KASUTATAKSE:
1)Eessõna järel:
I’m interested in dancing.
You are keen on studying French.
He was fed up with going to school.
We were afraid of swimming.
2) Teatud tegusõnade järel: (vaata wb p 114)
Avoid, enjoy, carry on, finish, mind, feel
like, fancy, give up, take up, go on, keen on,
love, like, hate, begin, start, go, come
I avoid going out late.
She loves travelling.
I don’t feel like dancing.
I have finished eating.
3) teatud väljendite järel
• Be worth. Tartu is worth visiting
• Look forward to. I’m looking forward to
seeing him
• Be (no) fun. It’s fun going on holiday.
• Can’t stand.
• Can’t help.
To infinitive- tegusõna to algvorm
• Pärast verbi. I tried to call you.
• Pärast nimisõna. It’s time to go now.
• Pärast omadussõna. It wasn’t easy to help
you.
• Eesmärgi väljendamiseks. I came here to help
you.
• Eitav vorm: He promised not to tell you.
The infinitive without to.
Kasutatakse peale väljendeid:
• Let- laskma, lubama. Let me help you.
• Make- panna keegi tegema. They made me
feel happy.
• Had better- oleks parem. They had better
stop now.
