A Study On Australian Indigenous Art
Another aspect of Australia is its art. There are many type of art present in Australia, but one in
particular is Australian Indigenous art, which is the oldest ongoing tradition of art in the world. Initial
forms of artistic Aboriginal expression were rock carvings, body painting and ground designs, which
date back more than 30,000 years. After Australia was colonized the sale of artifacts occurred between
indigenous and non indigenous people on a widespread basis throughout south eastern Australia. The
quality and variety of Australian Indigenous art produced today reflects the richness and diversity of
Indigenous culture and the distinct differences between tribes, such as languages, dialects and
geographic landscapes. Art is an important part of Aboriginal life because it connects past and present,
the people and the land, and the supernatural and reality. Indigenous art now ranges over different
mediums, from works on paper and canvas to fibre and glass, because of the introduction of these
sources to the Aborigines in 1970 by a school teacher. The result was a flourishing art movement
throughout the Western Desert that stimulated an arts industry that now generates around $200 million
a year nationally. This benefits Australia s economy and is one way they are involved globally.
Australia is a multi cultural society with its population of 22 million made up from heavy migration
from Europe, especially from Greece, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Yugoslavia, Lebanon,

The Significance Of The Four Noble Practices In Western...
1. Various things echo practices in Western religion. The Noble Eightfold Path for instance, echoes the
Ten Commandments of the Christianity. They both instruct people on what and whatnot to do, and
give them a guideline for everyday life. For example, the Noble Eightfold path instructs people to
have Right Conduct, which is similar to the Ten Commandments saying not to kill or steal. The Four
Noble Truths tell about the evils of the World and how to avoid them, just like the Bible. Also, the
Bible tells Christians how to please God and eventually reach Heaven, just as the Four Noble Truths
leads Buddhists to Nirvana. Buddha tells the Bhikkhus, Since I possessed, O Bhikkhus, with perfect
purity this true knowledge and insight into theses four Noble Truths . . . I had obtained the highest,
universal Sambodhi . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think Buddha rejected their ascetic practices because they were too extreme. He knows that humans
can t be healthy and alert if they are deprived of food or sleep. Buddha realizes someone won t
become a better person or reach enlightenment by restricting their body from the basic necessities of
life. Buddha tells the Bhikkhus Neither abstinence from fish or flesh, nor going naked . . . will cleanse
a man who is not free from delusions . Most ascetics would deprive their bodies of food and sleep, and
some of them would even practice self mortification. The Middle Way is a balance between asceticism
and over indulgence in the pleasures of the World. It allows a person to eat, drink, and sleep according
to their needs. Buddha states that the Middle Path Keeps aloof from both

Anxiety disorders are a common emotional disorder, with APA identifying six types of anxiety

Solovay et al. (1986) concluded that Thought Disorder Index for the Rorschach (TDIR) is a valid
indicator of thought disorder in schizophrenic and borderline patients. Similarly Jorgensen et al.
(2000) concluded that the CS Schizophrenia Index (SCZI) effectively discriminates between psychotic
and non psychotic patients.
Reliability of TAT
Inter rater Reliability. The reliability of TAT indexes has been a longstanding bugbear for proponents
of these techniques. Fineman (1977) found that the inter rater reliabilities have typically been in the
.80 to .90 range. Yet Entwisle (1973) concluded on the basis of numerous published studies that the
internal consistency of the McClelland et al. (1953) scoring scheme (as measured by Cronbach s
alpha) rarely exceeded .30 to .40.
Test retest reliability: The test retest reliabilities of TAT based achievement indexes over intervals of
several weeks have generally been in the .30 range. Winter Stewart (1977) contended that the low test
retest reliabilities of TAT based need indexes are artifactual as subjects believe that they have to create
different stories.

Benefits Of A Pillow Talk
Pillow Talk: Does your sleep routine have you feeling hot? If there is one place we are all a little
peculiar it is in our bedtime routine. Some of us need our blankets tucked a certain way into the

Impact Of Computer In Medicine And Medicine
Computers and Medicine
Technology is vital to society in today s age and it affects almost every single thing that goes on in a
person s daily life. I believe technology has spread to nearly every field, even if it is a minor use of it.
Transportation, conversation, banking, and even working places have some sort of technology with it
now. But what is going to be discussed in this Wiki is the impact that technology and computers have
made with medicine and healthcare.
The creation of technology changed the way healthcare is being received, and even organized. The
introduction of electronic medical records, to finding cures that humans thought would not be
possible, healthcare has changed right in front of everyone s eyes. Let s discuss what exactly a
computer is and how technology is changing in the field of healthcare and medicine.
What is a computer?
According to dictionary.com, a computer is a programmable device that reads data, performs
calculations, and outputs the results of the data.
How are computers used by doctors to deal with medical efforts?
In today s age, computers help patients and the hospital communicate together for reasons, such as
booking appointments at home or in office, sending medical prescriptions to pharmacy, or just in
house communication between doctors and nurses. The introduction of electronic medical records has
allowed doctors and nurses to get rid of paper work and have all electronic documents for easier
access and storage. Many

