificed his
immortality, he now must suffer in the Underworld with Castor. Nowadays, I spent my time assisting
my sister and in return. she helps me too. Not all individuals in my life that help shaped me had close
connections to me, some of the individuals were my peers and relatives.

Private Military Contractors In The Middle East
Throughout the Middle East, the use of private military contractors has significantly heightened, due
to the call of attacks in these countries. PMC s take up much cost for a country to fund, and the
increasing rates are bringing drawbacks onto working citizens. However, there PMC s are also vital in
order for a country to maintain its armed security forces. On the other hand, mercenaries are people
who take part in armed conflicts. The PMC s hire these mercenaries to work under them in helping
take part in hostilities, but receive benefits for their own gains. Recently, the United Nations
Mercenary Convention (UNMC) has placed restrictions upon PMC s in the use of mercenaries, in
order to create specifications between commercial and government uses of these protection services.
Sweden has very little support and funds for the use of these PMC s, due to the lack of high military
activity.
Current Issues: In the Middle East, and other countries active in their military uses, are raising high
questions of controversy against whether or not PMC s should be implemented at an international
scale. After these countries in the middle east have been hit with attacks, there has been thought on
how to promote entrusted security for the countries. However, the use of these PMC s can lead to
security faults in diplomatic officials, and can cause unstable regions throughout a country as we have
seen happen in Libya in 2012. On the contrary, PMC s can be ideal in post war

Sports Medicine
Female Athletes
In this report I will be exploring two conditions and their implications on female athletes. The
conditions I will be investigating in relation to female athletes are pregnancy and iron deficiency.
Pregnancy
Overview
Pregnancy, also known as gestation, is the term used to describe the period in which a fetus develops
inside a woman s womb or uterus (Definition from
https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/pregnancy/conditioninfo/Pages/default.aspx). Pregnancy is
typically divided into three trimesters, the first is twelve (12) weeks, the second is fifteen(15) weeks,
the third is eleven (11) weeks. Totalling nine (9) months, this is commonly expressed as the term of
pregnancy.
Female athletes who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pregnant athletes should avoid exercise in hot conditions and for long durations. To avoid this the
athlete should drink water throughout the day in order to stay hydrated.
Sports Injuries can occur if the mother participates in a contact sport such as boxing, wrestling,
football and soccer, gymnastics, skiing, or any sport where contact levels are higher than that of
everyday life. At any stage during the pregnancy, any extreme pressure or force (or fall onto) to the
abdomen can damage the placenta. Later in the pregnancy, the fetus is no longer protected by the
pelvis, creating greater risk of damage by direct impact during sport.
Oxygen Deficiency can vary throughout pregnancy, it will be involved with the duration, type and
intensity that the athlete performs. This will increase the fetus heart rate, however if training occurs
regularly the fetus will become better conditioned and have the ability to adapt to the strain of
exercise. Irregular extreme exercise can be detrimental to the fetus.

##heotypes And Imagery In Louise Erdrich s Dear John Wayne
From the first landing of Columbus s ships in 1492, the Native Americans have been grossly
misunderstood by the Europeans and subsequently, the Americans. Even the name coined for them,
Indians, was only conceived due to the fact that the Spanish thought they had landed in India. Just
from sheer ignorance of the culture alone, Americans have indirectly and directly persecuted
thousands upon thousands of Native Americans young and old. Author Louise Erdrich, a Native
American herself, explores the themes of stereotypes and disregard for a culture in her poem Dear
John Wayne . Through her use of irony and juxtaposition, in combination with imagery, Erdrich paints
a picture for the audience detailing the struggle of being a Native American teen in a largely white
America. Firstly, the initial usage of irony within the poem is woven perfectly in the poem to enhance
to feeling the speaker of the poem is trying to convey; that feeling being the cruel, harsh reality of the
Native American s existence. The American s paint them as violent, ruthless savages, uncultured and
only looking for a fight. The irony is that this slowly starts to show to be true and become a self
fulfilling prophecy when some of the speaker s Native American friends fall over the hood slipping in
the hot spilled butter (1), laughing. This only shows the white people that the stereotypes portrayed in
the movies is true and that the Indians are just a bunch of rowdy, untamed people. However, the

