Field Trip Essay
Embarking on the task of crafting an essay on the subject of a field trip may initially seem like a
straightforward endeavor, evoking memories of carefree excursions and exciting adventures.
However, delving deeper into the process unveils the intricate layers of difficulty that lie beneath
the surface. The challenge lies not merely in recounting the events of the trip but in capturing the
essence of the experience, translating it into words that engage the reader and convey the
significance of the outing.
One of the primary obstacles faced in crafting a compelling field trip essay is the delicate balance
between providing vivid descriptions of the surroundings and ensuring that the narrative
maintains coherence. The writer must transport the reader to the destination, utilizing descriptive
language that appeals to the senses without becoming excessively verbose. Striking this balance
requires a keen sense of observation and the ability to select details that contribute to the overall
narrative without overwhelming the reader.
Additionally, the challenge extends to the task of infusing the essay with a personal touch. While
recounting the events, the writer must convey not only the external experiences but also the
internal reflections and emotions evoked by the field trip. This demands a level of introspection
and self-awareness, as the writer grapples with articulating the impact of the excursion on their
own perspective and understanding.
Moreover, the essay must transcend the boundaries of a mere chronological account of events. It
should weave a cohesive narrative that explores themes, connections, and the broader
implications of the field trip. This requires analytical thinking and the ability to discern patterns
or insights that may not be immediately apparent. Transforming a series of events into a narrative
with depth and meaning elevates the difficulty of the task.
In conclusion, crafting a compelling field trip essay is a challenging undertaking that demands a
blend of descriptive prowess, self-reflection, and analytical thinking. It requires the writer to
navigate the complexities of storytelling, transforming a seemingly simple recounting of events
into a narrative that captivates the reader. While the challenge may be daunting, the rewards lie
in the ability to convey the richness of the field trip experience and leave a lasting impression on
the audience.

Business...
The purpose of this report is to provide information on the Single European Act
(SEA) for a Business Seminar on the Single market. Throughout this report, I will
analyse and evaluate the Single European Act, the workings of the internal market
and how far any recent changes have succeeded. 2.0FINDINGS 2.1Background
The SEA was created in 1986, with the aim that by 1992 there would be a Single
market. It was developed from the Treaty of Rome 1957 which established the
common market (later known as the internal market) between the then six EEC
members. This was a major sign of European integration; removing trade barriers
and creating free movement of people, goods, capital and services and involved a
Customs Union. The Single market involves 27 EU countries and the European
Economic Area which includes Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein; Switzerland has
bilateral agreements within the Single market. 2.2Priorities of European Commission
The European Commission aims to maximise the potential of the internal market by
eliminating physical, technical and tax barriers to boost growth and employment.
2.2.1 The Four Freedoms The Four Freedoms refers to the free movement of goods,
services, people and capital between membership countries. Below is a model for the
Four Freedoms (appendix 1). 2.3 What the Single market means for Business The
Single market allows businesses to trade with fewer restrictions. Europa states that

On How My Travel Experiences Changed My Views of Life
I thought I would discuss my travel experiences and how it has changed my views
of life. I have been to the Caribbean many times, for example, Cuba, Mexico, The
Dominican Republic, St. Maarten to name a few. I have also backpacked through
Thailand and would like to discuss what I have learned from a few of these countries
and how these experiences have affected my perspective.
Travelling to Cuba for the first time was amazing. Having only travelled to Mexico
once before my first trip to Cuba I noticed a contrast in cultures even though my
assumption was they would be similar because they are both Spanish speaking. My
first trip to Varadero was over 12 years ago. I was informed that the locals valued
tips of crayons, toothbrushes, razors, and toiletries, but I was unsure why. I later
realized it was because of the embargos, they had no, or very limited access to,
these items and many more. I remember going into Havana and while taking in the
breathtaking sights, being followed by many locals who were rubbing their arms. I
had no idea what was going on and was later informed that they were asking for
soap. SOAP! I thought to myself, not money or food, but soap? Something I had
taken for granted my whole life. In my many discussions with the locals I learned
they were very educated, most of whom were doctors and environmental or
corporate lawyers. Education is free in Cuba and homes are also provided for free,
therefore, many Cubans go to University for many

Listen up, America! This is your president speaking. Today I am talking about me.
That s right! Donald Trump! The real estate billionaire! I m interesting, so you better
listen! Ghost writer, take it over.
My life started with money. I was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, NYC. My
father, Fred Trump, was a real estate mogul. As a child, I was energetic. My
teachers, jealous of my wealth, manipulated my parents to think I misbehaved often.
This resulted in my parents sending me to New York Military Academy at 13. I
was a star student at this school! I was a great athlete, and was quite popular. My
grades increased greatly. I imagine my parents were very proud.

Beginning from deep within the depths of Nazi held territory to appearing on
virtually every continent. Ballistic Missiles have had a long history dating back to
1939 and the beginning of the V Weapons program, and have been around in one

development, proliferation, and usage have had one of
the largest and most profound impacts on modern warfare and international politics.
On the cold and misty morning of October 3rd, 1942 Wernher Von Braun and his
team at the remote baltic island of Peenemunde stood around a launch console from
their safety bunker looking upon the apex of their years of engineering. For years the
team at Peenemunde, under the direct orders of the FГјhrer himself labored building
the most technologically advanced weapon system ever devised, in an operation

compared to a ballistic missile, which as previously stated follows a ballistic
trajectory similar to that of artillery fire. They however are typically guided by the

Social Inequality And Black Magic
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to pinpoint various social inequalities featured in the
popular television show American Horror Story: Coven. In addition to violence and
black magic, the miniseries explored some new horror themes: racism and sexism.
Coven was highly heavily criticized by its viewers for including many black
stereotypes, trivializing rape, and distastefully portraying women as a mysterious
species to men. Sexism and racism are quite prominent in our society and instead of
shedding light on these issues with respect, American Horror Story merely exploits
them in order to create cheap drama.
Keywords: Social inequality, American Horror Story, racism, sexism, stereotypes.
Introduction A social inequality is the presence of unequal opportunities for members
of a society, and is typically linked to gender inequality and race inequality (Rugaber
Boak, 2014). In the United States, social class is often a product of economic class
and, sadly, sometimes race. For example, we generally see that wealthy, white males
acquire a higher status than most females or people of color. Some argue that these
inequalities are detrimental to our society, but according to the functionalist view,
social inequalities are necessary to keep our society balanced. Often times these
inequalities are reflected in movies and television shows but can be grossly
exaggerated, thus contributing to the stereotypes our society has become numb to.
This paper will focus on the

Obtaining Informed Consent in Emergency Situations Introduction As research
advances in finding answers and treatment for diseases, the process of obtaining a
patient s informed consent becomes more detailed required. The informed consent is
known as the cornerstone of Good Clinical Practice for ensuring patient safety. In a
normal clinical paced environment, time is given to ensure patients are provided all
the required information and the time to make a rational and voluntary decision to
participate in a study. At times this process is not feasible do to emergency
situations, such as when a patient arrives in the emergency room in a compromised
mental and physical state that does not permit ample time for this process. Such cases

Southwest Airlines External Analysis
Executive Summary:
Southwest Airlines has been making changes over the past few years that helped
them become the largest low cost carrier in the United States. Most other airlines
have been struggling to make it through this economy, but Southwest has found a way
to thrive. The airline has dropped their prices and eliminated fees for extras that have
allowed them to fill up most flights. One cost they continue to struggle with is
offsetting the increasing fuel prices. This has caused some airlines to merge or sell
the company to competitors.

