1. Deductive Essay Examples
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Deductive Essay Examples" can present its own set of
challenges. First and foremost, it requires a solid understanding of deductive reasoning and the
ability to apply it effectively in various examples. This type of essay typically demands a logical
structure where the writer starts with a general statement or hypothesis and then presents
specific evidence to support it.
The difficulty lies in balancing the general and specific aspects of deductive reasoning. Finding
relevant and compelling examples that align with the deductive structure can be time-consuming
and requires a thorough grasp of the topic. Additionally, articulating the logical progression from
the general premise to specific conclusions in a coherent and convincing manner is crucial for the
success of the essay.
Moreover, ensuring clarity and precision in language is essential in a deductive essay. The reader
should be able to follow the logical sequence effortlessly, understanding the connections between
the general statement, evidence, and the ultimate conclusion.
In the process of writing such an essay, one may encounter the challenge of selecting appropriate
examples that not only illustrate the deductive process but also engage the reader. It requires
careful consideration to strike a balance between being informative and captivating, ensuring that
the essay remains focused on the deductive aspect without becoming overly complex or
convoluted.
Despite the complexities, a well-crafted deductive essay can be a rewarding intellectual exercise.
It enhances critical thinking skills and demonstrates the writer's ability to construct a logical
argument based on evidence. With dedication and a clear understanding of the deductive
process, the challenges in writing such an essay can be overcome.

2. Defending Education Reform
Defining Education Reform
Beauty, we have been reminded many times, is in the eye of the beholder, and so is
education reform. Reforming anything goes far beyond improving it because reform
demands fundamental change, not mere tweaking. The challenge involved in
understanding educational reform begins with the challenge of terminology. The
terms educational reform , educational change , and educational progress are often
used interchangeably, but they have distinctly different meanings and implications.
For example, the news media may refer to the recent standardized testing initaitave as
an educational reform, and educational change or as educational progress toward the
goal of more efficient and effective education (Understanding Education Reform, Pg
1). Reform implies that something is wrong or at least could be better. Change on the
other hand, simply implies that something will be different.
What we dont know about our education system threatens what we do know. There
are very concrete reasons why reform as we ve tried has not worked. And why it
wont. Ever. But there are things we can do. To reform is literally to form/ create
/ shape something again; commonly it means to amend or improve. We need to
view or ignore the system itself, it is still true that we aim our reform effort at the
part with which we are most familiar, the classroom,i.e., teacher, students, books,
methods. The need for reform comes from the diverse political system and it is
directed at
3. Case analysis of National Logistics Management.
In less than two decades National Logistics Management has already become one
of the most successful and fast growing logistics companies of the USA. Despite
increasing competition in logistics, NLM continues to adapt itself to the changing
environment. Suffice to state just one fact: two years in a row ( in 2004 and 2005
respectively) two reputable and well known magazines Inc. magazine and Start
magazine recognized NLM as one of the most innovative and fast growing
companies. Undoubtedly, the innovative strategy of providing cost effective way to
facilitate and expedite premium freight is behind the success of the company.
However, will NLM be able to maintain and enhance its profitable business in the

By 1999 he had not developed full potential of his company; neither had he explored
other possibilities of the market, and he was concerned with the competition that he
faced. In order to enhance his business in the new decade of internet technologies he
had to consider several options: the merging of his company with other internet
company (analogue of Ryder Systems Inc with Toyota), more close cooperation with
other manufactures that could provide identical services. He also could combine the
resources of the company with other logistics company that served similar clients and
wanted to improve and enhance its services in premium freight management. Another
option was to enter internet industry in order to become efficient B2B player.
Alternatives.
Several alternatives and possibilities are opened. One should consider and evaluate
them. These possibilities are following:
1) Merging with other manufacturers is one of the best alternatives providing this
merging will increase productivity and efficiency of the company.
2) Explore closer relationship with another transportation provider. This relationship
must be based on condition that NLM will still operate in the niche of premium
freight services.
3) Increased cooperation with smaller shippers. In spite of the fact that dollar value
of each transaction will decrease and the number of transactions will have to be
increased, the large group of clients will reduce the negative impact of the factors
4. Struggles on Afghanistan
Afghanistan is a poor, landlocked country located in Central Asia. The country is
quite small, with barely any water close by. With barely a 5th of the US GDP,
Afghanistan is a underdeveloped country with little to no sanitation. Having about 6
million people with no access or poor welfare, the country has a low populationalong
with low life expectancy. This underdeveloped, desolate, war torn country has a long
continuing history. Being the 41st largest country in the world, the country s area is
652, 230 square kilometers. That would make the country slightly smaller than Texas.
Pakistan, China, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan are some of the
countries surrounding Afghanistan. The country has NO bodies of water, is
landlocked, and is mostly made up of rugged mountains. Afghanistan has no
coastline, having barely any rain and humidity. Because of the country s location,
Afghanistan has hot summers. They are hotter than most countries because of
being landlocked. There are cold winters, because of the mountains. Based on the
country s size, the population is quite large. Afghanistan has a population of 31,
108, 077 Afghans.The US has a population of 316, 438, 601 americans. That is
about 10% of the US s population. Afghanistan s population growth rate is 2.29.
Did you know that Afghanistan males have a life expectancy of 48.81 years? Thats
29.35 less than US males life expectancy. The Afghan women live for a few years

