From Fiber to Wireless (and back) - Enablers for Collaboration
SURFnet provides advanced networking services to the Dutch research and education community, including a high performance fiber optic network connecting over 180 institutions. SURFnet also offers authentication, authorization, and collaboration tools. Trends include increasing data and computational needs from science, as well as a need for integrated e-infrastructure to provide seamless access to computing, storage, sensors, and network resources across multiple domains and locations. Modern research requires close collaboration between resource providers and users to create this environment.