The United States And The Sharing Economy
The United States has serious labor market challenges as a result of rising wage inequality between
people and the slow middle class wage growth. The need to provide individuals with variety of goods,
service and information raise specific economic phenomena called sharing economy . This model of
economy includes different types of industry categories: sharing information (YouTube), property
(Airbnb), transportation (Uber) and more. The sharing economy works in the same way as a
traditional market, where individuals exchange different goods and service. The central concept of
sharing economy (collaborative consumption) is the access to the goods. The application of regulation
is the major issue with this type of innovated economy. The sharing economy is a nontraditional,
because the workers luck of benefits and the type of economical market system that creates an income
and job opportunity. On the other hand this type of market provides a different type of benefits as:
flexible schedule and employment; saving energy and less waste; self regulation; lower costs of the
product. The context is of a great interest since participation in sharing communities and services is
characterized by obligation to do good for other people and for the environment, such as sharing, and
engaging in sustainable behavior (Prothero et al, 2011). The challenge of any market includes and
market of sharing economy is to ensure the supply and demand. Specifically for the sharing market is

360 Degree Photography Affordances and Constraints
Media has changed vastly over the decades. We have different styles of media, different ways to view
media, and so many different options when it comes to creating media. A recent technology that has
started to gain traction is 360 degree photography. This new technology allows people to view more
than traditional 2 D perspective. With this new way of being able to capture a scene comes many
affordances and constraints.
Being able to capture everything around you, then allow another person to experience entirely the
same scene is something that has never been able to be done before. The technology for 360 degree
photography is most likely early in its development. That being ... Show more content on

Having devices that allow us to put on a headpiece and be put into another reality is a huge step for
media.
With these devices, unfortunately, come many constraints. The content creator has more options for
what the viewer can see, but at the same time it may not be what they want the viewer to see. In most
forms of media today there is a main point that the viewer is observing. 2 D perspective video creators
are able to change perspectives of how the viewer sees the media, but with 360 degrees the viewer
may not see it in the same way the original creator intended. The viewer may even miss main points
entirely because they were looking around and the main point of a video was behind them. On top of
this the viewer may not even be able to watch the video. Many people report nausea when watching
videos in 360 degrees. If there is not a way to ensure people do not feel sick while watching the
videos, that means that this media will be limited by the number of people who are able to tolerate it.
Being able to create the quality of content that is currently available on 2 D platforms may be difficult
could also be an issue. Movie shoots require a lot of people and equipment, which is all behind the
camera when only shooting one perspective. In a 360 movie you have to make sure you are capturing
the things you want and nothing more. There is most likely going to be more work creating

Wordsworth, considered the greatest Romantic poet. Going against traditional poetry with his good
friend Coleridge which was proper style, proper words, with subject matter. They defied it the used
witty figures of speech, effusive praise with tragic complaints, oh the audacity. Since they did this

Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey or for short Tintern Abbey. This poem is about
Wordsworth s trip after 5 long years back to an old, abandoned Abbey in Wales with his sister
Dorothy. He tells us about the present of being there, to the past when he first came to this abandoned
Abbey, back to the present talking to his sister about it and the future. ... Show more content on

emotionless beings which would be horrible and just not human (who wants to be a robot anyway?).
This Abbey brings out the feelings of peace and just all joy and this relief of being here once again as
he had before. This is important because he describes what this old worn down abandoned Abbey
makes him feel, like no other place has done before. Everyone has feeling whether or not they like it it
s what makes us different from robots. He goes into great detail about how this Abbey makes him feel
and he hopes that this Abbey has the same effect with his sister that it brings some sort of peace to her

Effects Of Treaty Of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was signed by Germany and the allied powers, which consisted of the United
Kingdom, France, Italy, and the United States, on 28th June 1919, in the hall of mirrors, effectively
ending World War One (WW1) after an armistice of seven months . This treaty established the League
of Nations and decided the repercussions that Germany would have to pay for instigating the war.
Some of these repercussions were demilitarization, losing ten percent of its overall land and other
financial obligations. These repercussions humiliated Germany and turned the allies against
themselves. This paper will focus on how the Treaty of Versailles caused more problems than it solved
by causing resentment between Germany and the rest of Europe ... Show more content on

Meaning that this treaty was based on what the allies thought Germany should pay without letting
them have any say in the overall result. This treaty was put together by the big three, Britain, France
and America. Other allies were hardly involved and no defeated states were included, making the
Treaty of Versailles a treaty among the allies, not between Germany and the allies. There were
originally plans to include Germany but seeing how the treaty was hastily put together and the allies
were having a hard time compromising amongst themselves the idea to include Germany in
negotiations was soon forgotten. This complicated matters since there was not a sense of defeat among
the German people because no soldier had made it into Germany unless that soldier was German or a
prisoner of war and some thought their army to be undefeated . It just worsened the relationships

campaigning to be elected by their parties in the primaries and then continues right to the run up into
November for the actual voting for president. All along the way the public are bombarded with slander

Rabies Is A Real Threat And Should Not Be Taken Lightly
Are you worried about catching a disease from your pet or another animal? If not, then you should be!
Rabies is a very real threat and should not be taken lightly. It is a zoonotic disease that can affect any
warm blooded creature, even the cute little bunnies. It is a highly infectious disease. Rabies is spread
through saliva and nervous system (CNS) tissue and is caused by the rhabdovirus. A simple lick from
your favorite pet or even a bite from any infected animal can give you this disease. Rabies is most
commonly seen in unvaccinated strays and wild life carrying the disease, such as foxes, raccoons,
skunks, and bats. Knowing all of the clinical signs, how the disease progresses, and your treatment
and prevention options is very important when you could be exposed to this deadly disease. Rabies is
almost always fatal and noticing the clinical signs of an infected animal just might save your life and
help you avoid exposure. Rabies infected patients may exhibit a rapid progression of neurological
signs such as cerebral dysfunction, anxiety, confusion, agitation, and abnormal behavior. Delirium,
hallucination and insomnia may also be noticed with this disease. Infected individuals may also
exhibit an itching sensation at the site of the bite wound, a fever, headache, weakness or discomfort,
and excessive salivation (foaming at the mouth) ( Clinical Signs of Rabies in Animals, 2011). If you
believe that you or your pet has been exposed to another animal

