THE 1983 TEAM
COMPOSITION
Technically, in terms of team
composition, the 1983 win
highlights the crucial role that
all-rounders play in ODIs. In
Kapil Dev, MohinderAmar-
nath, Madan Lal, Kirti Azad
and Roger Binny, India had a
bunch of talented all-rounders.
The current Indian team lacks
in this department and the in-
ability of their batters to bowl in
crunch situations as a back-up
to their main bowlers, proves
costly in many games. Even in
the 2011 World Cup winning
team, we had many batters
who could bowl like Yuvraj,
Raina, Sehwag and Tendulkar!
As Team India bids to end
ICC trophy drought at the ODI
World Cup in October-Novem-
ber, it will need to remain firm
and steadfast in its self-belief
which as Kapil’s Devils showed
in 1983 can move mountains.
While the BCCI and India’s
voice have now become a
dominant force in world cricket,
the icing on the cake can only
be provided by a triumph on
the global stage by Team India.
Here’s hoping that Rohit and
Co. will deliver the goods at the
upcoming ODI World Cup!
REMEMBERING1983TRIUMPH
LessonsforTeamIndia’sMission2023!
s the month of
June comes to
an end, cricket
fans all over the
world were busy
recalling the unforgettable tri-
umph in this week 40 years ago
that changed Indian cricket for-
ever! It was the ‘Big Bang’mo-
ment that Indian cricket was
waiting for and it happened
quite unexpectedly on the
evening of 25th June 1983. In-
dia beat the mighty West Indies
to lift their first ever World
Cup, turning cricket into a reli-
gion for a nation that was still
searching for its place in the
world. With the ODI World
Cup now just a few months
away, it’s a vital reminder for
Team India to look into their
historic past and grab key les-
sons in their quest for a prestig-
ious World title!
Standing at the cusp of a
technological revolution, the
1983 World Cup win gave In-
dia the belief that it could take
on the world and succeed. It
was a classical David vs Goli-
ath story - odds were stacked
against the Indian team and
nobody expected them to win.
But they did! It was a reflection
of the glorious uncertainty of
sport in general and cricket in
particular. The Indian victory
also showed the import of be-
lieving in oneself and working
hard with intelligence. If all of
this happens in sync then any-
thing is possible.
The terrific triumph also un-
derlines the significance of
small successes which snow-
ball into big achievements.
Barely a month before the 1983
World Cup, India had defeated
West Indies in their own back-
yard. This was a big win as for
the past 15 years West Indies
had been a formidable side and
had already won the previous
World Cups in 1975 and 1979.
In its first match of the World
Cup in 1983, Team India
shocked the Windies again – a
success which boosted their
morale and inspired the side to
keep improving as the tourna-
ment progressed.
In the finals, India were put
into bat after West Indies won
the toss only to find their star
batsman, Sunil Gavaskar back
in the hut early. While no bats-
man got to 50, small contribu-
tions pushed India to a fighting
score of 183. It seemed a
straightforward win for West
Indies to most experts at the
halfway mark. But India’s
bowlers managed to put a
stranglehold on the Windies
batsmen. This team effort en-
sured that ultimately India won
the match by 43 runs.
This remarkable victory also
highlights the importance of
teamwork for a side’s success.
The current Indian team can
surely take a cue out of the ear-
lier World Cup winning teams.
The first key takeaway for the
team is that the contribution of
eachplayercountsandall11and
not just a few superstars are
needed to become a champion
side. While there have been
manysuperlativeindividualper-
formances by Team India in the
past decade, since they won the
lastICCtitle,acoordinatedteam
effort has been largely missing.
This is where a Captain
needs to play his part better.
Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni both
proved to be inspirational for
their teams in 1983 and 2011.
As skippers, they not only led
from the front but also ensured
that there was bonhomie be-
tween team members so that
they could perform collectively
on the field.
Instead of focussing on mar-
quee stars like Virat Kohli and
Rohit Sharma, Team India
needs to focus on building an
ethic of strong teamwork. For a
champion side, each one of the
11 players performs at his best.
It is worth recalling that even
the legendary SachinTendulkar
won a World Cup only in 2011
when the entire team jelled like
a well-oiled machine under
Dhoni’s inspiring leadership.
Technically, in terms of team

