Mistakes Made By Learners As A Result Of Carelessness
Hansen (2006) explains errors as mistakes made by learners as a result of carelessness,
misinterpretation of symbols and texts, lack of relevant experience or knowledge related to a
Mathematical topic . From her research she found that misconceptions, eventually led to errors.
Drews (2005) defines misconceptions as the misapplication of a rule, an overgeneralization or under
generalization or an alternative conception of the situation . Misunderstandings are the result of a
failure to grasp what was being taught; therefore reinforcement of the correct method needs to be
issued.
Errors, misconceptions and misunderstandings are all found within the classroom and are
customary for children to use within their work. Vygotsky (1962) states that children think and
learn socially through experience, interaction and support (Smith et al, 2003). The activities enable
children to experiment, make decisions, errors and correct themselves (Bruce, 2005). As a teacher it
is crucial to identify the misconstrued knowledge/concepts and the underlying problems in the most
accurate way. It is through discussion with the child, their ideas and perceptions, that the true
reasons for the misconceptions become evident.
The National Numeracy Strategy (DfE, 1999) requires teachers to identify mistakes, using them as
positive teaching points by talking about them and any misconceptions that led to them . Children
regularly make errors, misconceptions and misunderstandings in Mathematics,

How Did Saddam Hussein Die
Some believe that Saddam Hussein should have not died because he did not actually finish
creating the nuclear weapons, others think that it is better now that he is gone. He had many
nuclear weapon facilities that were made. Hussein hid this from International Atomic Energy
agency or the IAEA for many years. He definitely did not plan on using these weapons for
good, and if he did finish then there would have been quite a disaster. These nuclear bombs and
weapons he wanted to create would have killed a ton of people. In trying to create these bombs
and weapons in Iraq, Hussein knew exactly what he was doing and tried his best to hide it. In
knowing the history of the nuclear weaponprogram maybe there could have been something to stop
the damage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On September 9, 2002 it states that Saddam Hussein could have built a nuclear bomb in months
if he was able to get the material he needed. He had wanted to make nuclear weapons and went
on a worldwide hunt for materials to make an atomic bomb. In previous months, Iraq wanted to
buy thousands of specially designed aluminum tubes. The IAEA believed that these were made
to enrich the uranium. When the IAEA and the UNSCOM finally found out during one of the
inspections they wanted to get rid of all the weapons and equipment in the facilities. Saddam
Hussein never got to finish what he started because he was executed on December 31, 2006 for
his actions of the nuclear facilities and killing his own people. Iraq still has the expertise and
some of the materials needed to build nuclear weapons. Before Saddam Hussein death, he had
repeatedly met with his nuclear scientists for two years because he wanted to continue in
developing his nuclear program. This never happened because in 2003 he was caught and was put
in a United States base in Baghdad until he was handed over to Iraqi government to face crimes
against humanity on June 30 2004. He requested to get shot for his death penalty but was hung

A Feminist Perspective of John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums
John Steinbeck, in his short story The Chrysanthemums depicts the trials of a woman attempting
to gain power in a man s world. Elisa Allen tries to define the boundaries of her role as a woman
in such a closed society. While her environment is portrayed as a tool for social repression, it is
through nature in her garden where Elisa gains and shows off her power. As the story progresses,
Elisa has trouble extending this power outside of the fence that surrounds her garden. In the end,
Elisa learns but does not readily accept, that she possesses a feminine power weak for the time, not
the masculine one she had tried so hard to achieve through its imitation.

They look at a tractor and smoke, manly things, as they conclude their man s work. Just as their
environment surrounds all persons, fences surround animals and men surround women.
As she looks out to these men, we look at Elisa. Although she is doing the feminine work of
gardening, she is dressed like a man. She wore a black hat low on her forehead to cover her hair,
thick leather gloves covered her hands, and clodhopper shoes covering her small woman s feet. A
big corduroy apron covered the dress making her figure look blocked and heavy (396).
Unconsciously, as she looks through her fence at the men talking business, she is trying to cover up
her feminine qualities. She longs to be in their position and possess their characteristics.
As she does her gardening, something she enjoys and excels in, Her face was lean and strong...

over powerful (397). All of these characteristics are usually masculine adjectives. But in this case
they describe a woman attempting or at least imagining living as a part of such a man s world.
Yet Elisa s power is not used for masculine activities; in fact, her power is derived from a feminine
source, nature. Mother Nature, a female, controls the environment. This female power is part of
matriarchal lineage since Elisa a mother also could stick anything in the

The Benefits Of College Tuitions In America
College tuitions in American is too expansive for the young adult who has the potential to be
successful in our community. Many people were not able to attend college due to financial issues.
College tuitions can go over $100,000 for a four year college. In result, they find part time jobs to
pay their tuitions and spend extra time in collegefor total of six through seven years instead of four
years to achieve their bachelor degree. In addition, many college students take loans and had to pay
over $30,000 of debtafter attending college (Lobosco). It s upsetting to see people especially
young adults to get accept to an excellent college but unable to afford it.
This has become a huge problem because we are speaking about the future of America. The
people who has the potential to do good for the country. One of them can even be our president
one day and help aid America. Everyone deserve an opportunity to become successful however it
cost a lot of money and it hold many people back to do so. In the article When Colleges Dangle

(2) If Marx were to be still alive today, he would not be pleased with the current economy in the
United States. His biggest issues would be with government regulation, supply and demand, the
free market and most of all our current class system. Karl Marxs would be in favor of having
more government regulations in place. He would use wall street as an example of why this was
necessary. He would propose government regulations to limit the risks taken by individuals. These
risks often have potential to hurt the majority of population greatly. Marx believes that protecting
the majority of the population should always take precedence over the economic gain of few. (5)

Globalization and Human Welfare
International free trade has become the foundation of neoliberal globalization. The main
organizations for carrying out free trade are World Trade Organization (WTO) established on 1995,
International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB). The main aim was to promote
development and trade. Trade has become the lens through which development is perceived, rather
than the other way round . The concept of trade evolved right from Adam Smith and David Ricardo
who introduced the concept of comparative advantage which compares the productiveness across
countries. Here countries make use of their natural resources, climate, skills etc. According to Paul
Krugman trade reflects arbitrary or temporary advantages resulting from economies of scale... Show

