Advantages And Challenges Of International Students
The following paragraphs will discuss the challenges and expectation or support needed by
international students based on some empirical studies by other researchers Challenges can be
defined as a situation that faced by someone with some of problems or difficulties. The international
students experience transition and adjustment difficulties is not a new issue when we talk about
International and education. As stated by Malaklolunthu et al., (2011) which is with the rising
interest of foreign students towards Malaysia, the Malaysian education sector both private and
public must pay attention to the adjustment and transition issues of international students. Studies
have shown, international students experience challenges adjusting... Show more content on

In order to attract more international students, it is important to understand and develop measures
to overcome the various kinds of adjustment problems they face (Malaklolunthu et al., 2011). The
international student really needs some support to overcome their difficulties in order to have a good
life and environment while studying in Malaysia. It is supported by the finding of Umar et. al.,
(2014) stated that students have some expectation to support them while they stay outside their
home country. According to Mahmud et al., (2010) efficient international offices, multicultural
trained student personnel, and support programs built for international students will help improve
services for international students. University language centers need to be empowered to ensure that
international students secure their language ability before joining the academic programs. On the
students part, good performance in both local language and English language help international
students to learn about local culture and to enable them to make the most of their study experience
in Malaysia. Other than that, Yusoff Chelliah (2010) find that adjustments by students fall into two
categories: socio cultural adjustments are related to behavioural ability to fit in and could be
considered from a social learning perspective predicted by variables related to the social skills
acquisitions and cognitive

Tiananmen Square Shooting Essay
The Massacre at Tiananmen Square
The protests in China during 1989 were for a good cause, but were ended in the worst possible
way. Mao Zedong brought Communism into china with violence and even after his death, with a
new leader, the violence continued. The Chinese Government made a huge mistake by using force
to end a peaceful protest. After the 1912 revolution, two groups began to compete for the
leadership of China. One group, the Nationalists, was led by Chiang Kai shek while Mao Zedong
was the head of the second group, the Communists. At first, these two groups worked together to
unify China. But in the 1920s, Chiang broke with the Communists and declared war on them. (Civil
War: Chiang vs. Mao). Both groups fought each other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also catches the attention of the Chinese government, who has been embarrassed when other
nation s leaders have been affected by the students while visiting China.
In the month of June, the government sends in its army to disperse the students out of the square
and end the protests. The night of June 4th the Chinese army advanced on the square, Day s
earlier tanks, troops, and armed cars had surrounded the square and blocked off all roads.
Protestors were shot down and beaten by Chinese soldiers. The scene was complete chaos in and
around Tiananmen Square. Protestors were enraged with the soldiers who were shooting at anyone
they deemed a threat. In the hours before the invasion of the square, make shift weaponry was
being made for the protestors who were going to put up a fight to get what they wanted, democracy.
Molotov cocktails, sticks, rocks, and pipes would battle throughout the night against bullets, teargas,
and armor. Buses and cars were torched, Soldiers and civilians beaten, shot, or burned. The days
after June 4th were filled with mass arrests and executions. The propaganda department of the
communist party s Beijing branch tried to convince the people of China, and the world, that it had
never happened (Simmie 197). The CCP released estimates of the injured... dozens of troops, three
hundred civilians, and thirty six students had died. More

Review Of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins demonstrates the underlying dynamics between the Jenkins family
as the children are all in the young adult stage. The family constellation of the Jenkins household
encompasses Papa and Mama Jenkins who are the patriarch and matriarch of the family. This
family system also consist of three children Otis, Roscoe, and Betty, and two cousin who are Clyde
Stub and Reggie Jenkins. To celebrate this the auspicious occasion of their parent s 50th wedding
anniversary, the entire extended familyare coming home. The Jenkin s family narratives and
assumptions has caused contention, resentment, and in some instances warmth that are unveiled by
various interactive patterns. The family s birth order entails Otis the eldest, Roscoe (RJ) the middle
child, and Betty the youngest. Otis displayed characteristic of being the oldest child that was
conveyed by his assertive behavior, leadership, and self disciplined that was demonstrated
throughout the movie. Roscoe displayed classic middle child syndrome characteristic of fighting
for attention, being very creative, and perception of being left out. Betty the youngest was fun
loving, energetic, and unscrupulous. Clyde parents died when he was young and the Jenkins
welcomed him into the household and worked hard to seek attention for Papa Jenkins. Reggie was
fun loving hustler of the family. Roscoe felt awkward, unloved, insignificant, and unimportant while

Physical Discipline And Child Behavior Problems Essay
Topic/ Rationale/ Hypothesis
The topic in the article Physical Discipline and Child Behavior Problems: A study of Ethnic
Group Differences by Jodi Polaha, Robert E. Larzelere, Steven K. Sharpio and Gregory S. Petit is
researching the relation between parental discipline and how it relates to the child s behavior
expression problems within different ethnic groups. They re addressing how physical discipline in
different ethnic groups can affect children s way of expressing themselves in distinct ways.
Previous research shows when a parent s discipline is abusive then it often results in aggressive
behavior from the child (Cicchetti, Lynch, Shonk, Manly, 1992; Dodge, Bates Pettit, 1990;
Strassberg, Dodge, Pettit, 1994). Although, if the discipline is not abusive then the child is less
likely to be aggressive (Gershoff, 2002; Strassberg, Dodge, Bates, Pettit, 1992). In another study it
was found that different ethnic groups react differently to discipline between African American
children and European American children (Baumrind,1972; Lamborn, Dornbusch, Steinberg,1996).
Five years after the study was conducted it had been reported that European American children got
into more fights than the African American children (Gunnoe Mariner, 1997). Even though the
study s have factual results, there have been researchers who disagree with their findings because of
the bias circumstances such as having distinct ethnicities and parenting methods (Deater Deckard,

Alprazolam Xanax Research Paper
Alprazolam or Xanax is a medication, an anxiolytic (anti anxiety agent), a medium term
benzodiazepine derivative that is used to treat panic disorders, anxiety neuroses such as anxiety
disorder or social phobia. Alprazolam is close to triazolam by its chemical structure, differs from
the absence of the Cl atom at phenyl at position. Alprazolam has less pronounced hypnotic effect.
It is used mainly for short term withdrawal of feelings of anxiety and fear. The first compounds of
the triazolobenzodiazepine structure were synthesized at the end of the 1960s by a team of
specialists from the USA, but it was 10 years before the tranquilizers appeared in the
triadolobenzodiazepine group. Alprazolam (Xanax), which has been on sale since 1981, is... Show

The efficacy and safety of the drug in patients under the age of 18 years is not established. With
renal / hepatic insufficiency and long term treatment, control over the picture of peripheral blood
and liver enzymes is necessary. Patients who did not take previously psychoactive drugs respond to
the drug at lower doses compared to patients taking antidepressants, anxiolytics or alcohol. With
endogenous depression, alprazolam can be used in combination with antidepressants. With the use
of alprazolam, patients with depression have seen cases of hypomanic and manic development.
Like other benzodiazepines, alprazolam has the ability to induce drug dependence in long term
admission in large doses (more than 4 mg / day). With a sudden discontinuation of alprazolam, there
may be comeback syndromes, such as depression, irritability, insomnia, increased sweating,
especially with prolonged admission (more than 8 12 weeks). When patients develop such unusual
reactions as increased aggressiveness, acute excitations, feelings of fear, thoughts of suicide,
hallucinations, increased muscle cramps, difficult sleep, superficial sleep, treatment should be
discontinued. During pregnancy Xanax is very dangerous due to its toxic effect on the fetus and
increases the risk of congenital malformations when applied in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Lord Fogarty Essay
The first poem I will be discussing is Fellow Being by Lionel Fogarty. Sound techniques such as
consonance are used in this poem to invite the reader to understand how Australia can function as
an unwelcoming home to the Indigenous Australians. Fogarty writes in the poem that The kissing
of winds to trees are the love between aborigines . Through the repetition of the soft drawn out s
sound in the words kissing and trees , the quality of the sound portrays a sense of love and safety.
Furthermore, the word kissing , with its connotations of affection and love, and trees with its
inferences of freedom and life emphasises the connection indigenous Australianshad with the old
Australia. The reminiscent style of the poem reveals the inhospitable nature of modern Australia
towards Aborigines.
Fogarty also uses image techniques such as metaphors to describe the interdependent nature of the
relationship the indigenous Australians had with the land. By emphasizing this important
relationship, Fogarty reveals the fractured bond that the white Australians forced upon the
Aborigines. The phrase aboriginal is the bread equates the indigenous ... Show more content on