Prime Minister Narendra
Modi said on Friday that
futuristic policies and de-

few years in the educa-
tion field have boosted
the global recognition for
Indian universities.
While addressing the
valedictory ceremony of
Delhi University’s cente-
nary celebrations, PM
Modi said that the num-
ber of Indian universities
that featured in the latest
QS global ranking has
surged to 45 from 12 in
2014, the year he became
the prime minister.
Union Education Min-
ister Dharmendra Prad-
han also attended the
Centenary celebrations
of Delhi University with
PM Modi.
He referred to the rise
in the numbers of IITs,
IIMs, AIIMS and NITs
across the country and
described them as the
building blocks of the
new India.
DU used to have only
3 colleges, and now
over 90 colleges are
part of it. Today, more
girls study at DU than
boys. Similarly, in
India, gender ratio
has improved a lot. It
means the deeper the
roots of academic
institutions in the
country, higher the
branches of country
that touch the sky.
NARENDRA MODI,
PRIME MINISTER
PM Modi referred to celebrated ancient Indian uni-
versities in Nalanda and Taxila and said they were
a source of happiness and prosperity and India’s
science guided the world in that era.
The University of Delhi was established on May
1, 1922. Since then, it has grown and expanded
immensely and now has 86 departments, 90 col-
leges, and more than 6 lakh students.
During the event, PM Modi also laid the foun-
dation stone of the Delhi University Computer
Centre, buildings of the Faculty of Technology
and of the Academic Block on the North Campus
of the university.

UK CALLS FOR UN REFORM WITH PERMANENT
SECURITY COUNCIL SEAT FOR INDIA
London: The UK government has reiterated its
call for reform of the United Nations as one of its
top transnational priorities and supported India’s
bid for permanent membership of the powerful Security
Council. India has been at the forefront of the years-long
efforts to reform the UN Security Council (UNSC), saying
it rightly deserved a place as a permanent member of the
United Nations. Currently, the UNSC has five permanent
members — China, France, Russia, the UK and the US.
Only a permanent member has the power to veto any
substantive resolution. In a speech at a conference at the
Chatham House think tank in London on Thursday, UK
Foreign Secretary James Cleverly called for a reinvigorat-
ed multilateral system that is more reflective of the times.

Shah recalled the year-

cleaver-wielding men,
who had accused him of
insulting Islam on social

Home Minister Amit Shah, who reached Udaipur on
Friday, remarked on the brutal murder of Kanhaiyalal
that occurred last year. However, Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot countered this statement and said, “It is ex-
pected that responsible people will not do politics on an is-
sue like terrorism. But what the Home
Minister said in Udaipur was irrespon-
sible. NIA arrested Kanhaiyalal’s killers
Riyaz Attari and Ghaus Mohammed
while the truth is that he was caught by
the Rajasthan Police in just four hours
of the incident. This tragic incident
took place on June 28,2022, while
the file of this case was transferred
to NIA on July 2, 2022. The Home
Minister would probably be aware that
both these killers were active BJP workers. He should get
an inquiry done as to who were the BJP leaders who helped
these two? Who used to call police stations for them? Why
did it take so long to file charge sheet in an open shut
case why haven’t they been punished yet?”