Non State Actors ( Nsa ) Essay
Non state Actors
The term non State actors are a superordinate concept that encompasses all those actors in
international relations that are not states. It comprises individuals as well as entities, the latter
spanning a large range of organizations and institutions on the global, regional, sub regional as well as
the local levels.
Non state actors (NSA) are entities that participate in international relations, these entities cannot be
identified by common sociological features as they include international organizations, corporations,
non governmental organizations ( NGOs ), trade associations, and transnational corporations, terrorist
groups and transnational criminal organizations. They are organizations with sufficient power to
influence and cause a change even though they do not belong to any established institution of a state.
Non state actors such as national or international non governmental organisations (NGOs) are adding
their voices to international development policy debates by organising, campaigning and lobbying
across national boundaries in order to have a greater influence on international development policy
making and faced with growing economic and political interdependencies of markets and states,
governments have to cope with the increasingly complex postmodern environment, including the
activities of NGOs. An example of the influence of non State actors on diplomacy is the Westphalian

The Curiosity About Soul
The Curiosity about Soul
Do you believe in soul? Do you believe that we can still live even though we die? Does a human can
live without a body? The soul is our inner definition of existence in the world. According to the Bible,
soul exists within us. In the new and old testament, it says that the soul is translated as life. It became
our inner definition, because as stated in the Bible its idea refer as our emotion or inner thought as a
human. Each human has a purpose in their own life of existence. The soul is the eternal part of us, it
never dies, only our bodies. Every human is destined to die, but our soul are not going to die, it is still
functioning with the existence in the spirit world. They say that while the body is dead, our soul is still
alive as an immortal being. God created us as the way he molded the first human Adam that became as

Texas Rangers Research Papers
Most recent high profile case that I remember in 1999 involving the Texas Rangers at their best was
the case of the Railroad Killer who was responsible for a multi state killing spree. Gradually through
assistance of local, state, and federal agencies, Angel Resendez Ramirez, an illegal Mexican
immigrant would be wanted for the brutal killings. He evaded several FBI arrest traps and it would
finally take the indestructible determination of Texas Ranger Drew Carter to end the Railroad Killer
reign. Carter s trust relationship with the killer s sister was the break that led to the fugitive s capture.
The plan was that Ramirez would surrender to only Ranger Carter in the middle of the bridge

Room Of Error In Kevin Hart s Life
Kevin Hart grew up in a Philadelphia Pennsylvania neighborhood that wasn t at all that good.
He lived in a house with his mother Nancy Hart, and older brother Robert Hart. His father is Henry

stealing peoples things, even his!!! While growing up Kevin didn t have much, and when he did it was
usually stolen goods that his brother had given him. Kevin s mother was a devoted Christian woman,
while his brother was basically just another hoodlum in the streets, as he says. On the bright side, after
seeing all of the wrong paths that his brother had taken, his mother Nancy did not allow much room
for error in Kevin s life. In this book, Kevin describes his mother as a very harsh but supportive

Economic Crisis
Stabilization in the Wake of Economic Crisis Perhaps the most significant reason Pittsburgh was able
to recover from the collapse of steel was the decision, made early on by city officials and local
developers, to seek out new industries rather than cling to the vestiges of the old. Beginning in 1981,
the Allegheny Conference (ACC), a non profit coalition of local business and political leaders, made
economic diversification their primary goal. The conference established a committee whose sole task
was to promote new industries. The committee s chairman said, at the outset, we must diversify...this
time we must build new industries, new jobs. Over the next decade, the ACC helped secure financing

Symbolic of the success of that initiative, in 1990, Pittsburgh succeeded in capturing a $370 M
investment in from the Sony Corporation to build their two newest television manufacturing plants.
Overall, these measures to stabilize Pittsburgh s economy were remarkably successful. Between 1982
and 1990, Pittsburgh s employment rate dropped 12.6% (from 17% to 4.6%). For the remainder of the
decade, the unemployment rate hovered ±0.5% compared to the national average. Thus, the successes
of the late 1980s gave Pittsburgh had the breathing room to pursue longer lasting, economically
sustainable reform. New Pittsburgh (1986 Present) Much of the success of the mid/late 1980s were the
result of massive economic stimulation measures rather than organic growth. Therefore, after the city
recovered from the collapse of the early 1980s, city officials and local developers continued their
plans for further economic development. City officials used the successes of the late 1980s as a
springboard to create the highly diversified economy necessary for sustained economic growth. Since
1990, the focus of economic growth in Pittsburgh has been in three largely codependent sectors:
education, healthcare, and high technology. Higher Education Since 1990, Pittsburgh s institutions of