5. The Topic For My Capstone Project Was To Gain
Introductory
The topic for my capstone project was to gain introductory knowledge for
penetration testing. I had little knowledge on the subject itself, but I was interested
in it enough to base this project around it. What I knew before hand was very basic
information and I would need to learn a lot more before I could consider myself fully
introduced to penetration testing. The goal of my capstone was to learn how to
safely practice penetration testing, set up a virtual machinepenetration lab, learn why
a lab would need to be set up, and lastly to find out why penetration testing is
important.
Penetration testing is when a company pays a specialist to try and break into their
network and relay back to them any vulnerabilities they may find. Now ... Show more

Using these labels and their definitions explains the purpose of penetration testing a
bit better. White hats use the same methods and tools to break into networks as a
black hat would, but they disclose the security issue with the network owner. In a
sense, a white hat imitates a malicious attack but there would be no harm done to the
network.
What are the vulnerabilities in which a penetration test would look for? Most
penetration tests would go through an information gathering state in which they
look for as many different possible vulnerable targets, and they may also capture
the network traffic and investigate that as well. One example of an attack could be
infiltrating the file server and uploading a payload to that server. If an attacker can
find their way to accessing the file server, depending on what is kept on it, they
could also have access to secure files and any other sensitive information kept on it,
possibly any of the configuration files to that file server holding hashes for user
passwords. Attackers may also look for any vulnerable programs on network
computers for more ways into the system. Depending on how much effort a hacker
wants to go through there is an endless amount of areas that they can check for
vulnerabilities. Anything from scanning port numbers to bypassing the firewall
without being detected, networks can be well secured but not to a point of being
100% safe from any

Everyone grows up. And a part of growing up is learning new things about the
worldaround you. But some people have more to learn than others. In Harper Lee s
novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Scout and Jem along with their friend, Dill, grow up
in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama. Scout, Jem and Dill experience events that
change the way they look at the world. To Kill A Mockingbird
chronicles their coming

Boo Radley and Dill running away from home, all change the way the kids look at
the town and people around them.
One of the most important parts of the kids journey of learning more about how the
world around them works is the trial of Tom Robinson. Even before the trial, the
kids see the town s reaction to Atticus taking up the case of Tom Robinson. The kids

Where and How Silver is produced
Silver is classified as a precious metal as its not very abundant in the Earth s crust.
The largest producers of silver in the world are Mexico, Penl, The United States,
Canada, Poland, Chile and Australia. Silver is obtained through pure deposits of the
metal in ores (argentite, light ruby silver, dark ruby silver and brittle silver). These
ores rich in silver have been gone for a very long time as it has been mined,
therefore it usually come from ores containing small amounts of silver. The amount
of silver in the ores range from about a few thousandths of an ounce per ton of ore

11. Serial Killer Vs Mass Killer
Over the course of the semester we discussed many things in this class one being
serial and mass murderers. Under that umbrella we discussed the differences
between the two, the victims they may attack, the reasons why they kill, personal
backgrounds, and explanations to why they kill. At the end of this course we were
asked to pick a type of killer and explain what it is we learned from them. For this
paper I chose to talk about serial killers. The killers I chose to discuss are Paul
Bernardo and Karla Homolkabut we will get to them later on.
Serial killers differ from mass murderers because serial killers kill over a period of
time with a cooling off period whereas mass murderers have one big killing with four

However, there was some childhood trauma for Paul. At a young age his father was
convicted of child molestation. His mother suffered from depression. This caused
Paul to beat/harm his girlfriends he had in college and to eventually become a

Scarborough. Neither killer had a criminal record prior to their convictions stated
above. I classified each serial killer as both organized and disorganized. I say that
because DNA was left at the scene of their crimes but they strategically lured and
disposed of their victims. Over the course of the semester we have discussed many
types of killers such as partner groups, serial, and mass murderers. We discussed why
killers kill and we also discussed specific killers. I have grown to enjoy the
criminology of killers. I have also learned that we can t really screen for certain types
of killers due to self fulfilling prophecy. I chose the Ken and Barbie killers because
I wanted to know why certain killers engage in relationships and kill at the same
time. I wanted to know what the purpose was of that type of dominance and I was

13. Sports Performance Evaluation Ioan Stoian National...
Exercise is termed as an activity requiring physical effort to improve health and
fitness. Scientists can use fitness as a measure to compare one person to another
(Haskel). Fitness tests can be conducted in a field or lab based setting (Point of care
athlete testing, a new approach of sport performance evaluation Ioan Stoian National
Institute of Sports Medicine, Bucharest, Romania). Fitness as a standard must be
quantified to be able to compare individuals (Safrit). Predicting VO2Max can be
done through both submaximal and maximal tests such as walking (KLINE), cycling
(Astrand) and the 20 metre shuttle test (LIU). The VO2max can be assessed by
means of an incremental test, otherwise known as a graded exercise test (GXT) The
GXT can be administered differently, however it similarly requires exercise
participation in an incremental fashion till volitional exhaustion(RYAN P.
ALEXANDER†and CONSTANCE M. MIER‡). GXT is recognized as the
gold standard in measurement of cardiorespiratory endurance (STEVEN E). VO2max
measurement values are used as a measure in overall fitness and the efficiency of
training on athlete performance. Specifically in previous research, LUCIA analysed
the heart rate and performance of 13 road cyclists throughout the duration of a
complete riding season. Each subject performed a progressive exercise test 3 times
throughout the season. He found an overall improvement in performance (VO2max),
though heart rate remained stable during remained stable at

individuality affects his social , personal life, and societal pressures and bullying .
The first thing The Chocolate War highlights are the effects individuality has on

15. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Speeding
Driving above the posted speed limit is known as speeding. Drivers may also be
driving at a speed that is too fast for existing conditions. Speeding is a main factor
in the severity and the number of accidents that occur. This includes residential
roads and highways. The reason is due to the way that any increase in the speed of
a vehicle affects the reaction time of the driver. A driver will have less time to react
and less time to come to a stop.
Another aspect to keep in mind is a vehicle traveling at a faster rate of speed will
result in more energy be absorbed when an impact occurs. One interesting aspect
about speeding is drivers often to not know their reaction time decreases at high
speeds. The reason for this is the brain requires time to realize that a danger is
present and to process a reaction, such as braking. ... Show more content on

The average time for most people to react to situations when driving is about 1.5
seconds. If a driver is on a mobile phone or distracted in another way will often take
up to three seconds to react. This often means a driver will react too late to avoid an
accident.
Speeding will increase the baking distance and the reaction distance. This means a
speeding driver will cover a greater distance than a slower driver when a viewing and
reacting to a situation. The end result is a speeding driver is much more likely to
crash their vehicle. Another aspect to keep in mind is speed will also be a factor to
the severity level of a crash. Vehicle control can also be compromised whenever a
driver is traveling at a higher rate of speed. The reason is being able to maneuver is
diminished when taking evasive action or when taking a sharp

different cultures and separated by distance, were very similar.
Roman women generally had three choices in life; they could remain unmarried,
either by choice or due to an insufficient dowry, they could marry, or they could
become Vestals. Vestals were priests who cared for the temple of Vesta, the goddess
of the hearth. Roman men did not want their wives involved in their public lives so
married women tended to stay out of the way. Instead, they remained busy running

boosting operation productivity and recovering customer services. Improper use of
empowerment can also impact negatively on such things as employees poor decision

more positive impacts on the front desk operations and this paper will suggest how
to overcome those negative aspects by showing the best practices used in hotel

utilises intertextuality to Nabokov s Lolita, to support the power imbalance in the
relationship between Paul Marshall and Lola Quincy. Lola s name is a direct

virulent relationship created between the two dichotomous characters. Both Paul and

22. Battle Of Brownsville Essay
The Battle of Brownsville was the final battle in the American Civil War. Although
it was a Confederate victory, the Union Army won the war. This battle took place
near the present day Rio Grand River. It is sometimes called the Battle of Palmito
Ranch or the battle on the Gulf Coast. There are many opinions on how many
soldiers died that day, but the most reliable seems to come from CivilWar.com. They
say that 118 Union soldiers were lost, compared to only around 6 Confederate
soldiers. The Union Armys purpose was to disrupt any reported Confederate camps
and possible blockades around the area, but failed when their position was given
away by the crunching of twigs and leaves . The Union soldiers both white and black
were forced to retreat
23. Dating Vs Online Dating
Dating is not like it use to be now there are many different ways people meet and
start dating. Some examples is online dating websites, through social media, and then
there is offline dating which is like it use to be. There are also many differences
between online dating and offline dating like communication, technology, and
knowing who the person is dating.
One of the main thing that is different between online dating and offline dating is
communication. When people are dating online they talk through computers and
phones so they are basically talking through a screen. Offline relationships often
take time because they have to chat a while to build connections and people never
know if its going to work. People that date offline talk more face to face they have a
better connection because they get to see each other and spend time together in
person. Also when people talk face to face they can share common interest and see if
the relationship is going to last or not. The way people communicate in relationships
offline or online determines how the relationship is going to work. ... Show more

Technology can be a good thing when dating someone online sometimes because
people get to meet other people that they have common interest with. Also when
someone is online dating they become more advance with technology then
someone who is not using online dating. Breaking up with someone online make it
easier for the person because you don t have to see their feed or chat with them
because that person can block them. But when it comes to offline dating people
don t meet as many new people as they would if someone was trying a dating
website because they are more then likely to stay local with their relationship. Also
breaking up with someone in person is harder because they see the other persons
emotions which make it harder to do. Technology can be a good thing and a bad
thing when it comes to dating
24. The Weighted Average Cost Of Capital
Introduction
AGL Energy is an Australian company providing energy products and services. It is
involved in the generation and retailing of electricity and is the largest ASX listed
owner, operator and developer of renewable energy generation in the country (AGL
Energy Ltd., 2016).
This assignment will calculate the Weighted Average Cost of Capitalof AGL Energy
Ltd and gearing, as well as analysing the capital structure of the company. Through
this, recommendations can be given to the firm to increase and better manage
capital and how it is used. The Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is a
calculation of a firm s cost of capital. It is the average costs of debt and equity
financing, each of which is weighted by its proportional ... Show more content on