Udaipur: Union Jal
Shakti Minister GS
Shekhawat said that
instead of implementing the
schemes of the Centre, the
Gehlot government works to
stall, distract and suspend
them. “This is the reason that
work is going on at a very
slow pace in the Jal Jeevan
Mission scheme. Rajasthan
could not even spend 20-25
percent of the budget given to the government,” said
Shekhawat while addressing the meeting of Union Home
Minister Amit Shah in Udaipur on Friday. Shekhawat
praised the tenure of the Vasundhara government saying
that the entire system in Rajasthan deteriorated in the last
five years. “Before that there was a double engine govern-
ment. The BJP government was putting every work on the
ground and the state was at number one but the Gehlot
government again made it a backward state in the last four
and a half years,” he said.
Udaipur: Union

Shah held a dia-
logue with tribal leaders and
office bearers of the party
after holding a public meet-
ing in Udaipur. About 125
people including BJP’s tribal

representatives attended it.
Shah discussed schemes
of Modi govt for tribals. He
said that Droupadi Murmu
was elevated to the position
of President while there are
several other leaders who
were given high positions.
Shah also emphasised that
the tribal leaders should be
prepared for 2023 assem-
bly 2024 LS elections.
“The tribal class has always
been with BJP and should
gear up even further,” he
said. MP Arjun Lal Meena

classes in the country.

Udaipur last year not being

CrPC, it is State’s duty to
establish Courts of Session
in State for trial disposal
of criminal cases. Under
this, you had assured to
set up a fast track court

Rathore said that even after

of challan, fast track court
hasn’t been formed by state

in punishing the accused in

Udaipur: Former CM Vasundhara Raje
praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah
saying that he made India a powerful
country by ending terrorism. “By ending terrorism
in Kashmir, you made a new Kashmir of peace
there. But Udaipur, which is called the Kashmir
of Rajasthan, has fallen prey to terrorism under
leadership of Ashok Gehlot who is doing vote
politics even in this case,” she said while referring
to beheading of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in June
last year. Raje highlighted various achievements
of Modi govt. Reacting to CM Gehlot’s tweet on
Amit Shah’s remark, Raje said Gehlot has always
been shifting blame on central leaders of BJP.
“Instead of providing security to Kanhaiya, why
compromise was made between terrorists Kan-
haiya?” she asked. 10 days before the incident,
an accused had issued a video threatening to slit
his throat. “Why was Kanhaiya not given security
even after that?,” Raje questioned.

Rathore showed maturity and
wisdom. When Shah greeted the
crowd from stage, all senior lead-
ers were standing in queue with
Shah. During this Raje was left

on Friday over Amit Shah’s

Udaipur. The PCC Chief
asserted that Shah’s com-
ments regarding Kanhaiya
Lal murder case were politically motivated so as to
enrage people. “Today country’s Home Minister Amit
Shah visited Raj raised the issue of Kanhaiya Lal.
When Kanhaiya Lal was killed, then Raj govt extended
full support to his family. NIA immediately took over
the case from Rajasthan Police. It is their failure that
even culprits haven’t been punished till now. Now Shah
wants to provoke emotions with his speech,” he said.
“Khela happened in Shah’s meeting this time too. When
Rajendra Rathore didn’t take Vasundhara Raje’s name,
while Raje’s speech was ready. Instead Rathore called
Amit Shah’s name,” Dotasra said. Yogesh Sharma

their unique identities.
Let’s delve into the kalei-
doscope of rainbow fash-
ion and discover the im-
pact it has on personal
style, social movements,
and the broader fashion
landscape.
Rainbow fashion has
gained significant traction
inrecentyears,influenced
by various cultural and
social movements that ad-
vocate for equal rights
and representation. At its
core, rainbow fashion
symbolizes LGBTQ+
pride, a movement that
has made tremendous
strides in the fight for
equality and acceptance.
One of the most re-
markable aspects of rain-
bow fashion is its ability
to challenge stereotypes
and redefine traditional
gender norms. By em-
bracing a spectrum of
colors traditionally asso-
ciatedwithfemininityand
masculinity, this trend de-
fies societal expectations
and encourages people to
embrace fluidity and au-
thenticity. Fashion de-
signers and brands are
increasingly blurring the
lines between traditional-
ly gendered clothing, cre-
ating collections that are
accessible to all individu-
als, regardless of their
gender identity.
The rise of rainbow
fashion has given birth to
a wave of innovative and
captivating designs. From
bold and geometric pat-
terns to subtle gradients
and ombre effects, fash-
ion designers are incorpo-
rating the rainbow spec-
trum in innovative ways,
pushing boundaries and
exploring new realms of
creativity.