World trade has grown five times in real terms since 1980, and its share of world GDP has risen
from 36 percent to 55 percent over this period. During the 1990s more Asian countries were
integrated into the trading system. The developing countries have been catching up with or
surpassing high income countries in their trade openness, reflecting the widespread convergence
of low and middle income countries trade systems toward the traditionally more open trading
regimes in place in advanced economies . Globalization measures distinguish between trade and
financial openness and include both de facto and de jure measures. Specifically, trade openness
is measured by the (unweighted) average tariff rate ( de jure measure), and the ratios of both
non oil exports and non oil imports to GDP ( de facto measures). Financial openness is measured
by the Chinn Ito index of capital account openness ( de jure measure), the ratios of various types
of financial liabilities (foreign direct investment, portfolio equity, and debt) to GDP and the stock
of foreign direct investment assets expressed as a percentage of GDP ( de facto measures). The
latter, which is closely associated to offshore, outsourcing, may be particularly relevant to measure
the impact of globalization on inequality in advanced countries, while its value is minimal

Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Essay
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Nineteen year old Mary Shelley didn t know when she began it that her ghost story would become
an enduring part of classic literature. Frankenstein is an admirable work simply for its captivating
plot. To the careful reader, however, Shelley s tale offers complex insights into human experience.
The reader identifies with all of the major characters and is left to heed or ignore the cautions that
their situations provide. Shelley uses the second person narrative style, allusions both to Coleridge s
Rime of the Ancient Mariner and the legend of Prometheus, and the symbols of both light and fire
to warn against the destructive thirst for forbidden knowledge.
Frankenstein s tale is narrated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, Shelley s several allusions to Coleridge s poem and the parallel plots that Frankenstein s
tragedy shares with the mariner s tale are intentional references meant to expose her warning
purpose. The mariner s tale is a mirror image of Frankenstein s identical yet backwards. The
mariner is punished for killing a Christ figure, Frankenstein is punished for vitalizing a demon
both offenses concern the illegitimate use of a godly prerogative and a disregard for the
sanctity of life. Captain Walton the warned of course, is also a mariner; however, he sails north
and the Ancient Mariner the warner sailed south. Walton himself is the first to allude directly to
the rime saying that he goes to the land of mist and snow, yet he swears that he shall kill no
albatross nor, says he, shall he return as worn and woeful as the Ancient Mariner (33). His vows
are ironic, however, because he is saved from that ancient fate only by listening to Frankenstein s
tale which warns him against his hubristic quest for knowledge. Toward the end of the book,
Captain Walton weighs his chance for discovery and glory against the lives of his men noting, It
is terrible to reflect that the lives of all these men are endangered through me. If we are lost, my
mad schemes are the cause (181). Happily, Frankenstein s mariner like caution proves effective for
the captain who heeds the warning and turns back. The second person

The Decline of Virtue Ethics in the Modern Society and Its Different Forms
The Modern Society
The modern society may be moving forward in terms of scientific and technological advancements
yet as years go by, the development of ethics and morality tends to move backward. Due to our
utmost fascination to material advancements, we tend to forget what truly matters. According to
Smith (2014), the modern society rewards material progress while neglecting moral progress. As
such, people of the modern age disregard moral and intellectual virtues as if they are a nuisance to
their everyday lives. Furthermore, the society prioritizes other affiliations and pursues their own
endeavors without considering the possible consequences that might arise due to their unethical or
immoral practices. In addition, the modern society is heavily influenced by copious ... Show more

For instance, we allocate bigger budgets for science research and we give prestigious rewards to
outstanding achievers in science. But society allocates far smaller amounts to advance moral
interests or to reward moral achievers (Smith, 2014). Moreover, the decline of virtue ethics due to
the flawed educational system is explicitly depicted through the immoral practices of the modern
youth that they perceive as something worth bragging about or something that they consider as an
achievement. The modern society also disregards ethics for the reason that they think it is
something that is old or irrelevant for the modern setting. In lieu with the aforementioned
statements, the educational system merely gives importance to the development of the sciences
without taking to account the importance of ethical and intellectual virtues in the overall

The Little Buddhism Analysis
The Little Buddha is an amazing, and uplifting movie, and full of positive meaning, yet it also is
full of religious meaning. Aspects of life and death are shown throughout the movie, but the film
mainly explains three key aspects of Buddhism. Buddhist teachings of reincarnation, impermanence,
and enlightenment, are connected deeply to each other and is illustrated throughout the film. The
first Buddhist teaching of reincarnation is evident from the beginning of the movie. The audience
starts to see these teachings when a Buddhist teacher is making it evident to his student (Lama
Norbu) that he is ready to reincarnate, after he passes away. Lama finds out that there are three

It subtly explained that death is not permanent as it is merely a temporary state of one s soul that
will cycle on. The films depiction of impermanence gives the viewers the message of change and
how it is a part of life we all go through, however, death is not permanent. Nothing is forever in life,
everyone goes through changes that are positive and negative just like the films element of
impermanence, that provide the natural changes in the challenges of life. For instance, when one of
the reincarnates child s father s brother dies and they experience a difficult death, which is also
showing that life is not finite. Another illustration of impermanence and a lesson of reincarnation is
a scene where Lama Norbu explains what it means to reincarnate and its relation to the religion. He
explains that the mind and the body is like the content and the container . He illustrates this by
smashing his cup of tea, and states, the cup is not a cup anymore. Yet where is the tea? [...]just
like the mind after one dies, the tea(content) moves from one container to the next, but it is still tea

The Wicker Man Essay
Filled with mystery and thriller, The Wicker Man is one of the strangest yet interesting films out
there. In the film, the story takes place on a small private island off of Washington where Nicholas
Cage s character, Edward Malus, is looking for his daughter who had vanished. It is filled with
twists and turns throughout the film, making it interesting and entertaining. I felt as if the film was
well made and had a different storyboard compared to traditional thriller mysteries.
Edward Malus, a police man in Washington, has been experiencing strange dreams and
hallucinations since a car crash occurred after he had pulled a woman and her daughter over. He
later receives a letter from his ex fiancГ©, Willow, telling him that her daughter, Rowan, (later

the small secluded island, he meets some of the local residents and starts to have bad feelings about
whole community, especially when they were not being helpful. Malus finds clues on what could

