Operant Conditioning Analysis
When I was young, I was very afraid of deep or large bodies of water. I would
scream and thrash and refuse to go into the water deeper than my knees. While
occasionally I still become nervous, I now have mostly overcome this fear. After
analyzing this fear through classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and social
cognitive learning, I have come up with a few explanations for the origin, and
alteration, of this behavior. I first tried to explain my behavior by learning about
classical conditioning. Classical conditioning is where a behavior is learned during a
period called acquisition. There are four stages, or parts, of acquisition. The
unconditioned stimulus (UCS), is when a stimulus is presented that elicits an
instinctive response that has not been learned. The unconditioned response (UCR),
which directly relates to the UCS, being the response elicited by the UCS. Then
comes the conditioned stimulus (CS), which is a... Show more content on

Operant conditioning is the modification of behavior through consequences. There
are two main types of consequences, reinforcement and punishment. Reinforcement is
where a behavior is strengthened by the stimulus that follows. Punishment is where a
behavior is decreased or weakened by the stimulus that follows. And then the type of
stimulus that followed is classified by being positive or negative. Positive is where
something is added or presented to the situation. Negative is where something is
taken away or removed from the situation. These types of stimuluses, and types of
consequences, can be combined into four types of operant conditioning. Positive
reinforcement, where something is added to strengthen a behavior. Negative
reinforcement, where something is taken away to strengthen a behavior. Positive
punishment, where something is added to weaken a behavior. And negative
punishment, where something is taken away to weaken behavior (Passer,
Feminism In Desiree s Baby
Kate Chopin s Desiree s Baby is a short story about a girl named Desiree who is
abandoned, then adopted into a wealthy family. Young Desiree soon grows up and
falls in love with a slave owner, Armand, with whom she conceives a son with only
to discover that her child s appearance consists of African descent characteristics.
Chopin narrates the issues of oppression and loss of identity during a historical
period of time through Desiree s character. Derek Foster and Kris LeJeune s critique,
focusing on the feminist standpoint of Desiree s Baby, attempts to demonstrates how
Desiree s act to flee into the bayou is her first accomplishment of independence.

Foster and LeJeune s critique discloses the idea that Desiree s flee into the bayou is
her first act of independence since she had been with Armand. Chopin presents
Desiree as a character illustrated how the human spirit often suffers from
powerlessness. (Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 155) From
the time that Desiree and Armand tied the knot, she was no longer her own person,
but solely Armands property. Armand never calls Desiree by name; thus , he never
affords her a title. (Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 155) This
emphasizes the Desiree s identity becomes lost within the male s identity even
moreso once Desiree bares Armand s child which shows African American
characteristics. The idea of Armand s child not being purely white, altered Armand
s character towards Desiree which left Desiree with no choice other than to leave
his side with her child. As Chopin narrates: She [Desiree] disappeared among the
reeds and willows that grew thick along the banks of the deep, sluggish bayou: and
she did not come back again. ( Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and
LeJeune,pg 157) Foster and LeJeune stated It is by fleeing that she avoids such
loss when she escapes to the reeds and willows . ( Short Story Criticism, vol.171
Foster and Jeune,pg 157) This insinuates that Desiree s choice to leave, was a her
choice to disembark her state of oppression and embark on her new life independence

The Ideas About Human Communication

COMM330: Elements of Persuasion
How are the ideas about human communication related to the definition of
persuasion? Persuasion can be very complex to define and/or understand. Essentially
by writing this paper, I am attempting to persuade my professor that I understand
persuasion and how it relates to human communication. People use persuasion every
day whether they realize it or not. It can be negative and attempt to manipulate or
deceive. It can also be positive and come in the form of professional persuaders like
clergy or motivational speakers. In this essay, I will attempt to persuade my readers of
the direct and undeniable connection between human communication and persuasion.
Let s first explore the topic of human communication. There are three essential parts
that make up the human communication model, the sender, the message and the
receiver. All three elements are affected by the surroundings where the
communication is taking place. Outside elements or noise can affect the way the
sender communicates and how the receiver interprets the message. To understand this
process let s explore the ecological model of communication. It asserts that
communication occurs in the intersection of four fundamental constructs:
communication between people (creators and consumers) is mediated by messages
which are created using language within media; consumed from media and
interpreted using language. (Foulger, 2004) The sender delivers the
Factors That Affect The Individual s Sense Of Self Is...
The main point of Baldwin et al. s theoretical analysis was to discover how an
individual s sense of self is affected by many components, including personal
experiences. The mental association between these two factors was proposed
because self prospection and close relationships are tied to how individuals view
themselves. We sometimes see ourselves as who we re with, and how they treat us
translates to how we see ourselves. 2. Focus on the first study that Baldwin et al.
report (that is, Study 1, not the first research article they cite). What is the
hypothesis that is being tested in this study? The Hypothesis of the first study is,
there is an alteration in an individual s self prospection when greeted with responses,
whether it be negative or positive. 3. Summarize the design, the independent
variables, and the dependent variables. When you describe the IV and DV, first tell
me what they are at a psychological level (what are the experimenters trying to
manipulate or measure in people s heads?), and then tell me what they are at the level
of concrete operations (what exactly did the experimenters have participants do in the
study what procedure did they use?). The design of the study is completing three
questions, and then getting shown a response. If the response was positive it
reinforced the individual s response to the questions. If the given response was
negative, then the individual reconsidered their past answers. The independent
variable of this study
A Critique of The Times Online Website
This report gives a critique of The Times Online website using a number of design
aspects which include searchability, Navigation, usability, design, interactivity and
content. The main problems identified in the website include a mixture of main
content with advertisement content, too long pages and some of the images
appearing to be quite blurred. The recommendations for redesign include separating
advertisement content from the main content by placing it on top of the page just
before the logo, shortening the pages and using hyperlinks to get to various sections
and using high resolution images on the site.

This creates the perception of too much information on a single page which is not
appealing to users. The designers should have adopted shorter pages and then use
hyperlinks to move to the other sections of the page.
The times Online effectively fulfills its mandate of informing readers because finding
information in this site is generally very simple.
Design
The designers of the website adopted a very simple layout. However, the simplicity
of the layout did not compromise the effectiveness of the site. The white
background color coupled with the consistent usage of color gives the website a
professional look. The logo which is placed on the top left corner of the site has
been made in a professional and does not cause a distraction from the content on the
page.
The location of the logo is consistently placed at the corner at the top left side of
every page. This greatly improves the consistency of the entire site. An advertisement
section is located above the logo. This might distract the content on the pages because
it displays something different from the other sections of the page. However, this
advertisement content has been placed on top of the logo. This makes it quite hard to
notice this advertisement content because it is placed separate from the content of
the main page.
The homepage on the website has been divided into 2 separate columns. This has
separated the information on the website. The column on the left
Analysis Of Swan By Saint-Swan
Since the composition Il bianco e dolce cigno means the sweet white swan, the
sound quality of this particualr piece reminded me Swan that was composed by
Romantic composition Swan by Saint Saens. One way by trying to make this piece
match wit the description of the piece is by readjust the slur in the composition.
Even though the piece itself was very syllabic but in order to create that smooth flow
and gesture of the swan, in my arragement I add in more slur between phrases in
order to showcase the elegent sound of the swan and try to put some romanticism in
the composition. Similar to the Swan that was composed by saint saen, both piece

particular piece to have a different style and more enhance style of color when it s
being performed on two cello given the fact that sometimes string instrument such as
cello can produce even more color compares to a simple four voice part sining and
create more tension and release in the music. One other reason that I choose such
an instrumentation for the arrangement is because out of all the instrument that is
avaliable to us today, cello is one of the few instrument that have the closest voice
range to the human voice. Because of it s wide voice range, it can imitate the
sound of human voice closest compare to other string instruments. Out of all the
string instrument, cello have a voice range that sounds more similar to human
voice. Furthermore, it s one of of the few instrument that is more natural for people
to perform on. Compares to other string instruments such as violin, viola, and
double bass, the way that a person perform a cello require the least amount of
tension in order to create a good sound quality. In addition, the color that a cello
can produce represents varieties of geture mood. From a low bass sound which
symbolized sorrow and calm to it s high pitch where it can be quite exerciting and
energetic. Cello s dark voice is well fitted for interpretate the sound of death, in
addition, it s easy for cello to sing with a beauutiful tone quality which match

To Kill A Mockingbird Jem Mature
Jeremy Atticus Finch, or Jem, is one of the main characters in To Kill a
Mockingbird. He is the son of Atticus Finch and the brother of Scout Finch. At the
beginning of To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem is an immature ten year old, and at the end,
he is a much more mature thirteen year old.
At the beginning of the book, Jem believes that bravery is through the acceptance of
dares given to him. His immaturity is exhibited through the fact that he doesn t think
through the dares imposed upon him and blindly accepts them without thinking of the
consequences. One example of Jem s immature version of bravery is when he
touched the Radley s fence gate. Jem believed that this was courage, when it was
really nothing but ignorance. Had Jem been mature, he ... Show more content on

and waiting until it becomes a tender burger or savory hot dog. The meal would
not be complete without chips and a soda. When looking at the choices of sides,
Americans are faced with what appears to be the hardest decision of their life.
Every chip ranging from the classic nacho cheese to a cheddar and cheese ruffle

Facts About Nail Polish

that are used. The ingredients are: film forming agents, resins and plasticizers,
solvents, and coloring agents. The process of a nail polish, apart from being top
secret, depends on choices made by chemists and chemical engineers in the different
phases of manufacturing. Also, as chemicals and other ingredients become accepted
or rejected for some uses, adjustments are made. For example, formaldehyde was

Storing nail polish in the bathroom is one of the biggest mistakes people make. And

The Hobbit And Divergent Comparison
Comparative Essay
Even though each book has a different story, they all have things in common. The
structures of The Hobbit By: J. R. R. Tolkien and Divergent By: Veronica Roth have
similar themes, but differ in narration and genre. This creates their different and
unique styles and meanings.
The Hobbit is a saga with different stories within each chapter. It gives the sense of
adventure and fantasy that draws the reader in. There are dwarves, trolls, and
hobbits that carries your mind off to a land different from your own. Tolkien use the
narrator as an omnipresent third party. Through this we are able to see every action

Divergent is a story about a dystopian Chicago entering into a rebellious society.