shall relish a
charming summer
and have experi-
enced the height of
indulgence with
the Maharaja Suite
on the last two
days of my extended stay in TATA’s
new and unique Air India-themed
suite inspired by the iconic “Maha-
raja “ which is a tribute to the famous
mascot of the Tata Airlines now Air
India.
Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi was
opened on the 11th of October 1978
and in May 2023, it was the first
privileged Taj hotel to come up with
the Maharaja Suite in the presence of
Tata Sons Chairman and Chan-
drasekaran, Air India CEO MD
Campbell Wilson, IHCLMD CEO
Puneet Chhatwal, and Vistara CEO
Vinod Kannan.
Within a week’s launch, I was
lucky to have been the first checked-
in guest along with my mother for
two nights in the 132-square-metre
suite.
It’s a benevolent gesture of Satya-
jeet Krishnan, the Area Director of
New Delhi and the General Manager
of the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, New
Delhi to upgrade me and my mother
for two days to the frippery suite.
Krishnan, a doyen in the Indian
hospitality industry ensures world-
class hospitality to all his guests. He
is known for his graceful aesthetics
and predilection for panache.
The Maharaja suite is unique as it
involves a radically new and innova-
tive style.
The Air India Maharaja theme is
intriguing and I enjoyed my stay in
that suite. As one enters through the
door of the suite the lovable mascot
with a round face, an outsized mous-
tache, a striped turban, and a long,
sharp nose welcomes you along with
Alexa greeting you.
Bold and vibrant colours, dramatic
lacquer-coloured woodwork, be-
spoke wallpaper, elegant furniture,
artwork, bright lights, trendy wall-
mounted lamps, contemporary chan-
deliers, a smart bar cabinet, classic
marble flooring and colourful carpets
are appealing to the eyes.
The suite is young and one needs
to have an experimental approach
and taste to understand and cherish
the theme. Nestled in the lap of lush
greenery, old-world charm, blended
effortlessly with contemporary com-
forts and amenities.
The experience was incredible. It
feels intimate and personal. Has a
distinctive vibe, the staff offers su-
perb service and the architecture and
interior design are unique and full of
character.
The grand suite offers a uniquely
themed master bedroom, a sitting
room, and a study designed in tribute
to the pioneer of aviation with rare
precious pictures of Air India crew
and Ratan Tata adorning the walls, a
powder room, an elegant bathroom
and a dining area.
This suite features a spectacular
view of the terrace lawn and the
greenery in abundance is a mood en-
hancer.
The colours used are bold and
bright. I’d say it’s a quirky and vi-
brant suite.
One of TATA’s most picturesque
signature suites, perfect for whoever
appreciates bling, colours and photo-
shoot, spacious and suitable for a
long duration. I won’t say that it’s
regal but it’s rich.
Travellers who are on the hunt for
a pop of vibrancy that makes them
feel happier through colour therapy
can discover that feature through the
dynamic colours used in the suite.
This suite is bursting with various
hues that can brighten anyone’s day.
The master bedroom boasts of
luxurious space, a creatively de-
signed vanity area, and a gleaming
bathroom with marble and mirrors is
the height of indulgence.
Featuring cutting-edge technology
blending perfectly with glamorous
design, there is two 65-inch plasma
screen, with a 3D state-of-the-art
home theatre system, the world-class
sound system makes for a fully im-
mersive experience that raises the bar
for an in-hotel audiovisual offering.
The suite can be accessed through
Alexa. Ain’t that cool!
Following the extensive restora-
tion and refurbishment of the main
edifice, this is the newest in their Sig-
nature Selection of Suites and Luxu-
ry Residences.
The hotel bathroom boasts an im-
pressive bathtub and is lavish.
Tata celebrates Air India’s home-
coming with the launch of this suite
and it couldn’t have found a better
location than Sir Edwin Lutyen ‘s
iconic property.
Besides the marvellous addition to
the property, the Taj Club lounge on
the eighth floor is well-lit, exudes
positive vibes and is cozy. It has a
lovely view overlooking the pool and
a panoramic view of the city.
The bar Ricks 2.0 has ornate opu-
lence. The quality of the food, ser-
vice, drinks, ambience, and cleanli-
ness, are exceptional. It bears its own
whimsical, classy and the wooden
interiors give a vintage feel.
The restaurant Machan serves ex-
quisite fine dining to mouth-watering
local cuisine. With Sous Chef Abhi-
nav Rastogi and Deepak, you can an-
ticipate a new gastronomic language
and brilliant guest indulgence. In
House of Ming, you can experience a
fresh wave of culinary excellence.
Why just fly Air India when you
can feel the legacy ofAir India in the
capital and indulge in a mythical ex-
perience?

