COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
because they need to gain the ability to think in an abstract
manner, the ability to combine and classify items in a more
sophisticated way, and the capacity for higher-order reasoning.
The pupils must be operational thinkers able to ponder
different solutions to a problem before acting.
 Student Diversity
Which include gender, race, attitude/behavior,
learning styles, etc.
 Teaching Pedagogy
Used by my cooperating teacher suited on the range
of pupils’ abilities.
 Instructional Materials
Which material elicit high responses.
 Assessment Tools
It should exhibit the properties of assessment;
validity, reliability, efficiency, practicality.
 Values Integration
One of the important part of the lesson where a
teacher can integrate good values and proper behavior.

I still have to overcome my fears because…
it obstructs me to perform my highest potential. I still have apprehensions
when delivering my lesson to the pupils even if I’m ready. When it’s my time
to teach, my self-confidence and self-esteem weaken. Especially when my
cooperating teacher is inside the class observing on how I would perform, still
having this kind of awkward feeling.
“We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger
and more confident. As soon as we overcome our fears, we can face any
unexpected challenge that may rise along our ways in teaching”.

FS 7 Episode 2: My First Day Jitters

  • 1.   • 2. I should follow and obey her advice, accept criticisms and suggestions with regards in my teaching. I must be open- minded for whatever situations arise regarding my performance as her student teacher. Cooperating teachers are another group of adults in my life who can look out for me, guide me and provide me with an adult perspective. These people are willing to answer questions, offer advice, and help with my personal problems and future career too. The non-teaching staff is part of the institution. To get along with them, I should respect and build a good relationship and provide assistant when needed.
  • 3. Write on the suitcase, the cooperating teacher’s expectations that you need to fully understand during your practicum days to establish better relationships. Likewise, I also have expectations that I need to convey to my cooperating teacher in order that my needs are also understood/ met.
  • 4. 1. In the observation phase, I need to focus on the following: 2. I fully realized that I need to read more on the developmental stages of: COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT because they need to gain the ability to think in an abstract manner, the ability to combine and classify items in a more sophisticated way, and the capacity for higher-order reasoning. The pupils must be operational thinkers able to ponder different solutions to a problem before acting.  Student Diversity Which include gender, race, attitude/behavior, learning styles, etc.  Teaching Pedagogy Used by my cooperating teacher suited on the range of pupils’ abilities.  Instructional Materials Which material elicit high responses.  Assessment Tools It should exhibit the properties of assessment; validity, reliability, efficiency, practicality.  Values Integration One of the important part of the lesson where a teacher can integrate good values and proper behavior. ACTIVE COOPERATIVE HELPFUL COURTEOUS BEHAVE

  • 6. Check () only one (1) circle and explain your answer: This day I fully realized that… I still have to overcome my fears because… it obstructs me to perform my highest potential. I still have apprehensions when delivering my lesson to the pupils even if I’m ready. When it’s my time to teach, my self-confidence and self-esteem weaken. Especially when my cooperating teacher is inside the class observing on how I would perform, still having this kind of awkward feeling. “We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger and more confident. As soon as we overcome our fears, we can face any unexpected challenge that may rise along our ways in teaching”. I am really meant for the teaching profession because… I still have other options because… The place was all good. We meet our critic teachers. As for their schedule of activities, a lot of them is to happen during our stay as interns. I know there would be challenges as we go through the real-world practice in teaching. It made me feel anxious as to what might happen in the coming days, weeks, months during our practicum.