The use of consonance in this poem encourages the reader to view modern Australia as an
inhospitable home for indigenous Australians. Noonuccal describes the Aborigines as, A Semi
naked band, subdued and silent . The alliteration of the soft, drawn out s sound in the words
subdued and silent conveys to the reader an atmosphere of silence and forlorn resignation. In
particular, the word subdued , with its connotations of unresponsiveness and being withdrawn,
further emphasises the conflict between the white and indigenous Australians. This conflict
ultimately separated the Aborigines from their land, resulting in Australia becoming a hostile home

Vladimir Lenin As A Hero
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, throughout time many of them have risen and fallen. A
hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they reflect societal views, and yet
they have a major flaw that often causes their downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary
man rose from his years of exile to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin.
Lenin stands as a prime example of a leader that reflects Russias social values, and as a flaw for his
outspoken nature suffers from a near death assassination. Vladimir Lenin, like Achilles, looked for
ways that benefited him in order to gain power, he was an aggressive man that had a certain set of
beliefs that led to become a Marxist. Lenin enrolled in the Kazan University, only to be expelled
within his first term for participating in a student demonstration. During his time from his studies,
Lenin immersed himself in revolutionary politics, taking a large interest in Karl Marxs writings, this
later played a large influence during his time of power. Lenin in many cases is similar to
Achilles, a fictional warrior from the Iliad. In book 22, Priam compares Achilles to Orion s dog,
to Greeks this is a bad omen. Priam then turns to his son, who stands outside the gates of Troy,
and tells him this, He is more powerful by far than you, and pitiless (143, bk 22, lines 47 48).
Priam knows that Hector has no chance of winning against Achilles, for he is out to get revenge on

Descartes thinks he finds a belief which he cannot doubt. What is this belief and why is it
immune to doubt? Descartes has convinced himself that there is nothing in the world; no sky,
no earth, no minds, no bodies. The text reads, does that follow that I don t exist either? No, it
does not follow; for if I convinced myself of something then I certainly existed. The Second
Meditation Descartes first interpretation is, This is the one thing that can t be separated from me.
I am, I exist that is certain. Descartes view seem to be I think, and since I think then I exist. And
since I believe that I exist then my belief would have to be true. No one can hold that as a false
belief. At this point, Descartes is reasonably certain he exists but he is unsure of what this I is.
Descartes then briefly touch on the ideas of a soul and what he knew the body to be. The text
reads, It is only when I think I am certain that I exist. This gives us on what is truly important to
Descartes which is the fact that if one think, then they must truly exist. Remember Descartes refers
to himself as a thing think. Like I mention in the First Meditation Descartes takes back what was
said. As he is unsure of if he is one with the body or distinct from

Conflict Resolution Of The United States
This year students have taken a rather exciting adventure into the wonderful world of conflict
resolution; more importantly, conflict resolution in the church. For the past six weeks students
have constantly studied the different type of conflicts as well as the different methods of
resolving the conflicts in question. This paper will cover a variety of the types of conflicts and
some of the resolution learned in the class this year. In addition to that, the paper will also detail
different case studies of the Biblewhere these particular conflicts are shown, how they developed,
and finally, how they were resolved.
One of the first examples of conflict resolution we discovered was conflict that is resolved by
cessation of proximity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul not really wanting a repeat of what transpired in the past actually disagrees with Barnabas.
Even though Mark is involved in the conflict, the actually conflict is between the close friends
Paul and Barnabas. There was an underlying issue that most don t see without adequate Bible
Study; Mark and Barnabas were cousins. Nevertheless, the motivating interest in the conflict was
that Paul for one did not want another repeat where a brother would desert him while preaching
the Gospel of the Lord. Secondly, Paul more than likely questioned Mark s faith in Christ after he
fled so easily the first time. The conflict yet is finally resolved when Paul and Barnabas that the
cessation of proximity approach and split from each other. This is one of the saddest splits of the
Bible in the eyes of many scholars. After this conflict, Paul and Barnabas are never mentioned
together again. We should learn to take out relationships more seriously and attempt every effort of
reconciliation before they consider this damaging route of relationship destruction.
Another conflict resolution method is attempting to resolve a conflict by speaking the truth in love.
This in all aspects will take the power of God and the Holy Spirit; all have heard the saying that It s
not what you say, but how you say it . This is where speaking truth in love comes into play in a
matter of conflict resolution. As the Bible states on the subject of love, Love is

It is a pretty safe bet to say that everyone knows what adoption is; it is also pretty safe to say that
everyone knows, or at least knows of, someone who is adopted. However, I would definitely think
twice before that people would know what was involved in the process of adoption. From the time I
was a young girl, I have always thought that I would adopt a child, since being an adopted from
South Korea. My mother had always told me about the long process it took for me to be adopted.

Even if you receive some type of assistance, you are still eligible to adopt as long as you have an
adequate resources to provide for your family (Adoption). The other requirements are to be
expected: interviews, personal history, background check, and references. The majority of the
children awaiting adoption are not simply sitting in institutions with little human contact and no
sense of family. Most children waiting to be adopted are in foster care. Foster care provides
temporary placement in a family setting. Over 500,000 children in the U.S. currently reside in
some form of foster care (Foster). This is not to say that there are over 500,000 children waiting for
adoptive parents. Actually, the number needing to be adopted ends up being much lower. Two out
of three children who enter foster care are reunited with their birth parents within two years. A
significant number, however, can spend long periods of time in care awaiting adoption or other
permanent arrangement (Foster).
Making decisions about the future for a child in foster care can be difficult and controversial.
Options include: returning the child to his/her birth parents; termination of parental rights (a formal
legal procedure) to be followed, hopefully, by adoption; or long term care with foster parents or
relatives. Most states encourage efforts to provide the birth parents with support and needed
services (e.g. mental health or drug/alcohol treatment, parent skills, training

LPE Response
The Problem with the Problem of Evil
I am arguing that the Logical Problem of Evil (LPE) is not a successful argument to reject the
existence of God. This is due to the LPE arguing with an inaccurate definition for the word good .
With the correct definition of good, I will show that an all good and all powerful God can logically
exist simultaneously with evil. A response to my objection could be the Furthermore, if we allow
the inadequate use of the word evil , the LPE still does not constitute the immediate rejection of the
existence of God due to the concept of free will. A response to this objection is that individual

By consistent I m simply referring to the possibility of all of the following to be true at the same
time. When referring to the argument below, consistence would imply that it is possible for all
three lines to be true at the same time.
1. God is all powerful, all knowing, and all good
2. There can be no good without evil
3. Evil is necessary for the existence of God.
I feel as though I must put emphasis on the meaning of the consistency. This characteristic is
implying that all aspects of the argument can be true. However, it is not my claim that this proves
the existence of God; rather, my argument shows that the LPE fails to successfully disprove the
existence of God. Furthermore, an in depth version of the argument I have proposed can help
strengthen this reasoning. This version of my argument starts with the basic definition of God that
has been established earlier in the paper: 1. God is a being that is all powerful, all good, and all
knowing.
When observing the fact that there are individuals who claim the existence of a being defined in
line 1, there is a logical claim that can be assumed. This is claimed in line 2.