Earlier this month, the SKIMS

the hardest feeling to watch some-

a family with just be so different
than who you knew.” Kim Kar-

to clean up the messes made by
Kanye West and said, “Some-
times I feel like if he were to hit
rock bottom, that’s his journey
that he needs to figure out on his
own. I used to run around and call
everyone behind his back, and be
like, ‘It’s gonna be OK, it’s gonna

They held hands as they

among many celebs.
The lovebirds made
heads turn with their

of them opted for casual

wearing the sweat-

with a pair of light
blue denim pants.
He finished the
look with a camou-

On the other

Cardi B and Offset’s

A
ity First inter-
acted with the
rising star of
Indian rap and
hip-hop, Anubhav Shuk-
la, also known as Pan-
ther, about his dreams,
aspirations and journey
as a rapper!
Tell us about your expe-
rience on the show?
Being a part of MTV
Hustle was surreal. It
provided a national plat-
form to showcase my tal-
ent and contribute to the
cultural representation of
hip-hop. The journey was
filled with memorable
moments, and I learned a
lot from the judges and
mentors, especially Bad-
shah. His insights into
the commercial rap in-
dustry shaped my artistic
journey and opened
doors to new opportuni-
ties.
What was the most im-
pactful lesson you
learned from Badshah?
Badshah taught me to
never underestimate my-
self and always remain
the hungriest one. This
advice inspires me to
strive for excellence,
push my boundaries, and
maintain an unwavering
hunger for success. It has
become a guiding princi-
ple in my hip-hop career.
How would you de-
scribe the influence and
impact of hip-hop in
India?
Hip-hop holds a global
reputation and has gained
significant popularity in
India. It goes beyond mu-
sic, shaping culture, fash-
ion, and even societal
movements. Its ability to
convey personal stories
and address social issues
has contributed to its im-
mense influence.
Can you tell us about
your recent releases
and upcoming collabo-
rations?
Recently, I released
Dard-E-Dil and Bohot
Aagey. Dard-E-Dil
explores the emotional
turmoil of a breakup,
while BohotAagey is a
motivational track ex-
pressing my relentless
hunger for success. I also
have a major collabora-
tion with Bollywood
singerAkasha and an up-
coming EP featuring ver-
satile genres of songs.

