John Muir Analysis
Image Analysis Images gain their power from the factors and decisions surrounding the site of
production, site of the image, and the site of audiencing (Rose). If an observer takes an image and
considers the effects each of these sites has had on their own reading of the image s meaning, the
viewer s resulting analysis of the image will be more a more complete evaluation. The image of
Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite captures a time and place in such a way
that even a century after the image s creation, students of visual studies can still use it to better
understand how and where an image develops its meaning. The image Theodore Roosevelt and John

Looking at images like this analytically would be an excellent first step when crafting a research
paper. The image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite could inspire a visual
studies student to delve into further research on the creation of national parks, the politics surrounding
their establishment or the establishment of Yosemite specifically, or even more specific research on
either Theodore Roosevelt or John Muir. Personally, this image made me more interested in
understanding the use of images to market the national parks in the early twentieth century and how
this has changed with the rise of new technologies in the subsequent decades. Images like Theodore
Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite can also be used to supplement a completed
research paper. If one were to write a research paper about the establishment of the National Park
System, the image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite would be a good
accompaniment. Not only is it informative in its own right, but it also spurs curiosity in the viewer. Is
the image part of a series of photographs of Roosevelt s travels with Muir? Did the two men like each
other or were they just posing together for posterity? And for the modern environmentalist, the
essential question maybe what does this landscape look like now? The answers to these questions
could be answered within the text of the research paper. It is suspected that the most important images
for the research paper will be those that require additional explanation for full comprehension. This
marries the text and images into one cohesive

Virtue And Concrete In Ancient Rome
Starts off by telling us about roman sculpture, but further explains to us the importance of the arch and
concrete that would set apart the Roman s domestic architecture, public architecture, and civil
engineering. Ultimately the Romans would use both the arch and concrete to make for bigger, and
more stable structures. These structures would last longer and had the best designs added to them to
aid them in the creation of the arch. The Roman structure can still be seen today and looked back on to
be marveled. The Roman use of concrete and the arch were truly genius designs that have survived
and faced the test of time.
(Kamm, Wilson,2006,2008,2009), We can first begin to look for the development of both the concrete
and arch. Concrete made the Romans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were able to add to what Greece had founded in the making of Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. The
Romans also built theatres that had Greek concepts to them. Then we can look for the importance of
each in the life of Rome. The arch was important in making resolutions for problems for the Romans.
Concrete was used as a filler. They could use their concrete filler to form the Pantheon a circular
structure. The most important for the Romans, however, was building to extend their empire.
Ultimately their empire was even connected to the sea. They built safe routes to the sea. They used
concrete for this. They needed to communicate. So they built roads and bridges. Some of these roads
extended to Italy, Spain, Africa, Gaul, Britain. They also used concrete for this which also served their
military. Through the building of aqueducts they would supply themselves with water, and all thanks
to the concrete they became like a fortress. The arch played a role in their aqueducts. The arch played
a role in their bridges. And finally, the results of their use. From the use of concrete, the Romans

Quality and Safety Two Sides of the Same Medal
Course work A Quality Management for Airline Operations (by John Davou), City University London.
Quality and Safety. Two sides of the same medal?
Quality and Safety are two commonly used terms generally in various industries and particularly the
aviation industry. For a comprehensive comparison between Quality and Safety, the first step would
be to outline the basic dictionary definitions which are most relevant.
Quality is defined as:
The standard of something as measured against other things of similar kinds
The degree of excellence of something
General excellence of standard or level
Safety is defined as:
The quality of averting or not causing injury, danger, or loss
The state of being safe; freedom from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Safety Management Systems SMS
Safety Management System (SMS) is a term used to refer to a comprehensive business management
system designed to manage occupational safety and health elements in the workplace.[2]
A Safety Management System provides a systematic way to identify hazards and control risks while
maintaining assurance that these risk controls are effective.[3] SMS can be defined as:
a businesslike approach to safety. It is a systematic, explicit and comprehensive process for managing
safety risks. As with all management systems, a safety management system provides for goal setting,
planning, and measuring performance. A safety management system is woven into the fabric of an
organization. It becomes part of the culture, the way people do their jobs .[4]
There are three imperatives for adopting a safety management system for a business these are ethical,
legal and financial. There is an implied moral obligation placed on an employer to ensure that work
activities and the place of work to be safe, there are legislative requirements defined in just about
every jurisdiction on how this is to be achieved and there is a substantial

A Research Based On A Cross Country Data Essay
Mauro (1995) conducted a research based on a cross country data to evaluate causes of corruption
worldwide. In Corruption and Growth , he describes the relationship between corruption and
economic growth of different countries over the period 1971 1979 and 1980 1983. In his research,
Mauro used indices related to corruption from Business International Corporation which sells indices
to banks, companies, and investors. The indices are based on the responses of the BI s analysts from
more than 70 countries, and they reflect analysts perspective on conditions in a country. The indices
have values between 1 and 10, and higher values correspond to a better quality of institutions. Mauro
has used nine indices, which, in his opinion, are the best determinants of institutional efficiency:
political change (a change in institutional framework due to elections), political stability
(disintegration of political activities), probability of opposition group takeover (probability of the
opposition to gain power), stability of labor (possibility of labor disruption), relationship with
neighboring countries, terrorism, legal system (efficiency of labor environment), red tape
(bureaucracy), corruption. Mauro separated those nine indices into two groups based on how closely
the indices are correlated. The first group is labeled as bureaucratic efficiency and includes variables
such as legal system, red tape, and corruption. The second group of variables is labeled as political
stability and

The Merger Is A Final Reorganization Essay
1. The merger is a qualifying reorganization. It is a forward triangular merger, §368(a)(2)(D), because
the parent (ODI) created a subsidiary (Atlantic) with the contribution of its stock (the ODI Nonvoting
Preferred Stock), and then the target (CPI) merges into the subsidiary (Atlantic). CPI s shareholders
will receive the nonvoting preferred stock of ODI, and CPI will disappear. The requirements necessary
under §368(a)(2)(D) is that the subsidiary acquires substantially all of the target s assets, which will be
90% of net and 70% of gross. This does occur because Atlantic acquires all of CPI s assets and
liabilities. Typically, stripping off a target s assets are prohibited, but in this case the subsidiary is
acquiring the cash received from the sale of the tools division. Another requirement is that the target s
shareholders only receive stock of the parent and not the subsidiary, and in this case, the stock
transferred to CPI s shareholders are all ODI s stock. Another requirement is that the target is merged
into the subsidiary, which does occur; CPI merges into Atlantic and Atlantic survives. The final
requirements are the judicial authority requirements. There is a continuity of shareholder s interest
test, just like required in a type A merger. Even though not all three shareholders of CPI receive shares
of ODI, Harry s and Teresa s ownership is greater than 50% of CPI. Harry owns 60% (300/500) of
CPI and Teresa owns 22% (110/500) of CPI. It also meets the