The Epic Of Gilgamesh And Analysis
The Epic of Gilgamesh Summary and analysis Introduction The Epic of Gilgamesh is an excerpt of
the original text of the Epic listed in the Sources of the Western Tradition , 5th edition, by Perry, Peden
and Von Laue (2003). The Epic of Gilgamesh is the story of King Gilgamesh who is the powerful king
of Uruk, the incidents in his life, the associations he makes, the encounters he has, and the transition
that occurs in his life in relation to his gaining knowledge of the mortality of human life. The story
further outlines the transformation that Gilgamesh gets with respect to his outlook after the traumatic
death of his friend Enkidu, which makes him to embark on a quest for eternity. Gilgamesh subjects the
people in his kingdom to hard rule. The Gods create Enkidu to counter him. Friendship develops
between Enkidu and Gilgamesh and together they launch adventures for conquests together. In the
process, they kill the terrible monster, Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. For this, they incur the wrath
of Gods, who decide to put an end to the life of Enkidu. Enkidu gets a dream about his impending
death and dies after suffering for a few days with sickness. The death of Enkidu shatters Gilgamesh
who wants to immortalize himself by escaping death. He goes in search of Utnapishtim, who is
blessed with immortality by the Gods. Utnapishtim tells him that death is inevitable for a human and
immortality is impossible to achieve. The Epic of

Sample Of Social License In The University Of Michigan...
Last week, we created a possible method to generate 500 gigawatt hours of electricity each year
through solar panels on the University of Michigan s property. However, this scenario did not take into
account the principle of social license the social license has been defined as existing when a project
has the ongoing approval within the local community and other stakeholders, ongoing approval or
broad social acceptance and, most frequently, as ongoing acceptance. In re examining these old
scenarios it was clear they would not achieve social license. In the best case scenario, both the
Arboretum and the University of Michigan golf course were used to create solar arrays. However, due
to the amount of planning and care that goes into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is possible that closing one golf course would be possible, and only receive minimal backlash from
disappointed golfers. In both scenarios every rooftop and parking lot were covered with solar panels
as these would take no effort to achieve support of from the community. Some wooded areas near
North Campus were also converted in both cases, with the most controversial probably be the areas
surround the Northwood apartments, as these residents may especially enjoy and hope to preserve this
area. In the best case scenario, the U of M golf course was transformed into a solar array, however in
total these placements of solar arrays only generated 413 gigawatt hours per year, leaving ~87
gigawatt hours that would need to be generated in a different manner. In the worst case scenario,
Radrick s Farm golf course was transformed into a solar array. Again, this was not enough to generate
the full 500 gigawatt hours per year, but left only 25 gigawatt hours to be generated by alternative
sources. Best case scenario: Worst case scenario:
As outlined, transferring to solar energy to power all of the University of Michigan s electrical needs
is not feasible. However, it may still be possible to power the entire university with a mix of
renewables. One of the main downfalls of solar is the fact that it is only productive during the day,
leaving the need for either storage of energy for

were criticized and their families started receiving death threats. Smith and Carlos ended their
Olympic careers but they both played in the NFL for a short period of time. Smith became a coach and
is now a public speaker. Carlos stopped sports due to a bad knee injury which prevented him from
continuing. He hit hard times when his ex wife committed suicide and he went into a state of
depression. He became a school counselor in 2012. Norman raced a few more times but then called it

human rights, he was the symbol for all others that need to help minority groups get justice. He was a

Archaeology is the study of the ancient past, through the recovery and analysis of material culture.
During the development of archaeology, various different kinds of scientific techniques have been
established to aid in archaeological investigation. Recent archaeological techniques and processes
such as Scanning Electron Microscopy, Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) and Radiocarbon Dating are
utilised to help better understand a civilisation, specifically the site of Lindow Man. These modern
methods have supported in recognizing Lindow Man s identity and important information regarding

Encyclopaedia Britannica also states that it is proved to be a versatile technique of dating fossils and
archaeological specimens from 500 to 50,000 years old (1998). This method of age determination is
dependent upon the decay of nitrogen and radiocarbon (Carbon 14) (Encyclopaediea Britannica, 1998;
Opinions of Radiocarbon Dating, 2011). Carbon 14 is continually formed in nature by the interaction
of neutrons with nitrogen 14 in the Earth s atmosphere (Encyclopaediea Britannica, 1998; Opinions of
Radiocarbon Dating, 2011) and all living things exchange the gas carbon 14 with the atmosphere
surrounding them. The amount of carbon 14 exchanged into the living organism is perfectly balanced
with its surroundings, but when an organism dies, they stop taking in the gas and that equilibrium is
damaged. Because Carbon 14 slowly decays at a known rate called its half life in a dead organism,
scientists can figure out how long ago it had stopped exchanging carbon with its atmosphere. Thus, its
age can be determined by measuring the amount of Carbon 14 in a sample (Hirst, 2017; Opinions of
Radiocarbon Dating, 2017; Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit Research Laboratory for
Archaeology, n.d.; Earthsky, 2017; Cram, 1993). With the utilisation of Radiocarbon Dating, scientists
have been able to discover that Lindow