Essay about The Results of Children in Fatherless Homes
Divorce and out of wedlock childbearing are now epidemic in American society. Both forms of
disrupted families are harmful to children and to society. The children of single parents are more likely
to do poorly in school, commit crimes, and become single parents themselves. In addition, the increase
in single parent families contributes to such social problems as poverty, crime, and a decline in the
quality of public education.
Divorce and out of wedlock childbirth are transforming the lives of American children. In the postwar
generation more than 80 percent of children grew up in a family with two biological parents who were
married to each other. By 1980 only 50 percent could expect to spend their entire childhood in an

Indeed, they help to explain why family structure is such an explosive issue for Americans. The debate
about it is not simply about the social scientific evidence, although that is surely an important part of
the discussion. It is also a debate over deeply held and often conflicting values. How do we begin to
reconcile our long standing belief in equality and diversity with an impressive body of evidence that
suggests that not all family structures produce equal outcomes for children? How can we square
traditional notions of public support for dependent women and children with a belief in women s right
to pursue autonomy and independence in childbearing and child rearing? How do we uphold the
freedom of adults to pursue individual happiness in their private relationships and at the same time
respond to the needs of children for stability, security, and permanence in their family lives? What do
we do when the interests of adults and children conflict? These are the difficult issues at stake in the
debate over family structure.
Past discussions on families
In the past these issues have turned out to be too difficult and too politically risky for debate. In the

Who Are The Most Powerful Characters In Macbeth
What does it mean to be powerful? In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, Macbeth is initially loyal to
the throne because he helps fight for Scotland and executes the rebel Thane of Cawdor. Later he
becomes a traitor by turning on King Duncan. After Macbeth s actions he falls to his terrible tragedy.
Although Macbeth s physical traits can be associated with being powerful, the weird sisters are the
most powerful characters because they can control the weather, alter sleep patterns, and predict the
future.
To begin, the witches reveal they can change the direction and force of the winds. After the first witch
tells her story about the sailor s wife, the second witch says what she will do about the sailor and his
wife. She says I ll give thee a wind (i.iii.12). The witch says that she is going to make the weather
outside windy to push his ship further out to sea. Knowing that the witches can make changes to the
weather shows they are powerful because they can create a storm at any given time, causing accidents
to occur. LIke in the real world, weather that is rainy/ windy ect is associated with unpleasant things
happening. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contribute to what makes this life so interesting. If all wildlife were to go extinct, then we would not
have a way to replenish the oxygen to survive off of. All animals and plants are a part of our lifecycle

The Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966 authorized the Secretary of Interior to spend $15
million per year to purchase habitats for the species on the endangered list. This act also required
protection of these species on federal land. All land belonging to the public that was not government
was not required but were encouraged to. Many benefits have come from these law acts that have been
set in place. Recovery plans have been put into place to help our animals and plants replenish. While
doing this, exemptions can and do occur. If there is a project to be done within a habitat of a listed
species, then the ESA must notify the FWS and National Marine Fisheries Service. Once listed species
reached a level of stable existence again, they were delisted. As of 2011, fifty one species had been
delisted. Any kind of harming, wounding, or killing is considered to be a violation. Violations of these
laws have a variety of penalties. The maximum fine is up to $50,000 or a year of imprisonment,
possibly both. I do absolutely believe this law has improved our societies and environments due to
helping original life to be sustained. These animals and plants were created to be on this earth. They
did not choose to be here and did not choose to be killed for human pleasure. This law has given these

Moreover, learning a foreign language has many advantages such as boosting skills in a native

The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari Essay

Hitler soon embarked on a journey of becoming a member of the German Workers Party where he
worked his way up to becoming not only the primary speaker but sole power holder as well. Hitler
quickly began his focus on propaganda blaming government officials, Germany s then poor military

is widely known as the book Mein Kampf (My Struggle). The book was a collection of Hitler s life,

becoming feared by most. Hitler was slowly but surely working his way up the political ladder and

Cellulite
Cellulite is a condition of adipose origin in which adipose tissue protrudes through the dermis causing
an orange peel or cottage cheese type dimpling of skin seen most commonly on the thighs and
buttocks of many post pubertal women. The initial changes leading to cellulite formation appear to be
deterioration of the capillary network, vascular changes and abnormal deposits of
glycosaminoglycans, leading to excess fluid retention within subcutaneous tissues. A variety of
treatments ranging from topical creams to laser therapies are currently available, claiming to reduce
the dimpled skin appearance however successful results are often anecdotal, subjective or not present

