It defines GBS as an acute onset demyelinating peripheral polyneuropathy that causes ascending flaccid paralysis starting in the lower limbs. Clinical features include rapidly progressive motor weakness, sensory symptoms, autonomic dysfunction, and increased cerebrospinal fluid albumin levels. Electrophysiology shows neurogenic abnormalities. Management involves plasmapheresis, steroid therapy, or intravenous immunoglobulin G.