Lower Body Adaptations For Power Lifting ( Squats )
Lower Body Adaptations to Power Lifting (Squats) Power is arguably the most important attribute for
an athlete. Specifically, it is most important for an athlete participating in a high intensity, anaerobic
sport. Anaerobic power is defined as the rate of energy release by cellular metabolic processes that
function without the involvement of oxygen. (Kenney 212) Having the ability to generate more power
means you will be able to like run faster, change direction quicker, and jump higher. Training for
power will have a much bigger impact on the athletes ability than just training for strength. Power
training will more than likely involve more complicated movements that must be done at a fast pace to
reach maximum results. Power is defined as the rate of performing work, thus the product of force and
velocity. (Kenney 211) Strength on the other hand, is just the maximum force the muscles are able to
produce. For example, if you have two athletes that squat the same weight, they both have the same
amount of strength, however if one of the athletes is able to perform that lift faster than the other, that
athlete has more power. With that being said, it is still important to also train for strength because
gains in power are only possible if you are making gains in strength through resistance training as
well. It is important to focus your training on the muscle groups and movements that are most alike
the type of sport you are playing. In most cases, the core and lower body

If it weren t for x rays, how would doctors be able to detect abnormalities within a patient? The x ray
was accidently discovered by physicist Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895. He discovered it when he was
experimenting with electric flow currents in a cathode ray tube and saw a piece of barium
platinocyanide giving off light while he was working with the tube. His theory was that when the
electrons of the cathode ray tube hits the wall of the tube an unknown radiation, went across the room
and hit the chemical, and then caused a fluorescence.(paraphrase, Encyclopedia Britannica). Also, he
thought since he couldn t find any light refraction or things similar to light, that this new found thing
was unrelated to light. He named it X Radiation, this is also known as Rontgen Radiation. (Fun fact:
Roentgen can be spelled without the first e.) Rontgen also experimented further and learned that

The Legal And Political Systems
Introduction It is noteworthy that the legal and political systems are fundamentally different in the first
place due to the diverse perspectives of the world, and they have developed into two separate entities
with their own purposes and model in the society. Therefore, it is unlikely that they share common
philosophy and practices. However, like most other disciplines in the society, sometimes law and
politics overlap to achieve a common goal, sometimes they complement each other and at other times,
they contradict each other. For example, the differentiation of adversaries has no ground in the law and
politics dominates over the rule of law when this occurs. Therefore, the goals, philosophy and

Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Charlotte Gilman is one of the most important women in history. Charlotte was given that chance in
life to show the women that they don t have to be told to do nothing. She helps others realize that they
are capable of achieving something more in life. Charlotte Gilman had strong morals, a determination
to help others, a sympathetic mind to connect with others, and solid achievements over the span of her
career.
Motivation
Her motivations were mostly based on her background and life experiences. Charlotte was depressed
when she had her first child. She had went looking for help and went to a famous physician that told

were being victimized by a prejudicial society that compelled some women to work, and

of the writings that Charlotte wrote called Herland. This novel is based on a utopian society with just
women.
All those women were able to take care of themselves without any men. The writing helped people
recognize that women are much more capable of doing other things other than just childbearing and
domestic household chores. Charlotte Perkins Gilman has gone through many experiences and doesn t

Write An Essay On ALS Research Papers
Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease. It is a disease which involves the
degeneration of motor neurons. Not only does it degrade the motor neurons, It also degenerates the
corticospinal neurons of the motor cortex. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrigs disease. This name
came about after a New York Yankees baseball player developed this disorder and died from it in
1936. ALS is a heterogenous disorder. Multiple genetic factors contribute to the onset of ALS. More
than 20 genes are known to have a role to play in ALS pathogenesis. In most cases of ALS, the disease
is not hereditary. The cause of ALS is still unknown. A small amount of cases are made up of a few
hereditary forms of ALS. ALS has two meanings. It can refer to multiple adult onset conditions which
are characterized by the degeneration of motor neurons. In the UK, Motor neuron disease is the term
used to describe these disorders. Also, ALS refers to a specific form of motor neuron disease. This

A disease of the corticospinal tract causes the scarring of the lateral columns. The corticospinal tract
carrys axons of premotor cells from the cortex to the spinal cord. Symptoms usually start as painless
weakness to the arms and legs. The patient usually discovers that they struggle to carry out fine
movements of the hands. This is due to the wasting of the small muscles of the hands and feet. ALS is
progressive and can ultimately start to affect respiration. ALS is mainly restricted to the motor
neurons. Sensory neurons and autonomic neurons are not affected by this disease. In the last 10 years,
the awareness of ALS has significantly increased which has lead to diagnosis being made much
quicker. Overall care is now much better but a therapeutic agent has not been found. There is no