The role of 3,4 Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in the scientific community is
controversial, but recent findings suggest that it could be a promising aid in psychotherapy
(Mithoefer et al., 2013). MDMA is a popular recreational drug that has both stimulant and
hallucinogenic properties and is known to promote positive mood and enhanced overall sociability
in users (Liechti et al., 2001). An overwhelming amount of past research on MDMA raises concerns
about its neurotoxicity, but there is no present consensus on the topic due to both the lack of
translatability across species and inconsistent findings (Mueller et al., 2013). Despite the
uncertainty about its neurotoxicity, MDMA is presently undergoing trials to test its efficacy as a...

A 5 HT2A receptor antagonistblocked the social effects of MDMA. A 5 HT2C agonistdecreased
huddling but did not affect social vocalizations, and a 5 HT1A agonist decreased huddling (Pitts
et al., 2017). The researchers concluded that MDMA and its enantiomers increase the frequency
of affiliative behaviors and vocalizations in a dose dependent fashion, and the behavioral effects
of MDMA are 5 HT2A receptor dependent (Pitts et al., 2017). This study has many strengths.
Squirrel monkeys are an excellent model because they are behaviorally well characterized and
metabolize MDMA quite similarly to humans, which gives the results better translatability to
humans than rodent models (Mueller et al., 2013). LMMs were a strong choice for analysis, as
they are capable of identifying a relationship between several variables while also reducing the
risk of a type I error. Testing both racemic MDMA and its individual enantiomers was critical to
improve understanding of each enantiomer s distinct behavioral effects, which was seldom
considered in past studies. Controlling doses by subject mass was also essential the effects of
MDMA are heavily dose dependent, and skew from dosing error could alter the size of the
observed behavioral effect between individuals (Liechti et al., 2001). The use of antagonists and
agonists to observe the function of individual receptor subtypes in relation to the behavioral effects
of MDMA was critical for improving the pharmacological

Family Capitalism And The 19th Century
Family capitalism is regarded to firms that are operated by family and its family member,
although it is also known as perpetuation of family capitalism, which means long live and long
lasting, they usually could not be passed on by more than one generation (Jones and Rose, 1993).
Since the early 20th Century, among the world, Europe had a concentration of the largest ten and
twenty companies in countries that are under family control. For instance in France at the
beginning of the 21st Century, only 15 families had controlled 33.8% of the total market value of
listed corporate assets; and in Germany, family firms hold 17 of the largest hundred companies.
However on the other hand, there was only 6.6% of market value that were hold by family firms
in the United Kingdom (James, 2008). The aim of this essay is to explain whether Cadbury was a
typical family capitalism in the 19th Century. I will argue that Cadbury was not a typical family
capitalism as they held the Quaker beliefs that made them different from other family firms; they
also had a different organisation structure and management style; and they lasted longer than the
other family firms at that time. This essay is structure as follows; first, I will explain the Quaker
belief and how it made Cadbury different from other family firms; then I will examine Cadbury s
organisation structure and management style; and finally, I will look at the durability of Cadbury
and compare it with another family firm.

Edgar Allan Poe s The Masque Of The Red Death
Throughout the history of literature we see an obvious string of religion connecting most works
to the core of their beginnings. From creation stories of tribes, to colonial poems, to the twisted
mind of Edgar Allan Poe, there is a connection. Poe s The Masque of the Red Death may not
seem to portray the ideas of religion but through close examination, the association will become
less cloudy. Poe s use of symbolism, narrator, word choice, helps readers unmask the idea of
religion. Poe s use of symbolism is very evident throughout the story of The Masque of the Red
Death. Much has been made about the meaning of the rooms that fill Prince Prospero s lavish
getaway. One such critique, Brett Zimmerman writes, It is difficult to believe that a symbolist
such as Poe would refuse to assign significance to the hues in a tale otherwise loaded with
symbolic and allegorical suggestiveness (Zimmerman 60). Many agree that the seven rooms
represent the seven stages of human existence. The first, blue, signifying the beginnings of life.
Keeping in mind Poe s Neo Platonism and Transcendentalism stance, the significance of blue is
taken a step further. Not only does blue symbolize the beginning of life, but the idea of immortality
is apparent when considering these ideas. Perhaps The Masque of the Red Death then, is not quite
the bleak existential vision we have long thought it to be , expounds Zimmerman (Zimmerman 70).
Poe s use of each color is significant to the seven stages

Diary Of The Dead
Of all the Dead films, Diary of the Dead is by far one I enjoy the least. Not a sequel, but
occurring at the same time as the original film, as you can hear some of the broadcasts over the
radio. It feels disjointed with the other films as it feels like more a reboot than sharing any form
of canonical order with the other films in the series. Another big issue I have is the found
footage/documentary approach that the film takes. As it claims to be for us, to help us survive.
The worlds ended and the internet would have been one of the first things to collapse. How are
we seeing this and by the point that we would have seen it, chances are we already know all of this
anyway. Rendering the very concept of film pointless.