Comparison Between Hamlet And Frankenstein
Have you ever felt responsible for something that has happened to your family? Like
you had a chance to do something about it but you chose not to? This is a common
thought as many people tend to blame themselves for something that they no hand in
creating, without reason. This is not the case in both William Shakespeare s Hamlet
and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. In both of these pieces of literature the protagonists
rightfully blame themselves for what happens to some of their familymembers as they
either created what caused harm to their families or they did the harming themselves,
albeit unintentionally. Hamlet is charged with the family duty of avenging his father,
while Dr. Frankensteinshould fulfil his obligation to foster his creation. Neither are
able to fully execute their duties and their irresponsible nature causes their own
downfall and the ultimate collapse of their family. The collapse of the protagonists
and their families is brought on by mental anguish, a lack of comfort/love, and tragic
death. Therefore, a son must obey the orders of a father and a father must provide
guidance for his progeny to maintain the family unit. First, the collapse of the
protagonists and their families is brought on by the mental anguish that both
protagonists go through throughout their respective stories. This mental anguish is
brought upon them through their guilt, their carrying a heavy burden, and their
regretting a lot of what they have done. Hamlet feels guilt because
Antoine Lavoisier Research Paper
Why Lavoisier is famous:
Antoine Lavoisier revolutionized chemistry. He named the elements carbon,
hydrogen and oxygen; discovered oxygen s role in combustion and respiration;
established that water is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen; discovered that sulfur
is an element, and helped continue the transformation of chemistry from a qualitative
science into a quantitative one. He created a new form of nomenclature which is the
skeleton of today s Periodic Table, and he famously proved the theory of phlogiston
incorrect and replaced it with the law of conservation of mass and his theory of
oxygenation (Holmes, introduction).

Key Components of a Successful Blog
After reading many articles on the web about successful blogging, the main
components are fairly universal across the board. The main and possibly most
important components would be to blog about something that you have a passion
for. Yes, you can fake it for a little while, but eventually you will run out of ideas to
write about on that topic, and your readers will lose interest. You must also be able to
gain trust and become and authority among your blog following readers. Another
crucial aspect is that you must strive to keep your blog different, and interesting.
With as many options as there are across the web today, you must be able to capture
your readers attention. Also, you must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a successful blog, you are going to want to target a specific audience, and adjust
your writing styles appropriately to garner the maximum amount of interest in your
blog.
The next two components of your successful blog go almost hand in hand.
Naturally, most bloggers are not looking to read thesis papers on the topics in
question, but rather something different, and interesting. You can do this through a
variety of ways; your blog can be humorous, thought provoking, or informative (5
Key). Long term, this is very necessary to developing a successful, popular blog.
Another aspect that must be considered when trying to keep your blog interesting
is the amount of times you post on your blog. It s a very simple concept; very few
readers are going to want to read the same thing over and over again. Bloggers enjoy
reading about other peoples lives in an interesting, and captivating way. Consistently
posting, and dedicating yourself to create and maintain an interesting and addictive
blog is a major key in how successful your blog ultimately is.
People in general enjoy interaction as well, which is why you want to provide, and
encourage, constant feedback from your readers. According to the article titled 5
Key Components to Consider when Creating a Blog, you must remember that your
blog is created as a social community, or at the very least, you want your readers to
feel that way. The article elaborates
Why I Am An Effective Facilitator, And Compliment My
Partner
October Reflection Up to this point in the course, there has been plenty of
information to take in. Course material has been changed multiple times, and getting
used to the similarities and differences in partners has been challenging. Presentation
skills have also needed to be emphasized in order to be an effective facilitator, and
compliment my partner in the best way possible. Discussed below are the obstacles
in which I believe have come up throughout the semester that should be addressed,
as well as ways in which I have attempted to overcome those obstacles. The
difficulty that I have dealt with in this course is not necessarily concerned with
presentation or knowledge of the material, but rather the organization and
miscommunication that comes along with it. I understand that from the start there
has been plenty of barriers that we had to push through, both as students and the
professor, but nonetheless it hindered our ability to really take off on our own.
Each time I attempted to sit down and learn the course material, it would change all
of a sudden. Not in terms of the material itself, but the way in which both the TAs
and the professor wanted it to be facilitated. This raises the second issue, and the one
I found the most challenging. The miscommunication between the TAs themselves,
as well as the professor, and having Caroline and Bobby s presentation to top it all
off. I felt that nobody was on the same page in terms of how they wanted parts of the
Essay on Homeless Women in America
Homeless Women in America
Today in the U.S. there is a large percentage of people that are homeless. There are
so many questions when one sees a homeless person, for example why doesn t he
or she get a job and get out of the streets? People that make comments like the one
just made probably doesn t really know anyone that is homeless so they do no
understand what they go through. In the book Tell Me Who I Am, Elliot Liebow
tries to explain what the cost and gains are for women living in a homeless shelter.
In 1984 Elliot Liebow decided to study homeless women in Washington D.C.
The place that he volunteered at was called the Refuge Shelter for Homeless Women.
At this shelter Liebow became great friends with ... Show more content on

He said that these women would try to show people
along with themselves that they were mentally ill. These women would start to feel
sorry
for themselves and feel like it s them against the world.
Another cost that the women experienced from living at the shelter was their
inability to get a job. The reason for this was because the women would not be able to
put a phone number and address on the application. Some of the women may get hired
for a job but the employer was not able to get in touch with them to in form the
women.
The women could put down the address to the shelter but most wouldn t because they
believed that employers would be scared off. The women tried to get the head of the
shelter to change the way that the phone was answered but the request was denied.
Another cost from living at the shelter was the fact that the will always be racism.
In the shelter there many different points of views every person had a opinion about a
certain issue. There were some women that didn t like other women
because of there race. This was a issue that wasn t a favorite of most people at the
shelter. Some of the white females felt like they couldn t be friends with black
females because of the attitudes of the black females. One women was noted for
saying that black people ruled Washington. This comment was made
Childhood Absence Epilepsy Case Study
B) When a child is suspected of having CAE, a history and physical exam is
completed. Then an EEG is usually done to detect any possible seizure activity. The
child is normally asked to hyperventilate in order to trigger the seizure. Spikes and
wave discharges at 3 Hz that are generalized demonstrated this type of seizureon the
EEG. CT and MRI scans can also be done and should show normal brainactivity
(Childhood Absence Epilepsy, n.d.). Absence seizures are treated with anti seizure
medication throughout their lifetime. These medications generally GABA receptors
that inhibit and prevent action potentials to occur within neurons. It is imperative that
the child takes their medication regularly in order to control seizures (Getz, 2014).
Meursault Quote Analysis
Later in the novel, Meursault has an altercation with two Arab men, ultimately
resulting in him having to shoot and kill one of them. Meursault was upset that he
had to resort to taking the man s life but also when he was in the act he did not think
of the repercussions of murdering somebody. Meursault alludes to the sunagain at the
time he was about to shoot the Arab. My forehead was especially hurting me.. (55).
Meursault does not dwell on the past nor does he worry about the future, he always
lives in the present and in turn, was ultimately the reason he murder the Arab man.
She lay down right next to me and the combined warmth of her and the sun made me
doze off. (51). This quote refers to the fact he found comfort after the murder from the
sun. Meursault used the sun to cope with the stress from him murdering the Arab

attention to what was happening during the trial and was spacing and did not help

anxiety and fear. As the sun gets hotter, things get worse . (82). Meursault keeps
staring at the sun and it hurts him now instead of bringing him serenity. The sun no
longer provides any benefit for Meursault ever since he refered to it when he was

The best compliment that somebody can make to another person is to say, You look
fantastic . It means that the job that somebody did with his outfit is successful, and he

than hearing about a specific part of the outfit, for example, the shoes, or a bag, or a

with his self confidence making the person look fantastic. It s especially important

What Does Alliteration In True Night Mean
True Night by Gary Snyder
In the poem True Night by the modernist and jollity poet Gary Snyder, shows an
amount of poetic devices that allow one to see the modernism values. Alliteration
and Onomatopoeia are some poetic devices the reader can notice within the text.
Modernism in the 20th century, the British public was faced with a series of events
that shook the world. Because of Britain s colonial past, many writers have had the
advantage and confusion of a double heritage. Writers from Ireland, Africa, and other
former British holdings all over the world have struggled to maintain a sense of their
own culture and traditions after being engulfed in those of the British. Gary Snyder

personal and the students can work on their penmanship. Handwriting also helps the
students with their spelling because there is no spell check. In the letter they will
introduce themselves and tell them about the area they live in. Once the letter is

Social Commentary In Lord The Flies
The concept of social commentary has evolved since pre industrial time, society has
impact on human behavior no matter what age group. Instinct has became stronger
and reason has became weaker. Human behavior is nature v.s nurture, William

commentary and how the boys have change. Kids are nurtured when they are
young, as they grow up they become more independent adding instinct in to the
cycle of life. When he gets [back] he ll come and rescue us ( William Golding 13),