The Pros And Cons Of The Nineteenth Amendment
Not everyone in the United States agreed with the Nineteenth Amendment being passed. Two
months after the Federal Government declared that the Amendment had been incorporated to the
Constitution in August of 1920, Oscar Lesser sued to stop two women [Cecilia Street Waters and
Mary D. Randolph] to vote in Baltimore, Maryland. Lesser believed the Maryland Constitution
limited the suffrage to men . He said that Maryland had refused to vote regarding the ratification of
the Nineteenth Amendment, and should not be subject to its application.. In 1922, Leser v.

the Nineteenth Amendment was not passed constitutionally. They claimed there were three
principal grounds to their argument, which were: that the power to amend the Constitution did not
cover this amendment because of its character ; that several states that had ratified the amendment
despite the fact that their state constitutions prohibited women from voting; and that, in particular,
the ratifications of the states of Tennessee and West Virginia were were invalid because they were
adopted without following the rules of legislative procedure in place in those states . In a

decision, the court responded to each of the three arguments. Lesser s first argument claimed that if

The Influence Of Society On Victorian Relationships
Talia Bardash
English Thesis Paper
The Influence of Society on Victorian Relationships Afraid of rejection in the Victorian Era, men
and women sought after relationships that agreed with the expectations set by society. Victorian
literature satirized and underscored these expectations and their effects on individuals. During the
Victorian Era relationships were not focused on the emotional aspect of marriage but rather growth
in reputation and status. The characters in Oscar Wilde s works, The Importance of Being Earnest
and The Picture of Dorian Gray, display the consequences of the demanding expectations on the
characters behaviors. Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, examines the romantic marriage versus the
familiar marriage that would strengthen social and monetary stature. Need closing sentence.
The expectations that society and men had for women during the Victorian Era were onerous.
They limited women from exploring and questioning ideas outside the realm of domesticity.
Womens roles focused solely on getting married and taking part in advancing their husbands
interests. The man was given, by society, an authoritative role over the household leaving very
little or no room for women authority. Prior to marriage, the women, excluding those who were
born to a wealthy or noble family, were trained in housewife skills such as cooking, cleaning and
sewing. Wealthy women did not need to prepare for these tasks because they had maids and other

Blood As An Image In Macbeth Essay
Shakespeare uses the symbol of blood in MacBeth to represent treason, guilt, murder and death.
These ideas are constant throughout the book. There are many examples of blood representing
these three ideas in the book.
Blood is mentioned throughout the play and mainly in reference to murder or treason. The first
reference to blood is in MacBeth s soliloquy in Act 2, Scene 1, Lines 33 61, when Macbeth sees
the bloody dagger floating in the air before him. Also in this soliloquy on line 46 he sees quot;on

Act 5, Scene 1 is the famous sleepwalking scene. While Lady MacBeth is sleepwalking she makes
many references to the evil deeds that Macbeth and herself have committed, most of which include
references to blood. In Act 5, Scene 1, Line 31, She goes through the motions of washing her hands
saying quot;Out damned spot! Out, I say quot; in reference to the blood that stained her hands after
smearing it all over the servants after assisting MacBeth in the treasonous murder of MacBeth.
This also represents her guilt of the murder. In Act 5, Scene 1, Line 38 she makes another
reference to the guilt saying, quot; What, will these hands ne er be clean? quot; The last reference
she makes to the blood being on her hands representing her guilt is in Act 5, Scene 1, Lines 44 45,
quot;Here s the smell of the blood still. All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this hand. quot;
All these references are to murder, death, treason, and guilt.
Throughout the play, Shakespeare effectively conveys theme of death, murder, treason, and guilt
through the symbol of blood. Normally, the word blood makes us think about injury and being an
essential part of life. The symbol of blood was

History of France
Process of Findings
Before Marie Antoinette married Dauphin Louis XVI in 1770, the situation in France was already
beginning to become disordered. The peasants, which made up about 90% of the population at the
time, were treated unfairly and began to feel frustrated and upset with the Monarchy. At the time,
Marie Antoinette was distrusted because of her foreign birth and many of the peasants saw her as
the source of their problems and disliked her. She was often seen in the past as a bad Queen due
to her careless spending and seemingly frivolous lifestyle, now with more evidence and sources,
opinions have shifted. Many see Marie Antoinette as a victim of her own circumstances, as it can
be seen by the state of affairs in France before her arrival, her upbringing and public opinion before
her death during the French Revolution. This essay will illustrate that Marie Antoinette was indeed a
victim of her circumstances.
The time before the Revolution was hard for peasants as they were taxed heavily, The peasant,
the farmer, the townsman, from their scanty purses were drawn the large sums required. The
King and all the nobles used their power badly . Peasants paid their taxes in coin, in kind, and in
labour , therefore they paid lots of money to cover the value of the holding , then had to send
food such as corn , butter , etc. to the big house , and then he had to act as a workman for the
noble (his master) doing things such as mending the roads of his master , cart

Task 1
Why Is Service Excellence Important To Your Organisation?
Netjets is a worldwide network of shared aircraft. This is defined as fractional ownership.
Customers make a large investment in a share of a private jet. In relation to the size of their share,
they receive a number of hours flying per year, and they own that asset, the value of which can go
up or down. The customer is also liable for management fees and an occupied hourly flying fee. The
customer is therefore making a very significant investment and expects the highest levels of
satisfaction.

We can deliver a better experience for our owners at a lower cost. This can be done by doing
everything with the customer in mind, balancing all stakeholders values, integrating operational
excellence skills in everything we do and listening to our customers and to each other.
The Cost Savings Initiative in conjunction with Operational Excellence continues to remain a top
priority for the company. The initiative entails the dedication of all departments. Out of the 215
different proposals, 60 percent have been completed while an additional 26 percent are on track to
be completed by year end. The completed proposals have so far exceeded $46 million and will be
reflected in the 2010 gross savings. CSI is an ongoing process working in parallel with the five
year plan to ensure the stability and profitability of Netjets.
Access and Slots Allocation
After safety, the most important aspect of our service for our owners is the ability to go where they
want, when they want. In 2008, 80 % of all Pre flight negative experiences were due to slot issues.
This means that access at airports is very important to us. We must try to get guaranteed access in
airports where there is a high volume of traffic. 44% of our business is in London, Paris and
Switzerland. Airports around London are particularly complicated in terms of slots.

What Is Krishna The God Of Hinduism
Krishna the God of Hinduism Krishna was one of the principal gods of Hinduism. He was the
god that the Hindu people looked up to in order to achieve their goals. Krishna was a loyal,
moral, and faithful person. Deeply, Krishna was admired by his devotees for his righteous mind
and his ethical model of behavior. How do people believe Krishnawas a reincarnation of Vishnu, the
god of preserver, and protector, the second god of the trinity? What special thing about Krishna
compare to other reincarnation of Vishnu. Krishna was the hope of deliverance and hopeless people.
Firstly, Krishna was born in jail where his mom Devaki and his dad Vasudeva was put into jail
by king Kamsa for the fear of being destroyed or killed by the eighth child of Devaki. He is
worshiped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu. Every sibling of Krishna was killed by Kamsa,
but Krishna survived from being killed. He was the reincarnation of Vishnu, Vishnu appeared
before Devaki and Vasudeva and told them he would return to earth by being born as their child
and will rescue them.
The rightful king of Mathura Ugrasen had been deposed by Kamsa. After Krishna was born the
father found himself freed from prison and fled to a safe house. Krishna removed any obstacles
that appeared before them on the way to the safe house. His foster parents Nanda and Yasoda took

The Missing White Woman Syndrome Summary
The videos assigned for this week were not only interesting but also intense, definitely full of vital
information. I found the Missing White Woman Syndrome video very interesting, for it brought up
a really important point, that being *fear of victimization. In fact, is has been proven that even
though crimein the U.S. has declined, fear of crime is still a huge issue. However, I do believe that
it is mostly because of the extensive coverage crimes get nowadays, mass mediahas influenced the
way we consume news and their power has increased significantly. Moreover, as mentioned in The

Materials for Recruitment of Ethnic MinorityStudents in Psychologyquestioned on page 818
whether these packets are equally effective in recruiting ethnic minority applicants (Bernal, Barron
Leary, 1983) as they are in attracting white applicants. The hypothesis explored the idea that
programs which stated a higher proportion of ethnic minority grad students would be judged as
having a higher chance of recruiting ethnic minorities. Specifically, Dr. Martha Bernal explored
how clinical psychology programs in the United Statesdisplayed diversity within the packets mailed
out to prospective students.
The set up involved mailing out a letter to 107 programs offered across the US which were
accredited at the time, in which a fictitious student requested brochures and other materials about
the clinical program offered, as well as materials on the number of minorities within the program
itself. Interestingly, the fictitious girl named Ana Acres did not state her ethnicity or race, allowing
the schools to send out information based on their own judgement and not the preconceived