Editor-In-Chief: Dr Jagdeesh Chandra Editor: Anita Hada Sangwan responsible for selection of news under the PRB Act THE 1983 TEAM COMPOSITION Technically, in terms of team composition, the 1983 win highlights the crucial role that all-rounders play in ODIs. In Kapil Dev, MohinderAmar- nath, Madan Lal, Kirti Azad and Roger Binny, India had a bunch of talented all-rounders. The current Indian team lacks in this department and the in- ability of their batters to bowl in crunch situations as a back-up to their main bowlers, proves costly in many games. Even in the 2011 World Cup winning team, we had many batters who could bowl like Yuvraj, Raina, Sehwag and Tendulkar! As Team India bids to end ICC trophy drought at the ODI World Cup in October-Novem- ber, it will need to remain firm and steadfast in its self-belief which as Kapil’s Devils showed in 1983 can move mountains. While the BCCI and India’s voice have now become a dominant force in world cricket, the icing on the cake can only be provided by a triumph on the global stage by Team India. Here’s hoping that Rohit and Co. will deliver the goods at the upcoming ODI World Cup! REMEMBERING1983TRIUMPH LessonsforTeamIndia’sMission2023! s the month of June comes to an end, cricket fans all over the world were busy recalling the unforgettable tri- umph in this week 40 years ago that changed Indian cricket for- ever! It was the ‘Big Bang’mo- ment that Indian cricket was waiting for and it happened quite unexpectedly on the evening of 25th June 1983. In- dia beat the mighty West Indies to lift their first ever World Cup, turning cricket into a reli- gion for a nation that was still searching for its place in the world. With the ODI World Cup now just a few months away, it’s a vital reminder for Team India to look into their historic past and grab key les- sons in their quest for a prestig- ious World title! Standing at the cusp of a technological revolution, the 1983 World Cup win gave In- dia the belief that it could take on the world and succeed. It was a classical David vs Goli- ath story - odds were stacked against the Indian team and nobody expected them to win. But they did! It was a reflection of the glorious uncertainty of sport in general and cricket in particular. The Indian victory also showed the import of be- lieving in oneself and working hard with intelligence. If all of this happens in sync then any- thing is possible. The terrific triumph also un- derlines the significance of small successes which snow- ball into big achievements. Barely a month before the 1983 World Cup, India had defeated West Indies in their own back- yard. This was a big win as for the past 15 years West Indies had been a formidable side and had already won the previous World Cups in 1975 and 1979. In its first match of the World Cup in 1983, Team India shocked the Windies again – a success which boosted their morale and inspired the side to keep improving as the tourna- ment progressed. In the finals, India were put into bat after West Indies won the toss only to find their star batsman, Sunil Gavaskar back in the hut early. While no bats- man got to 50, small contribu- tions pushed India to a fighting score of 183. It seemed a straightforward win for West Indies to most experts at the halfway mark. But India’s bowlers managed to put a stranglehold on the Windies batsmen. This team effort en- sured that ultimately India won the match by 43 runs. This remarkable victory also highlights the importance of teamwork for a side’s success. The current Indian team can surely take a cue out of the ear- lier World Cup winning teams. The first key takeaway for the team is that the contribution of eachplayercountsandall11and not just a few superstars are needed to become a champion side. While there have been manysuperlativeindividualper- formances by Team India in the past decade, since they won the lastICCtitle, acoordinatedteam effort has been largely missing. This is where a Captain needs to play his part better. Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni both proved to be inspirational for their teams in 1983 and 2011. As skippers, they not only led from the front but also ensured that there was bonhomie be- tween team members so that they could perform collectively on the field. Instead of focussing on mar- quee stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Team India needs to focus on building an ethic of strong teamwork. For a champion side, each one of the 11 players performs at his best. It is worth recalling that even the legendary SachinTendulkar won a World Cup only in 2011 when the entire team jelled like a well-oiled machine under Dhoni’s inspiring leadership. Technically, in terms of team composition, the 1983 win highlights the crucial role that all-rounders play in ODIs. However, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot countered