The data analyzed over 5,800 donation instances across the region, finding that donations were primarily used to purchase supplies and consumables in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia, while humanitarian aid was the main focus in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

Telomeres act as a biological clock for aging. As cells divide, telomeres become shorter until cell division stops. Researchers discovered activating the telomerase enzyme in mice extended their telomeres, reversing signs of aging. However, fully understanding if and how telomerase could slow human aging requires more research due to biological differences between mice and humans. Currently, the best anti-aging approaches are healthy lifestyle habits and cosmetic procedures to look youthful.
Regression analysis project
This document summarizes a regression analysis project examining the relationship between nutritional factors and calorie content in chips. The researchers compiled nutrition data from various chip types and compared total fat, carbohydrates, and protein to calories. Scatterplots and histograms showed total fat had the strongest positive correlation to calories, while carbohydrates and protein had weaker negative correlations. 2013 National Preparedness Month Toolkit
Preparedness is a year round activity. However, September is the month for recognizing national preparedness. The overall goal is to engage the public to make preparedness a part of their daily lives and just not for one single month. National Preparedness Month (NPM) is geared towards building awareness and encouraging Americans to take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, schools, organizations, businesses, and places of worship. NPM is managed and sponsored by FEMA’s Ready Campaign. The Ready Campaign works closely with Citizen Corps and National Preparedness Community (NPC) members to increase emergency preparedness awareness and activities across the nation and to ensure the rollout of NPM events.
Are You Ready?
To become “resilient” as an Individual, a Group, and as a Community: Resiliency improves if we start preparedness efforts with the individual, work collaboratively within groups that we belong to improve preparedness and then extend preparedness to the community as a whole.
Reduce the impacts of a disaster; perhaps even avoid them: When we are prepared, we can lessen the impacts of disasters, and sometimes even avoid these impacts.
First responders make up <1% of the population: First responders will be focused on the bigger efforts during a disaster and may not be able to attend to individual citizens for awhile so the more self-sufficient we are, the better we will fare during a disaster.
Public emergency resources are very limited: This includes responders as well as logistics. For example, during an evacuation, citizens may be offered lodging at a shelter, however, planning in advance to stay with friends, family or in a hotel, may be a better option for most individuals.
Be a part of the solution, not the problem: Each citizen who is prepared, lessens the burden on first responders.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