The Importance of Masculine and Feminine in Dr. Strangelove
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) is
a dark comedy film by Stanley Kubrick. The film deals with nuclear war which was
a hot topic during the 50 s and 60 s. Americans were very paranoid about communists
and nuclear war at this time. This film shows how ridiculous the paranoia about
nuclear war through a sexual relationship allegory. The allegory deals with the
masculine and the feminine. The masculine is an important part of the nuclear war
efforts while the feminine takes a backseat. The feminine is displayed in men as a
negative. The sexual allegory becomes funny through ... Show more content on

Strangelove are all shown as weak and impotent. The characters are either physically
handicapped or just weak minded. Mandrake and President both are represented as
meek while Dr. Strangelove is physically impaired in a wheelchair with a prosthetic
arm. These characters are all hesitant in some way to wage war which is shown as a
negative. They are seen as incapable when it comes time to take control of the
situation. Mandrake couldn t stop Jack D. Ripper from launching the nuke. The
President couldn t seize control over his own army. Dr. Strangelove couldn t control
his arm at the very end. These are all deliberate to show their submissive femininity.
The president and Mandrake are both feminine in their demeanor and personality.
They don t want to go to war, but they also cannot take control and stop the war.
This can be seen as the female of the relationship not wanting sex. This leads those
masculine men frustrated. The masculine characters in the film, Buck and Jack D.
Ripper, are quite enthusiastic for nuclear war and sex. Their desire for sex and war
allows them to go forward in the war effort in an energetic manner.
Buck is always energetic when talking about the war, so much so, that he literally
fights in the war room. Buck wrestles with the Russian diplomat due to his
enthusiasm for war and his sexual frustration. This causes the president to say There
is no fighting in the war room. The movie uses this line for
Natasha Trethewey Poem
The title of Natasha Trethewey s poem, Amateur Fighter , is what made me
curious to read it. An amateur fighter is an odd subject choice. It is more common
to read poems or even stories about great fighters or champions. The title also sets
the tone of the poem. Obviously, the poem will not be about a hero, but instead, it
will be about a fighter. It is also interesting that the poem is titled Amateur Fighter ,
yet the poem says that the fighter won a prize. It makes me think the word fighter
could mean a boxer or someone who is fighting for life or their place in it. A more
narrative poem, the life of Trethewey s father is told through the lens of his boxing.
Her father s history in boxing acts as a glue base to which all of the defining facts
about his life stick. By looking at his life through his boxing, Trethewey is able to
explain aspects of his life without prosaic writing. The lines, Perhaps he learned
/ just to box a stepfather, then turned/ that anger into a prize at the Halifax gym, is
able to introduce a possibly abusive stepfather by insinuating that the anger he felt
towards his stepfather fueled his passion for boxing and led to him becoming
skilled. The simple images in Amateur Fighter are impactful and clearly tell the
story of the fighter. The diction of this poem is not embellished but understated and
straight forward. A great example of this is the line, What s left is the tiny gold
glove/ hanging from his keychain. The image of a tiny gold
Ghosts Are The Spirits Of The Dead
Specter, spirit, banshee, poltergeist, apparition, phantom, or spook, call them what
you wish, but the general most common term for these creatures are ghosts. The
word ghost has many connotations connected to it in the American culture. One
could mean the scary or friendly fictional ghosts of Halloween or one could mean
the more serious and controversial creature, the spirit of a dead person stuck in
between earth and the afterlife. Even if one doesn t believe in them, one is very
likely to encounter one in the American culture, whether it is through knowing
people who believe they have encountered ghosts, or through media such as movies
or books. Ghosts have been entangled in our history and culture. There are so many
different definitions and views on these creatures. Thus the issue of the cultural
importance of ghosts in America is unresolved because of entertainment views,
scientific evidence or lack of, and religious views. From a traditional stand point,
ghosts are the spirits of the dead. Stephen Wagner from About.com claims that
ghosts are a common part of the human experience. In his article, Ghosts: What Are
They? , Wagner categorizes the common views of ghosts. The first is that they are
the spirits of dead people that for some reason are stuck between this world and the
next, usually due to the result of a tragedy or trauma (Wagner 1). Another type of
ghostis what Wagner labels residual hauntings or recordings, ghosts that appear to be
mere recordings on

Summary Of The Book The Trail
They were on their morning walk through the endless trails and old dirt paths that
twisted and turned until you saw no end. The trails were covered with fresh snow
stacked upon autumn s forgotten leaves that were never bothered to be picked up.
Walking into the woods, holding his gun with an old torn red flannel tee on, Jason
has doubts that this might be his last season. Charlie was already climbing down the
hillside, straying off the trails, and hoping of making the first kill to prove his
worthiness to his owner. Jason calls back to Charlie, Come mere ol boy, don t start
without me! and they begin their way quietly trudging through the dense woodsto
their special spot. They continue down the beaten path until Jason and Charlie
come to a clearing in the woods where the only drops of sun come down through
the dead leaves that have yet to fall. Here Jason pulls out a decaying tarp and sets
up base camp. From camp, you can see all the rolling hillsides slope down into one
large snake like river flowing through the mountains until it is lost in the distance.
The Tennessee mountains are a treacherous terrain filled with steep drop offs and
deadly trails. One can easily become lost and lose all sense of direction. Clutching
his compass in one hand, Jason is prepared to stay the whole winter. Charlie lays next
to Jason on the tarp and begins to look cautiously around him at the other side of the
roaring river waiting for movement. Charlie imagines himself springing

depending on the age of the participant. Also, it is known that young children usually
do not do well on tests because they lack the concentration to finish this test. The test

The Pros And Cons Of Medicinal Marijuana
Introduction Medicinal marijuana is one of many ethical issues that are
encountered in the medical field. According to National Institutes of Health
Medicinal marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains the mind altering chemical
delta 9 tetrahydrocannabino (THC) and other similar compounds such as
cannabidiol (CBD). THC and CBD are the two most important ingredients in
medical marijuana. Both THC and CBD have synergistic effects, but THC has the
psychoactive compounds which alters the mind (NIH, 2017). Now legal in 29
states, it is being used for medical purposes such as alleviate pain, reduce seizures,
and appetite stimulation. There are controversies regarding the effects of using this
drug such as hallucination, intoxication, or dependence. Although there are benefits
for its medical use, there are also risks involved just like in any drug. The decision
is up to the individual regarding its uses. Pros There are health benefits for the use
of the drug. Medicinal marijuana can help alleviate symptoms of cancer such as
nausea and pain. There are animal studies that show that marijuana extracts may help
kill cancer cells and slow growth of malignant cancer (NIH, 2017). It can help
stimulate the appetite for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) patient,
which may help improve food intake. It can help with anxiety and can reduce the
intraocular pressure for people with glaucoma. It can help veterans who have Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The Cosmological Argument For The Existence Of God
Introduction Atheists often insist there is no evidence for the existence of God while
maintaining religious faith is fundamentally irrational. This paper will examine the
KalДЃm Cosmological Argument (KCA), demonstrating that it offers strong
evidence for the existence of God, thereby providing a rational foundation for the
Christian faith.
Background
The cosmological argument is, a family of arguments that seek to demonstrate the
existence of a Sufficient Reason or First Cause of the existence of the cosmos.
Historians trace an early version of the cosmological argument to Ibn SД«nДЃ (c. 980
1037), and philosophers commonly differentiate argument variations into three basic
categories. The first, the KCA, seeks to establish the First ... Show more content on

Common experience and empirical evidence continually verify the causal principle,
and falsification has not occurred. These considerations lead Dr. Craig to conclude,
It is somewhat unwise to argue in favor of it [the first premise], for any proof of the
principle is likely to be less obvious than the principle itself, and, as Aristotle
remarked, one ought not to try to prove the obvious via the less obvious. Although it
appears irrational to deny the first premise, some scholars have challenged the causal
principle on philosophical grounds. Deriving arguments from David Hume,
philosophers (such as J.L. Mackie) have sought to refute the first premise by
contending there is no reason to believe the causal principle is a priori true. Contrary
to their assertion, the principle of causation appears to be a synthetic a priori
proposition, as it is a universal and necessary feature of both cognition and reality,
providing the precondition of thought itself. Nonetheless, challenging the causal
principle because it is not a priori true does nothing to invalidate the premise since the
assertion does not indicate the premise is false, nor does it compel us to think the
antithesis is plausible that something can truly originate from uncaused. Undeterred,
such opponents further maintain that an infinite chain of contingent events could
provide a sufficient explanation for the existence of the universe, even if it were void a
African American Music In The 20th Century
The twentieth century was a great time for America, things were changed
dramatically and this was strongly shown through music. America is actually the
birthplace too many different types of music from jazz to rock. During this time
period there was the swing, country music all the way to things such as rhythm and
blues, even classical music. The music world was definitely changing as it is
continuing to.
Jazz saw its early development in the African American communities all throughout
the South which was effected majorly by rhythms. Soul music grew up alongside
rock and roll which was also developed out of gospel. Jazz took from American art
form ragtime to create its unique sound. In the early part of the 20th century, there

Bach Essay examples
Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 1750) was unlike most other composers of his time.
He wrote music for the glory of God, and to satisfy his own burning curiosity, not
for future fame. During the 1700s, people knew him as a talented musician, not as
a composer, as we do today. He never left his country to pursue bigger and better
things. Bach was content as long as he could play music. Traditions were very
important to him. He wanted to carry on the musical tradition of his family, and
never opted to change the traditional ways of composing, as did most composers.
Bach s work is vast and unique. Bach received his first big job at the age of 23. He
was a court musician, and wrote many wonderful organ pieces, most of which ...

