Increase the level of excellence of ICT research across an Enlarged Europe in
the ICT Challenge 1 theme “'Pervasive and Trustworthy Network and Service
Infrastructures”, focusing on Enterprise Interoperability (EI), Enterprise Software
Applications (ESA), and the novel research domains of the “Future of the
Internet”, and by promoting active secondment of research teams and
strengthening cooperation in community supported research.

3. Detailed Objectives
• Enable access to state of the art research in the areas of the ICT Challenge 1
themes, i.e. “Future of the Internet”
• Provide the means for secondment and networking activities among EU funded
research projects and other research teams, across the enlarged Europe, i.e., PhD +
post-graduate students, RTD from industry
• Promotion of UNITE to the wider community, to seek their engagement on
secondment, and involvement in the cooperation activities
• Elaboration of a plan to widen the participation of enlarged Europe in community ICT
research projects, e.g., ensure a post project cooperation and the pursuit of the
secondment and cooperation actions
• Monitor and provide financial, administrative and social support to secondment