Work Life Balance Is Dead By Isabel Rimanoczy Summary
Ms. Isabel Rimanoczy made great points in this article. Though some may view her as a work body,
she and I share a mutual understanding when it comes to work life balance. Ms. Rimanoczy is not
buying the idea that there is some sort of balance between the two aspects of our lives. Work life
balance is dead and it may be a good thing (Rimanoczy, 2015). I agree with her statement because if
anyone takes the time to think about it, they will soon come to terms with the idea that it really
becomes impossible to separate work and personal life. Some of us grow up with moral values,
standards, and family traditions carried on through religious beliefs. When we go to work we will
bring along our character because our personal life defines us as

PLN Reflection
When looking at the scope of my personal learning network (PLN) I am realizing that it is much larger
than I initially thought, however I do feel it could and will grow exponentially as I advance in my
career. Currently, at the core of my PLN would be my 2nd grade teaching team that I work alongside
daily. This is comprised of 4 other teachers; one an intervention specialist, and other generalist
teachers in 2nd grade. To expand this, our current building hosts Kindergarten 5th grade, with at least
4 teachers in each grade level. I would also consider all of these teachers, as well as support staff to be
a part of my direct PLN. I attend meetings, professional development and training with these
individuals. I also connect with them on a daily basis in regards to educating our students. In ... Show

Our district also receives updates and professional development through State Support Team 9 (SST9),

few websites for professional learning and networking. The first would be Pinterest. I typically search
Pinterest for classroom ideas, but also use this website on a personal level. In conjunction with
Pinterest, I use the website TeachersPayTeachers to purchase lesson ideas and resources. The reason I
feel that this website should be added to my PLN, is because all of the sellers on TeachersPayTeachers

TeachersPayTeachers, and teaching blogs into one cohort, because typically searching through one of
these mediums will lead me to another. Another online resource I use professionally would be

Pecola is a little black ugly girl as Morrison states in the book The Bluest Eye. In Pecola s society she

Consciousness Is A Wide Topic That Spans Many Different...
Lane McTaggart Psychology Keith Stovall November 16, 2016 Consciousness Consciousness is a
broad topic that spans many different schools of thought. Its role in the early evolution of animals
would be more related to biology than psychology. However, the role in consciousness plays in how
the human brain operates would be of great importance in psychology. In this paper certain topics
central to understanding consciousness will be discussed. What consciousness is and rather its more
than just biochemistry. Where did consciousness originates and what role did it play in evolution. The
functions that consciousness provide will be discussed, and the benefits that consciousness gives us, as
humans, will be as well. How consciousness is intertwined with being human. Also a look into

and interesting subject to discuss. We have to ask ourselves, what is consciousness? Consciousness is
more than cellular chemistry. (perlis 99) Consciousness is not fully explainable or describable by the
molecular chemistry of the brain to many researchers. Our understanding of consciousness is
intertwined with our understanding to be human in a lot of ways. Being without consciousness is
indescribable. (perlis99) So intertwined that we are not able to fully understand how to begin to look
at the world without consciousness. Pure consciousness may not exist. (perlis99) Perlis states

Homelessness Under The Mckinney Vento Homelessness...
Homelessness is one of the oldest problems that exist, fast forward almost 40 years since it s been
recognized as one and still there has been no avail to finding a real solution. The definition of
homelessness under the McKinney Vento Homelessness Assistance Act is defined as an individual:
who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence; and a person who has a nighttime
residence that is supervised publicly or privately operated shelter, and c) an institution that provides a
temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized, or a private or public place not
designed for, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings.
Homelessness is basically another form of poverty except more extreme, yet society treats it as if it
was on another spectrum of problems. Some in society stigmatize this population by saying things
like: they re homeless because they are drug addicts, alcoholics, they don t want to work and just live
off the government for free. What many forget to think about are the factors that have these people on
the street, or the fact that they are not only experiencing personal hardship by being without a
permanent residence but emotional ones as well. Add the fact they are sometimes discriminated
against and excluded by society, and you will realize you are looking at one of the most vulnerable
populations.
This homelessness population consists of people from all age groups: infants, children, adolescents,
adulthood, and the

Game Theory Essay
Game Theory was said to have been introduced by Emile Borel in 1921. Borel was a French
mathematician who published papers on the theory of games. From this standpoint and according to
the article Game Theory , Borel could have been named the first mathematician to envision an
organized system for playing games however; evidence has shown that Borel did not develop his ideas
any further. This is the reason why most historians have given credit to John Von Neumann.
Von Neumann was born in 1903 in Budapest, Hungary. His first mathematical paper was published,
along with the help of his tutor, when he was 18. Von Neumann went on to study mathematics in
college and eventually earned his PhD in mathematics with a minor in both physics and ... Show more

In Game Theory Models and Methods , the prisoner s dilemma is said to be the most widely known
example of game theory. This dilemma was invented by Albert Tucker of Princeton University in
1950. In this dilemma, one is to imagine two people arrested under suspicion of having committed a
crime together. The police do not have sufficient evidence to convict the criminals. They are placed in
two separate rooms and the police visit each suspect, offering a deal. The deal is basically, whoever
gives up evidence on the other person will go free. If neither suspect takes the offer, they are working
against the police and both will receive a small punishment because of lack of evidence. Both suspects
appeared to have won because neither took the offer, but were given a small punishment. However, if
one suspect takes the offer and betrays the other, the one who gave up the evidence will gain more
because he will be set free and the one who remained quiet will get the full punishment. However, if
both suspects betray each other, they will both receive punishment. From this example, we learn that
each suspect was given a choice between only two options, but cannot make a good decision without
knowing what the other one will do (Game Theory Models and Methods). This strategy is still used
today not only be police officers and detectives, but it is also used in some of the criminal television
shows,

