  6. Gonna suggest a change here I think this one I start with this: “What are you passionate about? That’s gotten to be an almost annoying often asked question. But if you listen to the responses you’ll find that most people start their answer with ‘I’m passionate about helping…’” We feel most alive when we feel like we’re helping, when we feel like we have impact, when we feel like we’re – dare I say it – changing the world for the better. I think of this as the master rut – because feeling like you are making a positive difference can make up for a lot of those other ruts, and even when everything else seems perfect feeling like what you do is pointless can still keep you mired in a rut.” Then you can take over and talk about why it’s important to recognize what is CAUSING that feeling of being in a rut. Maybe a personal story from our work or whatever you think works here. The KEY is that there is an emotional high note right here.
  7. Then you lead right into this as a technique for recognize the REAL reason you’re in a rut. This is a great example to use for how that sequence of “because why” will eventually lead to the light bulb of “OH this is what I have to do to get out of this rut.
  8. Dixie walk them through the process of creating a “future” journal entry and how to use that entry to fine tune the vision. If that were true would I be in my groove?
  9. Tricks for getting into beginner’s mind “But what if …” Give examples – what if I had never done that before, how would I try to do it? What if that isn’t true, what could be true instead? What if I’d never heard of anyone failing at that before, would I try to succeed? Physically doing something new – new dance, new sport, new, art, new place, even just using your non-dominant hand. Meeting people who have a totally different background/mindset
  10. How many DIFFERENT stories can you tell yourself? What would YOU do differently if one of those stories were true? Is the story you’ve been telling yourself true? Maybe. Is it more likely to be true than all the other stories? Maybe. But you know … no one else is going to have the imagination to change your story. So yes, I do mean you.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for or meet the person you want to meet then make a list of all the things that are SIMILAR to what you’re looking for or all the people who might KNOW the person you want to meet or other people who might help you in the same way that person would.
