How Did Joe Louis Fight
The 1930s and 40s signified a major change in the boxing era, especially when it came to the rise of
an African American fighter by the name of Joe Louis. Not only was Joe able to make a name for
himself, he also brought pride to his own race along with the American people. The rise of Joe Louis
came about from the high unemployment rate in Detroit during the Great Depression, his
conformation to white cultural expectations, and the defeats of two opponents who represented foreign
powers.
The rise of African American fighter Joe Louis began in the city where he grew up, Detroit. The year
was 1932, and the unemployment rate in the city of Detroit for African Americans soared above 60
percent. Louis was like most blacks and did not hold a job ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did his proper handling lead to the title, it helped lead him to be a respected man in a racially
torn United States.
With World War II and the rise of the Axis powers quickly occurring in the background, Louis was
able to assure the American people that the United States could stand up to anyone. A key reasons for
Joe Louis s rise lied within the international political circumstances at the time. Louis was not just a
boxer making his way through the ranks; he was a man, leading the United States against Axis powers
like Italy and Germany.
In 1935, Joe Louis went up against Italian and former heavyweight champion Primo Carnera
(Considered a representative of Benito Mussolini). This was just the beginning of Louis s fights
against what would soon be known as the Axis powers (as cited by History.com, 2016). In 1936, Joe
Louis was set to face off against German boxer, Max Schmeling. His overconfidence led to his defeat
as Schmeling knocked him out in the 12th round (Kelly,

Limited Liability Corporation and Partnership Paper
Limited Liability Corporation and limited liability partnership are two of several types of structures
that individuals can give thought to forming when starting a business. To form a corporation each
member has limited liability, but the corporation has full liability. Forming a partnership requires at
least two people, which are called partners, and each partner has limited liability. This paper will
describe the roles of Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) and Limited Liability Partnership (LLP). In
addition, the paper will describe under what circumstance one would ... Show more content on

To form a corporation with limited liability, there are no restrictions on the number of members who
can be involved. One member can start the business and investors can become members after the
business has been established. With the guarantee that members potential loss is no more than what
was originally invested. In addition, if an individual decides to dissolve the affiliation, the transfer of
ownership is not difficult because the member only needs to sell his or her stock. However, the
disadvantages are not too severe that one would shy away from the thought of forming a small
business. The circumstance that one should use to form a limited liability partnership is the individual
must be a licensed professional, such as dentist, doctor, accountant, or lawyer. In addition the
formation must be between two or more individuals. Other factors to consider when making a choice
on which structure is better than the other, are financial protection as well as taxes. The number of
potential members or partners is another deciding factor on which structure is the best choice.
Conclusion LLCs and LLPs are business structures which are most often formed business entities.
Each structure has its advantages as well as disadvantages and potential business owners should weigh
the pros and cons of each before making a final decision. In an effort to make a sound financial

Tim Burton s Cinematic Style
Angles, and Lights Oh My!
Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory may seem like very different films. One
being about a man with metal blades for hands, the other about a man who owns a chocolate factory,
but in reality the films share many similarities when it comes to cinematic style, due to the fact Tim
Burton directed both. Tim Burton has an unique style, and the ways he shows this style is not only
through the stories he creates, but also the use of lighting, and camera angles he uses in his films.
Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory both have examples of lighting and
camera angles that create the same desired effect across both films and audiences.
Lighting can be broken down into categories, there is low key lighting, high key lighting and also mid
key lighting. In Edward Scissorhand and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, both use low key lighting
to create the mood of suspense, and intrigue. Low key lighting for this ... Show more content on

Messages Of Anti-Bolshevism During The Spanish Civil War
TITLE: The piece is titled Bolshevism Unmasked . It is a pamphlet and accompanying poster from a
major Anti Bolshevist exhibition that toured many major cities.
DATE: The exhibition occurred in 1937. 1937 was of particular significance for the NSDAP s Anti
Bolshevist movement as it was the height of the Spanish Civil War. Thus, messages of Anti
Bolshevism during the Spanish Civil War had widespread appeal because they were very topical.
Global anxieties surrounding the Spanish Civil War were exploited as a focal point of Nazi Anti
Bolshevist propaganda throughout the mid 1930s. This is clearly demonstrated throughout the
pamphlet, as exemplified in, ...Jewish Bolshevism calls to sub humanity in Spain to take up the
weapons of destruction against a peaceful people.
AUTHOR: The exhibit was created by the Anti Komintern, an agency established in 1933 by the
Propaganda Ministry. Prior to WWII, the Anit Komintern produced arguably the most relentless strain
of Nazi propaganda. It created a series of Anti Bolshevist campaigns in multiple mediums, including