Mat 540 Week 4 Case Study
The explanation for the answer to the given question is as follows: Hence, the current stock
available is 180 units. To find out the probability of the company running out of the stock of 180
units within a time of next 3 weeks, let s take z as a value that should be checked in the standard
deviation table in order to find the probability... Let us first find the value of z , for which we
should know the mean demand of the period of 3 weeks: So to do this we can assume that the
demand for week one is 65 units, for week two is 50 units and for week three is 45 units. Mean
Demand of the period of 3 weeks is equal to the Sum of mean demands of per week that
is,60+55+45 = 160 Now, let us determine the standard deviation for the period of 3 weeks, as it is
mentioned in question. So, lets instead find variance of per week, and take... Show more content on

Hence, First week difference = 60 55 = 5. Second week difference = 55 45 = 10. Third week
difference = 45 60 = 15. Variance for week one is 25. Variance for week two is 100.Variance for
week three is 225. (Since square of any negative number gives us a positive number). Hence,
variance of 3 weeks is equal to the Sum variance of per week that is, 25+100+225=350 Standard
Deviation of 3 weeks is equal to the Square root of the variance of 3 weeks that is, Square root of
350 = 18.71. Now that we have the found the mean and standard deviation of 3 weeks, let s find
z value by using the formula: Z = ( total value total mean ) / standard deviation that is,Z = 180
160/18.71 = 1.07. Now we have to check the value of 1.07 in the standard deviation table, On
checking we get the value as 85.77% this is probability that the units will be sufficient for the
period of next 3 weeks, Hence, the probability of the company running out of units = 100 85.77.
Therefore, the probability of the company running out of units is

The Late 19th Century Hypersexualization Of Salome, By...
The main focus of this article was on the depiction of the figure Salome, and the meanings behind
these interpretations. Lawrence Kramer discusses this topic on two fronts: the late 19th century
hypersexualizing of Salome and a more critical approach that stresses the study of the music itself.
The author presents the works of many late 19th centuryartists and draws upon criticism/discussion
of more modern scholars to help make his point. He concludes that though it would be easy to
analysis Salome, especially in the late 19th century, as the Freudian trend towards sexualizing
everything, it also provides a deeper view of the cultural underpinnings that create some of these
dated and misogynistic notions/ideas.
The author begins by presenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As was mentioned in class, Kramer highlights to artistic and cultural depictions of Salome not only
as a product of their time, but as objects with social agency, object that created the zeitgeist of their
time. This demonstrates a real life example of Frith s idea that identity is created through music, or
in this case that arts. In this discussion around a female figure, the artists who present their
interpretations of her not only contribute to the artistic realm, but inform and reinforce social
dynamics. The musical examples that the author presents in his discussion serve as bridge between
the literary criticism their musical embodiment. It also highlights the manner in which issues
surrounding gender were discussed which, as seen with previous examples (Crawford and Copland),
shares much of the same language when addressing issues around race and ethnicity. Also, when
looking at the dichotomies inherent in the representations of John and Salome (Christian v.s.
Hebrew, tonal v.s. atonal, male v.s. female), the emerging sentiment is that of us v.s. them, which
serves as the basis for many misunderstandings or problems around race and ethnicity. This then
ties into the idea of politics in music, such that a composer or group of people are not only creating
and accepting a certain identity, the very act of doing so can be against mainstream or country
currents. It could be understood as revolutionary acts.

Executive Order 8802
With the coming of World War II, African Americans were arguably elevated to a higher
standing in society due to the total war effort. But what part would Presidential and Military
action take in this advancement since their duty is to protect their citizens? And would the
efforts from these offices triumph over the racial prejudice that ruled American society, and most
importantly, would their legacy last for an improved quality of life for a good portion of the US
population. With these questions in mind, Executive Orders No. 8802 and 9981 as well as
President Franklin D. Roosevelt s call for increased admission of African Americans in the Armed

One of the nationwide race riots in particular, the Detroit Race Riot of 1943, demonstrates the
lack of change in perspective and the strains the Executive Order 8802 placed on communities.
The large scale chaos occurred after a fistfight from white disdain for the influx of black people
looking for work in automobile factories. With the inability to house the Southern immigrants,
racial tensions grew stronger in the city already known for white supremacy group the Ku Klux
Klan s influence. The deaths of 25 blacks from the violence of police brutality and prejudices show
that initiatives aimed at the labor force in fact had minimal influence over the established

created tensions that would further target the blacks and prevent a social equality at a local scale.

Euthanasia: A Moral Dilemma
In a brightly lit, cold white room, Dr. Jesse is discussing the extent of the life threatening disease
that a patient, Mark, has. Mark has a chance of survival, but only for about two torturous months
where he will have to separate himself from his normal life and engage in chemotherapy every
day. When first hearing about his situation, Mark immediately decides that plowing through two
painful months is not worth his time or effort, and he wishes to end his life on a positive note
without wearing down his body since he will have to depart sooner or later anyways. Now when
confronted with Mark s decision, Dr. Jesse freezes and rationalizes with his beliefs to try and
figure out the morally correct resolution to this problem. Like Mark, many other ill patients ask for
life termination to relieve themselves from suffering and many other doctors, like Dr. Jesse, are
also placed in this position where they must choose to either follow the patients requests, or to try
and keep the patient living despite their wishes. Who has the power to make this decision about
ending a patient s life, and to what extent? A terminally ill patient has the right to request the act of

Male Dominance In The Catbird Seat
Throughout history, it is of no surprise that men dominate in a majority of environments. Though
women made a movement to gain social and political rights during the nineteenth century, it was
not entirely successful. Women have begun to gain a larger percentage of the workforce yet men
continue to uphold dominance. In the short story The Catbird Seat , James Thurber write about
how men have a known superiority over women in the workplace by describing the relationship
between Mr. Fitweiler and Mrs. Barrows. The first time during the short story that Mr. Fitweiler

Fitweiler s superiority is shown over Mrs. Barrows is when he requests very little information
from Mr. Martin about the accusations against himself. Mrs. Barrows stormed into Mr. Fitweiler
s office the morning after Mr. Martin arrived at Mrs. Barrows home. Mrs. Barrows warned Mr.
Fitweiler of the things Mr. Martin had threatened the night before, but it was of no avail because
Mr. Fitweiler had to protect himself, not Mrs. Barrows. Mr. Fitweiler was incredibly worried
that the affair would become known; he had to do whatever possible to keep this from being
revealed. The head of the filing department, neat, quiet, attentive, stood in front of the old man s

truly was about anyone discovering his relationship with Mrs. Barrows. When Mr. Fitweiler
brings Mr. Martin in his office to inform him on what Mrs. Barrows had just accused him of, Mr.
Fitweiler asks for very little information and a minuscule amount of details to support his alibi.
Mr. Martin did not lie when telling of his night, he simply left of the most crucial events. Mr.
Martin left out events that would have aided in Mrs. Barrows being rescued of being made a

The Debate Over The Legalization of Marijuana Essay examples
In economics, a mixed market economy is one in which the actions of private businesses are
affected by public actions and decisions. In the United States, there are governmental actions that
decided just how much intervention will be used on a business. This is a redundant topic, as the
two political parties, Republican and Democrat, debate the issue frequently. The idea of laissez
faire is a free market economy where businesses have the right to do whatever they want.
Republicans tend to lean towards this ideal, while Democratscall for more governmental intervention
on businesses. When deciding just how much control will be used, one must look at all the benefits

As far as the legalization of marijuana goes, there are three options that the government can
choose. The three options all have their own advantages and disadvantages that are compared
and weighed. The first option is the current one of complete criminalization of marijuana. This
option provides safety for the public, while limiting the freedoms of business. The second
option that the government has is the legalization of marijuana with the imposition of a tax.
This idea provides a bit of safety, because it can regulate the demand through price and makes the
government tax revenue, but many people feel that it is wrong for the government to be
profiting from the trade of a drug. The last option is the one of a complete free market. This
ideal allows freedom of businesses, but is generally unsafe and promotes the use of drugs. The
costs and benefits must be weighed out in order to see which option provides the best situation
for the country. In the option of having the complete criminalization of marijuana, the right to
freedom is completely violated. One does not have the right to do as he pleases, because he
would be breaking the law. In addition, the cost of police force is expensive. Tax payers are
forced to pay higher taxes for police force to monitor, prosecute and incarcerate those convicted.
Because so much time of the police is going into monitoring marijuana, more serious crimes are

and clean. I learnt that feeding the baby can incorporate play to make it easier. I found out how
winding a baby is a vital process after feeding. If the baby wasn t winded after feeding he would be
very uncomfortable and not happy until his wind came up.