Therefore, the result of the WACC can be increased or decreased by altering these
results.
Weighted Average Cost of Capital Result
The Weighted Average Cost of Capital is for AGL is in the 2015 financial year is
approximately 6.28%. While 6.28% WACC is slightly high, the overall average
for the utilities companies have high WACC, AGL is in the average. A high
weighted average cost of capital is indicative of higher risk associated with the
company. As seen in IPART s (2016) Review of the Weighted Average Cost of
Capital is is shown for five of the utilities industries in Australia.
As can be seen from the figures below as AGL is both an electricity retailer and
generator and therefore fits into both categories. While electricity retailing is slight
higher at 6.8% WACC, electricity generation is not much smaller at 6.0% (IPART,
2016). Therefore, these two can be averaged to give approximately 6.4%. This
means that AGLs Weighted Average Cost of Capital result of 6.28% is on par with
the industry averages. This result shows that AGL has an adequate capital structure
which gives a good Weighted Average Cost of Capital. Investors may often use
WACC as an indicator of whether or not an investment is worth pursuing. This result
shows indicates the company is financially stable and is not considered not risky to
potential investors.
There are many factors that can affect the result of the Weighted Average Cost of
Capital. This can include
25. Persuasive Speech On Recycling
The world is full of people using everyday products made from plastics or
styrofoam, from simple things like cups, forks and spoons to expensive electronics
such as printers, phones, and TV s. About 300 million tons of plastic is produced
globally each year (Raising Awareness of Plastic Waste) and more than 14 million
tonnes of polystyrene(styrofoam) are produced every year around the world (Now
and forever: The Styrofoam dilemma). With these high amounts being produced
each year it is easy to see why our oceans are now filled with these materials which
end up damaging our earths ecosystem, marine life, and wild life. Out of the 300
million tons of plasticproduced only about 10 percent of that is recycled (Raising
Awareness of Plastic Waste) and out of the 14 million tons of styrofoam produced
only 56 million pounds of styrofoam are recycled (EPS (Styrofoam) Facts, Figures
and Statistics) This means that the majority of plastics and styrofoam end up in
landfills or our oceans changing our world for the worst one non recycled item at a
time. After reviewing two different Ted Talks, one about recycling
plastic by Mike
Biddle and one about recycling styrofoam by Ashton Cofer it has become more
apparent to me that recycling plastics is extremely important and Mike Biddle has
the solution. What is Ted Talks? Ted Talks is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas,
usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED was

numerous individuals completed not have machine information and were not mindful
of how to utilize it. Today, the Internetis utilized regularly for just about every
errand. A huge number of Americans have a workstation at home and the vast
majority of these managers have admittance to the Net. It has gotten to be so easy
to take a seat at a machine and only click starting with one page then onto the next
for quite some time. This has made it a pastime to simply surf the Internet for quite
some time. It is entertaining to any distinctive paying little mind to age. There are
numerous kids that have admittance to a machine either at home or in their schools
and they know how to utilize it to surf the net. School learners have more

colleges issue an email location to each understudy that is enlisted for classes.

28. Theories Of Gender Performativity
Gender performativity was defined in lecture by Dr. Thomas O Neill as the act of
being either male or female each day (September 21st, 2017). In this essay, I will
first be discussing what is meant by gender performativity, followed by an illustration
on how it differs from gender socialization and interpretive reproduction two other
theories of genderidentity formation. Patricia Adler (1992) as cited by O Neill in
lecture, explains that gender socialization theoryemphasizes how children, through
socialization, try and adopt gendered characteristics to develop their own identity
(September 21st, 2017). Interpretive reproduction on the other hand, was a concept
established by William Corsaro and explained by O Neill in lecture as, the... Show

This statement suggests that if you were to disregard the scripts that are assigned to
each gender, something different might come to be. In summary, the theory of
gender performativity highlights that gender performance is habitually and
continually acted and performed on a daily basis in everyday life and gender does
not have to be depicted by the set regulations of society.
A gender identity formation theory that exhibits a completely different way of
thinking is gender socialization theory. Karen Wells (2015), explains that gender
socialization theories originated from general theories of socialization which
suggest that children learn how to be functional members of society through daily
experiences and arising issues in addition to formal training. Wells (2015)
highlights that gender socialization focuses on socialization into appropriate roles
depicted by gender this varies drastically from the theory of gender performativity.
For example, gender socialization theory assumes that children learn what is
considered to be culturally appropriate for their gender by using others as role
models, imitating and eventually internalizing the role model s behaviours and
attitudes (Hill, 2002 citing Ickles, 1993 as cited by Wells, 2015). Patricia Adler
(1992) describes gender socialization as the internalization of idealized gender
images . As a result, this creates a socially constructed right and wrong for each
29. Government In 1984
The novel 1984 is a political story with the purpose to warn the readers about the
dangers of a totalitarian government. It really shows everyone that if there is a bad
appearance, it will lead us to poor language. Then, when inadequate language comes,
we think faulty thoughts. In the novel 1984 by George Orwell, there is no expression
of freedom. The governmentin 1984 has control over people by controlling the
information. People have no access or memory of history from the past, which allows
the Party to control their understanding about the past which would influence their
thoughts in the present and the future.
This problem has to do with the fact that the government (The Inner Party) controls
every source of information. The Party can

32. The Technology of Computer Networks
Introduction
Computer network a system used to link PCs or computer equipment (servers,
routers, and other equipment). For data transmission can be used various kinds of
electric signals, light signals or electromagnetic radiation. Computer networks can be
classified according to various criteria territorial prevalence, type of network
topology, etc. One of the criteria the type of transmission, the network is divided into
wired and wireless.
Wi Fi a trademark of Wi Fi Alliance for wireless networks based on the standard
IEEE 802.11. The acronym Wi Fi (from the Wireless Fidelity, which can be literally
translated as the quality of the wireless ) is currently developing as a family of
standards for the transmission of digital data radio streams. It is still often hears that
the wireless network is not secure compared to wired solutions. At the present stage
of Wi Fi technology s development that is not true. Simply security needs to be
addressed (to design and maintain), as in the case of a wired network.
It has long been known that the defense of any infrastructure is only one method of
creating a protected perimeter is ineffective, as often the most dangerous attacks are
caused by factors within the network. Building a security system Wi Fi network
should take into account all of these factors in order to come as close to a similar
level of security of wired and wireless network segments.
And what, in fact, an attacker can get on the wireless network , set up which

Additionally, its passage also helped rectify the system of free market capitalism in
America, through abolishing an ancient barrier to true merit based selection of
employees. The immediate result of the elevating of women s socio economic status,
through offering them a higher wage, was increased participation in both the
corporate world as professional employees and the world of higher education as
students. In both positions, women held much greater access and leverage to the
political system in America, through their active participation and influence in
student demonstrations, political movements, and through unions and professional