The Cultural Diversity Self Assessment
Nursing continues to strive towards excellence in delivering culturally competent healthcare. Through
this journey of excellence, improvements can be made by continued education and awareness.
Awareness of areas I need growth in builds on my existing knowledge and skills. In this paper, I will
identify areas of weaknesses and strengths in my cultural competency skills as well as strategies that
will improve my transcultural nursing care. I have identified these areas using the Cultural Diversity
Self Assessment. Achieving a total score of 104, this tool has allowed me to target my weaknesses and
create a plan to increase my competence in those areas. I have also been able to identify my strengths
in cultural competence.
The self assessment tool specially evaluated my personal culturally competent abilities. Two areas of
weaknesses I targeted are as follows:
1. The appreciation of other cultures and honoring their holidays and events.
2. I believe there are policies and practices in place that negatively impact people outside the majority
culture.
I regard my own culture as the correct and moral way of life. These pervasive beliefs led to the lower
scores in these areas. My unconscious beliefs are imposed on my day to day life, including my
professional life. Critical thinking requires a nurse to be open minded, she must question everything
and assume nothing. When a bias exists it clouds these thinking skills, opinions are developed based
on beliefs, instead of

The Respiratory Systems function is to supply the body with oxygen and excrete carbon dioxide .The
respiratory system has many different parts, these include the nasal cavity, epiglottis, larynx, trachea,
bronchi, lungs, bronchioles, alveoli, ribs, intercostal muscle and diaphragm.
Nasal cavity

Muscles
Muscles control the process of inhaling and exhaling. The intercostal muscles contract and move the
ribcage up and out while the diaphragm contracts, this increases the pressure inside the thoracic cavity
which causes oxygen to drawn in. when the intercostal muscles relax and move the ribcage down and
in and the diaphragm relaxes, this decreases the pressure inside the thoracic cavity which expels the
carbon dioxide.
Blood
Oxygen enters the blood stream through diffusion in the lungs, the oxygen is carried throughout the
body in the haemoglobin contained in the red blood cells. Carbon Dioxide is carried throughout the
body in the plasma of the blood and leaves the body by diffusion in the lungs.

Art Museum Analysis
When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically
feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to
take your time and examine every detail each work has to offer. It gives you no other choice but to
give your full, undivided attention to one piece at a time. The way this museum was designed made it
so I almost forgot about the rest of my day. Where I had to be later, what class I had, when I had to be
in for work, all of those everyday thoughts and worries seemed to disappear when walking through
those doors.
The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole s piece caught my eye due to
the simplicity of it. He took something as simple as a landscape and made it extremely detailed and
organic. If you take the time to look closely you can almost see where he made each individual brush

background seems to be the most muted part of the piece whereas the middle ground really grabs your
attention with its vibrant colors. Cole uses yellow and muted brown to pop against the hues of green in
the trees. These pops of color among the tree scape really make this the focal point of the piece. The
foreground offers a very earthy feel with a simplistic pasture. Broken colors of green and brown are
used to display the ongoing naturalistic feel this work displays. Towards the right of the piece you can

Keng s Reaction To Urras In The Dispossessed By Ursula Leguin

perception of the state of the Earth at the time she was writing The Dispossessed. and the Earthlings

from her reaction to Urras, that life on Earth in her time is terrible. Throughout the book, the reader is

than life on Urras or Anarres. Like Shevek, Keng is an outsider on Urras: We are both aliens here,
Shevek. (347). Both hail from different foreign planets and are therefore removed from the culture of
Urras. But despite this shared experience, they have vastly different views of the planet. Shevek

philosophy of the planet centered on profit and possession is at odds with Shevek s most basic beliefs

qualities he sees are valuable, such as brotherhood and compassion. For example, he compares Urras

Organs are more viable when they are taken from a body that was continually pumping blood and
nutrients up until the harvest. In past years, movies and media have portrayed medical professionals
harvesting organs from living or brain active people. While this is just an exaggeration playing on
most people s common fears, it is not a total misinterpretation. The organ market is in dire need of
healthy, fresh organs and since demand is higher than supply a group of people are being
discriminated against when it comes to receiving organs they need. The number of waitlisted patients
over 65 years of age has tripled. Unfortunately, the transplant wait‐list has increased far more quickly
than the supply of deceased‐donor kidneys (Curtis). This increase of older patients in need of kidneys
leads to medial professionals making independent utilitarian judgements on who deserves them most.
The nation s organ transplant network is considering giving younger, healthier people preference over
older, sicker patients for the best kidneys. Instead of giving priority primarily to patients who have
been on the waiting list longest, the new rules would match recipients and organs to a greater extent
based on factors such as age and health to try to maximize the number of years provided by each