Edms Persuasive Speech
It s 2 a.m. and a student in in your residence hall is having difficulty breathing. You sleep
peacefully through the night, resting up for the next day of classes. Across campus, a group of
student volunteers wake up in the dark of the night, don their gear and race off into the cold night
sky, answering the call of a peer in need. To some, this may seem like the description of a
superhero, but thousands of students engage in this selfless service, driven by a passion to help
others in their darkest times.
More than 4,000 students volunteer as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) on nearly 250 college
campuses across the country, according to the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services
Foundation. Campus ambulance corps vary in size ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Volunteering in EMS has been a very rewarding experience, he said. As an EMT or paramedic,
you get to see the impact of your work on your campus and community. As a student, it s certainly
beneficial not only are you learning life saving medical techniques, you are also acquiring an
invaluable skillset, including time management skills and multitasking, which are in high demand
in the world when you graduate. As is often the case with many campus activities, volunteering in
college EMS takes time collegiate EMTs need to be able to balance their important, lifesaving work
on the ambulance, while still keeping up with academics.
Above all, Berkman says that volunteering as an Advanced EMT Critical Care has been a
rewarding experience and encourages fellow students to follow suit. It s a tremendous opportunity
to get involved and help your campus, he said. I would encourage everyone to look into
volunteering regardless of their career path, as the skills you acquire are useful in every profession

Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking
Importance of Communication
Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of public speaking
higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of Mental Health over 74% of
people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is a sad statistic being that communication is
the backbone of our society. It is what allows us to connect with others. Without communication
skills, we would not be able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives.
We, as a society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication
includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact, over 70% of our
communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my interpersonal communication
by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new standards in the way I communicate with
others. In my personal life, improper communication has led to more than one situation that caused
hurt to someone I love. Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of
poor communication.
Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I would say it
would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be higher, but the fact of the
matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public speaking. Being an extroverted personality
often leads people to believe I would have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight
is on, it is an entirely different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of
people, I start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my palms
get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of dread can disappear
sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it went well) I feel a sense of
accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride that comes with effectively communicating
to your peers and being well received.
My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to effectively
communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will further my success in the
competitive job market. Some of the

BPA in Sealants and It s Affects in Young Children Introduction BPA in children s dental sealants
sounds crazy. Until you read the fine print and understand what the chemicals are that are in the

you look a little deeper you find that they are made with BPA. This article is going to explain
what BPA is and how it is tested for within the human body. What the side effects may be and if
there are any alternatives to BPA containing What is BPA? Bisphenol A also known as BPA, is an

The Pros And Cons Of Immigrants In Canada
Imagine Canada without immigrants? Without having they wonderful multiculturalism that
immigrants bring into Canada we wouldn t be the diversite country we are now. In my essay I am
going to talk about how Canada benefits from immigration. I m going to be talking about the
positive and negative of these three classes: Economic class, Family class and the refugeeclass. This
is how the fantastic country of Canadabenefits from the three classes of immigrants. These three
classes of immigrationhave all this wonderful advantages that help create the safe and secure
country of Canada but they do have some disadvantages that make our country not so safe. First
of all the economic class of immigrants are taking all the jobs from the aboriginal people in
Canada. This issue resulted in Resolution 49 that was passed in 2005. This... Show more content on

This doesn t seem like a big number but if you think about it all of these people have something
tragic happening in there country like: war, torture and cruel punishment. One of the most
important part is they have a act called the Immigration And Refugee Protection Act. This act
has three key points to it: to save lives, to meet the legal obligations that Canada has agreed too
and lastly to offer a place of refuge. This act was made because of the Singh Decision. In 1985
Canada supreme court ruled that the 1976 immigration act was a violation of section 7 of The
Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms witch is the right to life, liberty and security of the
person. After this discussion they came up with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act that
doesn t violate immigrants rights. Refugees are also very great workers they come to Canada
ready to work hard and start a new life. In 2016 the amount of immigrants that came to Canada
was 46,700, that is the highest it has been since 1980. Helping refugees is an amazing way to
spend life and Canada has done it

Case Study On Wikran Apparels
WikRan Apparels was keen to diversify our apparels market in to the custom suits market, we have
had an aim to enter the market from the very beginning, now since we have a good brand image it
s the perfect time to introduce the Evolve Suits. Apart from this there was a vacuum found at the
end of the market.
* Research can be costly whether to do it or not should be considered, we must conduct this
research somehow because it is difficult to introduce a new product to the market without knowing
about the nature of the product and since we like to deliver what customers want always, we need
to get their feedback.
* Time frame in conducting the research should be considered, whether it can be completed on
time. WikRan apparels have set 6 months as the time frame to conduct and complete this research
because speeding more time on a research would neglect other aspects of the business and also
dragging the research would be costlier for us.
* Competitor activity can be monitored in the time frame. It is important to be aware of competitor
actions as they will help us make important decisions based on what they do

Marine Extract Molecules And Their Application Essay
Marine extract molecules and their application in inhibiting E.coli quorum sensing as a potential
antibacterial pharmaceutical
Abstract
Quorum sensing, or cell to cell communication, is an occurrence that is very widespread amongst
pathogenic bacteria which infect the human population. With increased development of bacterial
resistance against antibiotics, scientists have taken an anti bacterial approach to manipulate quorum
sensing and impede cell growth and communication. Quorum sensing can be seen in E.coli reporter
stains when applying N acyl homoserine, also known as AHL, which E.coli cannot otherwise
produce. This experiment makes E.coli ideal candidates for experimentation. The E.coli reporter
strain has fluorescence abilities which allows us to assess quorum sensing inhibitory activity.
Understanding quorum sensing is important in identifying and developing molecules that have the
potential to block bacterial biofilm.
Introduction
Quorum sensing is a system of communication which many bacteria use to convey messages
amongst each other. It is also a mechanism which regulates gene expression in said bacteria based
on the density of their population. Bacteria are capable of producing and releasing molecules
called auto inducers as a direct function of their cell density. These molecules can be used to
regulate symbiosis, motility, bacterial biofilm formation, the expression of virulent proteins and
various other processes (Bassler, 2001). This type of quorum sensing

The Paleozoic Era
The Paleozoic era age approximately 300 million years (542 mya to 251 mya). This time period
consists of two of the most important events in the history of animal life. In the beginning, multi
celled animals underwent a dramatic explosion in diversity, this resulted in almost all living animal
phyla appearing within a few million years. At the other end of the Paleozoic, it withstood the
largest mass extinction in all of history. This event wiped out approximately 90% of all marine
animal species. The causes of both these events are still not fully understood. Halfway in between
this time period, animals, fungi, and plants began to colonize the land, insects emerged, and the
limestone was deposited near the Burlington, Missouri area. During