The inability to repair tissue damage due to continued oedema and vascular congestion can lead to
thickening and sclerosis of the fibrous septae in the superficial adipose tissue and deep dermis,
creating the clinical appearance of cellulite.
Cellulite is an unwanted condition and a rising demand for cellulite reduction has new non invasive
treatment modalities becoming popular. Currently there are numerous medications, devices and
diverse therapies that allegedly treat cellulite however there is little evidence to support long term
effectiveness. Due to the nature of cellulite, effective treatment would need to repair and strengthen
the dermis as well as expel the fat protrusion back underneath the dermis. Retinoids are thought to
increase dermal collagen fibres, allowing the dermis to prevent further herniation of fat as the collagen
deposition makes the dermis much stronger, therefore reducing the appearance of cellulite.
Endermologie is a hand held mechanical system used to simulate manual massages of the skin. It is
hypothesized that it is able to reduce the appearance of cellulite by causing damages to the
subcutaneous fat cells by positive (rolling) and negative (suction) pressures, disrupting fat cells and
allowing for better distribution of subcutaneous fat.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Epilepsy
Business Understanding
According to World Health Organisation (2017), around 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy.
Unfortunately, epilepsy cannot be cured, but could be controlled by pharmacological or electrical
treatment based on seizure prediction (Moghim Corne, 2014). Since EEG has advantages such as
speed, high time resolution and non invasive natures, it maintains one of the most frequently used
tools in predicting epilepsy (Hasan et al. 2017).
Electroencephalography (EEG) has a broad use in both medical practices and medical research for
diagnosing and identifying epileptic seizures, syncope (fainting), cognitive psychologies, and
psychophysiological research (Niedermever, 2004). Commonly used in identifying epilepsy, the EEG
helps the doctors to distinguish types of seizures, the reasons to trigger the seizures and also the
treatment needed. Types of EEG are different according to test aims, facilities, medical and patients
situations, and are generally separated into 4 types: Routine EEG, Sleep EEG, Ambulatory EEG and
Video EEG. All of the types would record electrical activities of the brain, investigate their potential
fluctuations and brain waves, and perform analysis to convert the data into useful information in
identifying the seizures. Usually, the EEG test will last for 20 to 40 minutes, and will be conducted by
attaching scalp with the electrodes which are connected to an EEG recording machine (NHS, 2017).
There are three main cases to be solved in this project. First is to identify whether an EEG showing
seizure or not. Second is to identify the 5 categories of EEG. Third is to identify the classification of
EEG, whether it is indicating healthy brain activity, potential epileptic seizure or actual epileptic
seizure.

Racism between blacks and whites became more pronounced in the southern colonies. The colonists

William Berkeley even went on to require colonists with different religious beliefs to leave the colony.
To add, crops played a major role in the colonies. The southern colonies had the advantage of climate.
This climate allowed the southern colonists to grow different things. Some of crops this climate

The Characteristics Of Kona Coffee
Kona coffee As unique as it gets
What is Kona and what makes it so unique?
It s a coffee that s grown in the North and South Kona districts of Hawaii. The Kona districts in
Hawaii is a two mile long stretch of land which contains over 600 coffee farms; and this district is
often referred to as the Kona coffee belt
Here are the reasons that make Kona coffee the most unique coffee region on the planet.
The number one reason is the low altitude. Usually coffee is grown at 5000+ feet and the Kona coffee
grows in places that range from 800 ft. to 2300 ft.
One of the reasons that this happens is because clouds settle over the crops in the afternoon and thus
provide a natural shade for the coffee protecting it from the hot sun in Hawaii.
Reason number two is the steep volcanic slopes which create ideal drainage system for the rain and all
of this delivers conditions that resemble much higher elevations in other parts of the world. ... Show

Asymmetry In Crabs

Policing Styles, Watchman, And Service Style
In today s society there are three types of policing styles and it tends to vary based on the community.
According to Kuykendall (1974), states that the style used in a community by law enforcement is
based on different expectations regarding role performance (Kuykendall, 1974). Each style is used to
maintain and enforce law and order in the community. The three policing styles that are used in the
community are legalistic, watchman, and service style. The legalistic style of policing is focused on
enforcing the law and resolving disputes by the book. It is also considered a reactive form of policing.
The watchman style policing focuses on maintaining order and preventing crime (Kuykendall, 1974).
The service style policing is focused on helping those in the community, instead of enforcing the laws.
The policing style that I believe is used in my community is the watchman and legalistic style. Both

