2. What kind of accessibility features do Microsoft
and Mac offer?
Microsoft can help you configure windows for your vision, hearing,
and mobility needs, as complex as a narrator or as simple as slowing
down your curser or using contrasting display colors.
Microsoft can help you alter the size of the items on your screen or
use Microsoft Magnifier and large titles and menus as well as visual
warnings for system sounds and displaying captions.
Mac users can utilize “Alex” the Voice of Mac, Safari Reader to simplify
Internet sites, and several features which will have your computer talking
to you for alerts, calculations, or if you need to know the time.
All of the above and much more.
(no cheating…if this is the first
place you came, go back and read )
3. Good Answer!
However, the Microsoft Accessibilities feature on your
computer can do so much more. Just click on…
1. “start menu”
2. “All Programs”
3. “Accessories”
4. “Accessibilities”
You will be amazed at what your computer is already capable of
doing for you.
You’ll want to tell everyone.
Try again!
4. Great Answer! But wait –
there’s more!
Mac has an entire section on their website designed
to assist people with disabilities. For more
information about Mac features for iPods, iPads,
OS X Lion, Braille displays, and iPhones click here.

5. Excellent!
Most likely at some point in all of our lives, we will need some
kind of assistive technology. It’s here and there is so much
more out there. Information on Assistive Technology can be
found at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community.