Around the year 1721, Bach wrote a book of music called the Well Tempered Clavier,
which was composed of 24 exercises. It had a prelude and fugue for every major and
minor key. Twenty years later, he produced a second volume that was just like the
first [in format]. Bach s polyphonic music is full of counterpoint, the combining of
two or more melodic lines into a meaningful whole. He perfected the art of the
fugue, a complex composition usually written for four musical lines. Bach s
fugues involved incredibly complex melodies that, even though they started at
different times, wound up sounding good together. The one I chose to describe is
the first prelude and fugue from Bach s second book, in the key of C major. This
piece includes a harpsichord, an ancestor to the piano. It begins with a pedal note,
the low note that keeps ringing while others are played around it . In this case, the
pedal note is a low C and lasts for 13 seconds. This gives the song stability, making
this piece feel momentous. It s as if Bach were throwing open the big doors to some
enormous building. As the song progresses, you can hear the counterpoint, including
low and high notes. Once the prelude ends, there is a pause, and the fugue begins.
The fugue begins with the first melody, with no accompaniment. As the first changes,
the second melody is added at a slightly higher pitch. Again this
Gears and Simple Machines
Gears are part of one of the six simple machines, the wheel and axle. Simple
machines, such as the wheel and axle, are mechanisms created to make difficult
work much easier. The six simple machines consist of the inclined plane, screw,
lever, pulley, wedge, and wheel and axle. Gears can be found in many household
items today. For example, watches, bicycles, and pencil sharpeners. The most
common object, in which gears are found, is the car. The car s steering wheel is a
simple machine, called the wheel and axle. Gears however, are not found in the
steering wheel, but are located in the engine. The gears are then controlled by the
gear shift, which spins the gears around, causing the car to move or brake. Gears
are circular objects that have teeth all around the outer rim, or just a wheel with
teeth. When in movement, if a singular gear s teeth fit into a second gear, it will
cause that second gear to rotate in the opposite direction of the first gear. This can
then be continued by adding more gears, which in turn create a system of gears. A
gear system can be used to function a machine, such as car s gear shift. This system is
called a gear train. Whichever gear starts the gear train by rotating is called the
driver. The final gear on the opposite end of the train is called the driven gear.
Meshed Gears is a gear train of five or more gears. There are many other gear types
such as Spur gears, bevel gears, worm gears, rack gears, and internal gears. All these
gears are
The Issue Of The Juvenile Justice System Essay
1.1Introduction
The term juvenile is derived from a Latin word Juvenis meaning Young (who has not
attained the age of 18 years). A Children have been recognized supremely assets of the
Nation. The government of India through its National Policy for Children stated that
their nurture and solicitude are our responsibility. Equal opportunities for
development to all children during the period of growth should be our aim, for this
would serve our larger purpose of reducing inequality and ensuring social justice.
Children ought to have been the subject of prime focus of development planning,
research, and welfare in India but unfortunately, it has not been so. Despite the
Constitutional vision of a healthy and happy child protected against abuse and
exploitation, and a National Policy for Children, the majority of children in India
continue to live without a cared, protected and meaningful childhood. The juvenile
justice system as conceived by legislation aims at providing care, protection,
treatment, development, and rehabilitation of delinquent and neglected juvenile.
India is a signatory to UN Declaration on The Rights of the Child, 1959 which
defined and recognized various Rights of the children namely: The right to health and
care, the right to protection from abuse, the right to protection from exploitation, right
to protection from neglect, right to information, right to expression and right to
nutrition etc have been defined as basic rights of children by the
William Domhoff s Who Rules America Essay
Reading G. William Domhoff s Who Rules America?: The Triumph of the
Corporate Rich was an intriguing and challenging experience for me. My limited
knowledge base of the American political class system mostly stems from high
school US History classes and listening to my mom s stories of her experiences in
the corporate world. Therefore, I am aware that due to my prior lack of knowledge
on the topics presented in Domhoff s book, I may have misjudged some of his finer
points. Part of my struggles may be largely due to the fact that Domhoff s intended
audience for Who Rules America? is other experts in the field of understanding the
sociology of the corporate eliteand their resources of power. However, I believe that
the book has given me a better, if not complete, understanding of the corporate elite
and how they stay in power.
I found the book to be extremely well researched. When Domhoff presents a point,
he uses several sources and logical reasons to back up his theory. For example, when
relating the dominance of the political elite on the government, Domhoff examines
the amount of influence the corporate rich have in our judicial system by
investigating the nine Supreme Court judges during the Obama administration. He
discovered that all of them graduated from one of three elite institutions: Harvard,
Yale, or Columbia (Domhoff, 178, 2014). Domhoff treats most of his assertions in a
similar fashion; he uses extensive research backs up his claims. The book explains the
Pacific Northwest Historical Event
A historical event that occurred in the Pacific Northwest region was the start of
trading between Native Americans from the Pacific Northwest and Europeans. This
was an important event because Non Native Americans were driven to the region
because of the idea of making money. This lead to settlements and trading posts
throughout the region. The social structure of tribes in this region was also affected
by trade. The website http://www.washington.edu/uwired/outreach/cspn/Website
/Classroom%20Materials/Curriculum%20Packets/Indians%20 %20Europeans/II.html
says, In return the Europeans sought furs, and it became relatively simple for
powerful Native leaders to take control of the acquisition, preperation, and trade of
furs within a given area.
And Literary Devices In Hurlyburly
For the Soviet film, see Monologue (film). For the Malayalam film, see Anantaram.
For the speech of a narrator, see Voiceover.
Actor Christopher Walken performing a monologue in the 1984 stage play Hurlyburly
In theatre, a monologue (from Greek: ОјОїОЅПЊО»ОїОіОїП‚, from ОјПЊОЅОїП‚
mГіnos, alone, solitary and О»ПЊОіОїП‚ lГіgos, speech ) is a speech presented by a
single character, most often to express their mental thoughts aloud, though sometimes
also to directly address another character or the audience. Monologues are common
across the range of dramatic media (plays, films,[1] etc.), as well as in non dramatic
media such as poetry.[2] Monologues share much in common with several other
literary devices including soliloquies, apostrophes, and aside. There are, however,
distinctions between each of these devices.

Monologues are similar to poems, epiphanies, and others in that they involve one
voice speaking but there are differences between them. For example, a soliloquy
involves a character relating his or her thoughts and feelings to him/herself and to the
audience without addressing any of the other characters. A monologueis the thoughts
of a person spoken out loud.[3] Monologues are also distinct from apostrophes, in
which the speaker or writer addresses an imaginary person, inanimate object, or

Character Analysis Of Detective Spade
Throughout the novel, nothing is told about Detective spade or his private life.
Unlike Detective Marlowe the reader learns that he once was an F.B investigator
that was fired. Detective Spade s past life is untold and unknown. Depending and
trusting no one but himself with no individual from his past to vouch for his
credibility trust by the people put with him. Has never displayed a weakness or
has shown vulnerability toward any force of nature or human being. He is viewed
as a stone cold individual that holds no emotions. Due to unknown information of
Detective Spade, the people view him as a mysterious individual. He is mysterious
in his own way and that creates fear in people when approaching him. Unable to
figure out who he truly is as an individual. Detective Spade engages in a
conversation with Mrs.Haven, No, we lived in Seattle the first year and then came
here. San Francisco all the time? No, we lived in Seattle the first year and then
came here He from Seattle? She shook her head. Someplace in Delaware. What
Place? I don t know. Spade drew his thickish brows together a little Where are you
from? She said sweetly, You re not hunting for me. You act like it, he grumbled.
Well, who are his friends? Don t ask me! He made an impatient grimace. You know
some of them he insisted. (Hammett, 2). Detective Shade has no interest in
Mrs.Havens feelings or emotions about her husband Eli Haven missing. He is
speaking to a woman who is unable to locate her husband and shows simply no
remorse or sympathy. He is interested in learning about the company he keeps around
him friend or acquaintance which will benefit his investigation. Insofar as it mirrors
the world, literature reflects the prevalent social attitude toward women; and since
this attitude so often values men and masculine pursuits over women and feminine
hobbies, women s concerns seem devalued. (Griffin pg 1). What Griffin states is
exactly what has taken place during the conversation between Mrs.Haven and
Detective Spade. Mrs.Haven during this conversation is being portrayed as being
women that are being questioned beyond her power, knowledge, and ability. When
Detective Spade is asking her questions she doesn t have
Comparing Shakespeare s Macbeth And Shakesperes Plays
Generally speaking the mind can react differently to the same prompt due to the
structure which it was formed from. Physcologists say there are ways to trick the
mind into seeing or feeling a certain way. Consequently, how people percieve an act
changes depending how it was performed. Whereas Shakesperes plays brought
about an emotional appeal to the readers. Granted , in society today it has become
more complex yet easier to make an act retrieve an emotional response from
watchers or readers. Futhurmore, Willamson and Stewart both perform the same
scene from Act 2 Scene 1 of William Shakespeare s play Macbeth