The Challenges And Issues Facing Schools
Introduction
The challenges and issues facing schools are becoming more complex subtle to address. There is a
tendency towards school board members seeking to advance personal interests and agendas on the
board s decisions which has enhanced the instances of conflicts of interest and controversial issues in
many schools. The distinction between the roles and responsibilities of the board members from those
of the superintendent has become blurred, making it essential that superintendents make decisions that
enable them survive in their roles. According to the California School Boards Association, CSBA,
(2013), the school board has the responsibility of establishing and adopting various policies that set
the overall direction and vision for district schools. School boards are involved in strategic planning
for the schools, through identification of strategic goals and priorities for the district, Alberta School
Boards Association, ASBA, (n. d). Through various policy formulations, school boards assert their
philosophy by developing various frameworks and guidelines that steer the school system and actions

Walker was born in November 26, 1969 in Stockton, California, US. Currently, she lives in New York,
NY. Walker s dad Larry Walker is an art professor and her mother Gwen Walker is a clothing designer.
In 1996, Walker married Klaus Burgel, who is a jewelry designer and they both gave a birth to a
daughter name Octavia. Walker has been educated at Atlanta College of Art, BA, 1991 and Rhode
Island school of design, 1994. Just right after she graduated in 1994, she started a career as a
professor. However, the time when she traveled to New York City to join a meeting, her friend
persuaded her to hand in her work in the Drawing Center. That was the turning point of a professor to
an artist ( Kara Walker Contemporary). Walker worked in a several of medium such as: Paper cutouts,
gouache mixed with coffee, brass rubbing and overhead projectors (Harvey). Through the article
Black and White, but Never Simple in The New York Times, 2007, Walker inspired by many artists.
Those people include Andy Warhol, Robert Colescott and Adrian Piper. Walker was in to Andy Warhol
because of his voracious look and ethical (Cotter). Next is Robert Colescott, who inserted cartoon
blacks, grinning Dixie sharecroppers into van Gogh s Dutch peasant cottages (Cotter). The last one
was Adrian Piper, who is a conceptualist and her works are focus on racism (Cotter).

The Female Oppression Of Women In William Shakespeare
In Shakespeare s comedy, MoV, the female protagonists are not given the same opportunities men or
treated seriously and rather only given these opportunities or have their words taken seriously if they
act as men through cross dressing. From this portrayal, modern audiences can learn that oppression
was present in the past and still continues to affect women in today s world. Portia has to cross dress
in order to take on the role of a lawyer. She along with her maid in waiting, Nerissa That they shall
think we are accomplishèd/With that we lack (3.4.62 63)During the Shakespearean era, women were
not viewed as intelligent and lacked skills to have such roles. Going under the guise of a lawyer Portia
would be able hold a position that she would not be able to have if she was appeared as a woman.
Furthermore, this position also allows for her to have more power and gain respect from individuals in
her society. While under this persona, Shylock lauds a disguised Portia for her judgement, saying A
Daniel come to judgement! Yea, a Daniel./O wise young judge,how I do honor thee! (4.1.231 232) 1)
Shylock likens Portia to a wise and important biblical figure, Daniel, who made wise judgement. By
complimenting Portia, it goes to show that what a woman says is only deemed serious if not seen as a
woman saying it. When she returns to Belmont, Portia reads a letter out to Bassanio and Gratiano,
which contains the line, There you shall find that Portia was the doctor,/Nerissa there her

Theme Of Sonnet XIV
John Donne s poem Sonnet XIV delves into the relationship with God and his enemy, Satan. The form
of the poem is a source of tension. When conflicting elements resist, one another tension is produced.
Therefore, Donne creates tension by abandoning the traditional Petrarchan Sonnet that conforms to the
speaker s love for a woman and he speaks about his love for God. Donne s resolution to the conflict of
an overcrowded relationship is in him telling God to take control, so that he can be free from sin.
In John Donne s poem, Sonnet XIV, the poem s controlling meter is an Iambic Pentameter. The poems
rhyme scheme is regular. The rhyme scheme of a Petrarchan sonnet being abbaabbacdcdee . In the
poem, there are three (3) quatrains, followed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker makes use of figurative language and imagery to convey a more vivid description. The
speaker is comparing himself to a seized town. Meaning in more blatant terms, a town in captivity.
The site town in this case is a symbol that the speaker has used to represent himself. The symbol is a
contribution to the unity of the story. The symbol helps to create a more vivid picture of the way in
which the speaker is in bondage and needs to be freed. The speaker continues his train of thought by
saying labor to admit you, but oh, to no end meaning he tries to let the rightful owners in but his
attempt was futile. Then he makes mention that he should be protected by the statement Reason your
viceroy in me, me should defend/ But is captiv d, and proves weak or untrue . Suggesting that the ruler
in him is either being held in confinement, puny or disloyal. All of the aforementioned have a
congruous effect to the unity of the poem in entirety. Here we view the speaker explaining that sin had
him held captive and he wanted to let God in so that God could intervene and free him from sin.
However, the part of him that should have taken control did