William Blake s The Tyger
Jacob Lopez
Period: 2
English 4 The Tyger Analysis
It was said once that Who wants flowers when you re dead? Nobody. Many times our own
misconception can lead us to different perspectives and different point of views that cause a disunity
between our ways of thinking. However nothing can be further than the truth and staying true to
yourself. As for William Blake this is the exact concept efforted in his poem The Tyger as he
introduces the concept of life s creation and questioning the creator of it. Questioning the thesis of
why life is the way it is, William Blake uses Symbolism with the tyger which is still a mystery in the
poem however it is still symbolized as a creation by the creator.
In the beginning the first quatrain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore William is saying that how can the creator create something so viscous? He also goes on to
speak that on what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? There is symbolism in
here when William says on what wings? Because by this he automatically stating that the creator of
this creature is something greater than us, something out of this realm. We as humanity have always
portrayed angels and heavenly creatures to having wings and halos above their heads. Therefore
William gives away an allegory using symbolism which is a characteristic by creative writers. When
William says what the hand dare seize the fire, it is another example of the same meaning by saying
the hand must be great if it is to hold this fierce creature.
In the third and fourth quatrain, William talks about the same meaning using different symbols and
different allegories. He states in the third quatrain; And what shoulder, and what art, could twist the
sinews of thine heart? And when this heart began to beat, what dread hand and what dread feet? By
the first couplet William is using symbolism describing what art could twist sinews of thy heart?
Meaning what could have created

patrons in view of its international presence. In general, Sands satisfies the five dimensions of service
quality, especially Reliability and Tangibles . The nature of the gaming industry calls for the need to
provide a secure environment especially in the areas of reliability and tangibles . Managing cash
movements appropriately through the means of standard operating procedures can address the issue of
reliability ; on the other hand, ensuring surveillance are well maintained provides patrons with a sense
of security, fulfilling the tangibles of a gaming establishment ought to have.
Sand s international presence also requires its management to modify its control system in light of
differences in national cultures and regulations instructed by the government or its regulatory body.
For instance, Sands Singapore needs to adhere to additional control practices imposed by the Casino
Regulatory Authority (CRA) by imposing an entry levy of $100 to Singaporeans and Permanent
Residents.
Besides regulations, Sands should be concerned with profitability and employee satisfaction. The
group recommends training, empowerment and an internal hire policy as important factors when
addressing these two issues. Sands Singapore should ensure

Pharmacy At Rainer s Pharmacy
As a pharmacy technician at Rainer s Pharmacy, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. I have learned what types
of people visit a pharmacy. At the pharmacy, we deliver medication and groceries within two hours of
the pharmacy. The pharmacy is made up of three sections: retail, hospice, and the laboratory. I work in
the retail and hospice section; I have met the diabetic hero, the storytellers, and the narc eater. The
diabetic hero is the scariest. From in the pharmacy you can hear him pull into the parking lot;his car is
rusted from the back left wheel to the front right wheel. The car sounds like it has not been inspected
for years. It clanks and bangs and leaves a trail of smoke behind it. He puts the car in park then comes

There is two types within the pharmacy:the retail and the hospice. The retail narc eater are mean and
usually have an egotistic attitude. She always has a scowl on her face. Her look is distinct she has on
dirty sweatpants and a t shirt with holes in the armpit or around the neck. She comes in screaming you
shorted me pills, where the fuck is the rest of my medicine That is very unlikely, because each c2 and
c3 narcotics get placed in a bubble sheet with the set amount of pills counted out for the dosage. If she
is not complaining about not having enough medicine, she wants to fill the prescription too early and
she doesn t understand why the pharmacy can not fill it. Her insurance will not cover it unless she
follows the correct dosage. She tries to pay for the prescription without insurance but the price can be
a few hundred and she responds with, you can shove the money up your ass. The hospice narc eaters
are worse than the retail. These patients are terminally ill and they still want to get that high or they
want to sell their narcotics. For example, patient Sara Lee gets daily narcotics with only one day s
worth, because her children will take her medicine and sell it. This causes that no one else can sign the
manifest saying that the patient received the medication. This can only help so much. The pharmacy
gets multiple calls saying that patient s children is selling the medication right off the front porch.

middle of the war. He seems to be a man in love, or more like a man in love with the idea of a lady