Particularly, Stewarts background sound is simialr to a heart beat; one can hear
the swishing sound of the blood pumping in and out of the heart. The heartbeat is a
key componet in the effectness of Stewarts version, leaving room for many
possible reasons behind it. Consequently , the heart beat could be representation of
Stewarts own heart racing before commiting the deed ahead. Also at the end of
this verison the heart beat stops pumping and the sound stops, implying a death of
somesort took place. In addtion, Stewart uses his vocal cords to howl like a wolf;
this sound effect adds to the idea that Stewarts quest brings forth an excitment
/happiness . The howl could be a symbol for a step towards freedom for Stewart.
Simiarly, Williamsons background sound is mere static. The static embleshies
Williamsons verson by adding to the idea of his mind unraveling. While the static
aids in the effeect of Williamsons tone throughout; it is especially affective towards
the end of the scene. As a rule static can be heard at the end of a call with bad
reception before the call is dropped. Likewise static in this version could represent
Williamsons state of mind; thus at the closing of the scene the static halts as

Scarlet Letter Rhetorical Analysis Essay
In his essay On the Scarlet Letter, D.H. Lawrence criticizes Hester s immoral
behavior for her adulterous actions. Lawrence views her as a shameful member of
Puritan society and centers his argument on her sin and its effects on the story s
plot. D.H. Lawrence s use of different literary techniques strengthens his claim that
Hester is not the heroine through his sarcastic tone, abrupt syntax, and biblical
allusions. Lawrence incorporates a sarcastic tone in his essay to belittle the
adulteress because she is not deserving of a high reputation. Hester is degraded
because she is shameful to all women. Lawrence sarcastically insists that she be put
upon the scaffold and worship her there (Lawrence). Since the author does not
approve of Hester s adultery, he uses sarcasmso his readers can envision another side
of Hester as a woman who is worthy of anything but praise. Lawrence sarcastically
comments that she is being worshipped, which contrasts with Nathaniel Hawthornes
judgement towards Hester who he believes plays the heroine in the novel. His
sarcastic tone enables him to bring more emotion beyond the words literal
meaning. In addition to Lawrence s disrespect for Hester regarding the
unnecessary worship she receives in the novel, he is also sardonic when he
describes her appearance. Hester s scarlet letter only represents her shameful sin of
adultery in Lawrence s eyes. He speculates that the women will be envying [Hester
s] sin, and beating [her] because [she s] stolen an advantage over them (Lawrence).
His sarcastic tone indicates that he has no respect for any woman who commits
adultery. Because Lawrence believes that it is the woman, not the man, who is at
fault for the development of an unorthodox relationship, he immediately blames
Hester for creating such a relationship with Dimmesdale. Lawrence will not change
his opinion on Hester no matter what she does in attempt to better her reputation.
Lawrence s use of abrupt syntax supports his views on Hester because it acts as a
quick list of insults. Equally important, it provides the reader with direct reasons as to
why Hester should be berated in the novel. Since Lawrence suspects that the
complications in the novel begin with

Dallas Cowboys Research Paper
So who will win the 2016 Super Bowl............hmmmmm and the answer is the
Jacksonville Jaguars,...just f####ng with you The Dallas Cowboys will win the
Super Bowl in 2016. This is coming from a New Englander who has always
loathed America s team. From Roger Staubach to Tony Romo all the phoney
bologna fans, (Mike Ware are you reading this, LOL) I used to sleep over this kids
house growing up and he had the Cowboys, sheets, lamps etc. It was horrific. How
can you you grow up in Patriots country and like the Cowboys! Not cool. BTW
Mikey, hope you and the family are well! Who declared these guys were America s
team, certainly not me. So growing up I wanted them to lose every game, and
loved it when they did. I detest the Cowboys, Duke hoops, ND football, Montreal
Canadiens, Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Yankees. At some point I will blog
each one of them and rip them to shreds, but back to Dallas. Tony Romo is
underrated, there I said it. If he plays in a good organization, (Jerry Jones is a clown),
and he has good coaching (Wade Phillips, yikes, OK he had Parcells for a short time
but not long enough) he has a ring or two. The boys were one play... Show more

Gaucher Disease Types I, II, IIi
Gaucher Disease Types I, II, III
Gaucher Disease is a type of lysosomal storage disorder. The importance is that they
are meant to keep everything in order. Lysosomes are microscopic organelles that
have a primary function to serve as digestion compartments. According to Davidson,
(1) lysosomes help break down many different materials such as fats, proteins, waste
products, and more to transfer those compounds to become new cell building
materials . Consequentially, making lysosomes an important factor to our daily
functions in life. Lysosomal storage diseases form due to the modification of
lysosomal enzymes. The diseases can be metabolically inherited through gene
mutation. In Lysosomal Storage Disease , Michael Kruer (2) claims that, ... Show

In fact type two and three effect the brain and spinal cord becoming very serious.
In contrast, Type three is not as quick to become evident in young children. Similar
to type one, type three can show up later in childhood, and take longer to progress
into worse symptoms. Sadly, infants that are proscribed with type two disease
normally don t live to see the age of three. Type two disease quickly takes effect
over a person, not allowing the chance for growth into adulthood. The most severe
Gaucher s disease is Perinatal lethal, which can kill an infant in a matter of days
after being born. The causes for Perinatal lethal, according to Web MD (3) are, too
much fluid in baby s body before or after being born, dry skin, enlarged liver and
spleen, and severe brain and spinal cord problems. Because of these problems an
infant will not be capable of having much of a chance to grow and mature, due to the
weakness of being a fragile newborn.
Ages that symptoms begin, normally vary due to what type of disorder the person
has. The main problem with lysosome diseases are that they are genetically
inherited. Which means, that mothers and fathers genetically carry some type of
disorder and pass it down to their children. Because of this being caused by genetics,
symptoms will normally begin based upon what type of disorder that is inherited.
Which makes it hard to know at what age symptoms will
The Evil Men Do Lives After Them Analysis
Many people wonder how they will be perceived after life. Many legends are
almost as famous after death as they were when they were alive. Michael Jackson
is an example of someone was known throughout his career and after death. Some
may say that he is buried with his music and that will also bring the question as to
what else is buried with him. The evil that men do lives after them; the good is often
buried with their bones (Probst 834). The quote is very powerful and can be
interpreted many different ways.
In Act 3 Scene 2, Antony states The evil men do lives after them; the good is often
buried with their bones (Probst 834). In this quote Mark Antony is alluding to the
fact that evil deeds in history are often easily remembered than the good ones. The
quote was more than relevant in his funeral speech for Caesar. After Caesar s death
the people of Rome fed into the wrong doings of Caesar rather than the good he had
done. In present day, the same outcomes happen. Someone could have an amazing
reputation but do one wrongful deed and that is all anyone talks about. Everyone is
quick to judge, and their excuse is because it is easier to see the bad than the good.

Obama s presidency ended early 2017, his policies and him are almost obsolete to
the country. Barack Obama said change will not come if we wait for some other
person or some other time. We are the ones we ve been waiting for. We are the
change that we seek (Barack). The quote is relevant to the one said by Mark
Antony because Obama like Antony proclaimed that people change and that people
are good. The sad reality is that people do not accept the change and do not care if
the person has been good for 99 percent of their life, but the one time is what will be

Why Enron Became A Middle Man Company
With the changing of the economy in the late 1990s, as the old millennium was
ending and the new one beginning, one particular company discovered a new way
to rise to the top in the trading business. Enron, originally known as a natural gas
pipeline company [started by Kenneth Lay in 1985], soon became known as an
energy trading corporation that bought and sold gas as well as electricity. (Fox, 1).
With over 20,000 employees and 40 worldwide businesses, The Houston, TX
Corporation soon became a prodigy of the times. Originally it made its profit by
promising to deliver a particular amount of gas to certain businesses at market price
on particular days. (O Harrow Jr.). Soon, Enronbecame a middle man company,
placing it between buyers and sellers and making money off of the difference
between the selling and buying prices. Their books were kept closed to each
opposing party, making Enron the only one to know both prices. (O Harrow Jr.).
After entering many complex and intense contracts, the corporation entered into
business with Arthur Andersen, an accounting firm who handled Enron s auditing.
(Fox, 6). Enron had complex services and high rising stocks. At the top of the
game, Enron was a company worth about $70 billion; its stocks were trading at a
rate of $90 a share, and seemed indestructible. Explanation of how Enron worked

Jimmy Baker Sex Addiction Essay
My name is Jimmy Baker and I am addicted to pornography. Some consider sex
addiction to be an excuse for inappropriate behavior, which from the viewpoint of
an outsider is a reasonable misconception. However, these outsiders are unable to
comprehend the incessant craving for sexual activities. A sex addict has often
been defined as a person who is obsessed with some type of sexual behavior, and
whose behavior is compulsive and is continued despite significant adverse
consequences (@).(Question 1) Day to day life as a sex addict consists of activities
that are common to most middle aged men of this era like watching football on

One of these few people include my wife. It started off as just a few instances in
which my wife walked into accidently. However, what was thought to be a one time
occurrence has developed into a more frequent problem. As time progressed and
my dependence on pornagraphy increased, more and more of the ones I cared
most for slowly began to drift further away. Doing things like attending the Sunday
morning service at our local Christian churchwith my family turned into something
that I dread going to. Services were no longer inspiring or impelling, but rather
filled with lessons that provoked guilt and shame within myself. Sermons that
target the repercussions of sexual sins now haunt me and linger in the back of my
head day in and day out.(Question 4) The mere thought of my exposure as a sex
addict within my church is daunting. Most people assume a sex addict means that I
look forward to getting between the sheets with everyone I lay my eyes on. This
assumption is what associates the stereotype that all sex addicts are rapist.
Therefore, if I were to reveal my identity as one who suffers from the addiction to
pornagraphy, I would never live down the relentless questions like, Are you a
pedophile? or How many prostitutes do you bring home in a week? .(Question
Paper Airplane Challenges
Working with a new team can be a challenging effort as is; however, working with a
team who was constantly required to join other teams can place a strain on team
dynamics to an even further extent. Composed of only three individuals, working
effectively together was often a very difficult task for my team, as we were
repeatedly obligated to join other groups throughout activities. This put pressure on
not only our team but others as no one was familiar with the team dynamics of each
group except for the members of that team. This was most noticeable during the
paper airplane challenge and having to join another team to discuss a case study.

