Global warming is caused by increased levels of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere and cause the planet to warm over time. Some effects of global warming include rising sea levels, more severe wildfires, intensifying heat waves, and increased extreme weather events. To help address global warming, people can reduce fossil fuel usage and energy consumption, plant trees to absorb carbon dioxide, and decrease waste production.