My main issue is in the other Dead films, the core aspect of what the movie is about it subtle.
Here the message is not only blatant, but straight up repeated over and over. It doesn t happen if it
didn t happen on camera, along with the constant need to point out Jason is disconnected by
viewing the events through a camera. Going so far as to watch his friends nearly die because he
refuses to set down the camera long enough to help.
Final thoughts, Diary of the Dead is mostly a hot mess. Nothing the film tries to congeals all the
well and what few good parts it has are quickly passed over. Samuel being one of these aspects,
how the Amish survive or handle the zombie Apocalypse is an amazing thing to cover. But the
character is written off as quick as he s written in. This films only saving grace is that it isn t the

Underdogs In The Book Of Daniel
The young underdogs and their victories in the old testament is an interesting topic to think about
in a theological point of view. These so called underdogs went through many trials just as most of
the characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out.
They all started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name
underdogs. The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character
can be seen in different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the biblepresents them.
Take for example Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success.
Daniel s experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian
capital, where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society.
His loyal service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people
of Scripture. Daniel is one of the only major figures in the Bible to produce a completely positive
record of his actions.
Daniel was humble and courteous. Courtesy is one the many Daniel qualities. Daniel had indeed

French Revolution Turning Point Essay
This was a turning point in the revolution, when the government lost most of its control over the
population. Rights of Man and Citizen was also adopted to forestall the violence, as work on a
Constitution slowly began. August 27, 1789, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was
adopted by the National Constituent Assembly (History.com). These Enlightenment ideas such as
freedom of speech were radical at that time. The declaration professed its commitment to discard the
archaic ancien regime with a new order. This new government would be established on freedom of
speech, equal opportunity, representative government and popular sovereignty (History.com).

War was declared on Austria and Prussia in 1972 by the new legislative Assembly (History.com).
They believed that French emigres were arranging regressive counter revolutionary alliances. By
declaring war they also hoped to spread their ideals across Europe, forcibly (History.com). This
was a glimpse of the insanity that the new government was going to bring to France. In the heart of
France the revolt had gripped the nation, as the political disaster took an extreme turn. This
occurred when a rising group of insurgents, led by a radical group called the Jacobins, attacked the
royal residence at the Tuileries Palace (History.com). They seized the king and his family on August
10,1792 during this raid. During the following month, Parisians revolutionaries murdered hundreds
of accused counter revolutionaries, during a surge of violence. At this stage the old government had
lost all power of command and they were simply trying to save themselves from the mess they had
made. The legislative Assembly was replaced by a new institution that commanded the abolition of
the monarchy and the formation of the French Republic. This organization was named the National

Lithuanian Migrations
On August 23rd, 1939 Joachim Ribbontrop, representing Nazi Germany, and Vyacheslav Molotov,
representing the Soviet Union publically signed the German Soviet Nonaggression Pact. In addition
to the nonaggression pact the two also agreed to a secret additional protocol, which put Lithuania,
Estonia, Latvia, and Finland into the Soviet Unions sphere of influence. Though Lithuania declared
its neutrality in WWII, the small Baltic nation and its people would soon be dragged into the war.
Following the nonaggression pact, assigning Lithuania to the Soviet sphere of influence, the

The LAF was able to achieve victory, liberating Lithuanian cities and expelling the Soviet Union.
The victory, however, was short lived. The German military moved in to replace the Soviets as the
new occupying power. Once again the Lithuanians organized a resistance to the occupation. The
newest addition to the resistance was an underground political center known as the Supreme
Committee for the Liberation of Lithuania. In 1944 the new Lithuanian political power was able to
negotiate with their German occupiers to create a militia type organization, known as the Home
Guard. The stated objective of the Home Guard was to defend the homeland against the Red Army.
Not long afterward, the Germans discovered the true purpose of the Home Guard, to establish a free
and independent Lithuania after the defeat of the Nazis by the Allies. Upon discovering the true
intentions the Nazis disbanded the Home Guard. Following the disbanding, many of the Home
Guard members relocated themselves to the forest in anticipation of the impending Soviet
occupation and in anticipation of guerrilla warfare. It is the early Home guard members who would
later form the basis for the most well known and successful resistance movement in Lithuania, the
Forest brothers. From 22 June till 9 August 1944, the Soviets conducted Operation Bagration,
defeating the Nazis and liberating Lithuania once again. Following a familiar pattern, the Soviets,

Why Is Commercial Whaling Should Be Banned
Countless whales are killed each year rounding to at least 1,500 a year, decreasing in its population

health of the ecosystem. Therefore, commercial whaling should be banned because whales could

Difference Between Peanut Butter And Jelly Essay
For starters, I decided to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich placed on a napkin. The
materials that I needed were peanut butter, grape jelly, bread, a butter knife, and a napkin. I
placed the materials in front of me then sat on my dominant hand as instructed. The first thing I
had to do was open up the napkin and then get 2 slices of bread. I think this was fairly easy since
I didn t have to do anything major. The next step was to apply the peanut butter on one slice of
bread and grape jelly on the other slice of bread. I found this the most difficult part for many
reasons. One, my hands are small so it was hard to wrap my hand around the peanut butter lid.
Secondly, I could not get a good grip on the lid of the container. I kept trying for 4 minutes to open
it but I was unsuccessful.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

texture. So I tried to grip the knife between my thumb and pointing finger while using my other
fingers to hold down the bread. However, that didn t go too well since I ended up ripping the
bread in half. Evenutally, I gave up and moved on to the grape jelly. It was fairly easy to open up
the lid and pour the jelly on to the bread. However, by the time I finished I had lost my appetite
so I gave the sandwich to my mom who added bananas to it. Then I had to clean up my mess and
that didn t go too well. I had the hardest time getting the twist thing back on the bread bag. Then I
had to make multiple trips to the kitchen to place everything back in their correct spot since I could

Brushing Vs Fllossing
What comes first, brushing or flossing?
It s time to puzzle this out because people have been arguing about which comes first; brushing or
flossing? Many say that brushing before flossing is the proper way of cleaning the teeth, while
others argue that flossing before brushing makes the teeth healthier.
Truth is, either of the two comes first is correct. The best way to remove decay causing plaque and
obtain best oral health is through thorough cleaning, and not by the sequence between brushing and
flossing.
So the right question is supposed to be:
How to thoroughly clean your teeth using toothbrush and floss?
Brushing
First, choose a toothbrush that is comfortable both to your hand and in your mouth, and use it twice
a day for at least two minutes. Place the toothbrush against your gums at a 45 degree angle. Brush
first the outer tooth surfaces by moving the brush back and forth in a gently manner, with tooth
wide strokes. Then, brush the inner tooth surfaces and the chewing surfaces of the teeth, including
the inside surfaces of the front teeth. Make sure that you also brush your tongue in order to remove
bacteria that can cause bad breath. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flossing
Brushing your teeth is best paired with flossing because these two work together to achieve better
oral health care. Your toothbrush can t completely remove the plaque from your teeth so you need
the help of floss. The floss cleans between the teeth, thus removing all remaining debris stuck inside.
It cleans the part beyond the reach of your toothbrush.
Pull an 18 to 24 length dental floss from your floss dispenser, and then wrap its ends around your
index and middle fingers. Hold the floss tightly around each tooth in a C shape. Next, move it back
and forth in a push pull motion and up and down against the side of each