The era of the 1950s and 1960s ushered in new priorities for the education of
America s students as well as the social, judicial, political and organizational structure
of our nation s schools. Some of the challenges that the educational system faced were
facilitated by federal and state interventions. Interventions such as The National
Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) No Child Left Behind, (NCLB) and Every
Student Succeed Act (ESSA) are just a few federal and state interventions that had a

35. Comparing The Museum Of Modern Art
Similarities exist between the architecture of the Museum of Modern Art in New
York and the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. The Museum of Modern
Art, designed by Philip L. Goodwin and Edward Durell Stone, was one of the earliest
examples of the International Style (Ricciotti, 1985, p. 51). The Museum of Modern
Artwas established as an educational institution which displayed painting sculpture
but also introduced photography, film, and industrial design (Ricciotti, 1985, p. 51).

Kahn s vaulted skylights created unique, filtered, light that showcased the art and
played an important role in the museum s innovative design (Loud, 1987, p, 44).
The one story museum also created rooms that created harmony with the art and
were void of unnecessary decorative elements or details (Loud, p.1987, p. 34).
Additionally, instead of a large, sprawling royal palace, the Museum of Modern Art
s vertical design fit into the crowded city (Ricciotti, 1985, p. 60). The interior spaces
were reminiscent of the original townhouse structure with multiple stories and
shorter ceiling height (Ricciotti, 1985, p. 58). In comparison to the Louvre, the
gallery spaces did not feature grand halls as the modernist architects rejected the
Beaux Arts traditional elements (Ricciotti, 1985, p. 59). The style of the Museum of
Modern Art symbolizes the ideological aims of the original design (Ricciotti, 1985,
p. 51). The original facade is one of the only features that remains to this day
(Ricciotti, 1985, p.74). The results of different tastes and backgrounds resulted in a
building that is based on variations of the international style and more towards
modernism (Ricciotti, 1985, p. 72). Recent renovations demonstrate respect to the
original design and its significant past (Ricciotti, 1985, p.

gun ownership through legislation that would affect background checks, gun safety

violence is the ban on assault weapons manufacturing and sales. Generally people
who lean left on the political spectrum are favoring the legislation to help control the

The U.S. government did conduct studies on what type of firearms were used by
criminals and how they obtained the firearms to commit the crimes, but did not
take measures to control the weapons that actually caused harm or took measures
to control who the weapons were used by. In a 1991 study by the U.S Department
of Justice, before the ban even was in the form of a bill, the government had
information on how criminals used guns which could have been used to create an
effective ban in 1994. In this study and estimated 2,100 inmates committed violent
crimes with some type of military style weapon. This number represented less than
1% of inmates in prison for violent crimes. Other inmates used rifles/shotguns (5%),
other weapons such as clubs or blunt objects (11%), handguns (24%), or no
weapons used in the violent crime (54%) ( Survey of State Prison Inmates 17,18).
Out of all the inmates interviewed (711,000) a very little portion of them used a
firearm that was focused on in the ban. The number of the then banned weapons
used would be even lower since not all of the used weapons that were reported
were illegal under AWB. Looking at the numbers of what types of weapons were
used in mass shootings in the U.S. also showed that the type of guns focused on by
Congress was not correct. Between 2006 2016 there were 45 mass shootings in

As mentioned earlier, when our prospect applies to the four selected colleges from
Figure 6.4, they will utilize the LSAC as mandated from each institution. That
provides for straightforward management of those applications with submission dates
synchronizing with the University of Florida the earliest one. That way, all
institutions can be concurrently applied rather than piecemeal this process. Anyway,
it turns out that some of the law schools in question employ a rolling admissions
process where the institution can potentially notify applicants anytime inside a
window of an admissions decision. As a result, if all material checks for

To begin with, applicants must send official college transcripts using the Registrar at
specific points in the process; initially as preliminary transcripts, followed by
periodic updates and finally after graduation. Likewise, registrants having
professional appraisals directed from third party principals on their behalf utilize the
Letter of Recommendation (LOR) and Evaluation services ultimately bundling them
with other CAS documentation. Figure 6.5 below provides a list of many or most
requirements and optional items that might accompany our prospect s applications,
including the transcript release forms for the Registrar and evaluation forms for
individuals writing assessments discussed above. They will, of course, vary per each
school s admissions instructions. Sometimes people spend so much time developing
elaborate strategies and plans that they overlook the obvious. An applicant should
anticipate positive events just as diligently as preparing for failure (via a Plan B).
The significance of a rolling admissions process has the potential for receiving
notifications at different points in time. Understanding the acceptance/denial
protocols regarding the admissions process for each institution should not be
disregarded. Another aspect seeks to avoid waiting for a preference never

Before the 1930s the US economy had been ruled by the forces of supply and

everything went smooth.
But in reality the system favorite the middle and the upper class, so about half of the
American population did not participate in the economic growth. Wealth and
purchasing power were uneven distributed and over production in industry and
agriculture became a severe problem. In addition, speculation in stocks had driven
the value of the stocks up to unrealistic heights. All this is said to be some of the

What was missing was purchasing power. If the workers got money then they
would spend it and the money would change owner and eventually create
willingness to invest. But the government had to start the process, and use money,