Oedipus By William Shakespeare s Oedipus
1. (Question 1) The situation in Thebes is that they have a plague. Oedipus wants to discover the
murderer of Laius in order to end the suffering of his people.
2. (Question 2) Oedipus is a man of action, but he is also a man of temper. Oedipus bullies Tiresias
into answering him. It is at this point that Tiresias reveals that Oedipus has killed the previous king,
Laius. A pattern emerges regarding Oedipus behavior. He has a temper, but is also used to having his
way. At one point Oedipus becomes extremely angry and accuses Tiresias of acting in collusion with
his brother in law, Creon, to take the throne from Oedipus.
3. (Question 3) Oedipus doesn t accept the story because he has already accused Tiresias of being
personally disloyal, stubborn, unpatriotic, and disrespectful to Thebes and that he is partly responsible
for the death of Laius. Tiresias has several times accused Oedipus of having an uncontrollable temper.
This temper may help explain why Oedipus rejects Tiresias s revelations about Oedipus himself.
4. (Question 6) Oedipus begins to think that he is the murderer when he learns the location of the
crime scene. Tiresias tells Oedipus that he is the murderer, the cause of all the suffering in Thebes.
Tiresias half explains that Oedipus has done more evil than he can even imagine. Jocasta then tells
him a story to show that the gods will reveal what prophets and seers sometimes do not. She believes

Futurism Essay
FUTURISM
Futurism (lat. Futurus = future) was a movement in literature, visual art, fashion, architecture, theatre,

Futurism appeared as a fervent denouncer of the past. Italian art represented the past Ancient,
Renaissance and Baroque art and culture. In the early 1900s, Italian artists and writers believed that
the Machine Age could have changed the situation and develop into a new awareness. F. Marinetti
called the new movement futurism to apprehend the idea of modernity, to glorify speed, technological

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Just In Time Inventory...
Nissan has adopted many different process practices to assist their daily manufacturing functions. Just
in time (JIT), Toyota Production System (TPS), and Lean are three theory concepts the firm has
implemented to ensure the company stays on track in order to meet their goals.
Just in time inventory management is a cost cutting inventory management strategy that results to
stock outs. It originally referred to the production of goods to meet customer demand exactly, in time,
quality and quantity, whether the `customer is the final purchaser of the product or another process
further along the production line. Nissan benefited from this operation strategy, the method ensured
there wouldn t be an excess amount of inventory isn t sitting in the warehouse. When properly adapted
JIT manufacturing has the capacity to strengthen Nissan s competitiveness in the marketplace
substantially by reducing wastes and improving product quality and efficiency of production. Despite
the preceding advantages, there are a number of disadvantages associated with just in time inventory
which could significantly impact the business. A supplier that does not deliver goods to the company
exactly on time and in the correct amounts could seriously impact the production process. JIT means
that you become extremely reliant on the consistency of your supply chain
Toyota Production System (TPS) on the other hand shifts their focus primarily towards employee
empowerment engaging team members to optimize quality by constantly improving processes and
eliminating unnecessary waste in all resources. Its main focus is to provide best quality, lowest cost,
and shortest lead time through the elimination of waste. A drawback to this system is the high cost and
the level of complexity to implement the method.
The three practices work in conjunction with one another in order to optimize improvement in all
products and services. The development of TPS was a major precursor of Lean manufacturing. Lean
like TPS and JIT focuses on continuous improvement. The main difference is lean is customer
focused, if it does not add value to the customer it is not added (Heizer Render, 2014). By
implementing Lean Nissan can provide their customer what they want

Approximation Rule In Court Cases
When a custodial decision cannot be reached by a couple and is turned to a court to determine, a task
is given to the court to ensure that the best decision is made in the interest of the child. A court reaches
this by various methods of standard tests and evaluations that produce unpredictable results (Dolan
Hynan, 2014). There has been a recent suggestion by the American Law Institute called the
Approximation Rule . Under this proposal, recently divorced parents share of time within their
custody should be allocated to approximate the proportion of time each parent spends with the child
on a detailed list of childcare tasks prior to their divorce (Dolan Hynan, 2014). This assessment is
geared towards awarding custody rights to the parent

Becoming A Student Advisor
This past week, I have been going through a very helpful and insightful training to become a Student
Advisor, also known as a college RA. The training has consisted of myriad activities, presentations,
workshops, and discussions. One of the discussions we had was on the topic of what defines a leader.
So we sat in a group and gave characteristics of what we thought was a leader and what we think the
ideal leader should be. After thirty minutes or so of discussing, we came up with at least a full page of
characteristics we thought a leader should encompass. They included traits like helping others grow,
setting an example for others, and everything in between. But in my opinion, we weren t describing a

Little Brother
Being the first true group of digital natives, it is no surprise that the children of Generation Z tend to
take in information instantaneously and lose interest just as quickly, especially when it comes to
learning in the classroom. Perhaps this is because few classrooms utilize any of the 21st century
technologies that are often needed to maintain students interest, and for good reasons too. In many
works of science fiction, technology is portrayed as inherently evil, and readers are often told stories
of the the potential uses of technology that range from bizarre to troublesome, to downright
horrendous. However, with so many new learning technologies being created and made available to
the public, such as the 3D printer, touch board electronic desks, virtual reality gear, and the entirely
virtual classroom, which is still under development, students are soon going to see a change in not
only the way they learn, but also in the physical look of their classrooms.