With the gas prices rising up every year, it seems like traveling by car is about the
same price as flying. The big advantage over bus, car, and train is saving time
which is huge to customers who cannot leave their job for a long period of time
without being fired or replaced.
Bargaining Power of Suppliers (medium) As I stated before, Southwest Airline
employees are the highest paid in the industry. The only employees who do not have
unions backing them up and can request more money are pilots. This is because
there are so many of them awaiting jobs. Another area Southwest has no power over
are airplane manufacturers. Companies like Airbus and Boeing can pretty much
charge whatever they want because of the experience and technological advances
they bring to large aircraft development. Since there are a couple of suppliers, most of
these manufacturers know if the deal is not attractive, then the airline will take their
business elsewhere.
Bargaining Power of Customers (high) Customers has several options when it comes
to flying. But the main attraction to customers are low prices and Southwest makes
it known that they have some of the lowest airfares. The only way Southwest can
take back the power is by offering direct flights to cities that other airliners do not
offer. Besides the small occurrence of having a direct flight to a city that no other
airline has, Southwest

The Green Berets Analysis
Green Berets came to the defense of the film. One lieutenant colonel commented that
when Hollywood s doing it, you have to expect dramatization some exaggeration.
But I thought it was a real fine film. Another officer enthusiastically said, I think it
caught the essence, And according to a Green Beret sergeant major, the film, was
just God, Mother, and Flag. Now who the hell could have any opposition to that? It
was a good, low key, accurate picture...The accuracy was there and the photography
was real great. However, General Edwin Simmons, who fought in Vietnamand

Green Berets. He said he was guided by clear criteria: If it s supposed to be a black
character, naturally I use a black actor. But I don t go so far as hunting for
positions for them. However, one black character in The Green Berets is not the
correct number that was actually represented in Vietnam, because the number of
African American soldiers who served in combat far exceeded their percentage of
the population. Thus, Wayne did not accurately portray the racial demographic of
the military at the time. Roger Ebert vouched, The Green Berets simply will not do
as a film about the war in Vietnam. It is offensive not only to those who opposed
American policy but even to those who support it. However, though the film had
mixed reviews, and unfavorable critical reception, the film did well at the box office

A Brief Note On Canada, A Peace Loving, Free Country
Making a Difference Today, Canada is known as a peace loving, free country.
However, what many do not know is that Canada isn t as peace loving or free that
others may perceive it to be. There was a time in Canada when there were slaves,
such as Black people. Because they were of different colour, many Blacks suffered
from racial discrimination, abuse, and the life of just being Black. Fortunately,
throughout the centuries, there were Black Canadians who stood up and fought
for their chance to be reintegrated into society as a person, and not as a slave. Black
Canadians such as Richard Pierpoint, who fought for his people and country, Sam
Langford, who fought for his desire to do what he loved and Viola Desmond, who
fought for her rights as a human being, proved that to bring change, people must be
willing to fight for their beliefs and this in itself will bring change, even if they
didn t know that their actions would do so. First of all, there was a man named
Richard Pierpoint, also known as Captain Dick and Black Dick, who was born in
1744 in Bondu (now Senegal). He was kidnapped in Bondu in 1760 and was sold
into slavery in the United States when he was about 16 years old. Richard s birth
name was not discovered, but Richard was probably a name given to him and
Pierpoint was probably his owner s last name. During the American Revolution,
Pierpoint enlisted with Butler s Rangers, which was a British provincial regiment,
composed of Loyalists (or Tories ). By 1779,

Lab Report 1
Introduction
The reaction time (RT) of students was measured in the experiment to determine
whether light or sound stimulus initiates a quicker response time. The question of
whether or not RT was related to movement time (MT) was also challenged. Each
student performed two test in random order; one testing the reaction time of a red light
stimulus, or visual reaction time (VRT); and the other testing the reaction time of a
beeping sound stimulus, or auditory reaction time (ART). The student completed the
VRT trial by simply receiving the stimulus and pressing a button. The student placing
and holding their hand on a button starts the ART trial. Once the student receives the
stimulus (beep) they press the adjacent button as fast as they can. The ART trial does
not only include the data of the RT, but also the data from the MT. Having previous
knowledge that light travels faster than sound; one can predict that VRT is faster than
ART. The prediction that MT is independent upon RT can be made with the thought
that there are so many opposing variables that could affect the MT of an individual
unrelated RT such as old age
Methods
In the experiment, 80 students were randomly separated into groups of 2 to write
down the data from the test for the other individual. The VRT was measured by
pressing a button once the student had seen the stimulus. The reaction time data
would simply show up on the screen once the student completed

Within day of the Khmer Rouge coming into power, Cambodia entered into the
darkest time of its history. Two million people were forced to evacuate from the
cities to the countryside in which they would undertake agriculture work. The
Khmer Rouge s goal was to create a rural, classless society and would force people
to work in the fields for more than 12 hours a day without adequate rest or food. The
Khmer Rouge placed a ban on family relationships and began an aggressive campaign
to brainwash children and encourage them to spy on their parents. The children were
taught to report their parents to authorities and turn in their parents as enemies of the
state. Following their coming into power and the evacuations of the citizens, the
Khmer Rouge turned its sights on the people in its own organization.
The Khmer Rouge soon claimed that only pure people were qualified to build their
revolution. They arrested and killed thousands of their soldiers, military officers and
civil servants. In the next three years, the Khmer Rouge would ban religious practice
and abolish money, markets, and private property. School, hospital, shops, offices,

year period. During the Khmer Rouge regime tensions built between the Khmer

Quantum Mechanics and Islam Essay
Introduction
Quantum mechanics or also known as quantum physics is a field of science which
studies the behaviour of particles at sub atomic level. This theory tells us that short
lived pairs of particles and their antiparticles are constantly being created and
destroyed in an apparently empty space.
In quantum mechanics the weird behaviour of electrons are not accurately explained
and until now not a single theory is acceptable by the whole scientific community to
postulate the phenomena. The electrons become linked, or entangled, such that
changing one invariably affects the other, no matter how far apart they are;
something Einstein called spooky action at a distance . Quantum stuff can also exist
in several places at once, or spin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The inadequacy and weaknesses of modern science is thus manifested as a result of
its ignorance on other sources of scientific knowledge such as metaphysical and
spiritual knowledge which is proven successful by previous Muslim scientists during
the period of medieval Islam.
In Islamic science, cosmology plays an important role as a link between pure
metaphysics and the particular sciences and acts as a source of conceptual
framework for the unity of science and spiritual knowledge. There are a number of
cosmological principles in Islamic science which are formulated based on the relevant
Qur anic verses, prophetic traditions and intuitive knowledge of famous traditional
Muslim scholars. In this study, the principles and ideas of quantum mechanics are
presented in a simplified manner for easy understanding of the subject matter,
followed by the application of the principles in Islamic science wherein the relevant
issues are discussed accordingly.
A Brief History of Quantum Mechanics
Quantum theory began to take shape in the early 20th century, when classical ideas
failed to explain some observations. Previous theories allowed atoms to vibrate at
any frequency, leading to incorrect predictions that they could radiate infinite
amounts of energy; a problem known as the ultraviolet catastrophe. Max Planck in
1900 solved this problem by assuming the vibrations of atoms at specific or

to prove that his Time Machine works, so he travels to the future where he meets
two new races called the Eloiand the Morlocks. When the Morlocks steal the Time

An example of a theme for the book titled The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is
things are not always as they appear. According to The Time Machine by H.G.

things are not always as they appear because it illustrates that when the Time
Traveler first saw the Eloi, he thought that they were an advanced race, but when they
started asking him questions, he learned that they were uneducated. In addition, my
second piece of evidence to support my theme is from the book titled The Time

Domain structure mainly consists of information to the left of a web address and the
letter combination to the right of it in a Web address. The content to the right of the
punctuation is the domain, while the content on the left of the punctuation is the

The Morning After for Mokuba Kaiba
It is a beautiful Morning in domino city, the sun was shining and birds were
singing. People were making their way to work, chatting on cell phones with
business calls, or chatting and gossiping with friends. Teens and children were
chatting with one another on the way to school. For Mokuba Kaiba, it wasn t such
a great morning. He was extremely nervous, because last night Serenity, Joey
Wheelers little sister, had given up her virginity to him. If Seto, his older brother
found out he had sex, he would kill him. As for Joey, he didn t know that Serenity
was even dating. He would surely kill Mokuba for taking his baby sisters virginity.
Mokuba swallowed down his nervousness, deciding to at least tell Joey he made
love to his girlfriend. He quickly walked into Domino high school, searching for
his blond hot headed friend. When he spotted him at the lockers, he swallowed his
nervousness and walked up to him. Joey, Can I talk to you about something? He
asked nervously. Um sure squirt, what you want to talk about? Joey obviously had
been startled, not expecting Mokuba to appear suddenly. I do not want Seto to
know The raven haired teen informed him. Hearing this, Joey became concerned. It
made him think Mokuba had gotten himself into some real trouble. Okay what is it
squirt, are you in trouble? Mokuba s eyes widened slightly, realizing how it would
have looked to his blond friend. No I have a girlfriend Joey raised an eyebrow at this,