1. Which process group starts at the start and ends at the end of the project and why?
Monitoring and controlling is the process group that starts at the start and ends at the end as it
performs integrated change control to manage and control changes to the cost baseline, scope and
schedule. Further, it helps in analyzing and measuring the performance of the project and finding
the variation of the project from the project management plan and provides asolutions to those
problems.
2. Why does the closing process group start so early in the chart?
Since some project deliverables get finished before and get the sponsor acknowledgment that is the
reason the closing process group begins ahead of schedule in the chart.
3. Why do the planning and execution process groups have similar shapes and why is the executing
process group skewed to the right?
Both the planning and the execution process groups have the same shape as we know that
everything that is thought ahead and gets regard in planning process group will be done in the
execution process group. Since the execution is done when the fulfillment of the planning process
group, the execution process group is tilted towards the right. Nonetheless, the most elevated
measure of cash and time of all the process groups is taken by execution process group.

Analysis Of October Skies And Queen Of Katwe
Throughout history, people have risen who have influenced modern day society. Their inventions
or strong characters have marked them as important historical figures. Many are still remembered
today, due to the inspiration they have passed on, and many of these have also had movies
published telling their story. Movies such as October Skies and Queen of Katwe tell stories of two
separate beings, who have had a great impact in modern days. Although Homer Hickamand Phiona
Mutesi struggle to find their paths to success due to their circumstances and background, Phiona
Mutesi story possesses a more accessible storyline because of its emphasis on international figures
rather than national.
The movies October Skies and Queen of Katwe both hold two separate main characters, each
which is struggling in life in their own way and just wants to change their life. For Homer
Hickam, in October Skies, his dream is to do something with his life that does not include
mining for coal. His desire in life is to get away from his hometown by building a rocket and
hopefully getting a scholarship into college. On the other hand, there is Phiona Mutesi, in Queen
of Katwe, whose desire is to escape her life of poverty and have her family live a better life. The
way she goes about it is by entering a chess competition, which if she wins she will get a reward
that will help her build a better life. Both Homer and Phiona have the same dream, to escape. They

Different Forms Of Expressing Love
What is love? When we born into this world, there is already those that love and adore us. One
article defines it as a variety of different feelings and emotions, chemical brain states, and attitudes
that ranges from interpersonal affection ( I love my mother ) to pleasure (Lyons, A Deeper Look ).
Loveis a unique and complicated neurological emotion which is very difficult to understand. It is
just like hunger and thirst, but just more permanent. Many of us talk about love as if we have no
control over it, as if it is unconditional or blind, in the sense that we have no control over it. Many
artists and poets use the heart as a symbol that represents love, even though the truth is that it
occurs in our brain. Unlike modern society, the older generations did not only use the word love
to describe all the various emotions that go along with it. There are many different forms of
expressing love. The three words, I love you, take on varying meanings to a friend, to a parent, or
to a significant other. In order to describe these forms, the Ancient Greeks invented four distinct
words for love : agГЎpe, Г©ros, storge, and philГa. These four are types of love that we experience
in different stages in our lives.
AgГЎpe is the Greek word for love at its highest by God. Not to be confused with philia love, it is
not the type of love between a husband and wife or a brotherly love. It is more of a parental,
sacrificial form of love. Of all the four types of love, this one is

This process is started when the patient is still a child, often before any other orthodontic treatment
has begun. However, it can still be performed during later stages of treatment.
Dentofacial orthopedic therapy usually focuses on correcting potential bite and spacial problems by
guiding the growth and development of the jaw. We do this by using orthodontic appliances such as
mouthguards, space maintainers, retainers, expanders, and other devices.
This process is important because it helps to ensure the success of later orthodontic treatment. In
some cases, it can even prevent the need for braces down the road! For instance, if a child s
spacing issues can be resolved while their jaw is still developing and their permanent teeth are still
coming in, it may prevent teeth from becoming crowded and needing braces to straighten them.
Even if it doesn t prevent crowding completely, it will certainly help the later orthodontic treatment
to work faster and more efficiently.

This essay suggests that the narrator is drowning, Looking back, I wonder why all of us who
were subject to my grandfather s assaults me, my sisters, my cousins, and my mother, her sister,
their cousins before us didn t display more unmistakable signs of distress (Morgan 322). This
quote suggests that the narrator feels like she is drowning, because the author states that
drowning is quiet, and that is what the narrator doing, keeping quiet by not saying anything.
Readers could interpret the drowning swimmers as depressed people or the swimmers in distress
as the people who experience temporary panic, like students panicking over an essay. The
swimmers in distress are the people who panic over something that will eventually pass, because
they feel as if there is hope for them. If readers do not interpret the narrator as depressed, they may
say that narrator did not say anything because she did not know what to say, and writing this essay
was enough to speak out.
Essays found in the anthology are compelling because of the way certain concepts were
expressed in the essays. The authors do not fully give away what happens after the essay or
what each thing symbolizes. These pieces give the readers a sense of mystery. When a sense of
mystery is given, people are able to debate what happens in the piece. The essay, The Body by A.T