The Economic And Trade Globalization
With the development of science and technology as well as transportation, economic and trade
globalization in gradually, most companies are not satisfied with the domestic market, and began to
open up markets in other countries, which is the origin of multinational enterprises. However, since
the environment of the market is different from the host country, such as natural conditions, socio
cultural, or customer needs, which is particularly difficult to deal with the situation when to enter the
market of a country, it will need to face the corresponding political risk. Political risk is a type of
foreign exchange risk, thence, a prerequisite of political risk and foreign exchange risk of the
occurrence of a prerequisite is the same, namely businesses or investors must hold foreign direct
investment (Foreign Direct Investment), otherwise, there would not be political risks (Jensen, 2003).
Therefore, for multinational enterprises, the economic benefit was on the most important position, and
even beyond the political relations such as social system, human ideology, or challenge the traditional,
however, for the country to say that in terms of national security goals happen with the economic
interests if they have conflicting objective, the state will first meet the security objective, it would be
more stressful for multinational enterprises in political risk.

Examples Of Stream Of Consciousness
Narrative technique. Use of the stream of consciousness
Stream of consciousness is a narrative technique which, using words, describes the flow of thoughts
within the characters minds. This term was at first coined by psychologist William James in his work
The Principles of Psychology . With regard to the stream of consciousness, he stated that ...it is
nothing joined; it flows. A river or a stream is the metaphor by which it is most naturally described. In
talking of it hereafter, let s call it the stream of thought, consciousness, or subjective life.

Advantages Of Political Dynasty In The Philippines
An Argumentative Essay About a Phillipine or Local Issue
Topic: Political Dynasty
Despite not being an economically rich state, Philippines is known for having people who deeply
value their family members. Family oriented Filipinos give importance to even to their most distant
relatives as long as they have the same blood running through their veins. In this practice also,
Filipinos tend to seek advices from the elders of the family before making a huge decision. Thus,
decisions are made not by one for himself but by a group for the entirety of the family. (Agoncillo,
2012, p.6)

This statement did not just come from us but from the research and survey we have conducted.
Political dynasty has already been long present in the political structure of the Philippines. It can be
manifested when a family member runs, and most often than not, wins the election and his position is
soon succeeded by one of his family members as well. This cycle goes on and on and the scope of the
family s territory becomes wider and wider every election for the members can run on different places.
This is often practiced by rich and influential families; families who have been political since their
forefathers and have followed the tradition as well.
Political dynasties started to emerge just after the Philippine Revolution happened. It was also when
the First Republic of the Philippines was established. The Philippine Revolution was the fight between
the people of the Philippines and the Spanish colonizers. According to the book The Making of a

1. A) Part of the wave might penetrate it or it might not. This would be random and would depend on
the energy of the electron attempting to penetrate.
B) The pattern that initially seemed random would begin to acquire uniformity. Half of the electrons
would transmit and half would reflect and go back. Each of the electrons that transmitted would carry
its complete charge and mass.
C) One cannot say where the electron really is, whether a given electron will transmit or reflect. It is
only possible to state the probability of electrons actions. For example, one may say that the
probability is one in five that the electron will transmit and four out of five that it will be reflected
back.
D) Some physicists find the result difficult to accept because they perceive it as what Einstein called

My Psychology Course And Remembered About The Cerebral...
I decided to write my literature after going through one of the textbooks in my physiological
psychology course and remembered about the cerebral hemispheres, which receives sensory
information from opposite sides of the body. This got interested in the topic of cerebral hemispheres
and sensory information after a split brain operation. The split brain procedure is a surgical operation
that s used for people that have severe epilepsy that can t be controlled by the drugs they take. In the
brains of people with severe epilepsy, the nerve cells on one side of the brain are overactive and the
overactivity is relayed to the other side by the corpus callosum, a bundle of nerve cells that connect
certain parts of one side of the brain to the other. The corpus callosum enables the left and right side of
the brain to share information so that both sides knows what the other is doing and perceiving. Both
sides of the brain engage in out of control activity that stimulate each other, causing stereotypical
seizures that recur throughout the day preventing the person from living a normal life. Neurosurgeons
have discovered that severing the corpus callosum greatly reduces the often recurring seizures.
After the brain split procedure, the brain is divided into two hemispheres that work independently of
each other. Their sensory mechanisms, and motor systems no longer relay information. To the casual
observer they disconnection isn t obvious for the elementary reason that one hemisphere