Examples Of Manipulation In The Crucible
Let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word, about the other things, and
I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy
reckoning that will shudder you. Abigail Williams has said this quote during Act I
of The Crucible to the other girls caught dancing in the woods. Abigail is a
seventeen year old who has taken charge of the Salem Witch Trials. Abigail and I
portray common traits such as manipulating others, self centered personalities, and
leading many girls. The first trait that Abigail and I associate with is manipulating
others. During The Crucible Abigail manipulates the girls caught dancing in the
woods and the people of Salem. While she bullied the girls into not telling the truth,
Abby also kept the people of Salem invested in the idea of witchcraft in the town.
Although no one has died by my form of manipulation, Abigail and I share this trait.
My parents sometimes fall into my manipulating ways and my latest action has dealt
with crying in order to get concert tickets. Another time I can be seen manipulating
others is when I ask my friends for gum or food. Normally I will bring up a time
when I gave them something, even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Crucible shows Abigail being self centered by killing many people only to
save herself and running away with all of her uncle s money. While I have not
been as self centered as Abby, I may be found to act in a selfish way. Considering I
am an only child, I only think about how I feel in some cases like making plans
with friends and doing what I want to do. Although my parents never fail to put a
stop to my bad behavior, I sometimes find the habit as a part of my traits. This trait
also kicks in for me when I make my own plans without taking my parents into
consideration. Since I do not have my license yet it becomes a problem when they
have to put their night on hold to drive me
The Total Contribution Cost Ratio
A.Breakeven point (BEP) is where the total contribution cost equals to fixed cost. To
calculate this, you do fixed cost divided by the contribution per unit. To calculate the
contribution per unit you do the selling price minus the variable costs.
Racquets ВЈ225
Producing 6000 units
Labour 27000 hours
Materials ВЈ44 X 6000 = ВЈ264,000
Labour ВЈ12 X (4.5 hours x 6000) = ВЈ324,000
Variable overheads production 10 x 4.5 = 45 x 6000 = ВЈ270,000
Total Expenses ВЈ858,000 + 161,000 + 126,000 = 1,145,000
BEP ВЈ225 x 6000 = 1,350,000
ВЈ1,350,000 ВЈ858,000 = 492,000 divides by 6000 = 82 contribution per unit
ВЈ161,000 + ВЈ126,000 = ВЈ287,000 Fixed costs
ВЈ287,000 divides by 82 = 3500 units to hit BEP
B.3500 units X 225 selling price = ВЈ787,500
C.The margin of safety is calculated by doing Profit divided by the contribution per
unit = Sale Units (No. Of) To find out the percentage you do sale units divided by the
No of units sold X 100 = %
ВЈ1,350,000 ВЈ1, 145000 = ВЈ205000 Profit
ВЈ205000 divides 6000 = 34.17 Profit per unit
ВЈ205000 divide 82 = 2500 units, margin of safety
2500 divide 6000 x 100 = 41.7% margin of safety
D.The Margin of safety is the difference between Sales and Break Even Point it
indicates by how much sales may decrease before the business will suffer a loss. The
margin of safety is defined by the I.C.M.A. terminology as the excess of normal or
actual sales over sales at the breakeven point. It may be expressed as a percentage of
either normal sales or

Gangs, are they good for our community?
Gangs, they re all around us,everywhere, and anywhere. How do us americans feel
about gangs, and their affects on our environment ? I m against gangs because of
their affect on our youth. It affects the youth causing distractions, peer pressure, and
blocking opportunities for them. Gangs are one of the top three causes of crime in
America today. And gives America s crime system a lot of difficulty with solving
the problem. Gangs are and have always been apart of the crimes in America.

Very similar to bloods in activities like crime except their sets are different and
bloods are their rivals or opps.( 11 most ruthless).
It s plenty of gangs in America but crips and bloods are the main issue and the ones
drawing the attention of the youth. Many of today s murders are caused between
these two gangs for no reason. Most of the teens and youth who join gangs don t
really have a reason for why they joined them. Either they respond with for protection
or I don t know .( ruthless gangs). It turns out that, like violence, gang membership is
as much a public health problem as a criminal justice problem, .( negative
effects). These gangs brainwash the youth making them think it s cool or you
have to join a gang because of where you live. But they don t have to and they re
killing people they don t even know or have a problem with for a name. I think the
main reason for joining a gang is because of wanting to fit in. Social media is one
of the worse things in today s generation.Social media is starting to make it seem
like gang banging is a cool or fun thing to do. Same thing with the music industry,
full of gang bangers that promote gangs in their music screaming gang or squad ,
this type of music being the most viewed or highly ranked on the billboard.( daft
punk ). In high school everyone have thoughts of or feel like they gotta be that guy

Considering Students Language Background in Higher Education Assessment
Outcomes:
The Educational Testing Proficiency Profile
The increasing popularity of assessments that measure students college level
knowledge and skills has been accompanied in the past decade by the incremental
population of college students whose native language is not English or who speak
English as a second language (ESL). Higher Education institutions are more often
confronted with the task of considering language background when assessing students
performance. Although the shifting demographics have become evident in the US,
little research exists on outcomes derived of performance assessment of ESL
students. The validity of such tests on non native speakers as well as item analysis
have been subject of minimal research. Considering the implications of college
assessment outcomes, the importance of taking in account language background
when applying these measures becomes significant. The challenge of maintaining
equitability in higher education for all students has been impacted by the growing
number of ESL students from international an immigrant backgrounds. The ESL
student population in colleges and universities may additionally be underestimated
due to students who speak English and another language with the same proficiency or
those who choose not to identify themselves as nonnative English speakers.
Particularly concerning is the validity and equitability of assessment measures
Comparing The World Is Too Much With Us And God s
Grandeur
God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins and The World Is Too Much With Us by
William Wordsworth concur on the concept of nature versus the way society tends to
treat it; however, they express it in different ways through tone and figurative
language, such as metaphors and allusions.
Gerard Manley Hopkins seems to have an abstract outlook on the concept of nature,
taking it as a whole into great consideration and includes his personal religious
beliefs within God s Grandeur such as how the holy ghost is watching over nature
as it persists, which brings a positive side to the depressing reality (13 14). God s
Grandeur uses many types of figurative language and poetic elements; however, the
many metaphors and similes stand out the most for being the majority of the poem as
well as conveying the horrors of humanity to his audience. Hopkins writes, It will
flame out, like shining from shook ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The simile is based on foil, the thin sheet of metal, and compares it to the flame of
humanity; essentially, once the light is gone, it s the end and time is either wasted
or not, which Hopkins relates to shaking a piece of tinfoil and watching the light
quickly disappear. Surprisingly, this is one of Hopkins less puzzling similes, which
is shocking due to the fact that it seems to almost be a riddle. Aside from metaphors
and similes, one of the strongest points for works of Gerard Manley Hopkins is the
imagery, in which we see very dark flickers of what mankind has substantially come
to. An example of dark imagery would be Generations have trod, have trod, have
trod... (Hopkins 5). Repetition is also noticeable and significant in this line because it

One Hundred Years Of Solitude By Gabriel Garcia Marquez
One Hundred Years of Solitude Magic realism is a writing style in which mythical
elements are put into a realistic story but it does not break the narrative flow; rather
it helps a reader get a deeper understanding of the reality. Often time s Latin American
writers utilize this writing technique. It has been speculated by many critics that
magic realism appears most often in the literature of countries with long histories of
both mythological stories and social turmoil, such as those in Central and South
America. Like many Latin American writers, Gabriel Garcia Marquez used this
approach of magic realism, in his book One Hundred Years of Solitude, in which he

In fact, Aureliano, their son was the first human being to be born in Macondo
(Marquez,14). Ursula and Jose Arcadio Buendia were relieved when their two sons
and later daughter Amaranta were born with no genetic defects. Since all three were
products of incest, thus, they ran the risk of being born with the dreaded pig tail .
The village of Macondo is described to be small and lacking names because
everything was new. The small village was secluded from the outside world that
was until Ursula Iguaran discovers a route that connects Macondo to civilization,
thereafter the village begins to change. For instance, soon after its establishment,
Jose Arcadio Buendia becomes obsessed with making new discoveries and
progressing that he isolates himself from everyone. Jose Arcadio Buendia soon after
became convinced that the days were being repeated and sobbed that the time

to a chestnut tree because they thought he has gone mad. Thus, here we see the
beginning of solitude cycle for Jose Arcadio Buendia spent the rest of his days alone,
tied to that tree.
The story then shifts to politics as Aureliano, gets involved with the Liberal party and
begins to fight against the Conservative party, the country s government. Thereafter,

Essay on The Return of the Ruined Banker
The Return of the Ruined Banker The setting for this ghost story was at Sturdivant
Hall, in Selma, Alabama in the 1860 s.
Sturdivant Hall had been constructed in 1852. This stately mansion had six tall white
pillars in the front. There were many parlors downstairs and an abundance of spacious
bedrooms upstairs.
There were large fig trees, shrubs, and scuppernong vines on either side of the home.
A group of visitors had gathered to take a to tour of this beautiful mansion; then, the
guide revealed something quite remarkable. (Windham and Figh, 79)
The guests were admiring the graceful proportions of the downstairs parlors and had

entire community, John
Parker s career ended in disgrace. The youthful bank president speculated in cotton

dropped, and he could not cover the losses. Because federal money was deposited
in The First National Bank, General Swayne, a commanding officer of the United

