ROBERT ADAMS “ECOLOGY” 2007
This photo inspired me because of the type of picture it is. I
like how it shows Robert taking a picture of something that he
enjoys. It also drew me into it because you don’t normally see
pictures like this anymore because now a days people are
always taking pictures of themselves with a background that
the enjoy. I believe that the artists intentions of this photo was
to show the beauty of the atmosphere and the joy that it
brings to the photographer.
ALLISON SAURO “SELFIE” 2014
I took a picture of myself taking a “selfie” with a beautiful
green back ground. I wanted to use this photo because it
seems like it’s the new way of taking a picture of yourself in a
scenery where you want to capture a picture instead of having
someone else take a picture of you.
MARINA ABRAMOVIĆ “HISTORY” 2012
This artist drew my attention because all of her pictures seem
to have a negative emotion to it. I specifically chose this photo
because it shows the artist herself relaying a message of history
of a hard time. You can see the inside of where she is run
down, it also looks like she is something good coming at the
end of the trail because she’s in white and she’s glowing.
ALLISON SAURO “THE LIGHT” 2014
I chose to take a picture of myself in the road to show a
different version of the photo history. The reason I chose to
change this picture onto the road is because I love the
difference between the bright yellow line and the pitch black
road. I also wore a white dress to show simplicity and light at
the end of hardship. Being that if you follow the yellow lines
through the darkness you’ll find the light at the end of the
tunnel. I also chose to change the facial expression to happiness
because you finally beat the hard time.
ELEANOR ANTIN “LOVE SHADOW” 1985
I chose this photograph because I feel like the artists intentions was
to show that in the olden day love was not what it was supposed to
be, this photo shows that the man is always the one in charge of
the women and that the women is always supposed to be behind
the scene.
ALLISON SAURO “EQUALITY” 2014
I chose to take a picture of me and my boyfriend as a response to
Eleanor’s Love Shadow. The reason that I used a photograph of the
two of us together side by side is because now a days women are
just as equal as men and instead of being behind the scene or
behind the man you can be to the side and show that each person
brings just as much to a relationship.