Power of Langston Hughes Harlem (A Dream Deferred) Essay
Power of Langston Hughes Harlem (A Dream Deferred)
In our journey through life, we all have certain expectations of how we would like our lives to
be. All of us strive to reach a certain level of self actulization and acceptance. It could thus be said
that all of us live a dream. Some of these individual dreams inevitably become the collective dream
of many people. In Harlem (A Dream Deferred) , Langston Hughes makes use of symbolism as well
as powerful sensory imagery to show us the emotions that he and his people go through in their
quest for freedom and equality. By using questions he builds the poem towards an exciting climax.
Hughes wants to know What happens to a dream deferred? He asks this question as an introduction
to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives us an example of the resentment that is growing. People are getting more inflamed
emotionally, just like the wound gets worse if not treated. It draws a clear parallel between people
s emotions and the images of the sore. Just as an untreated sore will not heal, but get more
infected, a deferred dream will not go away, but become more intense. A wound that gets worse
will eventually start to smell bad. Hughes compares this to rotten meat. Does it stink like rotten
meat? This image creates the idea that unrealized dreams will bring out the worst in men. It also
means that for some the realization of their dreams will become less attractive.
Next he uses the symbol of sugar, or sweetness. This creates the false image that all is well, almost
as if this is the way it is meant to be. However, our minds still stick to the festering sore that is
under the Sweet crust. Hughes uses this image as a transition to the only statement in the poem that
is not in the form of a question.
The reason he does not use a question in the phrase; Maybe it just sags like a heavy load, is to
create an image of defeat. When people grow old and tired, their shoulders are bent as if they are
carrying a heavy load. Old women s breasts sag as a result of the natural aging process. There is
nothing we can do to stop aging. Eventually we all have to give up the struggle and die. Does a
dream deferred also eventually