Parkman arrested. (Windham and Figh, 81) Parkman was taken under guard to

before been used by the Confederate government for the incarceration of Yankee
prisoners. He managed to escape from that prison; however, as he was climbing a
prison wall, an alarm sounded, and some shots were fired . There were several
stories surrounding Parkman s fate. Some people speculated that he dived into the

the huge trees at the rear of Sturdivant Hall.
Although his death remained a mystery, students of the supernatural say that
Parkman s ghost had came back to try to clear his name about three years later, after
the home had been sold. Some servants who worked for Parker were so convinced

How Did Nikola Tesla Changed America s History
There are some famous inventors that I think have changed America s history because
of their inventions. Eli Whitney inventing the cotton gin, Nikola Tesla inventing the

Nikola Tesla was originally from Croatia but then moved to the United States in
1884. He there created the first ever Air Conditioner motor in New York also where
he met Thomas Edison his future rival. One day Nikola Teslawas walking somewhere

strong interest his parents arranged for him to travel to Scotland at the age of 15

he developed his first major inventions. After studying the inefficiencies inherent in
the existing system of oiling axles, Elijah McCoy invented a lubricating cup that
distributed oil evenly over the engine s moving parts. Elijah McCoy continued to
refine his devices, receiving nearly 60 patents over the course of his life. Although
most of his inventions dealt with lubrication systems, he also developed designs for

more selfish than previous generations? The simple answer is no. Yet, proving this
very assertion is far less straightforward. Thus, as is customary in law, I will,
instead, prove another assertion that, if proven to be true, answers the ultimate
question; and that assertion is, College students today are far more interconnected
than previous generations due to the rise in technology and social media. First, I
would like to address some of the research supposed to be defending the claims that
today s college students are more selfish. Many experts point to the rise in the
Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) tests to support the increase in selfishness;
however, there are many flaws with these tests. For one, the sample group was

However, such acts could be argued to actually be more considerate. It is common
knowledge that third person pronouns are used in writing that aims to be more
persuasive. Take, for example, the way I started this essay. After introducing the
ultimate question of whether college students are more selfish, I didn t say I
believe the simple answer is no, I said The simple answer is no. Such a use of the
third person apart from the first person is far more persuasive and leaves much less
at question. In such a context as this, where I am trying to persuade, that is common
practice. However, in other forms of literature, authors may seek not to persuade.
Even more, we must note the increased levels of political efficacy and the use of
politically accurate terminology in modern society. Thus, an increase in the use of I
could, in fact, be considered more considerate as it is not pushing the beliefs of the
author onto the reader, and is, instead, simply stating the belief to which they
The Main Provisions Of The 1944 Education Act And 1988...
The 20th century saw more changes to education than the thousand years preceding
it. This was largely in response to a recently industrialised country; with newly
acquired voting rights, it became apparent that education should not be only for elites.
Education is a crucial element of social mobility and it is important we fully
understand both the positive and negative aspects of previous legislation to help us
plan for the future. The were two major 20th century pieces of legislation: 1944
Education Act and 1988 Education Reform Act. Both brought with them changes that
are still being felt today. This essay will cover those Acts in detail, along with other
sizable changes such as comprehensivisation, marketization and how other external...

The ramifications of Butler s failure to separate church and schooling and further
pandering by all subsequent ministers can still be witnessed today. The church s
influence on teaching on subjects evolution has forced the requirement of a law to
ban creationism being taught (BHA, 2014). It has also come to light that many faith
schools teach a very narrow worldview pertaining of just their own beliefs (NSS,
2015).
Furthermore the school age was raised to 15 in 1947, with secondary education
beginning at 11. Though the lack of funding and teaching costs meant this took a
long time to fully implement as the act stated it should be raised to 16 as soon as
feasibly possible but this did not happen until 1972.
Other changes included free milk and meals, clothing grants as well as transport to
and from schools. As families would normally expect children to be working by the
age of 13 14 these measures ensured there was not too high a financial burden on
parents. Giddard (2011) argues that although there were many problems with the
1944 Act its redeeming features were forward looking and progressive.
Few debates in education have been given more time than grammar schools. Though
not a part of the 1944 Act the tripartite system was based on a report by the Norward
committee (1943); which made recommendations based on the pseudoscience notion
of there being three types of mind:
Essay Tetrapods
The early Devonian period is largely considered to be a world of a diverse array of
lobe finned fish, including lungfish, coelacanths, and bony fish. Over the course of
time, vertebrates made evolutionary strides with provided them with the ability to
travel on land. Coelacanths developed a single boned shoulder girdle, lungfish
developed paired fins, and sauripterus developed the major structures on the arm
(humerus, radius, and ulna). As these developments progressed and environmental
pressures were amounting in aquatic environments, vertebrates began to venture onto
land. Sometimes it was for short excursions, sometimes a bit longer. A major step in
vertebrateevolution was the advancement of the tetrapod, a vertebrate animal with...

Many species are completely aquatic during the juvenile part of the lifecycle. For
example, frogs have to reproduce in water because amphibian eggs do not have the
protection of the amniotic sac. As a result, the adults must return to a water source
to reproduce. As tadpoles grow into adults they form limbs that allow them to walk
on land. Because of the restriction to semi aquatic environment, the tetrapod
structure of amphibians is not as diverse as the other classes of tetrapods.
However, there are groups that deviate from the norm by a lot. Caecilians are
limbless amphibians. At first glance they do not look like tetrapods but the lack of
limbs is a derived secondary characteristic. Their bodies have adapted for
burrowing in the ground. Reptiles, the next tetrapods to emerge, were a very
successful version of amphibians. As opposed to amphibians, reptiles did not
require water for the reproduction process they produced shelled amniotic eggs to
protect their embryos from the environment. Due to the reduced dependence on
water, reptiles were able to explore many new environments and as a result their
limbs evolved in a variety of ways. Crocdylotarsians developed a normal ankle which
swings to the side when walking, making walking slightly more efficient. Dinosaurs
developed a hole in their hip socket that allowed them to stand upright and to move
significantly faster. Another way some terrestrial reptiles
European Technological Advancements
Europe wanted everything; the land, the respect, the money, the food; the list goes
on, and if the world s becoming connected, modern,or globalized is to be assigned to
anyone, it would be to the Portuguese and Spanish. In all of their advances, they did
connect the histories of individual places and places into one world history. Europes
technological advancements and desire trade fueled the exploration that brought
Columbus to the New World, or Da Gama around the Cape of Good Hope. With the
support of consumers, European countries involved in global trade were the most
successful in bringing the world together due to their desire to trade as well as the
technological advancements that got them across them across the Atlantic.

Firearms were almost a symbol of power in countries where they were not available.
Firearms were traded for slaves in Africa and used against others. Other than
aggression, the types of transportation were more advanced in the European
continent. In Africa, long distance travel was conducted with caravans. Meanwhile,
Portugal was building caravels to send across the oceans, around continents, returning
with vast amounts of wealth. Europe, also having contact with Asia, was able to see
technological advancements from other cultures, giving them an edge that America
and Africa didn t. With this advantage they were able to control the connections
between continents. It is also taken into account that, although Asian countries are
quite advanced, China and Japan, two leading powers in Eastern Asia wanted to
avoid assimilation and chose isolation, keeping them from dominating a possible
Pacific Trade. However, China did get involved in trade after Spain found deposits of
Silver in South and Central America. China used silver in multiple ways, and with a
new source of the element, they began to trade with other world powers, further

The Irish Potato Famine In Europe
Irish Potato Famine
The Irish potato famine started in 1845 and lasted for 6 years, killed over 1 million
men, women , and children. The other million people left the country. It was caused
by a disease among the potatoes called late blight that destroys the leaves and roots.
The potato famine was the worst assurance in Europe.People tried to relieve the
famine but they failed even the government. The great hunger started in 1846 a year
after the potatoes died. The hunger caused lots of deaths throughout ireland.Food
depots closed and the selling of Indian corn began to get money for the country. The
Irish famine was the worst thing to come to Europe in the 19th century. The farmers

Correctional Facilities For Inmates And Staff
In the upcoming material there will be several statistics and pertinent information to
help clarify (Life in Correctional Facilities for Inmates and Staff). Individual
information for each facet, completed by compiling comparisons of the concluded
information. When we think of incarceration, we automatically think about people
sentenced to prison. Perhaps we think of those in jail awaiting trial or serving a
shorter sentence. When we think of re entry we immediately think about sentenced or
otherwise incarcerated persons being released from incarceration to home. It seems
we rarely think about persons working in the prisons/jails. These are the people who

Thirty four percent of the officers who responded to the survey reported suffering
from symptoms of PTSD, such as repeated flashbacks of traumatic incidents,
hypervigilance, insomnia, suicidal thoughts, and alienation. Only fourteen percent of
military veterans report suffering the same symptoms. Correctional officer suicide
rates are thirty nine percent higher than all other professions combined, according
to the national study. In the study it was revealed that most officers avoid a PTSD
diagnosis because they re afraid of negative repercussions on their careers. They
believe they ll be put through a fit for duty test with a licensed psychologist and be
decertified. Research shows that hyper violent environment has serious repercussions
on the mental and physical state of an officer. Shift work is another key factor with
corrections officers and their families. Not having dinner together and parents
sleeping while their children get ready for school. Shift work has been proven to
disrupt the circadian rhythm, or the internal clock that controls sleep and nausea. The
combination of sleep loss disrupted circadian rhythm, eating, and digestive problems
tends to result in irritability and depression, which will possibly have a negative
impact on family interaction.