Martin Luther King And Malcolm X
Civil rights activists all had the same paramount goal in mind: equality for Black people in the United
States. While everyone could generally agree on what they wanted fair wages, an end to segregation,
voting rights the means to the end were a little fuzzy, at best. What was the best strategy to gain
respect for the Black people of America, in a society that largely didn t tolerate people of color? Two
major philosophies on the matter stemmed from the minds of great activists Martin Luther King, Jr.
and Malcolm X. Dr. King s approach to the situation was, as always, peaceful protest, while Malcolm
X promoted supporting Black business and communities, allowing them to prosper. While both
approaches would bring about positive change for the Black community in the 60 s, Malcolm X s
approach to the matter makes a more compelling argument by being significantly more beneficial in
the long run.
Both Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X agreed that boycotting white only industries was a
sound method of protest against white supremacy in the economy. However, Dr. King s approach to
the problem ended there. This is not to say that his boycotts weren t effective at all: according to the
article provided, Operation Breadbasket have increased the income of the Negro community by more
than two million dollars annually (King), showing that King s plans weren t all just idealistic
nonsense, which is what Malcolm X most disagreed with in terms of political philosophy. Operation
Breadbasket, the Chicago plan to boycott products from companies that refused to hire Black people
and treat them fairly, succeeded temporarily. Dr. King s boycotting approach cut profits in white only
industries in Chicago and forced them to hire Black people and pay them fair wages, both
substantially beneficial to the Black community. Where Dr. King s plans fall short, however, is in
securing this change and preventing power from slipping back into the hands of white supremacists.
This is why, though a respectable approach, boycotting alone is not enough to evoke lasting,
meaningful change in a community built on oppression and subjugation.
Malcolm X boycotted white industry as well, but the extra steps in his plan went beyond that