Theme Of Allusion In Grass And English Con Salsa
History and Allusion in grass and English con salsa According to Kennedy and Dana, an allusion is
where a person, place or thing is referred to indirectly, either by text or as an illustration (Kennedy and
Dana 408). When allusions are used in a poem, it is assumed that the poet and the reader share a
common body of knowledge. The poems grass by Carl Sandburg and English con salsa by Gina
Valdès are both similar in the sense that they both employ allusions in their narratives. Furthermore,
the allusions in these poems discusses history and reflecting on the role of a person in history. The
poem grass has five allusions which are Austerlitz, Waterloo, Gettysburg, Ypres, and Verdun. On the
other hand, English con salsa alludes to Xochicalco, Tuxpan River, Benito Juarez, George
Washington, Donald Duck, Batman, Teocaltiche, Uruapàn, Oaxacan, Juchitàn, Zapotec, Nahuatl,
Santa Tristeza, Santa Alegria, Santo Todolopuede, Lake Pàtzcuaro, Jalisco, Santee, and La Jolla.
Interestingly, both poems discuss renowned history through the illusions. In grass, line 1 in the first
stanza states that Pile the bodies high at Austerlitz and Waterloo (Sandburg 126). The use of the word
Austerlitz points out to the historic Battle of Austerlitz. Historically, the Battle of Austerlitz occurred
in 1805 involving armies from French, Austria, and Russia. There was a high number of casualties in
the battle, which the phrase discusses by stating pile the bodies high (Sandburg 126). Similarly,

Accused In The Crucible
Topic/Question: What are the dangers of making accusations without proper regard for evidence?
The founding fathers of our Constitution held firmly to the principle of justice in which Every man is
presumed innocent until he is proven guilty. There have been several episodes in history in which
communities violate this principle and allow unsubstantiated accusations to drive their justice system.
As depicted in Arthur Miller s The Crucible, during the Salem witch trials, to be accused of witchcraft
was to be guilty. To be guilty meant a death sentence, which could only be avoided if one was to
confess their guilt and to identify other afflicted girls. During the McCarthy era, a strikingly similar
situation aroused when suspected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McCarthy stated that the state department harbors a nest of communists...who are helping to shape our
foreign policy. I have in possession the names of 57 communists who are in the State department at
present. As a student, I was brought in for questioning with the drug incident because of my
association with a student with whom I had carpooled. In this way, I can connect to Tituba, who
eventually did give into the pressure of Reverend Hale to say names of others, including Goody Good
and Goody Osbourn. Putnam suspected these women of witchcraft when he suggested their names
during Hale s interrogation of Tituba in the Parris household. Even though Tituba had not personally
experienced their forms of witchcraft firsthand, she admitted that she had seen these women always
talking; always runnin round and carryin on (with the devil)... (Miller 46) in order to gain trust and an
image of innocence. Similarly, when I was pressured to give my knowledge of the situation to the
school principal, the first names that came to mind were the ones that I had heard other students in the
hallways suspect, and if I wanted to create an image associating myself with a clear conscience, I

Unfortunately, the air has been polluted through various activities including emissions from industrial
and manufacturing activities, burning fossil fuels, household and farming chemicals, carbon
monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide among others. Although there have been many attempts across the
world to solve the problem of air pollution, it is evidently clear that these measures including the state

many nations appear to strive towards ensuring that the air is clean. However, because of continuous
industrialization and necessary urban development, the atmosphere progressively experiences increase

respiratory sicknesses including asthma if they are aware and educated about the causes and the health

Greek Architecture And The Architecture
Ancient Greek architects pushed for the excellence and beauty seen in their works and it has left a
lifetime of legacy behind them. Greek Architecture is one of the earliest forms of architecture and it is
one that has influenced architects for centuries. Ancient Greece was a collection of hundreds of city
states contributed throughout the Mediterranean and Black seas. Greek life was dominated by religion
and politics. The religious temples and political buildings of the time were the biggest and most

Peloponnese, Aegean Islands, Anatolia, and Italy. It has flourished since it was produced and has been
influencing other countries for centuries. Ancient Greek architects perfected the use of columns which

Ionic order, and Corinthian order. These orders serve the basis of Classic architecture. The Doric order
was the earliest order of Greek architecture. This particular order was not overly decorative and served
the sole purpose of being effective and supporting the buildings. In Doric temples, columns have no
base and they look simple but strong. On the top of the columns, there is a capital and a square block
under the architrave. During the Archaic period in Greece, which was from