Turbo Code is Formed from the Parallel Concatenation of...
The first turbo code, based on convolutional encoding, was introduced in 1993 by Berrou etal. Since
then, several schemes have been proposed and the term turbo codes has been generalized to cover
block codes as well as convolutional codes. Simply put, a turbo code is formed from the parallel
concatenation of two codes separated by an interleaver. The turbo principle is a general way of
processing data in receivers so that no information is wasted. This technique corresponds to an
iterative exchange of soft information between different blocks in a communications receiver in order
to improve overall system performance. It has opened up a new way of thinking in the construction of
communication algorithms. This method was introduced in a system of error control for data
transmission, called turbo code. This family of Forward Error Codes (FEC) consists of two key design
innovations: concatenated encoding and iterative decoding.
The turbo principle has been extended into new receiver topologies such as turbo detection, turbo
equalization, turbo coded modulation, turbo MIMO, etc. In the case of transmission systems with
interference, such an iterative receiver, known as turbo equalizer or turbo detector achieves significant
gains in BER performance, compared with a non iterative scheme. However, the design of high
throughput, low complexity and low latency architectures for a receiver that contains an iterative
process is a great challenge.

I Am A Good Adult
I Remember
It took me years to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up. Honestly, I still don t know and
don t ever plan to. Mostly because I cannot imagine becoming a true adult. I d have to do adult things
like returning a sweater I didn t like or gardening. Gardening: to spend hours upon hours toiling in
fields for plants that won t live to see spring! Or worse imagine me cooking, forbid it that I should
ever enjoy cooking! Half the time I mess up boiling water and make macaroni only from a microwave.
I m still afraid of librarians and speaking to strangers. I intend to use Mickey Mouse band aids, color
with crayons and eat Lucky Charms until the day I m cold in my grave. I could never be a good adult.
Thus, it s easy to see how when I was younger I had no idea what I wanted to be. I just knew I wanted
to be good at something and be helpful to people. I hoped the person would know I had invested time
to make their life easier. It never mattered if they remembered my name or my face, just more that I
had cared about them. Yet, I was afraid. I didn t think I had the courage, the ability, to be exceptional
at an occupation. Certainly never enough for it to warrant a novel. Actually I still think that, but here

Relationships Between Friendliness And Hostility And...
Abstract
In this study, we looked at the relationships between friendliness and hostility and agreeableness in
college students. We hypothesized that students who were high in friendliness would also be high in
agreeableness, while being low in hostility. We expected a strong correlation with agreeableness, and a
slightly strong correlation with hostility. However, when looking at all three traits we found that
agreeableness, while being the big umbrella it is, might not fully account for traits underneath it. As
well as friendliness and hostility having a stronger negative correlation than we anticipated.
Keywords: Friendliness, Hostility, Agreeableness, Personality
Friendliness in College age Students In this study we aimed to look at the personality trait of
friendliness. Friendliness can be defined as the good nature, amiability of one s personality. In other
words: how agreeable and outgoing one is towards others. Friendliness has been found to be more
prevalent in females than males (Moskowitz, 1993), and has been found to be generalized across
situations. In this research we want to look at college students to see if there is any significance
between friendliness and aggressiveness. To do this we have created our own friendliness scale and
compared it to the Iowa State Hostility Scale (Dill, Anderson, Anderson, Deuser, 1997) and the
agreeableness items from the Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) (Gosling, Augustine, Vazire,
Holtzman, Gaddis, 2011).

Dylan Thomas Under Milk Wood Essay
Dylan Thomas Under Milk Wood deals with the simplicity of life, stressing the importance of each

suggesting where his sympathies lie; with those characters who rejoice in the love and the little

Mog Edwards and Miss Myfanwy Price have an eccentric relationship which, despite being from a

feel, whether or not it is for each other or for the idea of such a relationship, is an integral part to their

treats the two characters with satire, Mog Edwards being more taken with economical ideas of

hence perhaps the ease of the relationship which appeals to the couple the most; love, at a distance, is
all they need to be happy, and the fact that they rejoice in such a relationship is not as humorous an
idea as it is satisfying to know that such happy and eternal love is made the most of to the furthest

The Effect Of Myotonic Dystrophy Kinase Related Cdc42...
Introduction/Background: Cell motility is heavily studied, mainly due to the importance of cell
motility in a living cell for normal physiological functions. 3 Phosphoinositide dependent kinase 1
(PDK1) is integral kinase that phosphorylates serine/threonine residues in activation loops of various
proteins that function in metabolism, grown, proliferation, and survival of various cells (Fyffe et al.,
2013). Located on the human chromosome 16p13.3, it is ubiquitously expressed in human tissue, as
well as other animals such as Drosophilla (Alessi et al., 1997). But PDK1 functionality is beyond just
normal human cells, and has been heavily studied in directional cell migration for both physiological
and pathological processes such as wound healing and tumor metastasis (Gagliardi et al., 2014).
Myotonic dystrophy kinase related CDC42 binding kinase α (MRCKα) is a Rho binding kinase that
has been shown to cause actin cytoskeleton reorganization for cell motility through light chain
phosphorylation, which is required in cell motility (Chen et al., 1999). MRCK kinases play integral
roles in actin myosin regulations by being downstream effectors of GTPase CDC42. Activation of
GTPase CDC42 and actin cytoskeleton reorganizations are both vital in cell motility, as the conversion
of GTP to GDP provide actin filament degradation, which in turn allows for the formation of new
filaments needed for movement of the cell.
The authors of this paper attempt to deduce which domains of PDK1