Sarcoidosis Essay
Running head: Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis
Trina Pettus
University of Phoenix
Abstract
Sarcoidosis was discovered by two dermatologists working in England and
Norway. It was originally called Hutchinsons disease or Boecks disease.
Sarcoidosis is the most misdiagnosed illness and is the least understood. It can
occur in anybody organ, but mostly found in the lungs or lymph nodes. This
disease can appear suddenly and disappear just as fast. It can also develop gradually
and produce symptoms that come and go. No one yet, since it was first discovered
over 100 years ago, knows what causes sarcoidosis.
Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a common disease, but there are many unanswered questions about it.
Identifying what causes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Culture and Population Sarcoidosis is now very common and affects people
around the world. It can affect people of any age, race and gender. It is most
common in adults ages 20 40 and in certain ethnic groups. The most affect group in
the United States is African Americans and especially women of that race. People
of Asian, German, Irish, Puerto Rican and Scandinavian origin can also be victim to
sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is more likely to affect certain organs in certain populations.
For example, sarcoidosis of the heart and eyes appear to be most common in Japan.
People from Northern Europe, most often, have painful skin lumps on the legs.
Treatment
Sarcoidosis symptoms will often get better on their own slowly without treatment.
But in those cases that do need treatment, it is treated aggressively. Sarcoidosis
cannot be cured, so the treatments are just to control symptoms or improve the
function of the affected organ. There are several medications used to treat
sarcoidosis. Some of these are anti inflammatory drugs, anti rejection drugs or anti
malarial drugs (Table 2). These drugs can be used one at a time or together
depending on the severity of the disease. Organ transplant may be considered if the
disease has severely damaged the lungs or the liver.
Prevention
With the cause of sarcoidosis unknown, belief of infections and exposure to
chemicals may bring on the disease.
Modest Proposal And Li Ruzhen s Flowers In The Mirror
There are many uses of satire in Jonathan Swift s A Modest Proposal and in Li
Ruzhen s Flowers in the Mirror. Both of these readings address social issues during
the 17th and 18th century and address them with various uses of satire to help
emphasize their thoughts of dislike and carry that to their readers. Jonathan Swifts A
Modest Proposal proposes using poor bastard children as food to help the poverty
level along with other social issues that come with poor women carrying children
and having to take care of them. Li Ruzhen s Flowers in the Mirror gives a very
detailed and eye opening view of a country where men and women s roles in
society are reversed to give readers and insight and different perspective of the
social issues of how women are treated. To truly understand what Jonathan Swift s A
Modest Proposal and Li Ruzhen s Flowers in the Mirror were trying to portray with
the use of satire, a deeper look into the time era and social issues of when it was
written needs to be revealed and addressed. Jonathan Swift s A Modest Proposal
addresses issues with the poor Irish peasants that were too poor to feed their
families. The British Government is partially to blame for the poverty as they
exploited the Irish and never gave them a chance to come out of the poverty stricken
routine that they were in. Swift has used satire in writings before, including Gulliver
s Travels, to get his points across of social unevenness. In A Modest Proposal Swift
gives the idea of eating
Recruitment and selection process
Recruitment and selection process
Recruitment is the process of having the right person, in the right place, at the right
time. It is crucial to organisational performance. Recruitment is a critical activity, not
just for the HR team but also for line managers who are increasingly involved in the
selection process. All those involved in recruitment activities should be equipped with
the appropriate knowledge and skills.
Before creating business plans or making decisions, it is important to scan the
external environment. This can be achieved through a PESTLE analysis, i.e. an
investigation of the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and
Environmental influences on a business. In addition it is also important to be aware ...

Diversity policies should be incorporated in a business s core strategy, not only as a
duty to comply with the diversity legislation, but also as an integral strategy in
developing the business.
Diversity policies need to be mainstreamed and made the norm rather than the
exception. This prevents them from being restricted to, and associated with, specific
groups of people.
Acknowledging and identifying the benefits of a diverse workforce is the first step
towards making a positive change.
Recruitment methods
External recruitment is concerned with generating a pool of qualified candidates
through external sources of employment. Under it, following methods of recruitment
are adopted.
1. Direct Recruitment
Direct recruitment refers to a process of recruiting qualified candidates from external
sources by placing a notice of vacancy in an organization s notice board.
2. Casual Callers
This method of recruitment is concerned with using previously applied candidates as
a source of recruitment. This method avoids the costs of recruiting people from other
sources.
3. Advertising
Advertising is one of the most common and popular methods of external recruitment
under which the job vacancy is announced through different print and electronic
media.

A Report On Bottled Water Market
FROM LINEAR TO CIRCULAR
I decided write a report on bottled water as it is the fastest growing beverage in the
world with no signs of demands for it abating in the near future. According to a
new market report published by Transparency Market Research global bottled water
market was valued at $157.27 billion in 2013, which is expected to reach $279.65
billion by 2020, growing at a rate of 8.7% from 2014 to 2020. By volume, global
bottled water market is expected to grow at a rate of 8.3% during the forecast
period from 2014 to 2020 to reach a market size of 465.12 billion litres by 2020. In
2013, volume of the market was 267.91.billion litres. The global bottled water
market is dominated by Asia, Europe, Mexico and the US, which account for over
60% of the market value with strong growth in India. Over the past five years
alone, bottled water has increased its share of stomach of the overall beverage
market from 14.4 percent in 2009, to 17.8 percent in 2014. It is predicted that by
2016 bottled water will be the number one packaged beverage sold in the United
States. The demand is down to rising concern for health and wellbeing and also
clever marketing campaigns and bottle designs.
With this sustained demand for bottled water it is imperative that the production
process for bottled water should be modeled on the circular economy to ensure that
the materials and resources required for the production be re used and replenished.

Essay On Australian Republic
The cause of a republic is simply, purely, patriotic. We love this country, and its
people, so much that I believe our head of state should be one of us an Australian
qualified not by their dynasty, but by their citizenship to our country, Australia. Right
now our head of state is the head of state of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth.
It is difficult to know what monarchy represents in modern Australia. In 1901 the
queen was necessary, we were not an independent nation, and we needed the monarch
to guide our small country. But by the 1950s and 1960s, we had already developed
our sense of a Australian Culture . So much that already the British were reluctant to
intervene here.
But times have changed for Australia, we are no longer subordinate ... Show more

The republic is an opportunity to give a voice and shape to multicultural society, to
define and express its democratic values, and to formalise our relationship with
Indigenous Australians. By removing the monarchy, Australia will be forced to
explicitly declare the sovereignty in its Constitution. Meaning will can finally
recognise Australia s history and declare the Aboringals s prior occupation to the
continent in the Constitution.
But don t worry people if you feel we will lose our connection to our sister nation,
you will see the Women s Day exclusive on Kate s number two baby, even possibly
some pics of Prince Harry s drunken night outs in Las Vegas and don t be concerned
the banter will still continue with the Poms, the barmy army will still hit our shores
for the next ashes series, probably another 5 Nil whitewash,
Nevertheless one thing is clear. Without bold and courageous political leadership and
a more energetic and vocal republican movement, Australia will remain a constitional
monarchy indefinitely. We must inject a sense of urgency into the debate. Then
maybe, just maybe we can become one, united
The Function Of Critical Reflection In Social Work
Critical reflection is both a theory and a process that involves engaging and
understanding the interconnections between assumptions, emotions, thoughts,
reactions, meanings and values (Fook Garnder, 2007). Critical reflection in social
work can challenge assumptions, values and beliefs either from our own upbringing
or stemmed from societal attitudes and perceptions (Agglias et al., 2010).
From my placement experiences, I had related a lot to adolescents because we were
so close in age. One of my strengths that I had identified early on in placement was
that I could be naturally empathetic and adapt my communication style with this
target group with ease. By working closely with adolescents in my supervisor s
caseload and building rapport with them, I could see firsthand the impacts of what
placement breakdowns had on them, and how this affected their self esteem and
confidence. For this reason, I am very passionate about working with adolescents and
working towards change which ultimately impacts my practice.
However, I found that from professional experiences, within the CP agency context,
advocating for adolescents was a challenging task.
There was an incident on placement where I did not agree with how a high school
wellbeing coordinator responded to a disclosure about sexual harassment and assault
occurring on school grounds on behalf of a young person. In summary, this
wellbeing coordinator questioned the validity of the experience stating that
sometimes girls make malicious comments against other students , as well as
saying that it was child protection s responsibility despite it occurring on school
grounds. When fed this back this to my team, I was told to write the conversation
in a case note, and to carry on to another task. This did not stop there as I took this
to the team manager who sat down with me and wrote a complaint to the
department of education. In terms of this paper, and relevance, I believe there needs
to be collaboration across the sector. This experience alone allowed me to reflect on
the importance of advocacy is in social work, and how one difference of one person
can make an impact. Drawing from Gardner s model, what I have learnt from this
which impacts on this

