This document discusses the four main types of fog: radiation fog, which forms at night when the ground cools and humid air condenses; advection fog, which forms over oceans when warm, moist air moves over cooler surfaces; upslope fog, which occurs when moist air is pushed up mountains; and evaporation fog, which forms when cold air moves over warm water and adds vapor to the air. Each type of fog has specific environmental conditions that cause its formation.
