Prop 1
The first prop I will be using in my music video is a tea light
candle. The bath that the actor will be lying in will be
surrounded by candles to set the scene by creating an
intimate atmosphere. Furthermore, as I will be filming at
night, the candles will create a warm glow for the lighting.
In the final scene, a lit candle will be floating on the water
in the bath, which will then be blown out by the artist and
the music video will fade out to black.
Prop 2
The second prop I will be using in my music video is a guitar. The actor will be
playing the guitar at the start of the music video whilst she is singing. I chose to use
a guitar in my music video because the song that I will be using is an indie folk song,
which involves a guitar. This prop is relatable to the audience as some people might
have one and be able to play the instrument.
Actor 1 Costumes
During the narrative scenes, the actor will wear a long and flowing
dress to make her seem quite graceful and elegant; the dress will be
a light colour such as white or cream to portray her as quite
innocent and pure. However, the dress will be torn at the bottom
and look dirty to make it look as if she has been walking outside
through the fields for a long time. The actor will not be wearing any
shoes to make her look more delicate and harmonious.
During the performance scenes, my actor will be sat in front of a
camera against a light background whilst singing along to the song.
She will wear a black vest and black leggings to contrast the light
background that she will be sat in front of. The actor will not be
wearing any shoes as the camera angles at which I plan to film these
scenes will not show them. This costume is relatable to my audience
as it is very simple and most people will have it and it is always on
trend.
This is the first location that I will be using in my music
video. This location is a long grass field which I will use
when I film the scenes in which the artist is walking
and singing along to the song. I chose to use this
location as I will be filming during the day as I can use
the natural daylight for the lighting in my music video;
if I filmed at night, it would be too dark and you
wouldn’t be able to see the location or the actor. I
chose to use the countryside to film my music video as
it is far away from things and shows that the actor has
been on a long journey. The advantages of using this
location are that it is free to use and has similar
surroundings to the location used in the original music
video. This location links to the narrative in my music
video as the actor has been walking a long way whilst
trying to find someone.
Location 1
Location 2
This is the second location that I will be using in
my music video. It is a bathroom, in which my
actor will be laid in the bath. I will be filming at
night as I would like the lighting to be slightly
darker as there will be candles around the bath
to give the lighting a warm glow which looks
welcoming and homely. I chose to use this
location and lighting as it can be quite intimate
and emotional. The advantages of using this
location are that it is free to use as it is in my
own house and can be filmed at any time.
Location 3
This is the third location that I will be using. It is a
staircase in which the actor will sit at the bottom of in
the beginning of the music video. The actor will be sat
on the stairs whilst singing the song. I will be filming
during the day and will be using natural lighting. I
chose to use the bottom of the stairs as my location
rather than the top so that the rest of the stairs can be
seen behind the actor. The advantages of this location
are that it is free as it is in my own house and I can use
it at any time.
Location 4
The final location is a bedroom in which the actor will
be laid on the bed and singing along to the song. I will
be filming during the day and using natural lighting so
that the location and the actor can be seen. I chose to
use this location as it is relatable to the audience as
most people have a bedroom and people relax here
which can make them sympathise with it's
symbolism. The actor will be moving around the
house to show that she is looking for somebody. By
using a house as my location, I am aiming to show
that she has lost somebody close to her in her family.
The advantages of using this location are that it is free
to use because it is in my own house and I can use it
at any time.