The most important thing was to get people back at work. It is clear to see that
President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the U.S. administration adopted Keynes theory,
known as the General Theory , in their recovery plan, New Deal . The government
became actively involved in creating jobs and economic activity. One example is the
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), where the government built reservoirs and power
stations. Women were now also allowed into the government and the administration.
The goal was to get one of the family members a job. To get better control over the
economy Roosevelt got the Congress to pass a law which was called the National
Recovery Act. Its intention was to regulate prices and wages. Even though USA had
adopted his theory, it was until the postwar era Keynes theory about an active
government really got approval in the industrialized countries. Even when
conservative governments were in control they kept their economies under close
surveillance. In Britain, France and Italy the postwar governments nationalized
number of the
40. Autonomy
The advent of autonomous systems has been great for a rise in the production of
humanity. This improvement in productivity is achieved by increasing the number of
systems in each persons control. The processing capability of humans is limited
which limits the amount of attention to be devoted to each system. This can be
overcome by adding intelligence to the systems allowing them to operate in
autonomous and semi autonomous modes. Autonomy is a major factor in
determining the effectiveness of the human machine team. The disparate way
autonomy has been conceptualized in human machine interaction is due to the
multidisciplinary nature of the field. Systems of varying degrees of autonomy have
been applied to a range of applications, such as domestic
41. The Functions Of The Liver
Expanding across the upper section of the abdomen behind the lower ribs is the
second largest organ in the human body. The liver has a multitude of functions, one
of which is discharging chemicals that are pertinent for the survival of other parts of
the body (Medicine.net, 2014). The liver also functions as a storage unit as it breaks
down and detoxifies substances including hormones and insulin produced by the
body. The liveralso filters and breaks down medications, and narcotic substances
ingested by consumption (Medicine.net, 2014).
The significance of this organ is often overlooked or underappreciated. Throughout
this assignment, an in depth exploration of the primary functions of the liver will be
conducted. The vitality of this organ will be examined in an attempt to convey the
importance of its role in every day activity and the survival of the human body. The
Liver
As the largest organ inside of the body the liver possesses a multitude of functions
that are vital for individual survival. The liver consists of four lobes; right lobe, left
lobe, caudate lobe, and quadrate lobe (Health Line Medical Team, 2014). Epitheral
tissue forms the liver, and provides protection by restraining fluids in the body (King,
2007).
The liver is also supported by connective tissues. The left and right lobes are split
according to their relation to bile duct, hepatic portal vein, and hepatic artery proper
(Health Line Medical Team, 2014). When inspecting the liver, the front left

Safe Disposal of Insulation Material
There have been various types of Insulating materials used within the electrical power
industry since the beginning of electrical power. And over the years scientist and
environmentalist have discovered that most if not all insulating materials are
harmful to the human body or the environment in one way or another, being shot
term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a
substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or
copper wire safe to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating
materials will break down at a certain limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells
us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator. This example explained above is
one use for an insulating material within the electrical power industry. Insulators
serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit
breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by
electrical workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause
health hazards to humans and environmental hazards to the environment which will
be discussed in a bit more detail further on, and
43. Disney s Mulan
Disney s Mulan is a tale of a young Chinese girl who dresses up as a man to go to
war in order to prevent her dad from having to go at such old age. Mulan is
considered to be one of the first feminist films Disney created, aiming to give a female
protagonist power. However, although the representation of female power seems
promising, as aHDJSFA argues Mulan s story distorts the values of feminism and
ultimately reinforces antifeminist ideas. it is interesting to see that although Mulan
has attributes such as bravery, determination and is ultimately extremely competent
as a fighter for her country, the film struggles to act as a powerful representation of
breaking the stereotypical gendertropes so present in Disney princesses. The values...