The Concept of Personal Identity
Personal Identity in philosophy refers to a person s self perception, ones belief about who they are and
how they differ form others. Locke and Hume both share their ideas about Personal identity and
although they might both drastically differ they are still both puzzling. Locke s theory on personal
identity has to do with what make a person the same person over time, and to Locke remaining the
same person doesn t necessarily mean remaining the same physically. For, since consciousness always
accompanies thinking, and it is that which makes every one to be what he calls self, and thereby
distinguishes himself from all other thinking things, in this alone consists personal identity (53). He
believes that personal identity and consciousness go hand in hand, he thinks personal identity is
conceived through ones awareness of current thoughts and actions. You are who you are because of
your thoughts and memories. Locke believes that the only accommodation that should be encountered
in order for a person to still have their identity is the awareness of past experiences. They must be able
to remember there past experiences in order for them to preserve their identity. Locke discusses the
possibility of two forms having the same consciousness. He claims that these two forms, because they
have the same memories, experiences, and consciousness must be the same person. Locke s is trying
to tell us that a person can indeed inhabit two different men. An objection to Locke s view

The sequences of events regarding accident causation are explained in a one dimension by both
models of Heinrich and Bird (Kjellen, 1987, HSC, 1983). Reason (1990) introduced by the end of the
1980s the causality of accidents in numerous formats. He saw the involvement and active participation
by the management on top as a key ingredient in the avoidance of interaction of active and latent
failures in the causation of accidents. Causes of accidents are easily identified from active failures.
Whereas instances of poor design, lack of training and gaps in supervision that are inherently latent
failures in organisations are usually present for many years in the system but tend to be hidden and
hard to detect. Investigation of a complex accident needs a comprehensive combination of methods to
be used as the areas of application have deficiencies and different qualities. There are many
underlying factors at work that lead to accidents usually neglected because at times they are minor but
only come to light when they result into serious damage to health and/or death. All accidents at work

Swing Band History
Swing can be traced back to a style called Dixieland jazz which was created by African American
musicians in the later 1920 s in New Orleans. It became the most popular and a successful kind of
music during the 1930 s, being played by band leaders such as Duke Ellington, Jimmie Lunceford,
Bennie Moten, Cab Calloway and Fletcher Henderson.
The instruments found in a swing band are very similar to the instruments found in a jazz band. Both
contain a brass section that have trumpet and trombone, a rhythm section with bass, piano and drums
and a wind section with saxophone and clarinet. But the swing band very occasionally used the string
section unlike jazz bands. Swing music is played with a medium tempo. A unique characteristic of
swing is that the drums are the only fully rhythmical instrument.
Fundamentally swing is orchestral and largely influenced by European music. It is also widely
recognised for having contributed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was seen as morally and socially unacceptable. Because it has roots in African American culture, the
white majority dismissed it as its improvisation, racy lyrics, lack of strings and fast tempo were
deemed as cultural degradation. But this changed when the musician Benny Goodman; a well known
and well liked white bandleader adopted the style and playing it in the Palomar Ballroom in 1935.
After this it became quickly popular among the younger patrons and became the hot style of music all
over the country.
After this from 1935 1946 became known as the swing era as swing became extremely popular in
America. With a wider acceptance of swing music, large mainstream bands began to incorporate the
style into their repertoires. Musicians required more detailed and organised compositions and notation.
Because of this bandleaders had to spend more time on their arrangements to avoid the chaos of
multiple musicians improvising at

carnapping dahil wala kayong karapatang kunin ang tricycle sa amin . She was not even present at the
carnapping incident and merely relied on the communication to her by Parlade in the morning. With
the foregoing, Aguirre could not solely base the accusation by mere suppositions and presumptions in
order to incriminate Takad.
II. CREDIBILITY OF THE EYEWITNESSES
First. Zenny, on her testimony, stated that she knew of the incident when Parlade told her about it at
7:00 in the morning while Parlade alledged that after he ran to chase the tricycle which was then
driven by the carnapper and he failed to catch up with it, he and Zenny looked for the tricycle the
whole night.
Second. The tricycle was stolen in the early morning of November 21, and Parlade gave his statement
to the police in the afternoon of the same day as supported by his affidavit which was timed 1:30pm.
Third. Parlade said he was 5 meters away and so somewhat near from the tricycle when it was stolen
which was against his sworn statement wherein he stated medyo malayo . And when he shouted, the
carnapper looked back but suddenly started the motor. From that Parlade said he recognized the
carnapper whose purpose was to flee and so merely glanced back. This was incoherent with his
testimony in the witness stand that the man looked backed at him in the terms medyo matagal po .

