Title of the Lesson: Learning new vocabulary
Unit of Study: The Three R’s
Date: 19/01/2018
Level and group: 4rd A
Number of children: 12
Students haven’t any previous knowledge about the
topic because this is the first class of this unit. They
are accustomed to learning the new vocabulary of the
unit first and in the following sessions I introduce the
rest of the content.
 Present, learn and recognize the vocabulary of the
unit: throw away, waste, environment, pollution, using
a computer, save energy, save water, cloth sacks,
reusable lunch bags, recycling banks, glass bottles,
paper and cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminium cans,
batteries.
 Write words in bolt.
 Match the words with the pictures.
 Practice the pronunciation.
 Competence in knowledge and interaction with the
planet. The Three R’s

 Social and civic competence
 Autonomy and personal initiative
Assessment criteria
o Recognize and identify
vocabulary of the Three R’s.
o Express orally
comprehensively, using the
vocabulary of the unit.

25’ Strategy to teach the vocabulary in bolt of the text:
The Three R’s.
o Divide the class in groups of four
o I will post some text with words and group of
words in bolt on the walls of the room.
o The first member of the group run to the text and
try to remember the first word in bolt and then
return to the team to write down in a piece of
paper(provided by the teacher).
o Another member of the group does the same, and
then another...
o Two clues
1. Not to repeat words
2. There are 15 words or groups of words
When they have all fifteen written, they have match
the words to the flashcards. When they have finished

pronunciation
30’ The students in pairs look for the words
of the vocabulary one by one in the
Howjsay web. First, a member of the
couple should find the words and
pronounce them for his partner to
evaluate him. Then they exchange the
roles.

PEER EVALUATION SHEET
 I’ve enjoyed the experience and my students have enjoyed
it even more.
 They’ve had a lot of fun but it has been a bit noisy because
sadly they are not accustomed to working this way.
 Luckily today some students haven’t come to class because
they are sick and this has made things easier for me
because is very difficult to do activities like that with all the
kids.
 With the Running dictogloss activity it has cost them not to
repeat the words in bolt.

  • 2. Title of the Lesson: Learning new vocabulary Unit of Study: The Three R’s Date: 19/01/2018 Level and group: 4rd A Number of children: 12
  • 3. Students haven’t any previous knowledge about the topic because this is the first class of this unit. They are accustomed to learning the new vocabulary of the unit first and in the following sessions I introduce the rest of the content.
  • 4.  Present, learn and recognize the vocabulary of the unit: throw away, waste, environment, pollution, using a computer, save energy, save water, cloth sacks, reusable lunch bags, recycling banks, glass bottles, paper and cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminium cans, batteries.  Write words in bolt.  Match the words with the pictures.  Practice the pronunciation.
  • 5.  Competence in knowledge and interaction with the planet. The Three R’s Linguistic competence  Treatment of information and digital competence  Social and civic competence  Autonomy and personal initiative
  • 6. Assessment criteria o Recognize and identify vocabulary of the Three R’s. o Express orally comprehensively, using the vocabulary of the unit. o Participate actively and collaboratively in classroom activities. Assessment procedures o Oral exchanges. o Systematic observation of work and student participation in class. o Specific exercises that respond to the various objectives programmed in the lesson.

Dictogloss List 25’ Strategy to teach the vocabulary in bolt of the text: The Three R’s. o Divide the class in groups of four o I will post some text with words and group of words in bolt on the walls of the room. o The first member of the group run to the text and try to remember the first word in bolt and then return to the team to write down in a piece of paper(provided by the teacher). o Another member of the group does the same, and then another... o Two clues 1.   • 15.  I’ve enjoyed the experience and my students have enjoyed it even more.  They’ve had a lot of fun but it has been a bit noisy because sadly they are not accustomed to working this way.  Luckily today some students haven’t come to class because they are sick and this has made things easier for me because is very difficult to do activities like that with all the kids.  With the Running dictogloss activity it has cost them not to repeat the words in bolt.