The Leadership Challenge
The Leadership Challenge

Abstract
Everyone has a role in accomplishing the mission and everyone directly impacts the effectiveness of
his or her organization (Horton, p 247). According to Conger and Benjamin (1999), creditability and
authenticity lie at the heart of leadership, therefore, determining and defining one s own guiding
beliefs and assumptions lie at the heart of becoming a great leader. Providing direction and exercising
influence are the two functions at the core of most definitions of leadership. Leaders work with others
to create a shared sense of purpose and direction and to achieve shared goals. They help to establish
the conditions that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reformers During The Progressive Era
After the Civil War and during the Progressive Era there were the group of reformers that changed the
landscape the United States. These reformers were mainly comprised of men and women from the
large northern cities and rural religious communities of Wisconsin (Schultz, 2013). The industrial age
created enormous amounts of wealth, but people were living in the worst conditions and working
longer hours than ever before. The Social Gospel movement sought to improve the working
conditions, restrict the child labor laws and fight for social justice (Fales, 2013). This methodology
was directly against what the Industrialist believed. Which was a Darwinist attitude of the survival of
the fittest. The next influential reformer group that had a

The Effect Of Measuring Device Measures On Students From...
Introduction Our report focused on students from Texas A M Psychology class where each was asked
to rate their self esteem level. We have looked at two terms; reliability and validity which were used in
the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale to help assess individuals self esteem. According to the book
Essentials of Statistics of Behavioral Science by authors Frederick J. Gravetter and Larry B. Wallnau
(2014) they define reliability as how consistent a study or measuring device is. A measurement is said
to be reliable or consistent if the measurement can produce similar results if used again in similar
circumstances. Along with that they define validity as an indication of whether the measuring device
measures what it claims to. An example of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without reliability and validity it would be very difficult to decide which research should be trusted
and which should be completely disregarded. The main goal of this report was to assess reliability and
validity through the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale where participants rated their level of self esteem
from 1 7. A 1 indicated that they strongly disagree and a 7 indicating that they strongly agree with that
trait. Along with this we used Cronbachs alpha to indicate the consistency within the scale. Method
Participants at Texas A M University (N=33) were asked to report their age, which ranged from 19 to
28years of age and their gender. Twenty five of the participants were female while the remaining eight
were males. The average age of participants that was frequently reported was 20 years (SD=1.97). A
total of 10 items were recorded (Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, Appendix D, Appendix E,
Appendix F, Appendix G, Appendix H, Appendix I, Appendix J). Each student was asked to write
which trait they felt related to how they felt about themselves. For this section we used Rosenberg Self
Esteem Scale, where a 7 point Likert scale was used, a 1 indicated that they strongly disagree and a 7
indicating that they strongly agree with that trait. Throughout this report there were 5 out of the 10
traits that were reverse coded which refers to flipping the category values (i.e. 1 becomes 7, 2
becomes 6, 3 becomes 5.,etc.).

Title
To determine the half life of beer foam
Purpose
In this experiment, we will make the bear foam as much as possible by pouring fast and using warm
beer and try to estimate the half life of beer foam based on the changing of height while the foam is
collapsing.
Theory
A quantity is said to be subject to exponential decay if it decreases at a rate proportional to its value.
Symbolically, this process can be expressed by the following differential equation, where N is the
quantity and λ (lambda) is a positive number called the decay constant.

Human Growth Hormones In Children
Human growth hormones. What is really know about them? The average person probably never give
human growth hormones a second thought. Accordingly, they are what help children to grow. The
internal workings are developing to be viable and healthy organs. By the time a child reaches puberty,
the production of HGH comes to a peak. It s not until he or she turns a quarter century that the HGH
levels winds up being at or around 600ug. This number greatly decreases to equal less than 20% of
that 600ug.
On the other hand, if a child or baby has low levels of Somatropin or somatotropin (GH or HGH), he
or she may not develop at the same pace as other children with high levels of HGH. HGH affects the
child s growth. The child would end ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This could be the reason for the controversy surrounding HGH and its value.

There is evidence to support HGH as being effective as an anti aging treatment. People refer to it as
the infamous fountain of youth. Nevertheless, there aren t any case studies to back this claim up. It can
be confusing and difficult to know who to believe. A good suggestion is to make sure the product

They are ended whenever necessary or when it suits them, and the relationships are without depth or

weaknesses in people, and make it a personal goal to target those weaknesses. They tend to carry a
very low level of anxiety, and are rarely stressed. They are unlikely to hold a job for any length of
time, as they begin to question the ways of their employers and they become uninterested in the tasks
assigned to them. Their impulsivity keeps them from planning long term, which results in a high
occurrence of debt fault (Wood.)
While there have been no outwardly successful treatments for Antisocial Personality Disorder, many
of the disorders individuals never seek treatment alone, as they see no reason to conform to the rules
of society with which they find no satisfaction. Instead, the individual will be prompted by his family
or friends, or will be forced by a court system to seek treatment, and then will usually comply, and
will consent to treatment. Much of the recent treatment for Antisocial Personality Disorder has been
behavioral, and has not been based around biological or medicinal findings.
One type of therapy used is psychotherapy, which should focus on helping the individual understand
the nature and consequences of his disorder so he can be helped to control his behavior (Black, 2000).
Another type of therapy used is cognitive therapy,

and a place to live. He finds work as a dishwasher in a restaurant hoping to eventually advance from

The antagonist of the story would be the landlord, Rosemary and the other tenants of the home. This is
because her portrayed way of life attracted the narrator to Rosemary s house, which in return almost
solely based his decision on living there. Later in the story Rosemary changed into another person that
the main character almost could not recognize. With her change in appearance from vintage clothing
to more updated clothing, as well as her almost disregard for her so much loved antiques when the
main character first moved into the house. The other tenants, mainly the character Chaz, would
constantly ridicule the main character and seem as if their lives were more how life should be lived. In
the entire story being told, there are no exact dates or times stated by the main character as to when the
story being told took place, but from reading through the entire story, it could be concluded by readers
that the story is from a more modern period of time. With the way the main character refers to the out

how the other characters, such as the main character s father and the tenant Chaz always ridiculed the