What s more, it seems that with each generation this task becomes increasing difficult as words find new mediums across which to be expressed and heard. Conventional definitions of literature, in turn, seem to be of increasingly less use as the words multiply around us. The most successful definitions, under these circumstances, are those which seek not to assess the nature of literature, which is ever changing, but its function in human society, which has remained relatively unchanged over the annals of time. The world of The Witcher 3 is not wholly unlike our own. Women, particularly in marginalized segments of society, struggle to assert their own worth and determine their own destinies in a world in which men hold virtually all major positions of power. In The Witcher 3, this manifests itself in many ways. One way is in the ubiquitous prostitutes of Novigrad, through whom the writers challenge players to assess their own beliefs about sex work. Opportunities arise throughout the game to either help affirm their humanity and defend them against male abuse and violence, or partake in their services and leave them to their fates as objects of male desire. Given the ineptitude of many of their world s male leaders, there are also many women from the upper segments of society who seek to define not only their own fates, but those of their entire nation. Upon traveling to the Skellige Isles, an archipelago off the western coast of the Northern Kingdoms, players find themselves interrupting a funeral service for the recently deceased king, Bran. Regarding this tradition with disdain, Birna seeks instead to form Skellige into a dynastic monarchy after that of the rival Nilfgaardian Empire with her son upon the throne. • 10. Ebola Emergency Response Strategy Analysis Ebola Emergency Response Strategy Introduction Community is an interconnected group of persons living in a given locality. Communities have identical social pattern. Public health awareness is an aggregate obligation of the entire society. Ebola can be managed by the assertion that the community holds that they are together and have been hit by a common catastrophe (Winkworth 5). Community can be organised into well defined groups in order as to achieve the health objective. The use of Laveracks approach therefore is a reliable strategic approach, which can be used to implement community health programs in the fight of Ebola. Laverack s strategic approach Laverack developed a five continuum of community empowerment. These continuums have, however, been widely used in Australia during emergency times, where they proved effective. They include: personal action, small groups, community organization, partnership and social and political action (Laverack 63). The continuums are built on the basis of community empowerment. The continuums can be used effectively in the management of Ebola by ensuring participation of every element in the community in ascending order. No one can settle upon a drinking age that everyone is in agreement with; should it be 18 or 21? Ages 18 and 21 are the most popular options, yet neither one has 100% of the vote. With the current legal drinking age in America standing at 21, meaning that people under the age of 21 cannot purchase or consume alcoholic food or beverages, there is the question of whether or not to lower it to 18 or 19 years old. The State University campus is dry, meaning there is neither alcohol nor paraphernalia allowed on the campus at any time regardless of age. In the same city, however, Christian Brothers University is a wet campus that allows all students 21 and older to have alcohol in their dorms and around campus. A major question that should be considered is how schools such as these two would be affected in their policies if the drinking age were lowered. One side to this debate is that the legal drinking age should be lowered from 21 to around 18 or 19 years old, and that young adults should be allowed to drink in controlled environments. This idea is presented by Ruth Engs, a professor of Applied Sciences at Indiana University. She states that environments such as taverns, pubs, restaurants and official university functions can be considered to be controlled environments. In these situations responsible drinking could be taught through role modeling and educational programs. Mature and sensible drinking behavior would be expected (Engs). In her article, Engs uses phrases such as forbidden fruit, and a badge of rebellion against authority to describe how teens view drinking. In her opinion, if the drinking age were to be lowered, young adults would no longer feel the pressure to drink in order to be cool. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Just from sheer ignorance of the culture alone, Americans have indirectly and directly persecuted thousands upon thousands of Native Americans young and old. Author Louise Erdrich, a Native American herself, explores the themes of stereotypes and disregard for a culture in her poem Dear John Wayne . Through her use of irony and juxtaposition, in combination with imagery, Erdrich paints a picture for the audience detailing the struggle of being a Native American teen in a largely white America. Firstly, the initial usage of irony within the poem is woven perfectly in the poem to enhance to feeling the speaker of the poem is trying to convey; that feeling being the cruel, harsh reality of the Native American s existence. The American s paint them as violent, ruthless savages, uncultured and only looking for a fight. The irony is that this slowly starts to show to be true and become a self fulfilling prophecy when some of the speaker s Native American friends fall over the hood slipping in the hot spilled butter (1), laughing. Economic Crisis Stabilization in the Wake of Economic Crisis Perhaps the most significant reason Pittsburgh was able to recover from the collapse of steel was the decision, made early on by city officials and local developers, to seek out new industries rather than cling to the vestiges of the old. Beginning in 1981, the Allegheny Conference (ACC), a non profit coalition of local business and political leaders, made economic diversification their primary goal. Both forms of disrupted families are harmful to children and to society. The children of single parents are more likely to do poorly in school, commit crimes, and become single parents themselves. In addition, the increase in single parent families contributes to such social problems as poverty, crime, and a decline in the quality of public education. The debate about it is not simply about the social scientific evidence, although that is surely an important part of the discussion. It is also a debate over deeply held and often conflicting values. How do we begin to reconcile our long standing belief in equality and diversity with an impressive body of evidence that suggests that not all family structures produce equal outcomes for children? How can we square traditional notions of public support for dependent women and children with a belief in women s right to pursue autonomy and independence