2. คนฝรั่งส่วนใหญ่จะเก่งในการอ่านแผนที่ ดังนั้นนักท่องเที่ยว
มักจะใช้แผนที่ในการเดินทาง จะเห็นได้ว่ามักจะมีฝรั่งถือแผนที่เดินมาหาเรา
เพื่อถามถึงจุดต่างๆที่เขาต้องการไป
Simple Direction ทิศทางที่ควรทราบ
Right
Left
Straight ahead
Turn right
Turn left

3. Direction ทิศทาง
intersection, crossroad = สี่แยก
traffic light = ไฟสัญญาณจราจร
T- junction = ทางแยก
Take the first right.
เลี้ยวขวาแยกแรก
Take the second (turn) on the left.
เลี้ยวซ้ายแยกที่สอง
Go straight ahead, go along the street.
ตรงไปข้างหน้า, ตรงไปตามถนน

4. Asking the way ประโยคที่ใช้ในการถามทิศทาง
• Excuse me, where’s the hotel?
• Excuse me, can you tell me the way to the library?
• Excuse me. How do I get to the bank from here?
• Which way is the museum?
• Do you know where is the post office ?

5. Giving direction การบอกทิศทาง
• Turn right / left at the corner.
• Turn right / left into Rama Road.
• Take the first turning right / left.
• Go up this street and turn right / left.
• Drive down Highway .
• Go east / west / north / south on Highway Road.
• Walk along the road to the traffic light.

6. Asking for clarification การถามเพื่อความแน่ใจ
• Up this street two blocks and turn left?
• So I go up the intersection and turn right.
• Do I take the first or the second street on the left?
• Is the bank on the right or on the left?
• So for the bank, I go down two blocks and turn left?

7. Useful expression ข้อความอื่นๆที่ควรใช้
• It’s not very far.
• It’s about ten minutes’ walk.
• It’s about two blocks.
• You can’t miss it.

8. Practice with your partner.
A: How can I get to the police station?
B: You keep walking along this street and then turn
right. You will see the Soi 15 .You go through that Soi and
then turn left, then walk about 2 blocks the police station
is opposite the book store.
A: Yes, along the street, turn right, go through Soi 15 and
then turn left , walk for 2 blocks. It is opposite the book
store.
B: That’s right.
A: Thank you very much.
B: You’re welcome.