Describe The Dark Ages
You ve probably heard about the big and scary Roman Empire, or the rise of the renaissance, but it
seems like most people don t notice that there were actually 1000 years in between those historic
events. Those who do know about it call this time period the Dark Ages because of its lack of
progression. This statement however is actually contrary to the truth; in fact there is probably a lot of
everyday things that wouldn t even be existent if the Dark Ages didn t happen. In this essay we will
learn about some of those things and why I believe the Dark Ages is an inappropriate term used to
describe this time period, that should instead be more commonly known as the Middle Ages. Though
media sources like The American Cyclopedia were interpreted in a way which made the Dark Ages a
bad thing; it wasn t intended to be that way. But instead it was intended to mean that we didn t have a
good grasp of what happened in that time period. Once researchers learned about the things that
happened during the Dark Ages they started referring them to the Middle Ages to try and scrap the

To What Extent Was German Aggression the Cause of the...
Some historians argue that blame for WW1 is with Germany, through her aggressive foreign policy,
whilst others believe it to be with Austria Hungary for instigating the clash in the Balkans, which
eventually, it is argued, created war. Many believe it was the effect of colonial imperialism, and greed
that compelled the world leaders to launch an attack enhancing their individual status in the balance of
European and World power. The issue of blame is one which has caused vast controversy throughout
history, and was controversially re opened in the 1960 s by Fischer. Other theories include, the impact

France agreed to fund the Russian military programme and subsequently, France and Russia joined
together in mutual fear of Germany. This reinforces the claim that Alliances escalated small conflicts
into world wide competition. Historians suggest that alliances made violence almost inevitable and
comment that without them, international squabbles would never have led to such a catastrophic war.
For instance Germany s aggression in Morocco was an attempt to display Germany as a more
necessary and influential ally than Britain. It was however, unsuccessful as Germany s increasing
threat to the European distribution of power, and the Kaisers menace to relations that encouraged
France and Britain to launch the Entente trio of WW1. It can be argued that Germany more frequently
exploited the alliances than the members of the Entente, as emphasised by Fischer, who demonstrates
how whilst the alliances were formed for defence, they were in most cases not implemented with the
same aim considered, becoming offensive. As Schmitt believes, the alliances when put to the final test,

Women s Struggle Towards Self Emancipation
Throughout Dangarembga s seminal prose novel and Bâ s epistolary novel, the authors explore the
omnipresent nature of gender inequality in a society and the inequitable standards of life that all
women have to either endure or reject. Both texts present their protagonists, Tambudzai and
Ramatoulaye one a developing adolescent, the other a widowed mother of twelve, reflecting on the
struggles of being women in their respective patriarchal societies of Zimbabwe and Senegal. Through
an investigation into the social, cultural and psychological contexts, the texts contribute an
understanding into the personal struggles of women through portrayals of the conflicting tensions
between patriarchy and the female autonomy, the significance of female solidarity and the woman s
struggle towards self emancipation and the resulting formation of identity.
Throughout both Nervous Conditions and So Long A Letter, the authors expose the need for women to
secure their own individuality by fighting the subjugation from patriarchal structures. In Nervous
Conditions, through her utilisation of juxtaposition between the characterisation Maiguru and Lucia,
Dangarembga highlights the need to women to take action. Although Maiguru holds a PhD and is
equally as capable as her husband, she is restricted by the expectations of her society to do so called

My Friend s Fiesta De Quinceanera
No mama coño there are no more damn ties that match with this shirt! I immediately answered back to
my mom, annoyed. How could that possibly happen to me? I was not allowed to go and the sun was
already going down. Out of all the nights it had to be that one. My short temper caused me to get in
trouble with my mom and all I had to do was find a tie that matched the shirt. I truly believed I would
have ended surely staying home and missing out my friend s quinces. It was all I was looking forward
to since i found out i was invited. Even though I was really excited it wasn t because it was my friend

never guessed would have affected my life so much. Well anyways, how can it happen I had no idea
but it did, tragically the unavoidable occurred. It s quiet average from that age after all I was only 15,

on how amazing the significant other is or how foolish you are yourself. Nothing horrifying can

grade and that someone else left you for someone else. Well it really just ruins you makes you forget

Aromatherapy Essay
Aromatherapy is a therapeutic practice that incorporates olfactory stimulation into therapeutic
treatment. This form of therapy is seen as a natural technique to heal a person s mind, body, and soul
(Ali et al., 2015). There have been many ancient civilizations that have used this type of
complementary and alternative medicine. These civilizations such as Egypt, China, and India have
been using oils for over 6,000 years to treat an array of different ailments (Ali et al., 2015). Along with
ancient civilizations, there have been over 200 references of the use of oils in the Bible (Perry, N.,
Perry, E., 2006). Therapeutic oils have been a part of history and have reemerged into society as a
holistic alternative therapy. The therapeutic oils ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Voice of Linkin Park
The Voice of Linkin Park Over Linkin Park s entire career, they have won over sixty awards ( Linkin

massive radio hits (Leahey). Linkin Park went through many changes in order to get to where they are
now. The band was eventually signed to Warner Bros and proved to be worth the investment. There
are numerous ways to determine the quality and worth of a band and their success. Although Linkin

Hybrid Theory reached Diamond Status when their sales topped ten million (Leahey). Such an
accomplishment allowed the album to be considered as one of the most successful debuts ever
(Leahey). Linkin Park later received three Grammys nominations for the debut album as well. In the
2000s, Linkin Park not only received over sixty awards, but they also were nominated for a hundred
and sixty nine more (Leahey). It should also be taken into consideration that the statistics listed below
only refer to one of five albums. Some bands don t even reach Linkin Park s status of worth after their
first album when compared to their entire career. The amount of years that a band has been together
does not necessarily mean they are better or the best. For example, some of the bands that did not even
come close to making the list have never even won a Grammy let alone been nominated for one.
Although many people have their own opinion as to what a good band entails, based upon the criteria
that is created and evaluated, any band can justifiably be the best rock band. Based upon evaluating
rock bands on their number of awards and sales, Linkin Park is arguably the best rock band of the
2000s. There is no denying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Not everyone is going to
easily agree that Linkin Park is the best rock band. On the other hand, based upon the criteria created,
arguments can be made as to why they under some circumstances that they are. Some of the other

