All About MeMy backgroundI grew up in MelvindaleI attended Melvindale High, and attended MSU (2yrs), U of M-Dearborn and Wayne State UniversityU of M-DearbornBachelors of Science degree in: Computer Engineering and Electrical EngineeringMaster’s Degree in Secondary Education in math and computer scienceSpecialist Degree in Math Curriculum and InstructionSoon to be pursuing Doctorate degree at U of M-DearbornI’ve been teaching for 6 years.I have also Algebra 2, Algebra 2 CA and Computer Apps but Geometry is my favorite.

Class RulesOur classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other.Our class rules are:Be respectful and responsible.Be organized and follow directions.Be on time.Be prepared.
Absences & TardinessIf you aren’t in the classroom by the time the bell rings, please check in at the school office before coming to class.If you are tardy four times, your parents will be contactedIf you are absent then your assignment is due the day you come back.If you are absent for a test then you will take the test the day you return!If you are absent for an extended period of time then your will get as many days as you were absent to complete the assignments and assessments.

This fully interactive site and allows the user to sharpen basic math skills, play games and explore new math concepts. www.figurethis.org. Created by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, this site helps families enjoy mathematics outside school through a series of fun and engaging challenges. www.mathcats.com. Math Cats provides playful explorations of important math concepts through games, crafts and interactive projects. Includes a magic chalkboard and an art gallery. www.easymaths.org. This South African Community website for teachers, parents and students is complete with lessons, tests, exams, worksheets, study skills and much more.Help is available

Notes will be taken nearly every day.You will need to copy the notes from the overhead.Use these notes to assist you with your homework.Notes quizzes will be giving once every chapter.You will need all your notes organized and with you in order to complete this quiz.  You are NOT allowed to use your book or another students notes.  If you are found doing so you and the person whose notes you have will receive a zero.  If you don’t have your notes with you, you will have to come after school to make up the notes quiz.Notes
HomeworkI will assign about 45 minutes of homework every night. Show work and Circle/Highlight answerPut name, date and hour in upper right hand corner of paper.No Name, No credit!Your homework assignment is due the following class.If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the  class calendar for missed homework, download worksheets, view notes and videos to get caught up.If you need extra help with your homework, you can go to after school tutoring with NHS everyday after school except on Tuesdays.   Be sure to sign in because I will be keeping a record of the students that attend tutoring. You will grade your paper with a red pen and only a red pen.  You will need to correct your answers and fill in any work on problems that you skipped.  10 points all work shown on ALL problems and work is  60% or better correct.8 points for all work shown on ALL problems but assignment is less than 60% correct.1 point will be given for late work
