What Is It for You?
The teacher will solicit
ideas or opinion about
lifestyle (eating habits,
physical activity, and
exercise). Let the students
do the activity 2 on page
5-6 of the LM.
(10 minutes)
Race to Connect.
The teacher will divide the
learners into groups. Each
group races to stand behind
the chair with the word that
they think significantly
connects weight to lifestyle.
Only one group can occupy a
chair. Groups could switch
places until the signal to stay
is given. Discuss your
group’s choice of word or
picture. Categorize your
choice is it about
nutrition/food, or physical
activity/exercise. Let them
explain the connection
between “weight” and
“lifestyle” using the different
words and pictures they have
chosen.
D. Presenting examples/
instances of the new lesson
Based on the activity above,
the teacher will ask the
following questions to the
students:

do you usually eat?
you usually eat per meal?
common in your group?
effects of these eating
habits?

identify if it is HEALTHY or
UNHEALTHY and they will
give the REASON/S about
their given answer. Then the
teacher will ask the following

Establishing a purpose for the lesson The teacher will group the class in to four (4) and ask the students to do activity no.6 “My Meal and Meal Habit Log” in LM page 35 (15 minutes) What Is It for You? The teacher will solicit ideas or opinion about lifestyle (eating habits, physical activity, and exercise). Let the students do the activity 2 on page 5-6 of the LM. (10 minutes) Race to Connect. The teacher will divide the learners into groups. Each group races to stand behind the chair with the word that they think significantly connects weight to lifestyle. Only one group can occupy a chair. Groups could switch places until the signal to stay is given. Discuss your group’s choice of word or picture. Categorize your choice is it about nutrition/food, or physical activity/exercise. Let them explain the connection
  • 3. between “weight” and “lifestyle” using the different words and pictures they have chosen. D. Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson Based on the activity above, the teacher will ask the following questions to the students: what are the types of food do you usually eat? you usually eat per meal? common in your group? effects of these eating habits? (10 minutes) Complete the semantic map by writing words associated with the theme given below. The teacher will present different practices using Flashcards/Power point Presentation regarding health practices. The learners will identify if it is HEALTHY or UNHEALTHY and they will give the REASON/S about their given answer. Then the teacher will ask the following questions: practices are considered healthy and which are unhealthy? to change our eating habits? Why? improve healthy lifestyle? Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1 The teacher will discuss to the class the value of eating habits on Pages 36-38 LM and pages 42-43 on TG. (20 minutes) (See attached tool) The teacher will discuss on the general guidelines in conducting PFT (e.g., reminders on safety measures; time management; accurate recording of results; etc.) to maintain healthy lifestyle. (see attachments PFT MANUAL) Individual students should have their own PFT The teacher will discuss the Lifestyle, Weight and Managing It. (LM pages 11-15) (15 minutes) Answer the following questions in your activity notebook. 1. What are the different strength training exercises? Provide the significance of each strength training activity to the body. 2. In strength training, what is the difference between prep and set?

(5 minutes) The speech of the learners will be assessed using the Rubric for Short Speech. Below is the list of work- out exercises. Perform each work-out exercise and fill out the table with the number of reps and sets you were able to perform.