Comparing King Henry IV And King Lear
Similarities between four characters and two families are prevalent throughout William Shakespeare s
King Henry IV Part One and King Lear. The comparisons demonstrate characters demanding
attributes, their plots for war, and their loyalty to friends King Henry and King Lear parallel each
other regarding their egotistical attitude as they both rudely command others. King Henry dictates
Worcester to get thee gone (H4 1.3.14) so that he does not have to see him. This shows how King
Henry is self centered as he rudely orders Worcester to get out. King Lear also commands one of his
servants to go get it ready (KL 1.4.8), demonstrating how he too has an egotistical attitude because he
expects people to wait on him constantly. King Henry also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

1. Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so
important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. My whole life I
have always wanted to do something where people will remember me. Throughout this course, I have
learned that I do not know what I want to do with my chosen major. I do not regret majoring in
Criminal Justice because I m positive I want to do something within the criminal justice system. I
have learned that I m open to different ideas and career paths. Through the course, I have learned that
I m a great multi tasker, I m always prepared ahead of time with my deadlines and I never had to give
excuses as to why something is not done on time.

feel I ve learned a lot about myself, and life after college. I spent about half of the year wearing
sweatpants, baggy, flashy clothing, and I was okay with that because it s important to feel
comfortable. This semester, I have also learned that if you dress well you get the respectable attention
and needed. When I had the interview and had to dress up, I noticed many people looking my way and
praising me, I felt respected and felt good about myself as well. Stepping out of my comfort zone has
never felt so good. I believe this would help me in my future career to try new things and take risks.

Across the different field of applications, several routing protocols have been proposed to achieve
enhanced network lifetime via energy efficient transmission [5]. The main cause for the energy
depletion in batteries in WSN is the communication required to transmit and receive data to other
nodes. Mostly the energy consumption in the network is due to transmission and reception activities.
However, the energy consumed for the processing operation is less important than the energy used for
communication [6].
The wireless sensor networks mainly comprise stationary and mobile sensors that are deployed
randomly inside the network and they collect data from the surroundings via wireless communication
links [7, 8].
Single hop or multi hop protocols are used to further transmit collected data to one or more base
stations or sink [9]. An enormous amount of structured and unstructured data known as big data is
generated rapidly that requires a flexible and reliable storage infrastructure [10]. Sensor nodes transfer
the obtained useful information from a defined network either directly or via a chain of CHs to the BS
[11]. In designing a routing protocol for WSN the main concern is the energy efficiency [12]. Thus,
energy depletion of one node may vary from other, i.e., nodes near the BS or sink have more energy
depletion than the other nodes. This results in the creation of energy holes near the sink [13].
Further transmission of data towards the sink is not

2. Explain the hepatocellular changes that occur with the above diagnosis. The liver has many roles in
the body that associate it with many systems. For example, it acts as a digestive organ by secreting
bile for the breakdown of fat (Copstead, 2010). The liver also removes bilirubin from the blood,
temporarily stores blood and synthesizes the blood clotting factors (Copstead, 2010). Other functions
of the liver are; removing toxins from the blood, metabolizing both sex hormones and steroid
hormones. Any damage to the liver can in turn disrupt any of these processes and functions that it

horror. The stories that fall under the genre of horror include a few essential elements: a villain or one

The Colonization Of Uganda And Kenya
1. Introduction
The colonization of Uganda and Kenya is the reason why they are bilateral countries meaning they
share many of the same interest such as political interest, economic interests etc... Being colonized by
the United Kingdom has affected their history forever, and has made it extremely difficult to be in the
same state as the rest of the world but also allowed both countries to be close with each other as they
shared the same experiences. As they gained their independence, they later formed an East African
Community along with Tanzania who was also colonized by the UK which created many benefits in
the long run. In this paper, I will investigate the benefits of the East African Community over time
specifically with Kenya s and Uganda s trade with coffee.
1.1. Coffee History
Coffee trees were first introduced by the French which were located near the capital of Kenya,
Nairobi. Nairobi was used as the nucleus around which Kenyan coffee growing developed. The British
and European farmers became rich by farming coffee on the backs of the Kenyan workers. With more
experience, Kenyan farmers became more and more powerful. With over 1 million Kikuyu tribe
members calling it home they had real land claims according to the Europeans.

country, and has been a part of Ugandan life for centuries. Over time growing coffee was not seen as a

Women During The World War
The 1950s is an era remembered for the Cold War, communism, and June Cleaver. Most historians, if
asked about this period, will mention the Red Scare and the fight to stop the pervasive reach of
communism in post war America. Most feminists will recall the iconic image of June Cleaver and the
detrimental effect this perfect housewife had on the women s movement after the massive employment
of women during the Second World War. Often forgotten and missing from the pages of history are the
millions of women who were ostracized and subjected to discrimination based upon their sexuality.
These women lost federal jobs, their military careers came to a halt, and, in some cases, were
blacklisted from applying for civilian jobs. Not only were these women forced to overcome gender
inequality in order to support themselves in the workforce, they were also ostracized by society and
endured unending discrimination from the government and police on the basis of their sexuality. In the
face of this tremendous cultural pressure these women carved their own communities and lives out on
the edges of the social order. The pervasive fear of homosexuals in the 1950s bred an era of anti gay
legislation that greatly contributed to the horrific discrimination against lesbians and the development
of a lesbian subculture. This fear, known as the Lavender Scare, led to a severe climate of oppression
for the emerging lesbian subculture following the Second World War. As a result of medical

Somali The Somali Banking System
The Somali Banking System

AEDE 4536
21 November 2015
A: Introduction and Problem Description Somalia is a war torn nation in East Africa that has been
systematically affected by political, economic, and social issues for decades. These issues have
profoundly impacted the way that the nation functions as a whole. One of the most significant
economic issues that plagues Somalia today is its lack of an effective central bank, and the general
scarcity of banks throughout the country. The Central Bank of Somalia does exist, but it is essentially
inoperative, as it has no substantial authority and has not officially printed a single bank note since the
1990s1. Currently, the Central Bank of Somalia does not dictate monetary policy whatsoever, and only
conducts surveys as it attempts to reconstruct itself 2. Because of this, counterfeit currency makes up a
sizable proportion of the money in circulation, and most Somalis rely on remittances transferred from
family members abroad to survive. In fact, it is estimated that around 45% of Somalia s economy is
made up of these remittances that come from places like Kenya, Ethiopia, and the United States,
where large populations of Somali refugees and immigrants currently live3.
Not surprisingly, the lack of a banking system has led to currency substitution that appears in many
forms. Some use foreign currency or the plentiful counterfeit bills, while others use money issued by