In order to attract more international students, it is important to understand and develop measures to overcome the various kinds of adjustment problems they face (Malaklolunthu et al., 2011). The international student really needs some support to overcome their difficulties in order to have a good life and environment while studying in Malaysia. It is supported by the finding of Umar et. al., (2014) stated that students have some expectation to support them while they stay outside their home country. According to Mahmud et al., (2010) efficient international offices, multicultural trained student personnel, and support programs built for international students will help improve services for international students. University language centers need to be empowered to ensure that international students secure their language ability before joining the academic programs. On the students part, good performance in both local language and English language help international students to learn about local culture and to enable them to make the most of their study experience in Malaysia. Other than that, Yusoff Chelliah (2010) find that adjustments by students fall into two categories: socio cultural adjustments are related to behavioural ability to fit in and could be considered from a social learning perspective predicted by variables related to the social skills acquisitions and cognitive ... • 4. Tiananmen Square Shooting Essay The Massacre at Tiananmen Square The protests in China during 1989 were for a good cause, but were ended in the worst possible way. Mao Zedong brought Communism into china with violence and even after his death, with a new leader, the violence continued. The Chinese Government made a huge mistake by using force to end a peaceful protest. After the 1912 revolution, two groups began to compete for the leadership of China. One group, the Nationalists, was led by Chiang Kai shek while Mao Zedong was the head of the second group, the Communists. At first, these two groups worked together to unify China. But in the 1920s, Chiang broke with the Communists and declared war on them. (Civil War: Chiang vs. Mao). Both groups fought each other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the month of June, the government sends in its army to disperse the students out of the square and end the protests. The night of June 4th the Chinese army advanced on the square, Day s earlier tanks, troops, and armed cars had surrounded the square and blocked off all roads. Protestors were shot down and beaten by Chinese soldiers. The scene was complete chaos in and around Tiananmen Square. Protestors were enraged with the soldiers who were shooting at anyone they deemed a threat. In the hours before the invasion of the square, make shift weaponry was being made for the protestors who were going to put up a fight to get what they wanted, democracy. Molotov cocktails, sticks, rocks, and pipes would battle throughout the night against bullets, teargas, and armor. Buses and cars were torched, Soldiers and civilians beaten, shot, or burned. The family constellation of the Jenkins household encompasses Papa and Mama Jenkins who are the patriarch and matriarch of the family. This family system also consist of three children Otis, Roscoe, and Betty, and two cousin who are Clyde Stub and Reggie Jenkins. To celebrate this the auspicious occasion of their parent s 50th wedding anniversary, the entire extended familyare coming home. The Jenkin s family narratives and assumptions has caused contention, resentment, and in some instances warmth that are unveiled by various interactive patterns. The family s birth order entails Otis the eldest, Roscoe (RJ) the middle child, and Betty the youngest. Otis displayed characteristic of being the oldest child that was conveyed by his assertive behavior, leadership, and self disciplined that was demonstrated throughout the movie. Roscoe displayed classic middle child syndrome characteristic of fighting for attention, being very creative, and perception of being left out. Betty the youngest was fun loving, energetic, and unscrupulous. Clyde parents died when he was young and the Jenkins welcomed him into the household and worked hard to seek attention for Papa Jenkins. Reggie was fun loving hustler of the family. • 6. Physical Discipline And Child Behavior Problems Essay Topic/ Rationale/ Hypothesis The topic in the article Physical Discipline and Child Behavior Problems: A study of Ethnic Group Differences by Jodi Polaha, Robert E. Larzelere, Steven K. Sharpio and Gregory S. Petit is researching the relation between parental discipline and how it relates to the child s behavior expression problems within different ethnic groups. They re addressing how physical discipline in different ethnic groups can affect children s way of expressing themselves in distinct ways. Previous research shows when a parent s discipline is abusive then it often results in aggressive behavior from the child (Cicchetti, Lynch, Shonk, Manly, 1992; Dodge, Bates Pettit, 1990; Strassberg, Dodge, Pettit, 1994). Although, if the discipline is not abusive then the child is less likely to be aggressive (Gershoff, 2002; Strassberg, Dodge, Bates, Pettit, 1992). In another study it was found that different ethnic groups react differently to discipline between African American children and European American children (Baumrind,1972; Lamborn, Dornbusch, Steinberg,1996). Five years after the study was conducted it had been reported that European American children got into more fights than the African American children (Gunnoe Mariner, 1997). Even though the study s have factual results, there have been researchers who disagree with their findings because of the bias circumstances such as having distinct ethnicities and parenting methods (Deater Deckard, Dodge, ... Sound techniques such as consonance are used in this poem to invite the reader to understand how Australia can function as an unwelcoming home to the Indigenous Australians. Fogarty writes in the poem that The kissing of winds to trees are the love between aborigines . Through the repetition of the soft drawn out s sound in the words kissing and trees , the quality of the sound portrays a sense of love and safety. Furthermore, the word kissing , with its connotations of affection and love, and trees with its inferences of freedom and life emphasises the connection indigenous Australianshad with the old Australia. The reminiscent style of the poem reveals the inhospitable nature of modern Australia towards Aborigines. Fogarty also uses image techniques such as metaphors to describe the interdependent nature of the relationship the indigenous Australians had with the land. By emphasizing this important relationship, Fogarty reveals the fractured bond that the white Australians forced upon the Aborigines. The phrase aboriginal is the bread equates the indigenous ... A hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they reflect societal views, and yet they have a major flaw that often causes their downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary man rose from his years of exile to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin. Lenin stands as a prime example of a leader that reflects Russias social values, and as a flaw for his outspoken nature suffers from a near death assassination. Vladimir Lenin, like Achilles, looked for ways that benefited him in order to gain power, he was an aggressive man that had a certain set of beliefs that led to become a Marxist. Lenin enrolled in the Kazan University, only to be expelled within his first term for participating in a student demonstration. During his time from his studies, Lenin immersed himself in revolutionary politics, taking a large interest in Karl Marxs writings, this later played a large influence during his time of power. Lenin in many cases is similar to Achilles, a fictional warrior from the Iliad. In book 22, Priam compares Achilles to Orion s dog, to Greeks this is a bad omen. Priam then turns to his son, who stands outside the gates of Troy, and tells him this, He is more powerful by far than you, and pitiless (143, bk 22, lines 47 48). Descartes has convinced himself that there is nothing in the world; no sky, no earth, no minds, no bodies. The text reads, does that follow that I don t exist either? No, it does not follow; for if I convinced myself of something then I certainly existed. The Second Meditation Descartes first interpretation is, This is the one thing that can t be separated from me. I am, I exist that is certain. Descartes view seem to be I think, and since I think then I exist. And since I believe that I exist then my belief would have to be true. No one can hold that as a false belief. At this point, Descartes is reasonably certain he exists but he is unsure of what this I is. Descartes then briefly touch on the ideas of a soul and what he knew the body to be. The text reads, It is only when I think I am certain that I exist. This gives us on what is truly important to Descartes which is the fact that if one think, then they must truly exist. Conflict Resolution Of The United States This year students have taken a rather exciting adventure into the wonderful world of conflict resolution; more importantly, conflict resolution in the church. For the past six weeks students have constantly studied the different type of conflicts as well as the different methods of resolving the conflicts in question. This paper will cover a variety of the types of conflicts and some of the resolution learned in the class this year. In addition to that, the paper will also detail different case studies of the Biblewhere these particular conflicts are shown, how they developed, and finally, how they were resolved. Paul not really wanting a repeat of what transpired in the past actually disagrees with Barnabas. Even though Mark is involved in the conflict, the actually conflict is between the close friends Paul and Barnabas. There was an underlying issue that most don t see without adequate Bible Study; Mark and Barnabas were cousins. Nevertheless, the motivating interest in the conflict was that Paul for one did not want another repeat where a brother would desert him while preaching the Gospel of the Lord. Secondly, Paul more than likely questioned Mark s faith in Christ after he fled so easily the first time. The conflict yet is finally resolved when Paul and Barnabas that the cessation of proximity approach and split from each other. This is one of the saddest splits of the Bible in the eyes of many scholars. After this conflict, Paul and Barnabas are never mentioned together again. We should learn to take out relationships more seriously and attempt every effort of reconciliation before they consider this damaging route of relationship destruction. Another conflict resolution method is attempting to resolve a conflict by speaking the truth in love. This in all aspects will take the power of God and the Holy Spirit; all have heard the saying that It s not what you say, but how you say it . This is where speaking truth in love comes into play in a matter of conflict resolution. As the Bible states on the subject of love, Love is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The other requirements are to be expected: interviews, personal history, background check, and references. The majority of the children awaiting adoption are not simply sitting in institutions with little human contact and no sense of family. Most children waiting to be adopted are in foster care. Foster care provides temporary placement in a family setting. Over 500,000 children in the U.S. currently reside in some form of foster care (Foster). This is not to say that there are over 500,000 children waiting for adoptive parents. Actually, the number needing to be adopted ends up being much lower. Two out of three children who enter foster care are reunited with their birth parents within two years. A significant number, however, can spend long periods of time in care awaiting adoption or other permanent arrangement (Foster). Making decisions about the future for a child in foster care can be difficult and controversial. Options include: returning the child to his/her birth parents; termination of parental rights (a formal legal procedure) to be followed, hopefully, by adoption; or long term care with foster parents or relatives. He said that Maryland had refused to vote regarding the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment, and should not be subject to its application.. In 1922, Leser v. Garnett, was argued before the United States Supreme Court. The plaintiffs of the case argued that the Nineteenth Amendment was not passed constitutionally. They claimed there were three principal grounds to their argument, which were: that the power to amend the Constitution did not cover this amendment because of its character ; that several states that had ratified the amendment despite the fact that their state constitutions prohibited women from voting; and that, in particular, the ratifications of the states of Tennessee and West Virginia were were invalid because they were adopted without following the rules of legislative procedure in place in those states . In a unanimous decision, the court ruled that the amendment was passed constitutionally. In their decision, the court responded to each of the three arguments. Lesser s first argument claimed that if Amendment s are added without the State s consent, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. The Influence Of Society On Victorian Relationships Talia Bardash English Thesis Paper The Influence of Society on Victorian Relationships Afraid of rejection in the Victorian Era, men and women sought after relationships that agreed with the expectations set by society. Victorian literature satirized and underscored these expectations and their effects on individuals. During the Victorian Era relationships were not focused on the emotional aspect of marriage but rather growth in reputation and status. The characters in Oscar Wilde s works, The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of Dorian Gray, display the consequences of the demanding expectations on the characters behaviors. Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, examines the romantic marriage versus the familiar marriage that would strengthen social and monetary stature. Need closing sentence. The expectations that society and men had for women during the Victorian Era were onerous. They limited women from exploring and questioning ideas outside the realm of domesticity. Womens roles focused solely on getting married and taking part in advancing their husbands interests. The man was given, by society, an authoritative role over the household leaving very little or no room for women authority. Prior to marriage, the women, excluding those who were born to a wealthy or noble family, were trained in housewife skills such as cooking, cleaning and sewing. • 21. Blood As An Image In Macbeth Essay Shakespeare uses the symbol of blood in MacBeth to represent treason, guilt, murder and death. These ideas are constant throughout the book. There are many examples of blood representing these three ideas in the book. Blood is mentioned throughout the play and mainly in reference to murder or treason. The first reference to blood is in MacBeth s soliloquy in Act 2, Scene 1, Lines 33 61, when Macbeth sees the bloody dagger floating in the air before him. Also in this soliloquy on line 46 he sees quot;on thy blade and dudgeon gouts of blood quot;, this means that there is blood on the handle and spots of blood on the handle. • 22. History of France Process of Findings Before Marie Antoinette married Dauphin Louis XVI in 1770, the situation in France was already beginning to become disordered. The peasants, which made up about 90% of the population at the time, were treated unfairly and began to feel frustrated and upset with the Monarchy. At the time, Marie Antoinette was distrusted because of her foreign birth and many of the peasants saw her as the source of their problems and disliked her. She was often seen in the past as a bad Queen due to her careless spending and seemingly frivolous lifestyle, now with more evidence and sources, opinions have shifted. Many see Marie Antoinette as a victim of her own circumstances, as it can be seen by the state of affairs in France before her arrival, her upbringing and public opinion before her death during the French Revolution. This essay will illustrate that Marie Antoinette was indeed a victim of her circumstances. The time before the Revolution was hard for peasants as they were taxed heavily, The peasant, the farmer, the townsman, from their scanty purses were drawn the large sums required. The King and all the nobles used their power badly . Peasants paid their taxes in coin, in kind, and in labour , therefore they paid lots of money to cover the value of the holding , then had to send food such as corn , butter , etc. to the big house , and then he had to act as a workman for the noble (his master) doing things such as mending the roads of his master , cart ... To find out the probability of the company running out of the stock of 180 units within a time of next 3 weeks, let s take z as a value that should be checked in the standard deviation table in order to find the probability... Let us first find the value of z , for which we should know the mean demand of the period of 3 weeks: So to do this we can assume that the demand for week one is 65 units, for week two is 50 units and for week three is 45 units. Mean Demand of the period of 3 weeks is equal to the Sum of mean demands of per week that is,60+55+45 = 160 Now, let us determine the standard deviation for the period of 3 weeks, as it is mentioned in question. So, lets instead find variance of per week, and take... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, First week difference = 60 55 = 5. Second week difference = 55 45 = 10. Third week difference = 45 60 = 15. Variance for week one is 25. Variance for week two is 100.Variance for week three is 225. (Since square of any negative number gives us a positive number). Hence, variance of 3 weeks is equal to the Sum variance of per week that is, 25+100+225=350 Standard Deviation of 3 weeks is equal to the Square root of the variance of 3 weeks that is, Square root of 350 = 18.71. Now that we have the found the mean and standard deviation of 3 weeks, let s find z value by using the formula: Z = ( total value total mean ) / standard deviation that is,Z = 180 160/18.71 = 1.07. Now we have to check the value of 1.07 in the standard deviation table, On checking we get the value as 85.77% this is probability that the units will be sufficient for the period of next 3 weeks, Hence, the probability of the company running out of units = 100 85.77. Lawrence Kramer discusses this topic on two fronts: the late 19th century hypersexualizing of Salome and a more critical approach that stresses the study of the music itself. The author presents the works of many late 19th centuryartists and draws upon criticism/discussion of more modern scholars to help make his point. He concludes that though it would be easy to analysis Salome, especially in the late 19th century, as the Freudian trend towards sexualizing everything, it also provides a deeper view of the cultural underpinnings that create some of these dated and misogynistic notions/ideas. The author begins by presenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As was mentioned in class, Kramer highlights to artistic and cultural depictions of Salome not only as a product of their time, but as objects with social agency, object that created the zeitgeist of their time. This demonstrates a real life example of Frith s idea that identity is created through music, or in this case that arts. In this discussion around a female figure, the artists who present their interpretations of her not only contribute to the artistic realm, but inform and reinforce social dynamics. The musical examples that the author presents in his discussion serve as bridge between the literary criticism their musical embodiment. It also highlights the manner in which issues surrounding gender were discussed which, as seen with previous examples (Crawford and Copland), shares much of the same language when addressing issues around race and ethnicity. Also, when looking at the dichotomies inherent in the representations of John and Salome (Christian v.s. Hebrew, tonal v.s. atonal, male v.s. female), the emerging sentiment is that of us v.s. them, which serves as the basis for many misunderstandings or problems around race and ethnicity. This then ties into the idea of politics in music, such that a composer or group of people are not only creating and accepting a certain identity, the very act of doing so can be against mainstream or country currents. It could be understood as revolutionary acts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The second option that the government has is the legalization of marijuana with the imposition of a tax. The last option is the one of a complete free market. This ideal allows freedom of businesses, but is generally unsafe and promotes the use of drugs. The costs and benefits must be weighed out in order to see which option provides the best situation for the country. In the option of having the complete criminalization of marijuana, the right to freedom is completely violated. One does not have the right to do as he pleases, because he would be breaking the law. In addition, the cost of police force is expensive. Tax payers are forced to pay higher taxes for police force to monitor, prosecute and incarcerate those convicted. Because so much time of the police is going into monitoring marijuana, more serious crimes are often missed such as murder and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Mr Schachter Poem Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp that turned my life into one long night seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transform into smoke under the silent sky. Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to ashes. Never shall I forget those things, even were I condemned to live as long as God himself. Never. There was a woman among us, a certain Mrs. Schachter. She was in her fifties and her ten year old son was with her, crouched in a corner. Her husband and two older sons had been deported with the first transport, by ... A few young men forced her to sit down, then bound and gagged her. Silence fell again. The small boy sat next to his mother, crying. I started to breathe normally. We could begin to doze again, to rest, to dream... And so an hour or two passed. Another scream jolted us. I also had to be very careful about the food, making sure it was heated enough but not too hot so as not to burn the baby s mouth. I used a food thermometer to check the temperature of the food. Using a thermometer is the only way to know the temperature of food. Anyone working with food needs to know how to use a thermometer. I had to take temperatures in the thickest part of the food. When taking temperatures of a large amount of food be sure to take the temperature in two or more locations. This way you will know that the food is heated to the right temperature throughout. Personal Learning from the Care Routine I learnt a lot from doing this care routine. I learnt all about the child care regulations and I am more aware of what is involved in them. I learnt how important it is to keep everything sterilised and clean. I learnt that feeding the baby can incorporate play to make it easier. I found out how winding a baby is a vital process after feeding. If the baby wasn t winded after feeding he would be very uncomfortable and not happy until his wind came up. References

