    Come to classon time and with all the supplies you need for the day.

    Take an activerole in your learning. Grading Scale and Breakdown<br />Grading Scale:99-100%A+89-91%B+80-82%C+71-73%D+94-98%A85-88%B 76-79%C 67-70%D 92-93%A-83-84%B-74-75%C-65-66%D-64% & below = F<br />Daily Completion Assignments/Bell Work: (20% of overall grade) <br />At the end of most every class period, students are asked to complete a homework assignment for independent practice over the skills/concepts presented. It is very important to have your homework done on time and in the classroom when it is due so you have the ability to ask questions. Even though homework is a smaller part of the grade, it is very important students do the practice to be able to do well on the tests and quizzes.

    Daily homework willbe graded on a 0, 5, and 10 point scale.
  • 5.
    0 = homeworkwas not done and ready to be checked.
  • 6.
    5 = homeworkwas partially done and ready to be checked
  • 7.
    10 = homeworkwas done and ready to be checked
  • 8.
    Daily homework maybe turned in up until the end of the unit for credit.
  • 9.
    Review assignments willbe graded on number correct.
  • 10.
    If you areabsent, it is your responsibility to look at the weekly planner and find out what assignment you missed.
  • 11.
    At the startof each class period, students are asked to complete bell work to review skills/concepts presented the day before or earlier in the year.
  • 12.
    Bell work willbe graded on a 10 point scale.
  • 13.
    It is thestudent’s responsibility to pick up a sheet on Monday, fill it out daily and turn it in on Friday.Quizzes: (30% of overall grade) <br />All quizzes are announced. These quizzes serve as “checkpoints” for the students.
  • 14.
    Quizzes may beretaken as long as they are retaken before the unit test.
  • 15.
    It is thestudent’s responsibility to set up a time to retake the quiz.Tests: (50% of overall grade) <br />A test will be given at the completion of each unit to show the student’s mastery of the content.
  • 16.
    Tests may beretaken if a student fails the test.
  • 17.
    It is thestudent’s responsibility to set up a time to retake the test.Explanation of symbols used in PowerSchool:<br />: Symbol will be used along with a zero on daily completion assignments, reviews, quizzes and tests as a way to communicate with you that your student has not yet completed whatever task it might be. When they do complete the task, the grade will be entered into PowerSchool the “M” symbol will disappear. <br />Additional Information:<br />Class Notes:<br />Students should have a notebook strictly for math notes. They are expected to take organized and readable notes each day. The notes should be labeled with the date and lesson topic. The vocabulary, instructions and examples for each day should be included in the notes.Extra Help/Resources:<br />I am available before school, during your exploratory classes, during lunch and after school.     I send informationalemails out regularly about upcoming tests, quizzes and other events. Please provide an email address for me to send these announcements to. You may provide more than one email address if you would like. (Also, please add my email address, cwohlers@lewiscentral.k12.ia.us to your address book or safe list to make sure the emails I send don’t go to the bulk folder or junk mail because I do send them to all parents at once.)