The Importance Of Technology And Its Influence In Our Society
Is the humanity given the correct use to the technology? Nowadays, the advancement of technology
not only has brought numerous discoveries for our benefit but also has changed different aspects of
our culture. As R. Buckminster Fuller stated, Humanity is acquiring all the right technology for all the
wrong reasons . Technology is the main influence in our society; specifically, turning it into a
sedentary society, increasing the rate of violence, and losing the communication bond in families.
Most of the cases, technology represents a threat toward us; affecting aspects as our health, jobs, and
education, and making sedentary societies. First, it affects our health due to lack physical activities. To
illustrate, 13 percent of the population around the world suffers from obesity, and the country which
has the highest level of obesity is the United States of America that is also the main global power.
After that, machines have replaced the handwork that provokes unemployment. For instance, in the
recent decades, companies needed one thousand employees to make them work; in contrast, actual
companies only need one employee to make one thousand machines work. The last aspect belongs to
education because of technology makes field works and investigations easier. In most of the majors,
teachers prefer that students make a static research by looking for information on the internet instead
of making a field research doing experiments, analyzing diverse factors, and making their own
summarize from what they research. Technology not only changes the lifestyle of the mankind but
also modify the manner how its members behave themselves. The rate of violence has increased since
technology has become in the main pusher. To begin, violence has seized of our media motivating the
offensive attitudes. Presently, this is a reality because of the majority of TV shows, movies, and series
present topics such as drug trafficking, physical and physiological aggressions, and extortions. Next,
the yearning for everything is another point that changes the behavior of societies. As an imperfection
of every human, it always wants to stand out of the rest. This gives rise to discussions and
competitions to know who should

To organise any events or fulfil the duties I would happily spend some of my break. I will take the
time out of my days to catch up in my studies and organise any events instead of watching TV. Even
though I will try to fit everything in and not just stay at home all day watching TV I would still give
myself some free time so I don t get stressed out or overworked. I would also be prepared and ask for
deadlines to make sure I do the tasks on time. I may even make a routine for myself for example when
I get home at around 4, I could change, eat and shower at a certain and then spend a few hours on
revising and homework, then spend some time on fulfilling my responsibilities as a student leader.
6. Which public figurehead/leader is inspirational to you and why?
My inspirational leader would be Nelson Mandela, Nelson Mandela was a very important leader in
history, and he sacrificed most of his life for equal rights and opportunities to black people. Nelson
Mandela was the first black South African President and fought to stop racism. Mandela was
imprisoned in 1962; he spent 27 years in prison simply to save millions of people from slavery. For
that reasons he is my hero and my inspirational leader, he inspires me to be a better person and lead

Celie Character Analysis
What happens when we approach a lane closure while driving on the freeway, and a car cuts rapidly in
front of us just before the lane closes, forcing us to brake abruptly? What happens when a romantic
partner accuses us of flirting when we have done no such thing? What happens when we hear a news
report telling us that 4 million children in the United States go hungry every day? What happens when
you see a man shouting and hurting a woman? Or when you find a girl is rapped by her father and
becomes pregnant? Perhaps the most common response to these scenarios is anger or sadness is a
human emotion we all experience in a daily life. We feel angry after the death of someone we love or
when losing something or when we are being neglected or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First she is rejected by the society as she is black woman. She is raped by her father and got two
children. Then her father separates her from her sister. Celie s natural compassion makes it very
difficult for her to hate anyone, although she becomes very angry when she finds out how Albert hides
her letters from her sister. Physical violence appears in the relationship between Harpo and his wife
Sophia. He always beats her because she is regarded as an object. Those treatments to them make
them live a painful life and live under man s domination. They live in country separated from the
white people, as white people consider themselves superior to any black. But their anger leads them to
fight for themselves as they refuse to be silent and revolute against oppression and let their anger
rennet over. Sofia s aggression results in her experience at the hand of police as she revolted and
rebelled against the white mayor. But Celie s oppression leads her to gain strength and becomes
independent instead of being depressed. She writes letter to God as he is the only person in her life
and He is the only a way of hope for her. Those women make their anger loud although at the
beginning their anger was

Essay on Girl Interrupted Review
One popular cultural myth about the mentally ill is the archetype of the Sexy Crazy Girl , which we ve
seen in movies, comic books, and music. Losing your grip with reality is not a glamorous subject, but
that s not what you get from Girl, Interrupted. It is apparent that all the girls in the movie had some
type of dysfunctional personality, and bad things happen to some of them, but it just did not seem
realistic. First off, most of the patients prtrayed were young, which made the care facility look like a
youth home rather than a mental institution. but only the main (well known) stars, (Jolie and Ryder)
were focal piont. I ll also note that about half the young girls in the movie, Ryder and Jolie included,
simply don t look like girls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems she s playing nearly the same sexy vixen she s played in a few other films already; just this
time, she s in a t shirt, and occasionally gets tied to a bed. It d be interesting to see Jolie really stretch
beyond her type; maybe in a Jane Austen movie or playing a nun.
Overall, Girl, Interrupted feels like a movie that could ve been rawer, more intense, and more
confrontational... ie, a lot less Hollywood. I found myself wondering what this adaptation of Kaysen s
book would ve been like if it had been done on a shoestring budget with unknown young actresses and
a fledgling director. Some Folks Call it a Sling Blade, the short film by Billy Bob Thornton that led to
the film Sling Blade came to mind. I m also noticing that that s the 2nd time I referenced another film
that is primarily about men, not women. Maybe we need an excellent film about mentally ill young
women, and maybe Girl, Interrupted could ve been that film... but it isn t.
Quickly summed up, this film may indeed be compared to a female version of One Flew Over the
Cuckoo s Nest, except where that film was a rebellion tale, Girl, Interrupted appears to be more about
self discovery. Though this film has been long in development, and many actresses vied for the
leading role, the casting call was even more crowded for the supporting roles. In particular, though I
haven t yet read the book, and so I don t know the

The Constitution sets up the government in the United States of America. This is split into three
branches: Congress, which is the Legislative, the President also known as Executive and the Supreme
Courts also known as the judicial. Each branch has its own power and structure. The first branch is
Legislative (Congress). This branch is bicameral; it consists of the Senate and the House of
Representatives. The House of Representatives has 435 seats, 19 committees, and 84 sub committees.
They have the power to create laws and to impeach presidents. All bills that consist of raising money

Being for or against the President of the United States of America is nothing new to the people of this
country, but to remove a President from his seat in the White House is not as simple. Only the House
of Representatives and Senate can make the final decision of whether to truly consider and move
forward with the impeachment of a president. Although a trial must be held, it is Congress who calls
such an event to stand. ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT EXHIBITED BY THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN THE NAME OF ITSELF AND
OF THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AGAINST WILLIAM JEFFERSON