Jung
Biography
Carl Gustav Jung was born July 26, 1875, in the small Swiss village of Kessewil.
His father was Paul Jung, a country parson, and his mother was Emilie Preiswerk
Jung. He was surrounded by a fairly well educated extended family, including quite
a few clergymen and some eccentrics as well. The elder Jung started Carl on Latin
when he was six years old, beginning a long interest in language and literature
especially ancient literature. Besides most modern western European languages,
Jung could read several ancient ones, including Sanskrit, the language of the
original Hindu holy books. Carl was a rather solitary adolescent, who didn t care
much for school, and especially couldn t take competition. He went to boarding
school in Basel, Switzerland, where he found himself the object of a lot of jealous
harassment. He began to use sickness as an excuse, developing an embarrassing
tendency to faint under pressure. Although his first career choice was archeology, he
went on to study medicine at the University of Basel. While working under the
famous neurologist Krafft Ebing, he settled on psychiatry as his career. After
graduating, he took a position at the Burghoeltzli Mental Hospital in Zurich under
Eugene Bleuler, an expert on (and the namer of) schizophrenia. In 1903, he married

Chipotle Process Structure
Beating the Competition with Process Structure, Design Strategy, and Customer
Management
Steve Ells, Founder and Co CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill Restaurant, states that,
Our focus on our unique people and food culture has created an impressive demand
for a restaurant experience that is redefining fast food for the better. This statement
from Ells displays the foundation of Chipotle Restaurant s success with their fast
casual brand. This industry has grown 550% since 1999 due to customers seeking out
fast yet healthier alternatives for their lunch and dinner (Ferdman, 2015).
Chipotle opened its first restaurant in 1993 with the goal of providing high quality
ingredients in their preparation of their food selection. Consideration of how the
food is harvested, the environment, and treatment of animals are held as a high
priority for the socially responsible Chipotle Restaurant. Food is made without
artificial flavors or fillers. In 2015, Chipotle has succeeded to start offering food
without GMO ingredients (Chipotle, 2015). A GMO (genetically modified organism)
are foods that are produced using genetic engineering. (Seeds of Deception, 2014)
For this analysis, recommendations will be delivered on how Chipotle Mexican Grill
can defeat their fast casual restaurant competitors. This can be done by adopting the
business processes of their competitors through design strategy, customer
management, and process structure. The analysis will show the process structure of

The Nigerian And The American Legal Systems
INTRODUCTION
The Nigerian and the American legal systems share a lot of common ground. Having
been colonized by Britain, both countries share a lot of characteristics with the
English legal system. Both are common law legal systems based on English common
law both at federal and state levels apart from the state of Louisiana in the United
States that is based on the Napoleonic civil code. Both countries are constitution
based federal republics and have bicameral legislatures consisting of the Senate and
House of Representatives in the United States (Congress) and House of Assembly
and House of Representatives in Nigeria (National Assembly). Despite the fact that
Nigeria and America have similar legal systems, there are still some apparent
variations in terms of practice and procedure a key component of effective
dispensation of justice. Essentially, what obstructs quick dispensation of justice and
case management is not the law; rather, it is the practice and procedure.
JURISDICTION OF COURTS
In the English case of Bremer Vulkan Schiffbau und Maschinenfabrik v. South India
Shipping Corporation Ltd, Lord Diplock defined the court s inherent jurisdiction as
a general power to control its own procedure so as to prevent its being used to
achieve injustice. Lord Denning finely affirmed, Whenever a tribunal goes wrong in
law, it goes outside the jurisdiction conferred on it and its decision is void.
Jurisdiction is fundamental in every proceeding in a court. If a court
The Carnal Prayer Mat by Yu Li
Vesperus masculine beauty is a central theme in Li Yu s moral comedy, The Carnal
Prayer Mat. What s more, his life trajectory parallels non Mahayana Indic accounts of
Siddhartha s path to enlightenment, particularly on the emphasis placed on
descriptions of both men s physical perfection and their subsequent sexual appetite
and prowess. Both Vesperus and Siddhartha s masculine beauty propels them forward
on their life paths, positioning them in the simultaneously instructive and destructive
feminine sphere of the inner quarter. The wealth of sexual experiences gives both
men the necessary insight for their critical realization of the superficiality and
emptiness of a life guided by carnaldesires and sexual pursuits of women. As a...

What s more, these gifts of beauty and intelligence are described as Heavenly
endowed. When first meeting Vesperus, Lone Peak muses, What a fine
intelligence the man has! But the Creator is at fault for giving him this physical
form. Why match a heart that was meant for the study of Buddha with a face that
will lead to damnable deeds? (Yu 21). This sentiment of beauty as a cosmic gift
from higher beings is echoed in Vesperus narcissistic self reflection when deciding
whether to take a life path of asceticism, filial piety, or sexual debauchery: Since
Heaven has given birth to someone like me, it must also have given birth to a girl fit
to be my mate....That is why at twenty I am still unmarried I want to do full justice
to my genius and my looks (Yu 25).
Vesperus wish to do justice to his intellectual brilliance and looks speaks to the
degree to which masculine beauty is an important catalyst of sexual desire and
subsequent acts of seduction and moral transgression. Lone Peak describes Buddha,
the Lord of Heaven, as a doting and overly indulgent parent who has blundered in
giving a favored child, Vesperus, too many blessings:
By the time the boy grows up, he is convinced that his body and nature were given
to him by Heaven and Earth and nurtured by his father and mother so that no harm
will ever befall him, and he does any wicked thing that enters his head. Only

Field Trip Essay

  • 1. Field Trip Essay Embarking on the task of crafting an essay on the subject of a field trip may initially seem like a straightforward endeavor, evoking memories of carefree excursions and exciting adventures. However, delving deeper into the process unveils the intricate layers of difficulty that lie beneath the surface. The challenge lies not merely in recounting the events of the trip but in capturing the essence of the experience, translating it into words that engage the reader and convey the significance of the outing. One of the primary obstacles faced in crafting a compelling field trip essay is the delicate balance between providing vivid descriptions of the surroundings and ensuring that the narrative maintains coherence. The writer must transport the reader to the destination, utilizing descriptive language that appeals to the senses without becoming excessively verbose. Striking this balance requires a keen sense of observation and the ability to select details that contribute to the overall narrative without overwhelming the reader. Additionally, the challenge extends to the task of infusing the essay with a personal touch. While recounting the events, the writer must convey not only the external experiences but also the internal reflections and emotions evoked by the field trip. This demands a level of introspection and self-awareness, as the writer grapples with articulating the impact of the excursion on their own perspective and understanding. Moreover, the essay must transcend the boundaries of a mere chronological account of events. It should weave a cohesive narrative that explores themes, connections, and the broader implications of the field trip. This requires analytical thinking and the ability to discern patterns or insights that may not be immediately apparent. Transforming a series of events into a narrative with depth and meaning elevates the difficulty of the task. In conclusion, crafting a compelling field trip essay is a challenging undertaking that demands a blend of descriptive prowess, self-reflection, and analytical thinking. It requires the writer to navigate the complexities of storytelling, transforming a seemingly simple recounting of events into a narrative that captivates the reader. While the challenge may be daunting, the rewards lie in the ability to convey the richness of the field trip experience and leave a lasting impression on the audience. • 5. On How My Travel Experiences Changed My Views of Life I thought I would discuss my travel experiences and how it has changed my views of life. I have been to the Caribbean many times, for example, Cuba, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, St. Maarten to name a few. I have also backpacked through Thailand and would like to discuss what I have learned from a few of these countries and how these experiences have affected my perspective. Travelling to Cuba for the first time was amazing. Having only travelled to Mexico once before my first trip to Cuba I noticed a contrast in cultures even though my assumption was they would be similar because they are both Spanish speaking. My first trip to Varadero was over 12 years ago. I was informed that the locals valued tips of crayons, toothbrushes, razors, and toiletries, but I was unsure why. I later realized it was because of the embargos, they had no, or very limited access to, these items and many more. I remember going into Havana and while taking in the breathtaking sights, being followed by many locals who were rubbing their arms. I had no idea what was going on and was later informed that they were asking for soap. SOAP! I thought to myself, not money or food, but soap? Something I had taken for granted my whole life. In my many discussions with the locals I learned they were very educated, most of whom were doctors and environmental or corporate lawyers. Education is free in Cuba and homes are also provided for free, therefore, many Cubans go to University for many