in childbearing and child rearing? How do we uphold the freedom of adults to pursue individual happiness in their private relationships and at the same time respond to the needs of children for stability, security, and permanence in their family lives? What do we do when the interests of adults and children conflict? These are the difficult issues at stake in the debate over family structure. Unfortunately, epilepsy cannot be cured, but could be controlled by pharmacological or electrical treatment based on seizure prediction (Moghim Corne, 2014). Since EEG has advantages such as speed, high time resolution and non invasive natures, it maintains one of the most frequently used tools in predicting epilepsy (Hasan et al. 2017). Electroencephalography (EEG) has a broad use in both medical practices and medical research for diagnosing and identifying epileptic seizures, syncope (fainting), cognitive psychologies, and psychophysiological research (Niedermever, 2004). Commonly used in identifying epilepsy, the EEG helps the doctors to distinguish types of seizures, the reasons to trigger the seizures and also the treatment needed. Types of EEG are different according to test aims, facilities, medical and patients situations, and are generally separated into 4 types: Routine EEG, Sleep EEG, Ambulatory EEG and Video EEG. All of the types would record electrical activities of the brain, investigate their potential fluctuations and brain waves, and perform analysis to convert the data into useful information in identifying the seizures. Usually, the EEG test will last for 20 to 40 minutes, and will be conducted by attaching scalp with the electrodes which are connected to an EEG recording machine (NHS, 2017). There are three main cases to be solved in this project. First is to identify whether an EEG showing seizure or not. Second is to identify the 5 categories of EEG. Third is to identify the classification of EEG, whether it is indicating healthy brain activity, potential epileptic seizure or actual epileptic seizure. Data Understanding The given data set contains fields such as ID, X1 to X178 which represents the 1 second EEG result and y which represents the EEG type. While under this persona, Shylock lauds a disguised Portia for her judgement, saying A Daniel come to judgement! Yea, a Daniel./O wise young judge, how I do honor thee! (4.1.231 232) 1) Shylock likens Portia to a wise and important biblical figure, Daniel, who made wise judgement. By complimenting Portia, it goes to show that what a woman says is only deemed serious if not seen as a woman saying it. When she returns to Belmont, Portia reads a letter out to Bassanio and Gratiano, which contains the line, There you shall find that Portia was the doctor,/Nerissa there her ... • 45. Theme Of Sonnet XIV John Donne s poem Sonnet XIV delves into the relationship with God and his enemy, Satan. The form of the poem is a source of tension. When conflicting elements resist, one another tension is produced. Therefore, Donne creates tension by abandoning the traditional Petrarchan Sonnet that conforms to the speaker s love for a woman and he speaks about his love for God. Donne s resolution to the conflict of an overcrowded relationship is in him telling God to take control, so that he can be free from sin. In John Donne s poem, Sonnet XIV, the poem s controlling meter is an Iambic Pentameter. The poems rhyme scheme is regular. The rhyme scheme of a Petrarchan sonnet being abbaabbacdcdee . In the poem, there are three (3) quatrains, followed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker makes use of figurative language and imagery to convey a more vivid description. The speaker is comparing himself to a seized town. Meaning in more blatant terms, a town in captivity. The site town in this case is a symbol that the speaker has used to represent himself. The symbol is a contribution to the unity of the story. The symbol helps to create a more vivid picture of the way in which the speaker is in bondage and needs to be freed. The speaker continues his train of thought by saying labor to admit you, but oh, to no end meaning he tries to let the rightful owners in but his attempt was futile. Then he makes mention that he should be protected by the statement Reason your viceroy in me, me should defend/ But is captiv d, and proves weak or untrue . Suggesting that the ruler in him is either being held in confinement, puny or disloyal. All of the aforementioned have a congruous effect to the unity of the poem in entirety. Here we view the speaker explaining that sin had him held captive and he wanted to let God in so that God could intervene and free him from sin. However, the part of him that should have taken control did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Martin Luther King And Malcolm X Civil rights activists all had the same paramount goal in mind: equality for Black people in the United States. While everyone could generally agree on what they wanted fair wages, an end to segregation, voting rights the means to the end were a little fuzzy, at best. What was the best strategy to gain respect for the Black people of America, in a society that largely didn t tolerate people of color? Two major philosophies on the matter stemmed from the minds of great activists Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. Dr. King s approach to the situation was, as always, peaceful protest, while Malcolm X promoted supporting Black business and communities, allowing them to prosper. While both approaches would bring about positive change for the Black community in the 60 s, Malcolm X s approach to the matter makes a more compelling argument by being significantly more beneficial in the long run. Both Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X agreed that boycotting white only industries was a sound method of protest against white supremacy in the economy. However, Dr. King s approach to the problem ended there. This is not to say that his boycotts weren t effective at all: according to the article provided, Operation Breadbasket have increased the income of the Negro community by more than two million dollars annually (King), showing that King s plans weren t all just idealistic nonsense, which is what Malcolm X most disagreed with in terms of political philosophy. Operation Breadbasket, the Chicago plan to boycott products from companies that refused to hire Black people and treat them fairly, succeeded temporarily. Dr. King s boycotting approach cut profits in white only industries in Chicago and forced them to hire Black people and pay them fair wages, both substantially beneficial to the Black community. Where Dr. King s plans fall short, however, is in securing this change and preventing power from slipping back into the hands of white supremacists. This is why, though a respectable approach, boycotting alone is not enough to evoke lasting, meaningful change in a community built on oppression and subjugation. Malcolm X boycotted white industry as well, but the extra steps in his plan went beyond that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