this statement and said, “It is ex- pected that responsible people will not do politics on an is- sue like terrorism. But what the Home Minister said in Udaipur was irrespon- sible. NIA arrested Kanhaiyalal’s killers Riyaz Attari and Ghaus Mohammed while the truth is that he was caught by the Rajasthan Police in just four hours of the incident. This tragic incident took place on June 28,2022, while the file of this case was transferred to NIA on July 2, 2022. The Home Minister would probably be aware that both these killers were active BJP workers. He should get an inquiry done as to who were the BJP leaders who helped these two? Who used to call police stations for them? Why did it take so long to file charge sheet in an open shut case why haven’t they been punished yet?” Udaipur: State BJP President CP Joshi said that the BJP removed Article 370 and hoisted the tricolour on ter- rorists’ chest. “The land of Mewar never surrendered to anyone. Udaipur: Union Jal Shakti Minister GS Shekhawat said that instead of implementing the schemes of the Centre, the Gehlot government works to stall, distract and suspend them. “This is the reason that work is going on at a very slow pace in the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. Rajasthan could not even spend 20-25 percent of the budget given to the government,” said Shekhawat while addressing the meeting of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Udaipur on Friday. Shekhawat praised the tenure of the Vasundhara government saying that the entire system in Rajasthan deteriorated in the last five years. “Before that there was a double engine govern- ment. The BJP government was putting every work on the ground and the state was at number one but the Gehlot government again made it a backward state in the last four and a half years,” he said. Under this, you had assured to set up a fast track court for a speedy trial,” he said. Rathore said that even after 6 months of presentation of challan, fast track court hasn’t been formed by state govt. “This is proof that you are not serious sensitive in punishing the accused in Kanhaiya lal murder case like the Jaipur bomb blast case. But Udaipur, which is called the Kashmir of Rajasthan, has fallen prey to terrorism under leadership of Ashok Gehlot who is doing vote politics even in this case,” she said while referring to beheading of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in June last year. Raje highlighted various achievements of Modi govt. Reacting to CM Gehlot’s tweet on Amit Shah’s remark, Raje said Gehlot has always been shifting blame on central leaders of BJP. “Instead of providing security to Kanhaiya, why compromise was made between terrorists Kan- haiya?” she asked. 10 days before the incident, an accused had issued a video threatening to slit his throat. “Why was Kanhaiya not given security even after that?,” Raje questioned. Udaipur: LoP Rajendra Rathore called Union Min Amit Shah to address the gathering on which the Home Minister first asked to call former CM Vasundhara Raje for an address. This act of Shah has become a topic of discussion in political circles. Later, Rathore invited Raje to address. Rajendra Rathore showed maturity and wisdom. When Shah greeted the crowd from stage, all senior lead- ers were standing in queue with Shah. During this Raje was left a little behind at which Rathore pointed towards her and made her stand next to Shah. Madam praised this ‘move’ of Rathore as soon as she resumed her seat. Jaipur: PCC Chief GS Dotasra held a press conference on Friday over Amit Shah’s remarks during his visit to Udaipur. The PCC Chief asserted that Shah’s com- ments regarding Kanhaiya Lal murder case were politically motivated so as to enrage people. “Today country’s Home Minister Amit Shah visited Raj raised the issue of Kanhaiya Lal. When Kanhaiya Lal was killed, then Raj govt extended full support to his family. NIA immediately took over the case from Rajasthan Police. It is their failure that even culprits haven’t been punished till now. Now Shah wants to provoke emotions with his speech,” he said. “Khela happened in Shah’s meeting this time too. One of the most re- markable aspects of rain- bow fashion is its ability to challenge stereotypes and redefine traditional gender norms. By em- bracing a spectrum of colors traditionally asso- ciatedwithfemininityand masculinity, this trend de- fies societal expectations and encourages people to embrace fluidity and au- thenticity. Fashion de- signers and brands are increasingly blurring the lines between traditional- ly gendered clothing, cre- ating collections that are accessible to all individu- als, regardless of their gender identity. The rise of rainbow fashion has given birth to a wave of innovative and captivating designs. From bold and geometric pat- terns to subtle gradients and ombre effects, fash- ion designers are incorpo- rating the rainbow spec- trum in innovative ways, pushing boundaries and exploring new realms of creativity. • 11. Your Page JAIPUR, SATURDAY | JULY 1, 2023 firstindia.co.in firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur thefirstindia thefirstindia thefirstindia 10 shall relish a charming summer and have experi- enced the height of indulgence with the Maharaja Suite on the last two days of my extended stay in TATA’s new and unique Air India-themed suite inspired by the iconic “Maha- raja “ which is a tribute to the famous mascot of the Tata Airlines now Air India. Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi was opened on the 11th of October 1978 and in May 2023, it was the first privileged Taj hotel to come up with the Maharaja Suite in the presence of Tata Sons Chairman and Chan- drasekaran, Air India CEO MD Campbell Wilson, IHCLMD CEO Puneet Chhatwal, and Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan. Within a week’s launch, I was lucky to have been the first checked- in guest along with my mother for two nights in the 132-square-metre suite. It’s a benevolent gesture of Satya- jeet Krishnan, the Area Director of New Delhi and the General Manager of the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi to upgrade me and my mother for two days to the frippery suite. Krishnan, a doyen in the Indian hospitality industry ensures world- class hospitality to all his guests. He is known for his graceful aesthetics and predilection for panache. The Maharaja suite is unique as it involves a radically new and innova- tive style. The Air India Maharaja theme is intriguing and I enjoyed my stay in that suite. As one enters through the door of the suite the lovable mascot with a round face, an outsized mous- tache, a striped turban, and a long, sharp nose welcomes you along with Alexa greeting you. Bold and vibrant colours, dramatic lacquer-coloured woodwork, be- spoke wallpaper, elegant furniture, artwork, bright lights, trendy wall- mounted lamps, contemporary chan- deliers, a smart bar cabinet, classic marble flooring and colourful carpets are appealing to the eyes. The suite is young and one needs to have an experimental approach and taste to understand and cherish the theme. Nestled in the lap of lush greenery, old-world charm, blended effortlessly with contemporary com- forts and amenities. The experience was incredible. It feels intimate and personal. Has a distinctive vibe, the staff offers su- perb service and the architecture and interior design are unique and full of character. The grand suite offers a uniquely themed master bedroom, a sitting room, and a study designed in tribute to the pioneer of aviation with rare precious pictures of Air India crew and Ratan Tata adorning the walls, a powder room, an elegant bathroom and a dining area. This suite features a spectacular view of the terrace lawn and the greenery in abundance is a mood en- hancer. The colours used are bold and bright. I’d say it’s a quirky and vi- brant suite. One of TATA’s most picturesque signature suites, perfect for whoever appreciates bling, colours and photo- shoot, spacious and suitable for a long duration. I won’t say that it’s regal but it’s rich. Travellers who are on the hunt for a pop of vibrancy that makes them feel happier through colour therapy can discover that feature through the dynamic colours used in the suite. This suite is bursting with various hues that can brighten anyone’s day. The master bedroom boasts of luxurious space, a creatively de- signed vanity area, and a gleaming bathroom with marble and mirrors is the height of indulgence. Featuring cutting-edge technology blending perfectly with glamorous design, there is two 65-inch plasma screen, with a 3D state-of-the-art home theatre system, the world-class sound system makes for a fully im- mersive experience that raises the bar for an in-hotel audiovisual offering. The suite can be accessed through Alexa. Ain’t that cool! Following the extensive restora- tion and refurbishment of the main edifice, this is the newest in their Sig- nature Selection of Suites and Luxu- ry Residences. The hotel bathroom boasts an im- pressive bathtub and is lavish. Tata celebrates Air India’s home- coming with the launch of this suite and it couldn’t have found a better location than Sir Edwin Lutyen ‘s iconic property. Besides the marvellous addition to the property, the Taj Club lounge on the eighth floor is well-lit, exudes positive vibes and is cozy. It has a lovely view overlooking the pool and a panoramic view of the city. The bar Ricks 2.0 has ornate opu- lence. The quality of the food, ser- vice, drinks, ambience, and cleanli- ness, are exceptional. It bears its own whimsical, classy and the wooden interiors give a vintage feel. The restaurant Machan serves ex- quisite fine dining to mouth-watering local cuisine.
