Nokia/NSN is a global Telecommunications company whose Infrastructure was being
managed at that time by HP. NSN was the Nokia-Siemens-Network networking associated
company
 Datacentre move and Virtualisation for NSN account – virtualization of ~100 servers
for NSN account and simultaneous datacenter move in Lisbon site using VMWare
technology.
o Creation of Bill of Materials and Procurement of new hardware
o Management of hardware installation in new DC
o Management of virtualization of servers using Platespin technology to new
DC
 Nokia Disengagement project - Nokia had chosen a new service provider and my role
was to lead the disengagement for the HP Infrastructure contract and arrange
transition to the new provider (HCL) of ~1200 servers.
o Production of a “black box” process in conjunction with an offshore “factory”
team to ensure a standardized, repeatable process for performing the
migrations using P2V or V2V methods on a VMWare platform
o Hands-on management of migration of servers in conjunction with incoming
Service Provider including out-of-hours working.
o Additionally, I managed the rampdown and scrapping of remaining hardware
to ensure complete disengagement from the account for a hard stop at the
end of September 2013.
As a result of the successful and smooth handover from HP to the new provider, the Nokia
CIO personally commended my work to the HP leadership and I was identified as one of the
leading contributors within HP EMEA during that year.

HP were implementing a new global contract with Nokia to provide enhanced SLAs based on
a virtualized and consolidated environment. As part of this process the server landscape was
being transformed to ensure that these SLAs can be met. This role involved two aspects: the
project management of a transformation stream to ensure this happens according to the
project deadlines and the verification that the SLAs can be met from an overall project
perspective.
Key Results:
 Involved in the project management of the transformation of a wide range of existing
servers using various technologies to conform to the new contract.
 Transformation methods included Physical-to-Virtual (P2V), Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) and in
place.
 Responsible for transformation of 300+ servers.
 Creation of transformation technical checklists and plans and presentation to Nokia PMs
for approval.
 Acted as an expert on SLA contractual documents for Transformation team.
 Overall management of SLA conformance of the transformation project deliverables in
conjunction with delivery stakeholders.
 SLA alignment – sole responsibility and management of the deliverables required to
ensure that the new SLAs can be met. This involves both a wide technical understanding
and communication with all stakeholders through regular meetings and workshops.
