This course will be held online from June 18 to August 8. Students must have regular access to a computer and the internet to complete assignments, as cell phones will not be sufficient. Assignments will be made available every 3-4 days in advance and must be completed daily. Late, incomplete, or inaccurate work may result in a lower grade. No assignments will be due on Sundays. Students must sign up for the online textbook by Wednesday. Canvas will be used to access modules, assignments, and track grades. A teacher-made final exam will account for 25% of the final grade. Major assignments are 60% of the grade and minor assignments are 40%. Mr. Hill can be contacted by email and will respond within 24

However, there are certain situations where courts may decide to "pierce" or "lift" the corporate veil, holding shareholders or members personally liable for the debts or actions of the corporation.
Here are some common scenarios in which courts might lift the corporate veil:
Fraud or Illegality: If shareholders or members use the corporate structure to perpetrate fraud, evade legal obligations, or engage in illegal activities, courts may disregard the corporate entity and hold those individuals personally liable.
Undercapitalization: If a corporation is formed with insufficient capital to conduct its intended business and meet its foreseeable liabilities, and this lack of capitalization results in harm to creditors or other parties, courts may lift the corporate veil to hold shareholders or members liable.
Failure to Observe Corporate Formalities: Corporations and LLCs are required to observe certain formalities, such as holding regular meetings, maintaining separate financial records, and avoiding commingling of personal and corporate assets. - 9. Canvas is the name of our LMS: Learning Management System that we will use. It is easy to use. It is very linear ALWAYS use the MODULES tab
- 13. Question Can I complete this course without an internet connection and a computer? ANSWER: • No. • You MUST have access to the internet and a computer.
- 14. Question Should I rely on use of a cell phone to complete this course? ANSWER: Absolutely NOT. While you may be able to do some of the assignments, you will not be successful on most, which will lead to failure.
- 15. Question Should I check this course EVERY DAY? ANSWER: • YES. • I will open up assignments for 3-4 days in advance, if not more. • This is short period of time to complete a semester’s work. • You should be completing work on this course EVERY DAY.
- 16. Question Can I go on vacation while taking this course? ANSWER: • Yes. • But please notify Mr. Hill via email. • But YOU are responsible to complete missing assignments. There will be NO extensions given past August 8. • August 8 is the LAST day for student access to the class.
- 17. Question When is the final day for the class? ANSWER: • Courses will end at 11:59pm on August 8th for student access.
- 18. Question Is there a final exam? ANSWER: • YES…BUT….. • No state exams - all courses will have a teacher made exam. • These will count as 25% of the overall course grade.
- 19. Question What is grading like for this course? ANSWER: Major Grades (tests) 60% Minor Grades 40% 75% of overall grade Final Exam 25% of overall grade
- 20. Question Will POWER SCHOOL be used for this summer session? • ANSWER: NO All grading will be conducted on CANVAS. If your parents want to know, show them your grades.