  • 7. Peenemunde Research Paper Beginning from deep within the depths of Nazi held territory to appearing on virtually every continent. Ballistic Missiles have had a long history dating back to 1939 and the beginning of the V Weapons program, and have been around in one way or another for over 70 years, indeed the advent of modern missile technology has changed the face of modern warfare and politics, and coupled with the advent of the two stage hydrogen bomb, they have now brought humanity the closest to another World War. Ballistic missile development, proliferation, and usage have had one of the largest and most profound impacts on modern warfare and international politics. On the cold and misty morning of October 3rd, 1942 Wernher Von Braun and his team at the remote baltic island of Peenemunde stood around a launch console from their safety bunker looking upon the apex of their years of engineering. For years the team at Peenemunde, under the direct orders of the FГјhrer himself labored building the most technologically advanced weapon system ever devised, in an operation rivaling the scale of the Manhattan project. For years the RAF under the command of Bomber Harris... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beginning with the progenitor to the V 2 Rocket, the V 1 was another Peenemunde invention designed for much the same purpose as the V 2, but with different means to its end. The largest difference is in the flight path, as the term cruise implies, the missile flies at typically low level, at relatively slow velocities as compared to a ballistic missile, which as previously stated follows a ballistic trajectory similar to that of artillery fire. They however are typically guided by the same systems, almost exclusively using either GPS guidance or inertial gyroscopic guidance, however by virtue of their low flying nature, cruise missiles tend to be far more accurate, but with modern guidance systems this reduces to a negligible
  • 8. Social Inequality And Black Magic Abstract The purpose of this paper is to pinpoint various social inequalities featured in the popular television show American Horror Story: Coven. In addition to violence and black magic, the miniseries explored some new horror themes: racism and sexism. Coven was highly heavily criticized by its viewers for including many black stereotypes, trivializing rape, and distastefully portraying women as a mysterious species to men. Sexism and racism are quite prominent in our society and instead of shedding light on these issues with respect, American Horror Story merely exploits them in order to create cheap drama. Keywords: Social inequality, American Horror Story, racism, sexism, stereotypes. Introduction A social inequality is the presence of unequal opportunities for members of a society, and is typically linked to gender inequality and race inequality (Rugaber Boak, 2014). In the United States, social class is often a product of economic class and, sadly, sometimes race. For example, we generally see that wealthy, white males acquire a higher status than most females or people of color. Some argue that these inequalities are detrimental to our society, but according to the functionalist view, social inequalities are necessary to keep our society balanced. Often times these inequalities are reflected in movies and television shows but can be grossly exaggerated, thus contributing to the stereotypes our society has become numb to. This paper will focus on the

  • 10. Southwest Airlines External Analysis Executive Summary: Southwest Airlines has been making changes over the past few years that helped them become the largest low cost carrier in the United States. Most other airlines have been struggling to make it through this economy, but Southwest has found a way to thrive. The airline has dropped their prices and eliminated fees for extras that have allowed them to fill up most flights. One cost they continue to struggle with is offsetting the increasing fuel prices. This has caused some airlines to merge or sell the company to competitors. Introduction: This document will be using Porter s Five Forces Model and a Political, Economic, Social, and Technological (PEST) analysis to conduct an external analysis on Southwest Airlines. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the gas prices rising up every year, it seems like traveling by car is about the same price as flying. The big advantage over bus, car, and train is saving time which is huge to customers who cannot leave their job for a long period of time without being fired or replaced. Bargaining Power of Suppliers (medium) As I stated before, Southwest Airline employees are the highest paid in the industry. The only employees who do not have unions backing them up and can request more money are pilots. This is because there are so many of them awaiting jobs. Another area Southwest has no power over are airplane manufacturers. Companies like Airbus and Boeing can pretty much charge whatever they want because of the experience and technological advances they bring to large aircraft development. Since there are a couple of suppliers, most of these manufacturers know if the deal is not attractive, then the airline will take their business elsewhere. Bargaining Power of Customers (high) Customers has several options when it comes to flying. But the main attraction to customers are low prices and Southwest makes it known that they have some of the lowest airfares. The only way Southwest can take back the power is by offering direct flights to cities that other airliners do not offer. Besides the small occurrence of having a direct flight to a city that no other airline has, Southwest

There s something about the bark of coaches voice that gets everyone focused and ready to play a serious game of football. We absolutely know it s time to work and buckle down as soon as we have to play the game. It s absolutely electrifying to be on that field during your senior year when you know this is your last chance to make things happen. Everyone knows their job once the game starts. If everyone that is on that field does there job and sticks to their responsibilities we would be fine. If the team plays with their heart even when things go bad and not point fingers but instead work as a team and don t give up you will succeed. However, one black character in The Green Berets is not the correct number that was actually represented in Vietnam, because the number of African American soldiers who served in combat far exceeded their percentage of the population. Thus, Wayne did not accurately portray the racial demographic of the military at the time. Roger Ebert vouched, The Green Berets simply will not do as a film about the war in Vietnam. However, what many do not know is that Canada isn t as peace loving or free that others may perceive it to be. There was a time in Canada when there were slaves, such as Black people. Because they were of different colour, many Blacks suffered from racial discrimination, abuse, and the life of just being Black. Fortunately, throughout the centuries, there were Black Canadians who stood up and fought for their chance to be reintegrated into society as a person, and not as a slave. Black Canadians such as Richard Pierpoint, who fought for his people and country, Sam Langford, who fought for his desire to do what he loved and Viola Desmond, who fought for her rights as a human being, proved that to bring change, people must be willing to fight for their beliefs and this in itself will bring change, even if they didn t know that their actions would do so. First of all, there was a man named Richard Pierpoint, also known as Captain Dick and Black Dick, who was born in 1744 in Bondu (now Senegal). He was kidnapped in Bondu in 1760 and was sold into slavery in the United States when he was about 16 years old. Richard s birth name was not discovered, but Richard was probably a name given to him and Pierpoint was probably his owner s last name. During the American Revolution, Pierpoint enlisted with Butler s Rangers, which was a British provincial regiment, composed of Loyalists (or Tories ). By 1779,

Lab Report On The Reaction Time Nicholas Durazo KINE2202 section 002 Lab Report 1 Introduction The reaction time (RT) of students was measured in the experiment to determine whether light or sound stimulus initiates a quicker response time. The question of whether or not RT was related to movement time (MT) was also challenged. Each student performed two test in random order; one testing the reaction time of a red light stimulus, or visual reaction time (VRT); and the other testing the reaction time of a beeping sound stimulus, or auditory reaction time (ART). The student completed the VRT trial by simply receiving the stimulus and pressing a button. The student placing and holding their hand on a button starts the ART trial. Once the student receives the stimulus (beep) they press the adjacent button as fast as they can. The ART trial does not only include the data of the RT, but also the data from the MT. Having previous knowledge that light travels faster than sound; one can predict that VRT is faster than ART. The prediction that MT is independent upon RT can be made with the thought that there are so many opposing variables that could affect the MT of an individual unrelated RT such as old age Methods In the experiment, 80 students were randomly separated into groups of 2 to write down the data from the test for the other individual. The VRT was measured by pressing a button once the student had seen the stimulus. The reaction time data would simply show up on the screen once the student completed