Homeric Seafaring
Surveying the Validity of Homeric Seafaring
Ancient Greeks predominantly lived in on island archipelagos or on the coast of nearby
mainland because mainland Greece is one of Europe s most mountainous countries, which
complicates animal and crop husbandry. Correspondingly, seafaring has always been paramount
in the Aegean, especially for the Greeks, due to ease of transportation, trade networks, and
defensive needs. Mainland Greeks utilized seafaring to bring in necessities cheaper than they
could produce them at home, and they saved time traveling by land, rather than trek the long
way through the mountains. When living on islands, sea travel is a necessity to contact
outsiders and participate in extensive trade. Even Greeks in Homer s epics appear to know the
sea well (Mark 2005, 145). Despite Greek seafaring s prominence, archeological and textual
evidence for seafaring in the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age Aegean is relatively sparse, with a
near lack of physical boat remains. Filling in holes, such as with literary sources, in the timeline
of Aegean seafaring provides a greater understanding of the development of Greek ships, as well
as the cultural implications of the technology invoked. The most extensive textual source of this
era s seafaring is Homer s epics, but they are epic poetry of the eighth or early seventh century BCE
concerning Greece s heroic, mythical past. Homer s Iliad and Odyssey are set in the Bronze Age, yet
include Iron Age elements (Mark 2005,

The Rorschach Inkblot Test Was Developed By Hermann Rorschach
The Rorschach Inkblot Test was developed by Hermann Rorschach in 1921 in his book
Psychodiagnostik. However, despite finally accomplishing his goal of publishing his now
infamous Inkblot Test, he died the following year. Rorschach s inkblots were created by hand
and he experimented with forty inkblots to begin his research. However, he later revised it
down to the ten we know today. Inkblots were a common phenomenon in Rorschach s childhood
because there were numerous games and party tricks using inkblots. So it is not a surprise to
find that Rorschach would use such a technique in his projective testing. Likewise, he and his
father were artistic, which played a large role in Rorschach s creation of such stimuli. (Chapter 2)
The Inkblot Test was later adopted by American psychologists by word of mouth due to there
being no written translation of Psychodianostik in English until 1942. Samuel Beck and Bruno
Klopfer were the two psychologists most popular for their modernization of the Rorschach scoring
system. Klopfer was a research assistant from Berlin who was able to administer the Rorschach, so
he taught Beck and his colleague Marguerite Hertz the administration of the test. Throughout this
era of the Rorschach and leading up to the publication of the Exner System by John Exner in 1974,
the Rorschach was a highly disputed and criticized form of assessment by many. Exner s System
integrated the five existing scoring systems created after Rorschach s death. Exner s

to act as a storytelling device to further her and Romeo s emotional developments against their
feuding families, exemplified in some of her most notable quotes. Despite her very first line in the
entire story being a humble assertion that marriageis an honor that [she] dreams not of (1.3.71), love
instantly blossoms upon her and Romeo s first encounter before they have even formally introduced

A Political Ideology Of Corruption In The United States
Those that would not be considered novices in the world of politics or government could argue
that corruption is antidemocratic albeit corruption is not a political ideology per say it does share
one or two fundamental characteristics with a ideology that is trans disposed to democracy and
that is the accumulation or adsorption of power and wealth by any means that does not incite arrest
or incarceration from committing these acts, and secondly the acts committed for, or by means of
corruption is in conflict with governing laws that all citizens must adhere by, this can also be in
contrast to ethics and morality to most people. White Collar crimeis most prevalent in first world

What Is Bucky Cantor s Sense Of Responsibility
Sandy Nguy October 10, 2014 CWL 315 Nemesis In the novel Nemesis, by Philip Roth, Bucky
Cantor, a resilient and healthy young gentleman with a sense of responsibility, has been
sidelined from war by his terrible vision. He works as a valued gym instructor and playground
director at Newark s Chancellor Playground. As Cantor is respected by the boys at the
playground, his community is going through a polio epidemic and some of the students in his
care begin to sicken and decease. His sense of responsibility sets in motion a cycle of uncertainty
and self pity that leads to his downfall. He has set expectations for himself that are beyond
impossible to achieve. As the epidemic continues and polio spreads even further, his fiancГ©e,

The boy whose name is Arnie is now older, graduated from college, working, and happily married
with two children. On the other hand, Bucky continues to blame himself and becomes bitter
with no hope. Because he keeps blaming himself for what has happened, he has excluded
himself from the world. Bucky would not date, show anyone his arm or legs. He did not even
pay a visit to the place he loved most Chancellor Avenue School. Bucky always had a personal
desire for a heroic challenge, but instead he was crippled physically by polio and demoralized by
persistent shame . Arnie tries to reason with him that Polio did them the harm and that Bucky
Cantor was just as much a victim (Nemesis 271) as anyone else. Bucky does not accept anything
the boy tells him, further railing against God and himself for what has happened. Bucky is this

The Roman Way Of Life Has Been Known To Us As One For...
The Roman way of life has been known to us as one for domination and expansion, at home and
abroad.
Throughout the duration of the second century Romans have been known for their brut forms of
expansions
through extraordinary military campaigns however, accompanied by on home soil with political
sparked violence
and triggered civil unrest due to reformations and thirst for power.
Through direct analyzation of ancient sources written by Plutarch on the lives of the Gracchus
brothers Tiberius
and Gaius, the outbreak of The Social Waras well as the Roman general and later dictator Sulla, we
can discuss
as to what caused violence to become an endemic part of Roman political life during 133 43 B.C.

It was commonly believed that the senators bribed Octavius to veto Tiberius s
proposal for the reform. That had created a rivalry between the two tribunes.
Nevertheless, the vote was accepted by the assembly and ultimately the law was passed.
Tiberius was favoured by the population masses however, due to various reasons
further on and with an attempt for re election at a time which strict and unbendable term limits were
imposed,
Tiberius was perceived as power hungry with ambitions of becoming a king by the senators. The
paranoia and
hate of the senators towards Tiberius had tipped and during one of the gatherings at the Capitol,
Tiberius and

slain by blows
from sticks and stones, but not one by the sword Plut. Ti. Gracch. 19 This is said to have been the

Evidence Based Practice And Health Care Policy Decision...
Evidence based practice includes the integration of best available research, clinical expertise, and
patient/client values and circumstances related to patient/client management, practice
management, and health care policy decision making (American Physical Therapy Association
(APTA), 2015, para. 9). It is based upon the notion that clinicians will seek out and use scientific
knowledge in the pursuit of best practice for their patient (Zidarov, Thomas, Poissant, 2013, p.
1571). In our quest to further improve our practice and take our profession to the next level, it is
our duty to serve our patients with the best available evidence. Evidence in physical therapy guides
us to look at valid and reliable examination measures for precise diagnosis, evaluate prognostic and
risk factors that influence and affect outcomes, assess treatment interventions credibility and
effectiveness, and weigh its benefits versus harm, review predictive factors and analyze relevance
to patient, clinical setting and available resources, and consider outcomes of episode of care.
Evidence based physical therapist practice starts with the formulation of clinical question about a
patient/client (Jewell, 2015, p.64). I came up with this clinical question after I observed this being
used by a colleague in practice: Is the use of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)
effective for restoring quadriceps femoris muscle strength in a 60 year old man following total knee
replacement (TKR) surgery?