As this newly formed team had to spend a portion of its time developing and
maintaining the dynamics of a new team, rather than being productive and focused
on the task is an example of the process loss concept of team challenges (McShane,
Steen, Tasa, 2015) This concept of process loss then escalated as joining a group
late results in a longer time spent on understanding how these new members would
transition well with the current ones (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015). Combining
with other groups also introduced the notion of social loafing which is defined as
the process in which individuals are seemingly less motivated when working in
teams and will exert less effort compared if they were working alone (McShane,
Steen, Tasa, 2015). This concept was especially apparent for the airplane activity as
we now had a team that consisted of six members, making some members feel less
valued compared to others. A decrease in value then resulted which was noticeable
when some individuals would not participate and others not would not put much
effort into this
Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legalized . The Same Sex
Marriage
Same sex marriage should be legalized
The same sex marriage has been widely debated in many countries for a long time. It
is
an important issue because it concerns basic moral and human rights. People all over
the world
come to the United States in search of freedom and equality. Being able to marry
anyone, no
matter the gender, is a freedom of right, but if that freedom of right is taken away
from people
than there is no equality. Homosexual people in the United States are people that
deserve
freedom and equality and taking away their right to marriage is taking away their
equality with
the rest of Americans. Even though certain religions are against same sex marriage,

Writing for the majority, Justice
Anthony Kennedy states that no union is more profound than marriage, for it
embodies the
highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. Kennedy goes on to
say that gay
and lesbian couples ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution
grants them
that right. ( Nasci1). I think this amendment protects the rights of homosexuals. Same
sex
marriage should be legal because all individuals have the same right in society; same
sex couples
can constitute a good based family. It is just a way to make official a common union
nowadays,
even there are religious issue; because it is not related to polygamy; and because love
matters
and it does not differ in nature according to the sex of its object or the person who
experiences it.
Prior to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling, same sex marriage is only legal in some states.
Some states do not agree with same sex marriage. Same sex marriage was legal in 36
states and
the District of Columbia. In 19 of those states. (Nascri). I think same sex marriage
should be
legal. The state should not say anything about agreeing to an adult s way of life. If
two people
love each other and want to get married, regardless of their partner s color, religion,
nationality or
gender, they should be allowed to do so love and marriage should be purely a
personal choice.

  • 2. Operant Conditioning Analysis When I was young, I was very afraid of deep or large bodies of water. I would scream and thrash and refuse to go into the water deeper than my knees. While occasionally I still become nervous, I now have mostly overcome this fear. After analyzing this fear through classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and social cognitive learning, I have come up with a few explanations for the origin, and alteration, of this behavior. I first tried to explain my behavior by learning about classical conditioning. Classical conditioning is where a behavior is learned during a period called acquisition. There are four stages, or parts, of acquisition. The unconditioned stimulus (UCS), is when a stimulus is presented that elicits an instinctive response that has not been learned. The unconditioned response (UCR), which directly relates to the UCS, being the response elicited by the UCS. Then comes the conditioned stimulus (CS), which is a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Operant conditioning is the modification of behavior through consequences. There are two main types of consequences, reinforcement and punishment. Reinforcement is where a behavior is strengthened by the stimulus that follows. Punishment is where a behavior is decreased or weakened by the stimulus that follows. And then the type of stimulus that followed is classified by being positive or negative. Positive is where something is added or presented to the situation. Negative is where something is taken away or removed from the situation. These types of stimuluses, and types of consequences, can be combined into four types of operant conditioning. Positive reinforcement, where something is added to strengthen a behavior. Negative reinforcement, where something is taken away to strengthen a behavior. Positive punishment, where something is added to weaken a behavior. And negative punishment, where something is taken away to weaken behavior (Passer,
  • 3. Feminism In Desiree s Baby Kate Chopin s Desiree s Baby is a short story about a girl named Desiree who is abandoned, then adopted into a wealthy family. Young Desiree soon grows up and falls in love with a slave owner, Armand, with whom she conceives a son with only to discover that her child s appearance consists of African descent characteristics. Chopin narrates the issues of oppression and loss of identity during a historical period of time through Desiree s character. Derek Foster and Kris LeJeune s critique, focusing on the feminist standpoint of Desiree s Baby, attempts to demonstrates how Desiree s act to flee into the bayou is her first accomplishment of independence. Desiree s Baby is a short story written in the late 1800 s encompassing the issues of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Foster and LeJeune s critique discloses the idea that Desiree s flee into the bayou is her first act of independence since she had been with Armand. Chopin presents Desiree as a character illustrated how the human spirit often suffers from powerlessness. (Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 155) From the time that Desiree and Armand tied the knot, she was no longer her own person, but solely Armands property. Armand never calls Desiree by name; thus , he never affords her a title. (Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 155) This emphasizes the Desiree s identity becomes lost within the male s identity even moreso once Desiree bares Armand s child which shows African American characteristics. The idea of Armand s child not being purely white, altered Armand s character towards Desiree which left Desiree with no choice other than to leave his side with her child. As Chopin narrates: She [Desiree] disappeared among the reeds and willows that grew thick along the banks of the deep, sluggish bayou: and she did not come back again. ( Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 157) Foster and LeJeune stated It is by fleeing that she avoids such loss when she escapes to the reeds and willows . ( Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and Jeune,pg 157) This insinuates that Desiree s choice to leave, was a her choice to disembark her state of oppression and embark on her new life independence from
  • 4. The Ideas About Human Communication Chalita Brown 1/17/2016 COMM330: Elements of Persuasion How are the ideas about human communication related to the definition of persuasion? Persuasion can be very complex to define and/or understand. Essentially by writing this paper, I am attempting to persuade my professor that I understand persuasion and how it relates to human communication. People use persuasion every day whether they realize it or not. It can be negative and attempt to manipulate or deceive. It can also be positive and come in the form of professional persuaders like clergy or motivational speakers. In this essay, I will attempt to persuade my readers of the direct and undeniable connection between human communication and persuasion. Let s first explore the topic of human communication. There are three essential parts that make up the human communication model, the sender, the message and the receiver. All three elements are affected by the surroundings where the communication is taking place. Outside elements or noise can affect the way the sender communicates and how the receiver interprets the message. To understand this process let s explore the ecological model of communication. It asserts that communication occurs in the intersection of four fundamental constructs: communication between people (creators and consumers) is mediated by messages which are created using language within media; consumed from media and interpreted using language. (Foulger, 2004) The sender delivers the
  • 5. Factors That Affect The Individual s Sense Of Self Is... The main point of Baldwin et al. s theoretical analysis was to discover how an individual s sense of self is affected by many components, including personal experiences. The mental association between these two factors was proposed because self prospection and close relationships are tied to how individuals view themselves. We sometimes see ourselves as who we re with, and how they treat us translates to how we see ourselves. 2. Focus on the first study that Baldwin et al. report (that is, Study 1, not the first research article they cite). What is the hypothesis that is being tested in this study? The Hypothesis of the first study is, there is an alteration in an individual s self prospection when greeted with responses, whether it be negative or positive. 3. Summarize the design, the independent variables, and the dependent variables. When you describe the IV and DV, first tell me what they are at a psychological level (what are the experimenters trying to manipulate or measure in people s heads?), and then tell me what they are at the level of concrete operations (what exactly did the experimenters have participants do in the study what procedure did they use?). The design of the study is completing three questions, and then getting shown a response. If the response was positive it reinforced the individual s response to the questions. If the given response was negative, then the individual reconsidered their past answers. The independent variable of this study
  • 6. A Critique of The Times Online Website This report gives a critique of The Times Online website using a number of design aspects which include searchability, Navigation, usability, design, interactivity and content. The main problems identified in the website include a mixture of main content with advertisement content, too long pages and some of the images appearing to be quite blurred. The recommendations for redesign include separating advertisement content from the main content by placing it on top of the page just before the logo, shortening the pages and using hyperlinks to get to various sections and using high resolution images on the site. Table of Contents Executive summary2 Introduction4 Design aspects4 Searchability4 Navigation5 Usability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This creates the perception of too much information on a single page which is not appealing to users. The designers should have adopted shorter pages and then use hyperlinks to move to the other sections of the page. The times Online effectively fulfills its mandate of informing readers because finding information in this site is generally very simple. Design The designers of the website adopted a very simple layout. However, the simplicity of the layout did not compromise the effectiveness of the site. The white background color coupled with the consistent usage of color gives the website a professional look. The logo which is placed on the top left corner of the site has been made in a professional and does not cause a distraction from the content on the page. The location of the logo is consistently placed at the corner at the top left side of every page. This greatly improves the consistency of the entire site. An advertisement section is located above the logo. This might distract the content on the pages because it displays something different from the other sections of the page. However, this advertisement content has been placed on top of the logo. This makes it quite hard to notice this advertisement content because it is placed separate from the content of the main page. The homepage on the website has been divided into 2 separate columns. This has separated the information on the website. The column on the left
  • 7. Analysis Of Swan By Saint-Swan Since the composition Il bianco e dolce cigno means the sweet white swan, the sound quality of this particualr piece reminded me Swan that was composed by Romantic composition Swan by Saint Saens. One way by trying to make this piece match wit the description of the piece is by readjust the slur in the composition. Even though the piece itself was very syllabic but in order to create that smooth flow and gesture of the swan, in my arragement I add in more slur between phrases in order to showcase the elegent sound of the swan and try to put some romanticism in the composition. Similar to the Swan that was composed by saint saen, both piece contain elements that share the similar character. As Roche said ...this madrigal illustrate a... This show that the emphasis of the chord through out the music will allow this particular piece to have a different style and more enhance style of color when it s being performed on two cello given the fact that sometimes string instrument such as cello can produce even more color compares to a simple four voice part sining and create more tension and release in the music. One other reason that I choose such an instrumentation for the arrangement is because out of all the instrument that is avaliable to us today, cello is one of the few instrument that have the closest voice range to the human voice. Because of it s wide voice range, it can imitate the sound of human voice closest compare to other string instruments. Out of all the string instrument, cello have a voice range that sounds more similar to human voice. Furthermore, it s one of of the few instrument that is more natural for people to perform on. Compares to other string instruments such as violin, viola, and double bass, the way that a person perform a cello require the least amount of tension in order to create a good sound quality. In addition, the color that a cello can produce represents varieties of geture mood. From a low bass sound which symbolized sorrow and calm to it s high pitch where it can be quite exerciting and energetic. Cello s dark voice is well fitted for interpretate the sound of death, in addition, it s easy for cello to sing with a beauutiful tone quality which match
  • 8. Shroud Of Turin The shroud of turin is what most people think the thing that covered jesus when he died. It also states that there is little but reliable historical evidence,it also says that the shroud was in the 14th century but there has been numerous accounts of other people saying they found the burial shroud one site says the shroud of turin manufactured during the middle ages. It also says that shortly after the shroud was discovered, the bishop who discovered the artist declared it a fake. On the site it also says that three different universities ran tests, and all of them said they were 95% sure that the shroud was made in 1260 1390. • 32. Natasha Trethewey Poem The title of Natasha Trethewey s poem, Amateur Fighter , is what made me curious to read it. An amateur fighter is an odd subject choice. It is more common to read poems or even stories about great fighters or champions. The title also sets the tone of the poem. Obviously, the poem will not be about a hero, but instead, it will be about a fighter. It is also interesting that the poem is titled Amateur Fighter , yet the poem says that the fighter won a prize. It makes me think the word fighter could mean a boxer or someone who is fighting for life or their place in it. A more narrative poem, the life of Trethewey s father is told through the lens of his boxing. Her father s history in boxing acts as a glue base to which all of the defining facts about his life stick. By looking at his life through his boxing, Trethewey is able to explain aspects of his life without prosaic writing. The lines, Perhaps he learned / just to box a stepfather, then turned/ that anger into a prize at the Halifax gym, is able to introduce a possibly abusive stepfather by insinuating that the anger he felt towards his stepfather fueled his passion for boxing and led to him becoming skilled. The simple images in Amateur Fighter are impactful and clearly tell the story of the fighter. The diction of this poem is not embellished but understated and straight forward. A great example of this is the line, What s left is the tiny gold glove/ hanging from his keychain. The image of a tiny gold