This theory tells us that short lived pairs of particles and their antiparticles are constantly being created and destroyed in an apparently empty space. In Islamic science, cosmology plays an important role as a link between pure metaphysics and the particular sciences and acts as a source of conceptual framework for the unity of science and spiritual knowledge. There are a number of cosmological principles in Islamic science which are formulated based on the relevant Qur anic verses, prophetic traditions and intuitive knowledge of famous traditional Muslim scholars. Considering Students Language Background in Higher Education Assessment Outcomes: The Educational Testing Proficiency Profile The increasing popularity of assessments that measure students college level knowledge and skills has been accompanied in the past decade by the incremental population of college students whose native language is not English or who speak English as a second language (ESL). Higher Education institutions are more often confronted with the task of considering language background when assessing students performance. Although the shifting demographics have become evident in the US, little research exists on outcomes derived of performance assessment of ESL students. The validity of such tests on non native speakers as well as item analysis have been subject of minimal research. Considering the implications of college assessment outcomes, the importance of taking in account language background when applying these measures becomes significant. The challenge of maintaining equitability in higher education for all students has been impacted by the growing number of ESL students from international an immigrant backgrounds. The ESL student population in colleges and universities may additionally be underestimated due to students who speak English and another language with the same proficiency or those who choose not to identify themselves as nonnative English speakers. Because federal money was deposited in The First National Bank, General Swayne, a commanding officer of the United States troops in the Selma district moved in quickly, closed the bank and had Parkman arrested. (Windham and Figh, 81) Parkman was taken under guard to Cahaba and confined in Castle Morgan, the prison which had only a short time before been used by the Confederate government for the incarceration of Yankee prisoners. He managed to escape from that prison; however, as he was climbing a prison wall, an alarm sounded, and some shots were fired . There were several stories surrounding Parkman s fate. Some people speculated that he dived into the nearby river and drowned. Other people claimed his body was buried under one of the huge trees at the rear of Sturdivant Hall. Although his death remained a mystery, students of the supernatural say that Parkman s ghost had came back to try to clear his name about three years later, after the home had been sold. However, in other forms of literature, authors may seek not to persuade. It has also come to light that many faith schools teach a very narrow worldview pertaining of just their own beliefs (NSS, 2015). Furthermore the school age was raised to 15 in 1947, with secondary education beginning at 11. Though the lack of funding and teaching costs meant this took a long time to fully implement as the act stated it should be raised to 16 as soon as feasibly possible but this did not happen until 1972. Other changes included free milk and meals, clothing grants as well as transport to and from schools. As families would normally expect children to be working by the age of 13 14 these measures ensured there was not too high a financial burden on parents. Few debates in education have been given more time than grammar schools. Though not a part of the 1944 Act the tripartite system was based on a report by the Norward committee (1943); which made recommendations based on the pseudoscience notion of there being three types of mind:

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many species are completely aquatic during the juvenile part of the lifecycle. For example, frogs have to reproduce in water because amphibian eggs do not have the protection of the amniotic sac. As a result, the adults must return to a water source to reproduce. As tadpoles grow into adults they form limbs that allow them to walk on land. Because of the restriction to semi aquatic environment, the tetrapod structure of amphibians is not as diverse as the other classes of tetrapods. However, there are groups that deviate from the norm by a lot. Caecilians are limbless amphibians. At first glance they do not look like tetrapods but the lack of limbs is a derived secondary characteristic. Their bodies have adapted for burrowing in the ground. Reptiles, the next tetrapods to emerge, were a very successful version of amphibians. As opposed to amphibians, reptiles did not require water for the reproduction process they produced shelled amniotic eggs to protect their embryos from the environment. Due to the reduced dependence on water, reptiles were able to explore many new environments and as a result their limbs evolved in a variety of ways. Crocdylotarsians developed a normal ankle which swings to the side when walking, making walking slightly more efficient. Dinosaurs developed a hole in their hip socket that allowed them to stand upright and to move significantly faster. Another way some terrestrial reptiles

The Function Of Critical Reflection In Social Work Critical reflection is both a theory and a process that involves engaging and understanding the interconnections between assumptions, emotions, thoughts, reactions, meanings and values (Fook Garnder, 2007). Critical reflection in social work can challenge assumptions, values and beliefs either from our own upbringing or stemmed from societal attitudes and perceptions (Agglias et al., 2010). From my placement experiences, I had related a lot to adolescents because we were so close in age. One of my strengths that I had identified early on in placement was that I could be naturally empathetic and adapt my communication style with this target group with ease. By working closely with adolescents in my supervisor s caseload and building rapport with them, I could see firsthand the impacts of what placement breakdowns had on them, and how this affected their self esteem and confidence. For this reason, I am very passionate about working with adolescents and working towards change which ultimately impacts my practice. However, I found that from professional experiences, within the CP agency context, advocating for adolescents was a challenging task. There was an incident on placement where I did not agree with how a high school wellbeing coordinator responded to a disclosure about sexual harassment and assault occurring on school grounds on behalf of a young person. In summary, this wellbeing coordinator questioned the validity of the experience stating that sometimes girls make malicious comments against other students , as well as saying that it was child protection s responsibility despite it occurring on school grounds. When fed this back this to my team, I was told to write the conversation in a case note, and to carry on to another task. This did not stop there as I took this to the team manager who sat down with me and wrote a complaint to the department of education. In terms of this paper, and relevance, I believe there needs to be collaboration across the sector. This experience alone allowed me to reflect on the importance of advocacy is in social work, and how one difference of one person can make an impact. Not long afterward, he died of the cancer of the mouth and jaw that he had suffered from for the last 20 years of his life Jung Biography Carl Gustav Jung was born July 26, 1875, in the small Swiss village of Kessewil. His father was Paul Jung, a country parson, and his mother was Emilie Preiswerk Jung. He was surrounded by a fairly well educated extended family, including quite a few clergymen and some eccentrics as well. The elder Jung started Carl on Latin when he was six years old, beginning a long interest in language and literature especially ancient literature. Besides most modern western European languages, Jung could read several ancient ones, including Sanskrit, the language of the original Hindu holy books. Carl was a rather solitary adolescent, who didn t care much for school, and especially couldn t take competition. He went to boarding school in Basel, Switzerland, where he found himself the object of a lot of jealous harassment. He began to use sickness as an excuse, developing an embarrassing tendency to faint under pressure. Although his first career choice was archeology, he went on to study medicine at the University of Basel. While working under the famous neurologist Krafft Ebing, he settled on psychiatry as his career. After graduating, he took a position at the Burghoeltzli Mental Hospital in Zurich under Eugene Bleuler, an expert on (and the namer of) schizophrenia. In 1903, he married Emma Rauschenbach.

  • 52. The Nigerian And The American Legal Systems INTRODUCTION The Nigerian and the American legal systems share a lot of common ground. Having been colonized by Britain, both countries share a lot of characteristics with the English legal system. Both are common law legal systems based on English common law both at federal and state levels apart from the state of Louisiana in the United States that is based on the Napoleonic civil code. Both countries are constitution based federal republics and have bicameral legislatures consisting of the Senate and House of Representatives in the United States (Congress) and House of Assembly and House of Representatives in Nigeria (National Assembly). Despite the fact that Nigeria and America have similar legal systems, there are still some apparent variations in terms of practice and procedure a key component of effective dispensation of justice. Essentially, what obstructs quick dispensation of justice and case management is not the law; rather, it is the practice and procedure. JURISDICTION OF COURTS In the English case of Bremer Vulkan Schiffbau und Maschinenfabrik v. South India Shipping Corporation Ltd, Lord Diplock defined the court s inherent jurisdiction as a general power to control its own procedure so as to prevent its being used to achieve injustice. Lord Denning finely affirmed, Whenever a tribunal goes wrong in law, it goes outside the jurisdiction conferred on it and its decision is void. Jurisdiction is fundamental in every proceeding in a court. If a court
  • 53. The Carnal Prayer Mat by Yu Li Vesperus masculine beauty is a central theme in Li Yu s moral comedy, The Carnal Prayer Mat. What s more, his life trajectory parallels non Mahayana Indic accounts of Siddhartha s path to enlightenment, particularly on the emphasis placed on descriptions of both men s physical perfection and their subsequent sexual appetite and prowess. Both Vesperus and Siddhartha s masculine beauty propels them forward on their life paths, positioning them in the simultaneously instructive and destructive feminine sphere of the inner quarter. The wealth of sexual experiences gives both men the necessary insight for their critical realization of the superficiality and emptiness of a life guided by carnaldesires and sexual pursuits of women. As a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What s more, these gifts of beauty and intelligence are described as Heavenly endowed. When first meeting Vesperus, Lone Peak muses, What a fine intelligence the man has! But the Creator is at fault for giving him this physical form. Why match a heart that was meant for the study of Buddha with a face that will lead to damnable deeds? (Yu 21). This sentiment of beauty as a cosmic gift from higher beings is echoed in Vesperus narcissistic self reflection when deciding whether to take a life path of asceticism, filial piety, or sexual debauchery: Since Heaven has given birth to someone like me, it must also have given birth to a girl fit to be my mate....That is why at twenty I am still unmarried I want to do full justice to my genius and my looks (Yu 25). Vesperus wish to do justice to his intellectual brilliance and looks speaks to the degree to which masculine beauty is an important catalyst of sexual desire and subsequent acts of seduction and moral transgression. Lone Peak describes Buddha, the Lord of Heaven, as a doting and overly indulgent parent who has blundered in giving a favored child, Vesperus, too many blessings: By the time the boy grows up, he is convinced that his body and nature were given to him by Heaven and Earth and nurtured by his father and mother so that no harm will ever befall him, and he does any wicked thing that enters his head.