Belle, a teenage girl who resided in a small community just outside of France, was known for her
breathtaking beauty. In today s times, she would be known as a real head turner . Belle was

would stroll about town she would receive any good or service based on her charm and beauty
completely free. Every man in this small community wanted a chance to marry Belle and always
tried to get her attention. Some men would bring her beautiful bouquets of roses just to make a
good impression and try to earn her love. Belle personally wasn t looking for love or even
interested in starting a life in their small community. She had different aspirations, like leaving the
community and venturing off and seeing what the world had to offer. Since she was little girl she
didn t feel like she was getting to experience the fullness of life stuck in this small community.
Unfortunately, due to restrictions from their local government, residents have been advised to not
leave the community grounds. Rumors have always circulated that there were spirits outside of
community grounds that you are required to pass into the next civilization. These sprits also are
rumored to take your most prized possession if or when they came across offenders. Belle
personally thought these rumors were myths, and contemplated her escape despite everyone beliefs.
Weeks had past now and she kept up

Mistakes Made By Learners As A Result Of Carelessness Hansen (2006) explains errors as mistakes made by learners as a result of carelessness, misinterpretation of symbols and texts, lack of relevant experience or knowledge related to a Mathematical topic . From her research she found that misconceptions, eventually led to errors. Drews (2005) defines misconceptions as the misapplication of a rule, an overgeneralization or under generalization or an alternative conception of the situation . Misunderstandings are the result of a failure to grasp what was being taught; therefore reinforcement of the correct method needs to be issued. Errors, misconceptions and misunderstandings are all found within the classroom and are customary for children to use within their work. Vygotsky (1962) states that children think and learn socially through experience, interaction and support (Smith et al, 2003). The activities enable children to experiment, make decisions, errors and correct themselves (Bruce, 2005). As a teacher it is crucial to identify the misconstrued knowledge/concepts and the underlying problems in the most accurate way. It is through discussion with the child, their ideas and perceptions, that the true reasons for the misconceptions become evident. The National Numeracy Strategy (DfE, 1999) requires teachers to identify mistakes, using them as positive teaching points by talking about them and any misconceptions that led to them . How Did Saddam Hussein Die Some believe that Saddam Hussein should have not died because he did not actually finish creating the nuclear weapons, others think that it is better now that he is gone. He had many nuclear weapon facilities that were made. Hussein hid this from International Atomic Energy agency or the IAEA for many years. He definitely did not plan on using these weapons for good, and if he did finish then there would have been quite a disaster. These nuclear bombs and weapons he wanted to create would have killed a ton of people. In trying to create these bombs and weapons in Iraq, Hussein knew exactly what he was doing and tried his best to hide it. On September 9, 2002 it states that Saddam Hussein could have built a nuclear bomb in months if he was able to get the material he needed. He had wanted to make nuclear weapons and went on a worldwide hunt for materials to make an atomic bomb. In previous months, Iraq wanted to buy thousands of specially designed aluminum tubes. The IAEA believed that these were made to enrich the uranium. When the IAEA and the UNSCOM finally found out during one of the inspections they wanted to get rid of all the weapons and equipment in the facilities. Saddam Hussein never got to finish what he started because he was executed on December 31, 2006 for his actions of the nuclear facilities and killing his own people. Iraq still has the expertise and some of the materials needed to build nuclear weapons. Before Saddam Hussein death, he had repeatedly met with his nuclear scientists for two years because he wanted to continue in developing his nuclear program. A Feminist Perspective of John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums John Steinbeck, in his short story The Chrysanthemums depicts the trials of a woman attempting to gain power in a man s world. Elisa Allen tries to define the boundaries of her role as a woman in such a closed society. While her environment is portrayed as a tool for social repression, it is through nature in her garden where Elisa gains and shows off her power. As the story progresses, Elisa has trouble extending this power outside of the fence that surrounds her garden. Just as their environment surrounds all persons, fences surround animals and men surround women. As she looks out to these men, we look at Elisa. Although she is doing the feminine work of gardening, she is dressed like a man. She wore a black hat low on her forehead to cover her hair, thick leather gloves covered her hands, and clodhopper shoes covering her small woman s feet. A big corduroy apron covered the dress making her figure look blocked and heavy (396). Unconsciously, as she looks through her fence at the men talking business, she is trying to cover up her feminine qualities. She longs to be in their position and possess their characteristics. Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Essay Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Nineteen year old Mary Shelley didn t know when she began it that her ghost story would become an enduring part of classic literature. Frankenstein is an admirable work simply for its captivating plot. To the careful reader, however, Shelley s tale offers complex insights into human experience. The reader identifies with all of the major characters and is left to heed or ignore the cautions that their situations provide. Captain Walton the warned of course, is also a mariner; however, he sails north and the Ancient Mariner the warner sailed south. Walton himself is the first to allude directly to the rime saying that he goes to the land of mist and snow, yet he swears that he shall kill no albatross nor, says he, shall he return as worn and woeful as the Ancient Mariner (33). His vows are ironic, however, because he is saved from that ancient fate only by listening to Frankenstein s tale which warns him against his hubristic quest for knowledge. Toward the end of the book, Captain Walton weighs his chance for discovery and glory against the lives of his men noting, It is terrible to reflect that the lives of all these men are endangered through me. If we are lost, my mad schemes are the cause (181). Happily, Frankenstein s mariner like caution proves effective for the captain who heeds the warning and turns back. The second person ... As such, people of the modern age disregard moral and intellectual virtues as if they are a nuisance to their everyday lives. The role of 3,4 Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in the scientific community is controversial, but recent findings suggest that it could be a promising aid in psychotherapy (Mithoefer et