* I will be teaching Basic Spanish Instruction to first graders. There are twenty students 11 girls,
9 boys. All student are american, and English speaking. The students are of average intelligence,
and range in age from 6-7 years old. There are no exceptionalities in the classroom.
*My objectives are to teach on Monday why basic spanish is important, and how to introduce
themselves. In order to teach the children how to do this I will sho them a two different posters
I created for them. This will get them excited and make them want to learn about the lesson. I
will then show video on why it is important to know spanish. I will then teach the kids a simple
but effective greeting such as Me llamo ___. I will let them go around and one by one say their
names. All the kids should know how to introduce themsleves by the end of the day with 100
percent accuracy.
* All students learn in a different way so to reach all the children I would start by showing the
visual aspects to get them intrigued. The posters and the video can be used for viusal and for the
auditory learners. Then like a short little assessment we would let the students one at a time
introduce themselves in spanish. I am teaching first graders so I would want to keep it fun and
interactive. I would also make sure to introduce myself several times as well.
* I will require all student to participate in all activities. I want all student watching the video
and participating in looking at and discussing the posters. There will be a rubric for the grading
and learning particaption will be a big part of the grade. Students cannot learn if the do not
participate. We will again go over the introductions at the end of the week.