Weinstein Feminist Theory
Men are considered to be the dominant gender in basically every industry. This heavily applies to the
Hollywood film industry, where most films are directed, produced and/or written by men. With this, it
s no doubt that these men have a sense of power over everything, since they are in charge.
Unfortunately, some men take this power a little too far. Over the years, various male celebrities have
been accused of sexual abuse and harassment towards their female co stars, assistants etc. The most
recent example of this is the various allegations against one of the biggest film producer in
Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein. Since the allegations have come out, a bunch of female celebrities
have lent their support towards the victims of Weinstein and some even shared their own experiences
with the disgraced producer. However, not many male celebrities have come out to condemn
Weinstein s actions. In fact, The Guardian, a British news agency released an article stating that they
asked over 20 male celebrities who worked closely with the producer, and none of them returned their
calls at the time (Wong and Levin,2017). To explain the event and why Weinstein and these male
celebrities acted the way they did in this situation, I decided to use the classical theory Conflict Theory
and the contemporary theory Feminist Theory. After looking at both theories, I have decided that
Conflict Theory is the best way to explain this situation due to the power status Weinstein and the men
have

  • 17. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Just In Time Inventory... Nissan has adopted many different process practices to assist their daily manufacturing functions. Just in time (JIT), Toyota Production System (TPS), and Lean are three theory concepts the firm has implemented to ensure the company stays on track in order to meet their goals. Just in time inventory management is a cost cutting inventory management strategy that results to stock outs. It originally referred to the production of goods to meet customer demand exactly, in time, quality and quantity, whether the `customer is the final purchaser of the product or another process further along the production line. Nissan benefited from this operation strategy, the method ensured there wouldn t be an excess amount of inventory isn t sitting in the warehouse. When properly adapted JIT manufacturing has the capacity to strengthen Nissan s competitiveness in the marketplace substantially by reducing wastes and improving product quality and efficiency of production. Despite the preceding advantages, there are a number of disadvantages associated with just in time inventory which could significantly impact the business. A supplier that does not deliver goods to the company exactly on time and in the correct amounts could seriously impact the production process. JIT means that you become extremely reliant on the consistency of your supply chain Toyota Production System (TPS) on the other hand shifts their focus primarily towards employee empowerment engaging team members to optimize quality by constantly improving processes and eliminating unnecessary waste in all resources. Its main focus is to provide best quality, lowest cost, and shortest lead time through the elimination of waste. A drawback to this system is the high cost and the level of complexity to implement the method. The three practices work in conjunction with one another in order to optimize improvement in all products and services. The development of TPS was a major precursor of Lean manufacturing. Little Brother Being the first true group of digital natives, it is no surprise that the children of Generation Z tend to take in information instantaneously and lose interest just as quickly, especially when it comes to learning in the classroom. Perhaps this is because few classrooms utilize any of the 21st century technologies that are often needed to maintain students interest, and for good reasons too. In many works of science fiction, technology is portrayed as inherently evil, and readers are often told stories of the the potential uses of technology that range from bizarre to troublesome, to downright horrendous. Family oriented Filipinos give importance to even to their most distant relatives as long as they have the same blood running through their veins. In this practice also, Filipinos tend to seek advices from the elders of the family before making a huge decision. Thus, decisions are made not by one for himself but by a group for the entirety of the family. (Agoncillo, 2012, p.6) There is the saying that goes blood is thicker than water. This cycle goes on and on and the scope of the family s territory becomes wider and wider every election for the members can run on different places. This is often practiced by rich and influential families; families who have been political since their forefathers and have followed the tradition as well. Each of the electrons that transmitted would carry its complete charge and mass. C) One cannot say where the electron really is, whether a given electron will transmit or reflect. • 29. My Psychology Course And Remembered About The Cerebral... I decided to write my literature after going through one of the textbooks in my physiological psychology course and remembered about the cerebral hemispheres, which receives sensory information from opposite sides of the body. This got interested in the topic of cerebral hemispheres and sensory information after a split brain operation. The split brain procedure is a surgical operation that s used for people that have severe epilepsy that can t be controlled by the drugs they take. In the brains of people with severe epilepsy, the nerve cells on one side of the brain are overactive and the overactivity is relayed to the other side by the corpus callosum, a bundle of nerve cells that connect certain parts of one side of the brain to the other. The corpus callosum enables the left and right side of the brain to share information so that both sides knows what the other is doing and perceiving. Both sides of the