She feels unworthy with her female status, so eloquently emphasized in the song,
Reflection that she instead adopts masculine characteristics and defies the
expectations of her sex . However, this feminist ideal is quickly forgotten as we
realise she is not searching for her own accomplishment but instead looking for
something that she could do right , so that when [she] looked in the mirror [sheКјd]
see someone worthwhile (Coats Bancroft, 1998). The various songs in Mulan
represent the anti feminist nature of the film, with I ll Make a Man Out of You , in
which Shang the captain, sings, did they bring me daughters, when I asked for sons?
(Coats Bancroft, 1998) Here Shang connects the soldiers inability to perform and
clumsiness with femininity. Similarly, the song A Girl Worth Fighting For, the
soldiers sing of girls that are paler than the moon, that marvel at [their] strength, and
are good cooks. When Mulan responds with, How about a girl who s got a brain,
who always speaks her mind...? they respond with nah! (Coats Bancroft,
44. Spartan Government Vs Athenian Government Essay
How did people in Athens and Sparta obtain the right to participate in public life and
make decisions affecting the community? Who held public office? What rules
governed the selection of public office holders?
Athens:
The Athenian Popular Assembly theoretically consisted of all adult male citizens of
20 years and older.
Athenian democracy was available only to free adult men who had Athenian parents
and was not available to Women, slaves and foreigners. There was a Popular
Assembly which included all adult male citizens, 20 years and older (Brand, n.d.,
p.31). Moreover, the right to political office was additionally determined by wealth.
The rules allowed only the most wealthy to hold the highest political offices. These
were elected, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Gerousia was similar to the Roman Senate or the Athenian Areopagus. It was an
elite assembly dominated by wealthier and more conservative elements of Spartan
society (Brand, n.d., p.10).
At the bottom of the hierarchy was the popular Assembly, which consisted of free
male citizen warriors.
How were the two city states similar in their governmental structures?
Both Athens and Sparta had a popular Assembly of all male adult citizens. Both had
higher offices and chambers. The dispossessed included women, children, non
citizens and foreigners, and slaves. Additionally, the aristocracy tended to hold
special status, privileges, and protections.
How did they differ?
For a period of less than 200 years, Athens experimented with democracy to a greater
extent than any other known to that time. It is tragic to say, by way of commentary,
that such an experiment derided by its own leaders, consumed quickly, and failed to
enfranchise a vast majority of its people. Nevertheless, the political advances in
Athens promoted the arts and sciences, architecture, theater, and literature, and set an
enduring legacy for all humanity to
45. Essay on The Life-Span Developmental Approach to
Counseling
The life span development approach addresses the basic nature versus nurture
debate by allowing for both. Just as our physicals selves are determined by both
genetics and lifestyle, so are our emotional selves. As a Licensed Professional
Counselor, I plan to consider life span development to specialize in counseling a
specific type of person with hopes of becoming well versed, and therefore more
helpful, in the types of experiences that group faces. Personality can be better
understood if it is examined developmentally (Santrock, 2006, p. 45). Considering
cognitive, biological, and socioemotional development throughout life will provide
context, guideposts, and reasonable expectations for counselors. Life span
development theories also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second cognitive theory emphasizes social and cultural environment. Vygotsky s
theory points to our relationships with others as the definitions of ourselves (Nicholl,
1998, par. 13). Two other theories of early development link environment with
biology. Sandra Scarr, a behavior geneticist, theorizes that heredity and environment
are correlated. Author Judith Harris theorizes that heredity and peer environment
are the sole factors in a person s development, and therefore parents have no affect
on the development of their children. The life span perspective should probably
make room for familial environment: family of origin and family of choice.
Assuming Harris is correct, a life span approach to counseling will allow that children
and spouses do influence an adult s development. Environmental factors on a micro
level feature the nuclear family; macro level factors can include social mores,
regional cultural norms, and even national identity. Santrock points out that each of
these factors influences our understanding of children and adults and informs our
decisions as a society about how they should be treated (2006, p. 9). A counselor can
guide a person to examining the correlation between environment and societal
attitudes, and then the impact on his or her own development. Providing a social
support such as counseling from a life span perspective must include
47. The Four Types Of Welding Career
Welding
Most of the dangers in welding are related to the wielder. Others are due to the
environment that they have to go to. In welding, most people can do most all things
people would want to do. The four main types of welding are Shielded Metal Arc
Welding (The stick or SMAW), Metal Inert Gas welding(Mig or GMAW), Oxyfuel
Gas Welding (Oxyfuel or OFW) and Tungsten Inert Gas welding (Tig). Welding is
also a great career path because it pays well. The only drawback to it is that the
wielder will have to travel. In welding, there are three main careers they can go
into. There are structural, pipe, and Tig welding. Welding has a lot of big names.
Lincoln and Miller are two of the biggest welding companies in the world. Even
though welding is a dangerous job, welding is a good career because there are many
different things people can do in a welding career and many types of jobs in a
welding career.
There are a lot of dangers in welding. Some of the dangers are ergonomic, electric
shock, ultraviolet light, toxic fumes and gases, heat, and noise. Ergonomic is a
danger because the work environment the wielder never knows where the wielder
will be working. The work conditions can range from really cold to really hot. In
the workplace the wielder could be welding anywhere from the top of skyscrapers to
the bottom of the oceans. The ultraviolet light in welding is harmful because it is like
the radiation from the sun and it can damage the wielder s skin. The ultraviolet light is
48. Migration In The Great Migration
The neoclassical economic theory sees migration as a consequence of
irregularities in the supply and demand of labor in different areas. The
Neoclassical theory insinuates that migrants relocate from one place to another
with the intention of maximizing their income. People tend to move from counties
where wages are low and labor is plentiful relative to capital to those where the
opposite is the case (Castles, 566). Emphasis is put on personal determinations to
relocate based on logical observations of the costs and rewards associated. The
journey of African Americans from the Southern States to the North during The
Great Migration is linked to the neoclassical theory due to wages and the shortage
of labor; in order for African Americans to obtain better wages, they needed to
relocate to the Northern and Western cities. During both World Wars, when America
sent her sons to battle and desperately needed laborers for the war factories, African
Americans filled the depleted factories and the supply and demand balance of
laborers was materialized. The Oxford Handbook of African AmericanCitizenship,
1865 Present narrated the economic aspects of African Americans by tracing the
historical development of African American economic experiences, starting from the
dawn of Reconstruction onward, and shed light on the consequences concerning the
economic marginalization of blacks in the south during The Great Migration. The
discriminatory system of Jim Crow s south led to lower
49. Abolishment In Frankenstein
Despite how extravagantly different the creation scene is in Shelley s novel
compared to what is presented on screen, there is little to say on the subject. As
already mentioned in the introduction, the tradition of exuberant, showy creation
scenes didn t begin with the original textit{Frankenstein} (1931), but with the 1910
edition, where it lends half of its runtime to the conjuration of the monster. Each
iteration of Frankensteinthereafter copies this extravagant method of portraying the
creation scene, and as they do so, knowledge of Shelley s minimal description is lost.
First, we must explore why her version of events isn t inclusive of the embellishment
and indulgence on screen.
In Shelley s text, the scene consists of a few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Yet he acknowledges that this moment is not one to celebrate, and thus compensates
for this using other methods, turning the showy scene from a contradiction to a
juxtaposition that emphasises the monstrosity of not only the monster, but Victor s
actions in creating it: First, the monster lunges from a great copper sarcophagus
filled with water to make it a kind of womb. After he lands sprawling in the spill
tank under it, Victor lifts him up, vainly tries to show him how to walk, then ties him
standing to a set of chains. But when the struggling creature is struck by a falling
piece of wood and shortly goes limp, Victor concludes that he himself has killed this
luckless heir to massive birth defects. and that this evil must be destroyed...forever.
footcite{James Heffernan, Looking at the Monster: Frankenstein and Film pp.143}
This departure from the novel highlights Victor as a more paternal figure than the
text implies, making a point of the undercurrent of dread the scene should evoke,
yet contrivedly conveying Victor s repulsion at the creature in this scene, Victor is
less repulsed by the creature, as Shelley s text strongly emphasises, but more
toward his own actions. It is only when Victor wakes up to the sight of the
lumbering creature in the next scene does he cry out No! . This decision creates a
confusing tone where it could initially be misconstrued by the audience that Branagh
s Victor is merely startled by the presence of a monster he had presumed dead,
muddling up the message of Victor s regret and of the repercussions of rebirth that
Shelley intends on