Construction Contracts Essay
Chapter 4 Construction Contracts 1. Name and briefly describe each of the two basic types of
competitively bid construction contracts. Which type would be most likely used for building the piers
to support a large suspension bridge. Why? Two basic types of competitively bid construction
contracts are lump sum and the unit price contract. The lump sum contract is when the contractor
agrees to complete all work for a pre determined price including profit and the contract. The unit price
contract is when the contractor quotes work on units separately instead of entire project. Price is based
on units of work performed, and cost varies depending on the quantities of units. Building the piers to

4. Name two types of negotiated contracts and describe the method of payment and incentive concept.
Cost + percent of cost is the method of payment which is related to the cost of the job, the larger the
cost of the job the higher the amount of fee that is to be paid by the owner. There is a little incentive to
be efficient and economical in the construction but is subjected to abuse. Cost + fixed fee is paid
regardless of the variation of the reimbursable cost factor. This method gives contractors an incentive
to get the job done as quickly as possible in order to recover his fee over the shortest time frame. 5.
What is meant by unbalancing bid? What type of contract is implied? Give an example of how a bid is
unbalanced. A bid is unbalanced when some contractors use this method to profit greatly on a project.
Contractors do this by changing unit prices of various bid items to the point where the price does not
reflect the true cost of those items. The unit price contract is implied to an unbalancing bid. An
example of how a bid could be unbalanced occurs when a contractor uses the method of unstable
bidding by overbidding in the beginning of the contract in order to reduce his finances and then will
underbid at the end of the project. 6. Why is cost plus a percentage of cost type of contract not used to
a great extent? A cost plus, is a fixed price contract where the contractor paid for all the allowed
expenses to certain limit

