The Assure Method: Thursday
ANALYZE- My class is made up of 15 girls and 10 boys. The demographic for my class is
seventy percent white, twenty percent African American, five percent Hispanic, and five percent
Chinese. My students all speak English fluently and the only special consideration is that thirty
percent of my students have slight to moderate ADHD. All of my students are in the first grade.
STATE YOUR OBJECTIVE- My students will learn their five senses during a five day
breakdown of each sense. We will cover one sense every day. By the end of the day today my
students will have learned the basics of touch and the body parts we use to touch things with 100
percent accuracy. My students will learn about touch by using various hands on and visual
activities during the day.
SELECT MEDIA / MATERIALS- Today we will start out by watching a new voki on touch.
We will then watch a video that another teacher made about the five senses. Lastly we will look
at a Pinterest board that will show our touch activity.
UTILIZE MATERIALS-We will begin by revisiting our friend the talking dog when she
introduces the sense of touch through a voki. Next we will watch how other teachers are teaching
young children the senses. Lastly we will look at the Pinterest board I created for our touch
activity.
REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION- To make sure that the kids are paying attention,
we all will participate in the touch activity.
EVALUATE AND REVISE- We will continue with the fourth step on our smart board activity.
Today three more students will write something we can touch on the board.

UTILIZE MATERIALS-We will begin by revisiting our friend the talking dog when she introduces the sense of touch through a voki. Next we will watch how other teachers are teaching young children the senses. Lastly we will look at the Pinterest board I created for our touch activity. REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION- To make sure that the kids are paying attention, we all will participate in the touch activity.
  • 2. EVALUATE AND REVISE- We will continue with the fourth step on our smart board activity. Today three more students will write something we can touch on the board.