al., 2013). MDMA is a popular recreational drug that has both stimulant and hallucinogenic properties and is known to promote positive mood and enhanced overall sociability in users (Liechti et al., 2001). An overwhelming amount of past research on MDMA raises concerns about its neurotoxicity, but there is no present consensus on the topic due to both the lack of translatability across species and inconsistent findings (Mueller et al., 2013). The researchers concluded that MDMA and its enantiomers increase the frequency of affiliative behaviors and vocalizations in a dose dependent fashion, and the behavioral effects of MDMA are 5 HT2A receptor dependent (Pitts et al., 2017). This study has many strengths. Squirrel monkeys are an excellent model because they are behaviorally well characterized and metabolize MDMA quite similarly to humans, which gives the results better translatability to humans than rodent models (Mueller et al., 2013). Controlling doses by subject mass was also essential the effects of MDMA are heavily dose dependent, and skew from dosing error could alter the size of the observed behavioral effect between individuals (Liechti et al., 2001). Family Capitalism And The 19th Century Family capitalism is regarded to firms that are operated by family and its family member, although it is also known as perpetuation of family capitalism, which means long live and long lasting, they usually could not be passed on by more than one generation (Jones and Rose, 1993). Since the early 20th Century, among the world, Europe had a concentration of the largest ten and twenty companies in countries that are under family control. For instance in France at the beginning of the 21st Century, only 15 families had controlled 33.8% of the total market value of listed corporate assets; and in Germany, family firms hold 17 of the largest hundred companies. However on the other hand, there was only 6.6% of market value that were hold by family firms in the United Kingdom (James, 2008). • 15. Edgar Allan Poe s The Masque Of The Red Death Throughout the history of literature we see an obvious string of religion connecting most works to the core of their beginnings. From creation stories of tribes, to colonial poems, to the twisted mind of Edgar Allan Poe, there is a connection. Poe s The Masque of the Red Death may not seem to portray the ideas of religion but through close examination, the association will become less cloudy. Poe s use of symbolism, narrator, word choice, helps readers unmask the idea of religion. Poe s use of symbolism is very evident throughout the story of The Masque of the Red Death. Much has been made about the meaning of the rooms that fill Prince Prospero s lavish getaway. One such critique, Brett Zimmerman writes, It is difficult to believe that a symbolist such as Poe would refuse to assign significance to the hues in a tale otherwise loaded with symbolic and allegorical suggestiveness (Zimmerman 60). Many agree that the seven rooms represent the seven stages of human existence. The first, blue, signifying the beginnings of life. Keeping in mind Poe s Neo Platonism and Transcendentalism stance, the significance of blue is taken a step further. Not only does blue symbolize the beginning of life, but the idea of immortality is apparent when considering these ideas. Perhaps The Masque of the Red Death then, is not quite the bleak existential vision we have long thought it to be , expounds Zimmerman (Zimmerman 70). They all started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name underdogs. The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success. August 27, 1789, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was adopted by the National Constituent Assembly (History.com). This was a glimpse of the insanity that the new government was going to bring to France. In the heart of France the revolt had gripped the nation, as the political disaster took an extreme turn. This occurred when a rising group of insurgents, led by a radical group called the Jacobins, attacked the royal residence at the Tuileries Palace (History.com). They seized the king and his family on August 10,1792 during this raid. During the following month, Parisians revolutionaries murdered hundreds of accused counter revolutionaries, during a surge of violence. The newest addition to the resistance was an underground political center known as the Supreme Committee for the Liberation of Lithuania. In 1944 the new Lithuanian political power was able to negotiate with their German occupiers to create a militia type organization, known as the Home Guard. The stated objective of the Home Guard was to defend the homeland against the Red Army. Not long afterward, the Germans discovered the true purpose of the Home Guard, to establish a free and independent Lithuania after the defeat of the Nazis by the Allies. Upon discovering the true intentions the Nazis disbanded the Home Guard. Loveis a unique and complicated neurological emotion which is very difficult to understand. It is just like hunger and thirst, but just more permanent. Many of us talk about love as if we have no control over it, as if it is unconditional or blind, in the sense that we have no control over it. • 38. Homeric Seafaring Surveying the Validity of Homeric Seafaring Ancient Greeks predominantly lived in on island archipelagos or on the coast of nearby mainland because mainland Greece is one of Europe s most mountainous countries, which complicates animal and crop husbandry. Correspondingly, seafaring has always been paramount in the Aegean, especially for the Greeks, due to ease of transportation, trade networks, and defensive needs. Mainland Greeks utilized seafaring to bring in necessities cheaper than they could produce them at home, and they saved time traveling by land, rather than trek the long way through the mountains. When living on islands, sea travel is a necessity to contact outsiders and participate in extensive trade. Even Greeks in Homer s epics appear to know the sea well (Mark 2005, 145). Despite Greek seafaring s prominence, archeological and textual evidence for seafaring in the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age Aegean is relatively sparse, with a near lack of physical boat remains. Filling in holes, such as with literary sources, in the timeline of Aegean seafaring provides a greater understanding of the development of Greek ships, as well as the cultural implications of the technology invoked. However, despite finally accomplishing his goal of publishing his now infamous Inkblot Test, he died the following year. Rorschach s inkblots were created by hand and he experimented with forty inkblots to begin his research. However, he later revised it down to the ten we know today. Inkblots were a common phenomenon in Rorschach s childhood because there were numerous games and party tricks using inkblots. So it is not a surprise to find that Rorschach would use such a technique in his projective testing. Likewise, he and his father were artistic, which played a large role in Rorschach s creation of such stimuli. (Chapter 2) The Inkblot Test was later adopted by American psychologists by word of mouth due to there being no written translation of Psychodianostik in English until 1942. Klopfer was a research assistant from Berlin who was able to administer the Rorschach, so he taught Beck and his colleague Marguerite Hertz the administration of the test.