  • 2. John Muir Analysis Image Analysis Images gain their power from the factors and decisions surrounding the site of production, site of the image, and the site of audiencing (Rose). If an observer takes an image and considers the effects each of these sites has had on their own reading of the image s meaning, the viewer s resulting analysis of the image will be more a more complete evaluation. The image of Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite captures a time and place in such a way that even a century after the image s creation, students of visual studies can still use it to better understand how and where an image develops its meaning. The image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite features the President and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at images like this analytically would be an excellent first step when crafting a research paper. The image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite could inspire a visual studies student to delve into further research on the creation of national parks, the politics surrounding their establishment or the establishment of Yosemite specifically, or even more specific research on either Theodore Roosevelt or John Muir. Personally, this image made me more interested in understanding the use of images to market the national parks in the early twentieth century and how this has changed with the rise of new technologies in the subsequent decades. Images like Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite can also be used to supplement a completed research paper. If one were to write a research paper about the establishment of the National Park System, the image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite would be a good accompaniment. Not only is it informative in its own right, but it also spurs curiosity in the viewer. Is the image part of a series of photographs of Roosevelt s travels with Muir? Did the two men like each other or were they just posing together for posterity? And for the modern environmentalist, the essential question maybe what does this landscape look like now? The answers to these questions could be answered within the text of the research paper. It is suspected that the most important images for the research paper will be those that require additional explanation for full comprehension. This marries the text and images into one cohesive ... • 3. Virtue And Concrete In Ancient Rome Starts off by telling us about roman sculpture, but further explains to us the importance of the arch and concrete that would set apart the Roman s domestic architecture, public architecture, and civil engineering. Ultimately the Romans would use both the arch and concrete to make for bigger, and more stable structures. These structures would last longer and had the best designs added to them to aid them in the creation of the arch. The Roman structure can still be seen today and looked back on to be marveled. The Roman use of concrete and the arch were truly genius designs that have survived and faced the test of time. (Kamm, Wilson,2006,2008,2009), We can first begin to look for the development of both the concrete and arch. Concrete made the Romans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were able to add to what Greece had founded in the making of Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. The Romans also built theatres that had Greek concepts to them. Then we can look for the importance of each in the life of Rome. The arch was important in making resolutions for problems for the Romans. Concrete was used as a filler. They could use their concrete filler to form the Pantheon a circular structure. The most important for the Romans, however, was building to extend their empire. Ultimately their empire was even connected to the sea. They built safe routes to the sea. They used concrete for this. They needed to communicate. So they built roads and bridges. Some of these roads extended to Italy, Spain, Africa, Gaul, Britain. They also used concrete for this which also served their military. Through the building of aqueducts they would supply themselves with water, and all thanks to the concrete they became like a fortress. The arch played a role in their aqueducts. Quality and Safety are two commonly used terms generally in various industries and particularly the aviation industry. • 6. A Research Based On A Cross Country Data Essay Mauro (1995) conducted a research based on a cross country data to evaluate causes of corruption worldwide. In Corruption and Growth , he describes the relationship between corruption and economic growth of different countries over the period 1971 1979 and 1980 1983. In his research, Mauro used indices related to corruption from Business International Corporation which sells indices to banks, companies, and investors. The indices are based on the responses of the BI s analysts from more than 70 countries, and they reflect analysts perspective on conditions in a country. The indices have values between 1 and 10, and higher values correspond to a better quality of institutions. Mauro has used nine indices, which, in his opinion, are the best determinants of institutional efficiency: political change (a change in institutional framework due to elections), political stability (disintegration of political activities), probability of opposition group takeover (probability of the opposition to gain power), stability of labor (possibility of labor disruption), relationship with neighboring countries, terrorism, legal system (efficiency of labor environment), red tape (bureaucracy), corruption. Mauro separated those nine indices into two groups based on how closely the indices are correlated. The first group is labeled as bureaucratic efficiency and includes variables such as legal system, red tape, and corruption. The second group of variables is labeled as political stability and ... • 7. The Merger Is A Final Reorganization Essay 1. The merger is a qualifying reorganization. It is a forward triangular merger, §368(a)(2)(D), because the parent (ODI) created a subsidiary (Atlantic) with the contribution of its stock (the ODI Nonvoting Preferred Stock), and then the target (CPI) merges into the subsidiary (Atlantic). CPI s shareholders will receive the nonvoting preferred stock of ODI, and CPI will disappear. The requirements necessary under §368(a)(2)(D) is that the subsidiary acquires substantially all of the target s assets, which will be 90% of net and 70% of gross. This does occur because Atlantic acquires all of CPI s assets and liabilities. Typically, stripping off a target s assets are prohibited, but in this case the subsidiary is acquiring the cash received from the sale of the tools division. Another requirement is that the target s shareholders only receive stock of the parent and not the subsidiary, and in this case, the stock transferred to CPI s shareholders are all ODI s stock. Another requirement is that the target is merged into the subsidiary, which does occur; CPI merges into Atlantic and Atlantic survives. The final requirements are the judicial authority requirements. There is a continuity of shareholder s interest test, just like required in a type A merger. Even though not all three shareholders of CPI receive shares of ODI, Harry s and Teresa s ownership is greater than 50% of CPI. Harry owns 60% (300/500) of CPI and Teresa owns 22% (110/500) of CPI. These reformers were mainly comprised of men and women from the large northern cities and rural religious communities of Wisconsin (Schultz, 2013). The industrial age created enormous amounts of wealth, but people were living in the worst conditions and working longer hours than ever before. The Social Gospel movement sought to improve the working conditions, restrict the child labor laws and fight for social justice (Fales, 2013). We have looked at two terms; reliability and validity which were used in the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale to help assess individuals self esteem. According to the book Essentials of Statistics of Behavioral Science by authors Frederick J. Gravetter and Larry B. Wallnau (2014) they define reliability as how consistent a study or measuring device is. Without reliability and validity it would be very difficult to decide which research should be trusted and which should be completely disregarded. The main goal of this report was to assess reliability and validity through the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale where participants rated their level of self esteem from 1 7. A 1 indicated that they strongly disagree and a 7 indicating that they strongly agree with that trait. Along with this we used Cronbachs alpha to indicate the consistency within the scale. Method Participants at Texas A M University (N=33) were asked to report their age, which ranged from 19 to 28years of age and their gender. Twenty five of the participants were female while the remaining eight were males. The average age of participants that was frequently reported was 20 years (SD=1.97). A total of 10 items were recorded (Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, Appendix D, Appendix E, Appendix F, Appendix G, Appendix H, Appendix I, Appendix J). Each student was asked to write which trait they felt related to how they felt about themselves. For this section we used Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, where a 7 point Likert scale was used, a 1 indicated that they strongly disagree and a 7 indicating that they strongly agree with that trait. Throughout this report there were 5 out of the 10 traits that were reverse coded which refers to flipping the category values (i.e. 1 becomes 7, 2 becomes 6, 3 becomes 5.,etc.). ... It s not until he or she turns a quarter century that the HGH levels winds up being at or around 600ug. This number greatly decreases to equal less than 20% of that 600ug. They are unlikely to hold a job for any length of time, as they begin to question the ways of their employers and they become uninterested in the tasks assigned to them. Their impulsivity keeps them from planning long term, which results in a high occurrence of debt fault (Wood.) Instead, the individual will be prompted by his family or friends, or will be forced by a court system to seek treatment, and then will usually comply, and will consent to treatment. Much of the recent treatment for Antisocial Personality Disorder has been behavioral, and has not been based around biological or medicinal findings. Describe The Dark Ages You ve probably heard about the big and scary Roman Empire, or the rise of the renaissance, but it seems like most people don t notice that there were actually 1000 years in between those historic events. Those who do know about it call this time period the Dark Ages because of its lack of progression. This statement however is actually contrary to the truth; in fact there is probably a lot of everyday things that wouldn t even be existent if the Dark Ages didn t happen. In this essay we will learn about some of those things and why I believe the Dark Ages is an inappropriate term used to describe this time period, that should instead be more commonly known as the Middle Ages. Though media sources like The American Cyclopedia were interpreted in a way which made the Dark Ages a bad thing; it wasn t intended to be that way. But instead it was intended to mean that we didn t have a good grasp of what happened in that time period. Once researchers learned about the things that happened during the Dark Ages they started referring them to the Middle Ages to try and scrap the idea that there ... The Magna Carta gave more power to the nobles and less power to the king; this was set in place so the king had to consult his nobles before making decision. Some historians argue that blame for WW1 is with Germany, through her aggressive foreign policy, whilst others believe it to be with Austria Hungary for instigating the clash in the Balkans, which eventually, it is argued, created war. Many believe it was the effect of colonial imperialism, and greed that compelled the world leaders to launch an attack enhancing their individual status in the balance of European and World