  • 3. A Study On Australian Indigenous Art Another aspect of Australia is its art. There are many type of art present in Australia, but one in particular is Australian Indigenous art, which is the oldest ongoing tradition of art in the world. Initial forms of artistic Aboriginal expression were rock carvings, body painting and ground designs, which date back more than 30,000 years. After Australia was colonized the sale of artifacts occurred between indigenous and non indigenous people on a widespread basis throughout south eastern Australia. The quality and variety of Australian Indigenous art produced today reflects the richness and diversity of Indigenous culture and the distinct differences between tribes, such as languages, dialects and geographic landscapes. Art is an important part of Aboriginal life because it connects past and present, the people and the land, and the supernatural and reality. Indigenous art now ranges over different mediums, from works on paper and canvas to fibre and glass, because of the introduction of these sources to the Aborigines in 1970 by a school teacher. The result was a flourishing art movement throughout the Western Desert that stimulated an arts industry that now generates around $200 million a year nationally. This benefits Australia s economy and is one way they are involved globally. The Noble Eightfold Path for instance, echoes the Ten Commandments of the Christianity. They both instruct people on what and whatnot to do, and give them a guideline for everyday life. For example, the Noble Eightfold path instructs people to have Right Conduct, which is similar to the Ten Commandments saying not to kill or steal. The Four Noble Truths tell about the evils of the World and how to avoid them, just like the Bible. Also, the Bible tells Christians how to please God and eventually reach Heaven, just as the Four Noble Truths leads Buddhists to Nirvana. This method of age determination is dependent upon the decay of nitrogen and radiocarbon (Carbon 14) (Encyclopaediea Britannica, 1998; Opinions of Radiocarbon Dating, 2011). Carbon 14 is continually formed in nature by the interaction of neutrons with nitrogen 14 in the Earth s atmosphere (Encyclopaediea Britannica, 1998; Opinions of Radiocarbon Dating, 2011) and all living things exchange the gas carbon 14 with the atmosphere surrounding them. The amount of carbon 14 exchanged into the living organism is perfectly balanced with its surroundings, but when an organism dies, they stop taking in the gas and that equilibrium is damaged. Because Carbon 14 slowly decays at a known rate called its half life in a dead organism, scientists can figure out how long ago it had stopped exchanging carbon with its atmosphere. Specifically, it is most important for an athlete participating in a high intensity, anaerobic sport. Anaerobic power is defined as the rate of energy release by cellular metabolic processes that function without the involvement of oxygen. (Kenney 212) Having the ability to generate more power means you will be able to like run faster, change direction quicker, and jump higher. Training for power will have a much bigger impact on the athletes ability than just training for strength. Power training will more than likely involve more complicated movements that must be done at a fast pace to reach maximum results. Power is defined as the rate of performing work, thus the product of force and velocity. (Kenney 211) Strength on the other hand, is just the maximum force the muscles are able to produce. For example, if you have two athletes that squat the same weight, they both have the same amount of strength, however if one of the athletes is able to perform that lift faster than the other, that athlete has more power. With that being said, it is still important to also train for strength because gains in power are only possible if you are making gains in strength through resistance training as well. The Legal And Political Systems Introduction It is noteworthy that the legal and political systems are fundamentally different in the first place due to the diverse perspectives of the world, and they have developed into two separate entities with their own purposes and model in the society. Therefore, it is unlikely that they share common philosophy and practices. However, like most other disciplines in the society, sometimes law and politics overlap to achieve a common goal, sometimes they complement each other and at other times, they contradict each other. For example, the differentiation of adversaries has no ground in the law and politics dominates over the rule of law when this occurs. Therefore, the goals, philosophy and practices in both systems do not entirely agree, hence reasoning in both systems must be different also. Tradition view The conventional view can be described as that political reasoning features consideration to political parties, social movements, public media, the legislature and the government, and politicians create their own normative ideology that defines and guides the behaviour of the society. James defines legal reasoning as an approach employed by legal officials to identify and apply legal rules to circumstances in order to solve legal cases, and that there are unique characteristics of legal reasoning which set it apart to other forms of reasoning, such characteristics include laws and precedents. • 31. Homelessness Under The Mckinney Vento Homelessness... Homelessness is one of the oldest problems that exist, fast forward almost 40 years since it s been recognized as one and still there has been no avail to finding a real solution. The definition of homelessness under the McKinney Vento Homelessness Assistance Act is defined as an individual: who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence; and a person who has a nighttime residence that is supervised publicly or privately operated shelter, and c) an institution that provides a temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized, or a private or public place not designed for, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings. Homelessness is basically another form of poverty except more extreme, yet society treats it as if it was on another spectrum of problems. Some in society stigmatize this population by saying things like: they re homeless because they are drug addicts, alcoholics, they don t want to work and just live off the government for free. What many forget to think about are the factors that have these people on the street, or the fact that they are not only experiencing personal hardship by being without a permanent residence but emotional ones as well. Add the fact they are sometimes discriminated against and excluded by society, and you will realize you are looking at one of the most vulnerable populations. In Game Theory Models and Methods , the prisoner s dilemma is said to be the most widely known example of game theory. This dilemma was invented by Albert Tucker of Princeton University in 1950. In this dilemma, one is to imagine two people arrested under suspicion of having committed a crime together. The police do not have sufficient evidence to convict the criminals. They are placed in two separate rooms and the police visit each suspect, offering a deal. The deal is basically, whoever gives up evidence on the other person will go free. If neither suspect takes the offer, they are working against the police and both will receive a small punishment because of lack of evidence. Both suspects appeared to have won because neither took the offer, but were given a small punishment. However, if one suspect takes the offer and betrays the other, the one who gave up the evidence will gain more because he will be set free and the one who remained quiet will get the full punishment. However, if both suspects betray each other, they will both receive punishment. From this example, we learn that each suspect was given a choice between only two options, but cannot make a good decision without knowing what the other one will do (Game Theory Models and Methods). The organ market is in dire need of healthy, fresh organs and since demand is higher than supply a group of people are being discriminated against when it comes to receiving organs they need. The number of waitlisted patients over 65 years of age has tripled. Unfortunately, the transplant wait‐list has increased far more quickly than the supply of deceased‐donor kidneys (Curtis). This increase of older patients in need of kidneys leads to medial professionals making independent utilitarian judgements on who deserves them most. Theme Of Allusion In Grass And English Con Salsa History and Allusion in grass and English con salsa According to Kennedy and Dana, an allusion is where a person, place or thing is referred to indirectly, either by text or as an illustration (Kennedy and Dana 408). When allusions are used in a poem, it is assumed that the poet and the reader share a common body of knowledge. The poems grass by Carl Sandburg and English con salsa by Gina Valdès are both similar in the sense that they both employ allusions in their narratives.