To some, this may seem like the description of a superhero, but thousands of students engage in this selfless service, driven by a passion to help others in their darkest times. • 44. Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking Importance of Communication Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of public speaking higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of Mental Health over 74% of people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is a sad statistic being that communication is the backbone of our society. It is what allows us to connect with others. Without communication skills, we would not be able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives. We, as a society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact, over 70% of our communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my interpersonal communication by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new standards in the way I communicate with others. In my personal life, improper communication has led to more than one situation that caused hurt to someone I love. Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of poor communication. Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I would say it would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be higher, but the fact of the matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public speaking. Being an extroverted personality often leads people to believe I would have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight is on, it is an entirely different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of people, I start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my palms get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of dread can disappear sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it went well) I feel a sense of accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride that comes with effectively communicating to your peers and being well received. My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to effectively communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will further my success in the competitive job market. This act has three key points to it: to save lives, to meet the legal obligations that Canada has agreed too and lastly to offer a place of refuge. This act was made because of the Singh Decision. In 1985 Canada supreme court ruled that the 1976 immigration act was a violation of section 7 of The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms witch is the right to life, liberty and security of the person. After this discussion they came up with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act that doesn t violate immigrants rights. Case Study On Wikran Apparels WikRan Apparels was keen to diversify our apparels market in to the custom suits market, we have had an aim to enter the market from the very beginning, now since we have a good brand image it s the perfect time to introduce the Evolve Suits. Apart from this there was a vacuum found at the end of the market. * Research can be costly whether to do it or not should be considered, we must conduct this research somehow because it is difficult to introduce a new product to the market without knowing about the nature of the product and since we like to deliver what customers want always, we need to get their feedback. * Time frame in conducting the research should be considered, whether it can be completed on time. WikRan apparels have set 6 months as the time frame to conduct and complete this research because speeding more time on a research would neglect other aspects of the business and also dragging the research would be costlier for us. * Competitor activity can be monitored in the time frame. • 48. Marine Extract Molecules And Their Application Essay Marine extract molecules and their application in inhibiting E.coli quorum sensing as a potential antibacterial pharmaceutical Abstract Quorum sensing, or cell to cell communication, is an occurrence that is very widespread amongst pathogenic bacteria which infect the human population. With increased development of bacterial resistance against antibiotics, scientists have taken an anti bacterial approach to manipulate quorum sensing and impede cell growth and communication. Quorum sensing can be seen in E.coli reporter stains when applying N acyl homoserine, also known as AHL, which E.coli cannot otherwise produce. This experiment makes E.coli ideal candidates for experimentation. The E.coli reporter strain has fluorescence abilities which allows us to assess quorum sensing inhibitory activity. Understanding quorum sensing is important in identifying and developing molecules that have the potential to block bacterial biofilm. Introduction Quorum sensing is a system of communication which many bacteria use to convey messages amongst each other. It is also a mechanism which regulates gene expression in said bacteria based on the density of their population. Bacteria are capable of producing and releasing molecules called auto inducers as a direct function of their cell density. These molecules can be used to regulate symbiosis, motility, bacterial biofilm formation, the expression of virulent proteins and various other processes (Bassler, 2001). This type of quorum sensing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the beginning, multi celled animals underwent a dramatic explosion in diversity, this resulted in almost all living animal phyla appearing within a few million years. At the other end of the Paleozoic, it withstood the largest mass extinction in all of history. This event wiped out approximately 90% of all marine animal species. The causes of both these events are still not fully understood. Halfway in between this time period, animals, fungi, and plants began to colonize the land, insects emerged, and the limestone was deposited near the Burlington, Missouri area. During ... • 50. Power of Langston Hughes Harlem (A Dream Deferred) Essay Power of Langston Hughes Harlem (A Dream Deferred) In our journey through life, we all have certain expectations of how we would like our lives to be. All of us strive to reach a certain level of self actulization and acceptance. It could thus be said that all of us live a dream. Some of these individual dreams inevitably become the collective dream of many people. In Harlem (A Dream Deferred) , Langston Hughes makes use of symbolism as well as powerful sensory imagery to show us the emotions that he and his people go through in their quest for freedom and equality. By using questions he builds the poem towards an exciting climax. Hughes wants to know What happens to a dream deferred? He asks this question as an introduction to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It gives us an example of the resentment that is growing. People are getting more inflamed emotionally, just like the wound gets worse if not treated. It draws a clear parallel between people s emotions and the images of the sore. Just as an untreated sore will not heal, but get more infected, a deferred dream will not go away, but become more intense. A wound that gets worse will eventually start to smell bad. Hughes compares this to rotten meat. Does it stink like rotten meat? This image creates the idea that unrealized dreams will bring out the worst in men. It also means that for some the realization of their dreams will become less attractive. Next he uses the symbol of sugar, or sweetness. This creates the false image that all is well, almost as if this is the way it is meant to be. However, our minds still stick to the festering sore that is under the Sweet crust. Hughes uses this image as a transition to the only statement in the poem that is not in the form of a question. The reason he does not use a question in the phrase; Maybe it just sags like a heavy load, is to create an image of defeat. When people grow old and tired, their shoulders are bent as if they are carrying a heavy load. Old women s breasts sag as a result of the natural aging process. There is nothing we can do to stop aging. Eventually we all have to give up the struggle and die. Does a dream deferred also eventually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