power. The issue of blame is one which has caused vast controversy throughout history, and was controversially re opened in the 1960 s by Fischer. This reinforces the claim that Alliances escalated small conflicts into world wide competition. Historians suggest that alliances made violence almost inevitable and comment that without them, international squabbles would never have led to such a catastrophic war. For instance Germany s aggression in Morocco was an attempt to display Germany as a more necessary and influential ally than Britain. It was however, unsuccessful as Germany s increasing threat to the European distribution of power, and the Kaisers menace to relations that encouraged France and Britain to launch the Entente trio of WW1. It can be argued that Germany more frequently exploited the alliances than the members of the Entente, as emphasised by Fischer, who demonstrates how whilst the alliances were formed for defence, they were in most cases not implemented with the same aim considered, becoming offensive. As Schmitt believes, the alliances when put to the final test, almost mechanically operated to convert a local quarrel into war. However, Joll suggests, the alliances alone were insufficient for causing the war. He suggests that they influenced the readiness of military plans, but didn t increase the opportunities for them being implemented. • 19. Women s Struggle Towards Self Emancipation Throughout Dangarembga s seminal prose novel and Bâ s epistolary novel, the authors explore the omnipresent nature of gender inequality in a society and the inequitable standards of life that all women have to either endure or reject. Both texts present their protagonists, Tambudzai and Ramatoulaye one a developing adolescent, the other a widowed mother of twelve, reflecting on the struggles of being women in their respective patriarchal societies of Zimbabwe and Senegal. Through an investigation into the social, cultural and psychological contexts, the texts contribute an understanding into the personal struggles of women through portrayals of the conflicting tensions between patriarchy and the female autonomy, the significance of female solidarity and the woman s struggle towards self emancipation and the resulting formation of identity. Throughout both Nervous Conditions and So Long A Letter, the authors expose the need for women to secure their own individuality by fighting the subjugation from patriarchal structures. In Nervous Conditions, through her utilisation of juxtaposition between the characterisation Maiguru and Lucia, Dangarembga highlights the need to women to take action. Although Maiguru holds a PhD and is equally as capable as her husband, she is restricted by the expectations of her society to do so called feminine tasks such as housework around the house and realises that when I was in England I glimpsed for a little while the things I could have ... Across the different field of applications, several routing protocols have been proposed to achieve enhanced network lifetime via energy efficient transmission [5]. The main cause for the energy depletion in batteries in WSN is the communication required to transmit and receive data to other nodes. Mostly the energy consumption in the network is due to transmission and reception activities. However, the energy consumed for the processing operation is less important than the energy used for communication [6]. The wireless sensor networks mainly comprise stationary and mobile sensors that are deployed randomly inside the network and they collect data from the surroundings via wireless communication links [7, 8]. Single hop or multi hop protocols are used to further transmit collected data to one or more base stations or sink [9]. An enormous amount of structured and unstructured data known as big data is generated rapidly that requires a flexible and reliable storage infrastructure [10]. Sensor nodes transfer the obtained useful information from a defined network either directly or via a chain of CHs to the BS [11]. In designing a routing protocol for WSN the main concern is the energy efficiency [12]. Thus, energy depletion of one node may vary from other, i.e., nodes near the BS or sink have more energy depletion than the other nodes. This results in the creation of energy holes near the sink [13]. Further transmission of data towards the sink is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Often forgotten and missing from the pages of history are the millions of women who were ostracized and subjected to discrimination based upon their sexuality. These women lost federal jobs, their military careers came to a halt, and, in some cases, were blacklisted from applying for civilian jobs. Not only were these women forced to overcome gender inequality in order to support themselves in the workforce, they were also ostracized by society and endured unending discrimination from the government and police on the basis of their sexuality. In the face of this tremendous cultural pressure these women carved their own communities and lives out on the edges of the social order. The pervasive fear of homosexuals in the 1950s bred an era of anti gay legislation that greatly contributed to the horrific discrimination against lesbians and the development of a lesbian subculture. This fear, known as the Lavender Scare, led to a severe climate of oppression for the emerging lesbian subculture following the Second World War. As a result of medical ... • 36. Somali The Somali Banking System The Somali Banking System Anna Koontz Dr. Darcy Hartman AEDE 4536 21 November 2015 A: Introduction and Problem Description Somalia is a war torn nation in East Africa that has been systematically affected by political, economic, and social issues for decades. These issues have profoundly impacted the way that the nation functions as a whole. One of the most significant economic issues that plagues Somalia today is its lack of an effective central bank, and the general scarcity of banks throughout the country. The Central Bank of Somalia does exist, but it is essentially inoperative, as it has no substantial authority and has not officially printed a single bank note since the 1990s1. Currently, the Central Bank of Somalia does not dictate monetary policy whatsoever, and only conducts surveys as it attempts to reconstruct itself 2. Because of this, counterfeit currency makes up a sizable proportion of the money in circulation, and most Somalis rely on remittances transferred from family members abroad to survive. In fact, it is estimated that around 45% of Somalia s economy is made up of these remittances that come from places like Kenya, Ethiopia, and the United States, where large populations of Somali refugees and immigrants currently live3. Not surprisingly, the lack of a banking system has led to currency substitution that appears in many forms. Some use foreign currency or the plentiful counterfeit bills, while others use money issued by regional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Importance Of Technology And Its Influence In Our Society Is the humanity given the correct use to the technology? Nowadays, the advancement of technology not only has brought numerous discoveries for our benefit but also has changed different aspects of our culture. As R. Buckminster Fuller stated, Humanity is acquiring all the right technology for all the wrong reasons . Technology is the main influence in our society; specifically, turning it into a sedentary society, increasing the rate of violence, and losing the communication bond in families. Most of the cases, technology represents a threat toward us; affecting aspects as our health, jobs, and education, and making sedentary societies. First, it affects our health due to lack physical activities. To illustrate, 13 percent of the population around the world suffers from obesity, and the country which has the highest level of obesity is the United States of America that is also the main global power. After that, machines have replaced the handwork that provokes unemployment. For instance, in the recent decades, companies needed one thousand employees to make them work; in contrast, actual companies only need one employee to make one thousand machines work. The last aspect belongs to education because of technology makes field works and investigations easier. In most of the majors, teachers prefer that students make a static research by looking for information on the internet instead of making a field research doing experiments, analyzing diverse factors, and making their own summarize from what they research. Technology not only changes the lifestyle of the mankind but also modify the manner how its members behave themselves. The rate of violence has increased since technology has become in the main pusher. To begin, violence has seized of our media motivating the offensive attitudes. Presently, this is a reality because of the majority of TV shows, movies, and series present topics such as drug trafficking, physical and physiological aggressions, and extortions. Next, the yearning for everything is another point that changes the behavior of societies. As an imperfection of every human, it always wants to stand out of the rest. This gives rise to discussions and competitions to know who should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Essay on Girl Interrupted Review One popular cultural myth about the mentally ill is the archetype of the Sexy Crazy Girl , which we ve seen in movies, comic books, and music. Losing your grip with reality is not a glamorous subject, but that s not what you get from Girl, Interrupted. It is apparent that all the girls in the movie had some type of dysfunctional personality, and bad things happen to some of them, but it just did not seem realistic. First off, most of the patients prtrayed were young, which made the care facility look like a youth home rather than a mental institution. but only the main (well known) stars, (Jolie and Ryder) were focal piont. I ll also note that about half the young girls in the movie, Ryder and Jolie included, simply don t look like girls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seems she s playing nearly the same sexy vixen she s played in a few other films already; just this time, she s in a t shirt, and occasionally gets tied to a bed. It d be interesting to see Jolie really stretch beyond her type; maybe in a Jane Austen movie or playing a nun. Overall, Girl, Interrupted feels like a movie that could ve been rawer, more intense, and more confrontational... ie, a lot less Hollywood. I found myself wondering what this adaptation of Kaysen s book would ve been like if it had been done on a shoestring budget with unknown young actresses and a fledgling director. Some Folks Call it a Sling Blade, the short film by Billy Bob Thornton that led to the film Sling Blade came to mind. I m also noticing that that s the 2nd time I referenced another film that is primarily about men, not women. Maybe we need an excellent film about mentally ill young women, and maybe Girl, Interrupted could ve been that film... but it isn t. Quickly summed up, this film may indeed be compared to a female version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, except where that film was a rebellion tale, Girl, Interrupted appears to be more about self discovery. Though this film has been long in development, and many actresses vied for the leading role, the casting call was even more crowded for the supporting roles. Cost + percent of cost is the method of payment which is related to the cost of the job, the larger the cost of the job the higher the amount of fee that is to be paid by the owner. There is a little incentive to be efficient and economical in the construction but is subjected to abuse. Cost + fixed fee is paid regardless of the variation of the reimbursable cost factor. This method gives contractors an incentive to get the job done as quickly as possible in order to recover his fee over the shortest time frame. 5. What is meant by unbalancing bid? What type of contract is implied? Give an example of how a bid is unbalanced. A bid is unbalanced when some contractors use this method to profit greatly on a project.