51. The Societal Construction Of Sexual Scripts And
Gendered...
You lie so much, you have become to believe your own lies (140). The societal
construction of sexual scripts and gendered expectations produces a universal
emphasis on heteronormativity. As a result, any deviance from said expectations
frequently results in societal opprobrium and thus a conditioned fear for those who
fail to conform to their hetero dominant culture. In Giovanni s Room, we encounter a
young man, David, who battles with his sexuality throughout his life, even in
cultures more openly accepting than his native Brooklyn. David s own propensity
for self deception and hatred is externalized in his interactions with those who
represent the sexual identify he so desperately tries to deny and repress. This active
projection is crucial in understanding David s concept of masculinity and his
ingrained fear of rejection by the heternormative society that produced him. Societal
and familial genderand sexual socialization play a major role in David s persistent
self hatred. His father placed an extreme emphasis on masculinity during David s
childhood. David overhears him tell his aunt that, all he wants for David is that he
grow up to be a man (15). The heternormative culture of Giovanni s Room taught
David that in order to be a real man, you must desire, love, and marry a woman. As
a result of this gender and sexual socialization, David experiences persistent feelings
of self hatred and in order to cope with those feelings, he continually lies to himself
about his

53. Symbolism in Bernard Malamud s The Natural Essay
Symbolism in Bernard Malamud s The Natural
The role of symbolism in Bernard Malamud s The Natural is important in helping the
reader understand the theme and meaning of the novel as well as the time period in
which it took place. MalamudВЎВ¦s use of symbolism defines the character of Roy
Hobbs and shows how the events occurring around him affected his decisions and,
eventually, his career.
Symbolism in The Natural takes the form of characters, such as women who strongly
influenced Roy; historical events, such as the infamous 1919 World Series scandal;
and even Greek and Roman mythology. All forms of symbolism used by Malamud
are woven into the life and career of Roy Hobbs.
As a first example, women have a tremendous ... Show more content on

His desperate attitude leads him to be seduced by her, ending his bid to make the

The character of Harriet Bird serves as an ancestor figure to Iris Lemon and Memo
Paris (Helterman 25). In a way, Iris and Memo are symbolic descendants of Harriet
because they, too, have so much influence on Roy. Memo, however, closely
resembles Harriet in personality. Both of the women are very attracted to two
separate major league ball players, Memo having a relationship with RoyВЎВ¦s
teammmate Bump Bailey, and Harriet being attracted to Whammer Wabold on the
train. Both also seem to want to cause Roy harm, doing what they can to stand in the
way of his eventual stardom.
The two truly opposite personalities created by Malamud are Memo and Iris (27).
Physically, Memo is first shown wearing a black dress and has red hair; Iris is
shown wearing a red dress with a white rose attached and has black hair. Mentally,
Memo tends to use her memory to live in the past, relating everything to her
deceased lover, Bump. On the other hand, Iris uses substance to live, describing her
life with actions and words rather than by memories. Malamud creates these two
characters to force Roy to choose his fate. For his own benefit and well being, Roy
should choose Iris and stay away from Memo. MemoВЎВ¦s attractiveness and
seductiveness, however, keeps Roy from making the right decision.
Another form of symbolism that influences RoyВЎВ¦s
54. Music, By Victor Hugo
French Poet Victor Hugo once said, music expresses that which cannot be put into
words and that which cannot remain silent. We already know the saying a picture is
worth a thousand words, but music plays an important role in further expressing our
feelings embedded in a picture. Music has the ability to convey the feelings one
would like to express but is unable to do so through pictures and words. Our feelings
often come from memories; American musician Stevie Wonder(2004) mentioned,
music, at its essence, is what gives us memories. And the longer a song has existed
in our lives, the more memories we have of it. For someone like me that loves
listening to music, we almost always try to picture the scene the song is describing

People who visited days after us were not able to see it for weeks. Hence, this picture
is very precious to me.
As you would probably know, love is the best feeling in the world. It is not just
about romantic love, but self love too. Although my boyfriend and I did not meet
through the conventional way, I am always grateful that he entered my life. From
a young age, I was never a self loving type of person due to the way I was brought
up and I have had a few unsuccessful relationships just because I do not love myself
enough. But no one has ever taught me how to love myself, until I met my current
boyfriend. He taught me that I do not need approval from others as long as I am
happy with myself. He has never judged me based on my past but instead,
embraces it with me. I am very lucky to have met him, just like how lucky we were
to be able to get a clear picture of the beautiful Mount Fuji. Hence, this picture is very
valuable and significant to me.
The picture also brings back all the happy memories during the Japan trip, not just
the opportunity to see Mount Fuji clearly but also the pleasant weather throughout
the trip. You might not be able to tell how happy I was during that trip with just the
smile so here comes the role of the music like what Stevie Wonder have mentioned
earlier. The song Top Of The World by The Carpenters is going to help me better
express and you to better relate to my feelings.