brain engage in out of control activity that stimulate each other, causing stereotypical seizures that recur throughout the day preventing the person from living a normal life. Neurosurgeons have discovered that severing the corpus callosum greatly reduces the often recurring seizures. After the brain split procedure, the brain is divided into two hemispheres that work independently of each other. Their sensory mechanisms, and motor systems no longer relay information. Since then, several schemes have been proposed and the term turbo codes has been generalized to cover block codes as well as convolutional codes. Simply put, a turbo code is formed from the parallel concatenation of two codes separated by an interleaver. The turbo principle is a general way of processing data in receivers so that no information is wasted. This technique corresponds to an iterative exchange of soft information between different blocks in a communications receiver in order to improve overall system performance. It has opened up a new way of thinking in the construction of communication algorithms. This method was introduced in a system of error control for data transmission, called turbo code. This family of Forward Error Codes (FEC) consists of two key design innovations: concatenated encoding and iterative decoding. The turbo principle has been extended into new receiver topologies such as turbo detection, turbo equalization, turbo coded modulation, turbo MIMO, etc. In the case of transmission systems with interference, such an iterative receiver, known as turbo equalizer or turbo detector achieves significant gains in BER performance, compared with a non iterative scheme. However, the design of high throughput, low complexity and low latency architectures for a receiver that contains an iterative process is a great challenge. The Orthogonal Frequency Division ... We hypothesized that students who were high in friendliness would also be high in agreeableness, while being low in hostility. We expected a strong correlation with agreeableness, and a slightly strong correlation with hostility. However, when looking at all three traits we found that agreeableness, while being the big umbrella it is, might not fully account for traits underneath it. As well as friendliness and hostility having a stronger negative correlation than we anticipated. Keywords: Friendliness, Hostility, Agreeableness, Personality Friendliness in College age Students In this study we aimed to look at the personality trait of friendliness. Friendliness can be defined as the good nature, amiability of one s personality. In other words: how agreeable and outgoing one is towards others. Friendliness has been found to be more prevalent in females than males (Moskowitz, 1993), and has been found to be generalized across situations. In this research we want to look at college students to see if there is any significance between friendliness and aggressiveness. To do this we have created our own friendliness scale and compared it to the Iowa State Hostility Scale (Dill, Anderson, Anderson, Deuser, 1997) and the agreeableness items from the Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) (Gosling, Augustine, Vazire, Holtzman, Gaddis, 2011). ... • 37. The Effect Of Myotonic Dystrophy Kinase Related Cdc42... Introduction/Background: Cell motility is heavily studied, mainly due to the importance of cell motility in a living cell for normal physiological functions. 3 Phosphoinositide dependent kinase 1 (PDK1) is integral kinase that phosphorylates serine/threonine residues in activation loops of various proteins that function in metabolism, grown, proliferation, and survival of various cells (Fyffe et al., 2013). Located on the human chromosome 16p13.3, it is ubiquitously expressed in human tissue, as well as other animals such as Drosophilla (Alessi et al., 1997). But PDK1 functionality is beyond just normal human cells, and has been heavily studied in directional cell migration for both physiological and pathological processes such as wound healing and tumor metastasis (Gagliardi et al., 2014). Myotonic dystrophy kinase related CDC42 binding kinase α (MRCKα) is a Rho binding kinase that has been shown to cause actin cytoskeleton reorganization for cell motility through light chain phosphorylation, which is required in cell motility (Chen et al., 1999). MRCK kinases play integral roles in actin myosin regulations by being downstream effectors of GTPase CDC42. Activation of GTPase CDC42 and actin cytoskeleton reorganizations are both vital in cell motility, as the conversion of GTP to GDP provide actin filament degradation, which in turn allows for the formation of new filaments needed for movement of the cell. • 38. The Concept of Personal Identity Personal Identity in philosophy refers to a person s self perception, ones belief about who they are and how they differ form others. Locke and Hume both share their ideas about Personal identity and although they might both drastically differ they are still both puzzling. Locke s theory on personal identity has to do with what make a person the same person over time, and to Locke remaining the same person doesn t necessarily mean remaining the same physically. For, since consciousness always accompanies thinking, and it is that which makes every one to be what he calls self, and thereby distinguishes himself from all other thinking things, in this alone consists personal identity (53). He believes that personal identity and consciousness go hand in hand, he thinks personal identity is conceived through ones awareness of current thoughts and actions. You are who you are because of your thoughts and memories. Locke believes that the only accommodation that should be encountered in order for a person to still have their identity is the awareness of past experiences. They must be able to remember there past experiences in order for them to preserve their identity. Locke discusses the possibility of two forms having the same consciousness. He claims that these two forms, because they have the same memories, experiences, and consciousness must be the same person.