Ghosts Are The Spirits Of The Dead Specter, spirit, banshee, poltergeist, apparition, phantom, or spook, call them what you wish, but the general most common term for these creatures are ghosts. The word ghost has many connotations connected to it in the American culture. One could mean the scary or friendly fictional ghosts of Halloween or one could mean the more serious and controversial creature, the spirit of a dead person stuck in between earth and the afterlife. Even if one doesn t believe in them, one is very likely to encounter one in the American culture, whether it is through knowing people who believe they have encountered ghosts, or through media such as movies or books. Ghosts have been entangled in our history and culture. There are so many different definitions and views on these creatures. Thus the issue of the cultural importance of ghosts in America is unresolved because of entertainment views, scientific evidence or lack of, and religious views. From a traditional stand point, ghosts are the spirits of the dead. Stephen Wagner from About.com claims that ghosts are a common part of the human experience. In his article, Ghosts: What Are They? , Wagner categorizes the common views of ghosts. The first is that they are the spirits of dead people that for some reason are stuck between this world and the next, usually due to the result of a tragedy or trauma (Wagner 1). The trails were covered with fresh snow stacked upon autumn s forgotten leaves that were never bothered to be picked up. Walking into the woods, holding his gun with an old torn red flannel tee on, Jason has doubts that this might be his last season. Charlie was already climbing down the hillside, straying off the trails, and hoping of making the first kill to prove his worthiness to his owner. Jason calls back to Charlie, Come mere ol boy, don t start without me! and they begin their way quietly trudging through the dense woodsto their special spot. They continue down the beaten path until Jason and Charlie come to a clearing in the woods where the only drops of sun come down through the dead leaves that have yet to fall. Here Jason pulls out a decaying tarp and sets up base camp. From camp, you can see all the rolling hillsides slope down into one large snake like river flowing through the mountains until it is lost in the distance. The Tennessee mountains are a treacherous terrain filled with steep drop offs and deadly trails. One can easily become lost and lose all sense of direction. According to National Institutes of Health Medicinal marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains the mind altering chemical delta 9 tetrahydrocannabino (THC) and other similar compounds such as cannabidiol (CBD). THC and CBD are the two most important ingredients in medical marijuana. Both THC and CBD have synergistic effects, but THC has the psychoactive compounds which alters the mind (NIH, 2017). Now legal in 29 states, it is being used for medical purposes such as alleviate pain, reduce seizures, and appetite stimulation. There are controversies regarding the effects of using this drug such as hallucination, intoxication, or dependence. Although there are benefits for its medical use, there are also risks involved just like in any drug. The decision is up to the individual regarding its uses. Pros There are health benefits for the use of the drug. Medicinal marijuana can help alleviate symptoms of cancer such as nausea and pain. There are animal studies that show that marijuana extracts may help kill cancer cells and slow growth of malignant cancer (NIH, 2017). It can help stimulate the appetite for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) patient, which may help improve food intake. This paper will examine the KalДЃm Cosmological Argument (KCA), demonstrating that it offers strong evidence for the existence of God, thereby providing a rational foundation for the Christian faith. Background The cosmological argument is, a family of arguments that seek to demonstrate the existence of a Sufficient Reason or First Cause of the existence of the cosmos. Historians trace an early version of the cosmological argument to Ibn SД«nДЃ (c. 980 1037), and philosophers commonly differentiate argument variations into three basic categories. Common experience and empirical evidence continually verify the causal principle, and falsification has not occurred. These considerations lead Dr. Craig to conclude, It is somewhat unwise to argue in favor of it [the first premise], for any proof of the principle is likely to be less obvious than the principle itself, and, as Aristotle remarked, one ought not to try to prove the obvious via the less obvious. Although it appears irrational to deny the first premise, some scholars have challenged the causal principle on philosophical grounds. Deriving arguments from David Hume, philosophers (such as J.L. Mackie) have sought to refute the first premise by contending there is no reason to believe the causal principle is a priori true. Contrary to their assertion, the principle of causation appears to be a synthetic a priori proposition, as it is a universal and necessary feature of both cognition and reality, providing the precondition of thought itself. Nonetheless, challenging the causal principle because it is not a priori true does nothing to invalidate the premise since the assertion does not indicate the premise is false, nor does it compel us to think the antithesis is plausible that something can truly originate from uncaused. Undeterred, such opponents further maintain that an infinite chain of contingent events could provide a sufficient explanation for the existence of the universe, even if it were void a

He wrote music for the glory of God, and to satisfy his own burning curiosity, not for future fame. During the 1700s, people knew him as a talented musician, not as a composer, as we do today. He never left his country to pursue bigger and better things. Bach was content as long as he could play music. Traditions were very important to him. He wanted to carry on the musical tradition of his family, and never opted to change the traditional ways of composing, as did most composers. Bach s work is vast and unique. Around the year 1721, Bach wrote a book of music called the Well Tempered Clavier, which was composed of 24 exercises. It had a prelude and fugue for every major and minor key. Twenty years later, he produced a second volume that was just like the first [in format]. Bach s polyphonic music is full of counterpoint, the combining of two or more melodic lines into a meaningful whole. He perfected the art of the fugue, a complex composition usually written for four musical lines. Bach s fugues involved incredibly complex melodies that, even though they started at different times, wound up sounding good together. The one I chose to describe is the first prelude and fugue from Bach s second book, in the key of C major. This piece includes a harpsichord, an ancestor to the piano. It begins with a pedal note, the low note that keeps ringing while others are played around it . In this case, the pedal note is a low C and lasts for 13 seconds. This gives the song stability, making this piece feel momentous. It s as if Bach were throwing open the big doors to some enormous building. As the song progresses, you can hear the counterpoint, including low and high notes. Once the prelude ends, there is a pause, and the fugue begins. The fugue begins with the first melody, with no accompaniment. As the first changes, the second melody is added at a slightly higher pitch. Again this

Simple machines, such as the wheel and axle, are mechanisms created to make difficult work much easier. The six simple machines consist of the inclined plane, screw, lever, pulley, wedge, and wheel and axle. Gears can be found in many household items today. For example, watches, bicycles, and pencil sharpeners. The most common object, in which gears are found, is the car. The car s steering wheel is a simple machine, called the wheel and axle. Gears however, are not found in the steering wheel, but are located in the engine. The gears are then controlled by the gear shift, which spins the gears around, causing the car to move or brake. Gears are circular objects that have teeth all around the outer rim, or just a wheel with teeth. When in movement, if a singular gear s teeth fit into a second gear, it will cause that second gear to rotate in the opposite direction of the first gear. This can then be continued by adding more gears, which in turn create a system of gears. A gear system can be used to function a machine, such as car s gear shift. This system is called a gear train. Whichever gear starts the gear train by rotating is called the driver. The final gear on the opposite end of the train is called the driven gear. Meshed Gears is a gear train of five or more gears. There are many other gear types such as Spur gears, bevel gears, worm gears, rack gears, and internal gears. All these gears are

Equal opportunities for development to all children during the period of growth should be our aim, for this would serve our larger purpose of reducing inequality and ensuring social justice. Children ought to have been the subject of prime focus of development planning, research, and welfare in India but unfortunately, it has not been so. When Domhoff presents a point, he uses several sources and logical reasons to back up his theory. For example, when relating the dominance of the political elite on the government, Domhoff examines the amount of influence the corporate rich have in our judicial system by investigating the nine Supreme Court judges during the Obama administration. He discovered that all of them graduated from one of three elite institutions: Harvard, Yale, or Columbia (Domhoff, 178, 2014). Domhoff treats most of his assertions in a similar fashion; he uses extensive research backs up his claims. The book explains the

Lawrence views her as a shameful member of Puritan society and centers his argument on her sin and its effects on the story s plot. D.H. Lawrence s use of different literary techniques strengthens his claim that Hester is not the heroine through his sarcastic tone, abrupt syntax, and biblical allusions. Lawrence incorporates a sarcastic tone in his essay to belittle the adulteress because she is not deserving of a high reputation. Hester is degraded because she is shameful to all women. Lawrence sarcastically insists that she be put upon the scaffold and worship her there (Lawrence). Since the author does not approve of Hester s adultery, he uses sarcasmso his readers can envision another side of Hester as a woman who is worthy of anything but praise. Lawrence sarcastically comments that she is being worshipped, which contrasts with Nathaniel Hawthornes judgement towards Hester who he believes plays the heroine in the novel. His sarcastic tone enables him to bring more emotion beyond the words literal meaning. In addition to Lawrence s disrespect for Hester regarding the unnecessary worship she receives in the novel, he is also sardonic when he describes her appearance. Hester s scarlet letter only represents her shameful sin of adultery in Lawrence s eyes. He speculates that the women will be envying [Hester s] sin, and beating [her] because [she s] stolen an advantage over them (Lawrence). His sarcastic tone indicates that he has no respect for any woman who commits adultery. Because Lawrence believes that it is the woman, not the man, who is at fault for the development of an unorthodox relationship, he immediately blames Hester for creating such a relationship with Dimmesdale. Lawrence will not change his opinion on Hester no matter what she does in attempt to better her reputation. Lawrence s use of abrupt syntax supports his views on Hester because it acts as a quick list of insults. Equally important, it provides the reader with direct reasons as to why Hester should be berated in the novel. Since Lawrence suspects that the complications in the novel begin with

After Caesar s death the people of Rome fed into the wrong doings of Caesar rather than the good he had done. In present day, the same outcomes happen. Someone could have an amazing reputation but do one wrongful deed and that is all anyone talks about. Everyone is quick to judge, and their excuse is because it is easier to see the bad than the good. The society as a whole ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Presidents such as Barack Obama have never had a white house scandal. Although Obama s presidency ended early 2017, his policies and him are almost obsolete to the country. Barack Obama said change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek (Barack). The quote is relevant to the one said by Mark Antony because Obama like Antony proclaimed that people change and that people are good. The sad reality is that people do not accept the change and do not care if the person has been good for 99 percent of their life, but the one time is what will be remembered
  • 54. Why Enron Became A Middle Man Company With the changing of the economy in the late 1990s, as the old millennium was ending and the new one beginning, one particular company discovered a new way to rise to the top in the trading business. Enron, originally known as a natural gas pipeline company [started by Kenneth Lay in 1985], soon became known as an energy trading corporation that bought and sold gas as well as electricity. (Fox, 1). With over 20,000 employees and 40 worldwide businesses, The Houston, TX Corporation soon became a prodigy of the times. Originally it made its profit by promising to deliver a particular amount of gas to certain businesses at market price on particular days. (O Harrow Jr.). Soon, Enronbecame a middle man company, placing it between buyers and sellers and making money off of the difference between the selling and buying prices. Their books were kept closed to each opposing party, making Enron the only one to know both prices. (O Harrow Jr.). After entering many complex and intense contracts, the corporation entered into business with Arthur Andersen, an accounting firm who handled Enron s auditing. (Fox, 6). Enron had complex services and high rising stocks. At the top of the game, Enron was a company worth about $70 billion; its stocks were trading at a rate of $90 a share, and seemed indestructible. Explanation of how Enron worked with the idea of supply and demand (Phoenix) Enron s muddy details In mid 1999, Enron s chief CFO, Andrew Fastow, set up two partnerships
  • 55. Jimmy Baker Sex Addiction Essay My name is Jimmy Baker and I am addicted to pornography. Some consider sex addiction to be an excuse for inappropriate behavior, which from the viewpoint of an outsider is a reasonable misconception. However, these outsiders are unable to comprehend the incessant craving for sexual activities. A sex addict has often been defined as a person who is obsessed with some type of sexual behavior, and whose behavior is compulsive and is continued despite significant adverse consequences (@).(Question 1) Day to day life as a sex addict consists of activities that are common to most middle aged men of this era like watching football on Sundays or taking my dog for a walk with the exception of sex dominating your waking thoughts.(Question 7) My addiction... However, what was thought to be a one time occurrence has developed into a more frequent problem. As time progressed and my dependence on pornagraphy increased, more and more of the ones I cared most for slowly began to drift further away. Doing things like attending the Sunday morning service at our local Christian churchwith my family turned into something that I dread going to. Services were no longer inspiring or impelling, but rather filled with lessons that provoked guilt and shame within myself. Sermons that target the repercussions of sexual sins now haunt me and linger in the back of my head day in and day out.(Question 4) The mere thought of my exposure as a sex addict within my church is daunting. Most people assume a sex addict means that I look forward to getting between the sheets with everyone I lay my eyes on. This assumption is what associates the stereotype that all sex addicts are rapist. Therefore, if I were to reveal my identity as one who suffers from the addiction to pornagraphy, I would never live down the relentless questions like, Are you a pedophile? or How many prostitutes do you bring home in a week? .(Question

Paper Airplane Challenges Working with a new team can be a challenging effort as is; however, working with a team who was constantly required to join other teams can place a strain on team dynamics to an even further extent. Composed of only three individuals, working effectively together was often a very difficult task for my team, as we were repeatedly obligated to join other groups throughout activities. This put pressure on not only our team but others as no one was familiar with the team dynamics of each group except for the members of that team. This was most noticeable during the paper airplane challenge and having to join another team to discuss a case study. The paper airplane activity captivated the challenges of a team as one of our group members was absent that class, and we were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As this newly formed team had to spend a portion of its time developing and maintaining the dynamics of a new team, rather than being productive and focused on the task is an example of the process loss concept of team challenges (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015) This concept of process loss then escalated as joining a group late results in a longer time spent on understanding how these new members would transition well with the current ones (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015). Combining with other groups also introduced the notion of social loafing which is defined as the process in which individuals are seemingly less motivated when working in teams and will exert less effort compared if they were working alone (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015). This concept was especially apparent for the airplane activity as we now had a team that consisted of six members, making some members feel less valued compared to others. A decrease in value then resulted which was noticeable when some individuals would not participate and others not would not put much effort into this
  • 57. Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legalized . The Same Sex Marriage Same sex marriage should be legalized The same sex marriage has been widely debated in many countries for a long time. It is an important issue because it concerns basic moral and human rights. People all over the world come to the United States in search of freedom and equality. Being able to marry anyone, no matter the gender, is a freedom of right, but if that freedom of right is taken away from people than there is no equality. Homosexual people in the United States are people that deserve freedom and equality and taking away their right to marriage is taking away their equality with the rest of Americans. Writing for the majority, Justice Anthony Kennedy states that no union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. Kennedy goes on to say that gay and lesbian couples ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right. ( Nasci1). I think this amendment protects the rights of homosexuals. Same sex marriage should be legal because all individuals have the same right in society; same sex couples can constitute a good based family. It is just a way to make official a common union nowadays,

It easily store, retrieve and manipulating data, it transmit data from one method to another method. COLLECTION FRAMEWORK: Unified architecture is used for representing and manipulating collections very easily. There are three things contains by collection framework and i.e. Interfaces Algorithms Implementations COLLECTION FRAMEWORK DIAGRAM: INTERFACES: First we like to define fundamental methods int size ( ) ; boolean empty ( ) ; boolean contains ( Object element ) ; boolean add ( Object element ) ; / / this step is optional boolean remove ( Object element ) ; / / this step is optional iterator iterator ( ) ; Second I would like to inform you that these methods are the basic behavior of a collection. The elements in the collection provide an iterator to step. ITERATOR INTERFACE: There are three fundamental methods Object next ( ) Boolean hasNext ( ) Void remove ( ) These methods are use to provide access to the content of the collection. ITERTOR POSITION: EXAMPLE OF SIMPLE COLLECTION: Public class SimCol { Public static void main ( String [ ] args ) { Collection a; a = new ArrList ( ); System.out.println ( a.hetClass ( ) .getName ( ) ) ; For ( int i=1 ; I = 10 ; i++ ) { a.add ( I + * + I + = +i*i); } Iterator ite = a.iterator ( ) ; While ( ite.hasnext ( ) ) System.out.println ( ite.next ( ) ) ; }
