Essay On The Hunger Games
Crafting an essay on the topic of "The Hunger Games" can be both intriguing and challenging.
On one hand, the novel presents a rich tapestry of themes, characters, and social commentary
that provide ample material for analysis. On the other hand, the depth and complexity of the
narrative demand a careful and thoughtful exploration to do justice to the nuances within
Suzanne Collins' work.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the dystopian world of Panem, deciphering its
intricacies, and understanding the symbolism embedded in the Hunger Games themselves. The
story's exploration of power, survival, and rebellion against oppressive systems adds another
layer of complexity. Analyzing the characters, from the resilient Katniss Everdeen to the
enigmatic President Snow, requires a keen understanding of their motivations and roles within
the narrative.
Furthermore, addressing the social and political allegories within the novel demands a nuanced
approach. Delving into the critique of reality television, examining the socio-economic
disparities, and deciphering the effects of authoritarian rule on society necessitate a thorough
examination of the text and a grasp of broader cultural contexts.
Maintaining a balance between summarizing the plot and providing insightful analysis poses yet
another challenge. Striking this balance is crucial to ensure that the essay is not merely a retelling
of events but an exploration of the deeper layers and messages woven into the fabric of "The
Hunger Games."
In conclusion, writing an essay on "The Hunger Games" requires a careful and thoughtful
approach. It demands an in-depth understanding of the novel's themes, characters, and socio-
political commentary. However, the challenge is not insurmountable, and with a focused and
analytical mindset, one can unravel the complexities of the narrative.

Leadership Of The Coast Guard
1.Leadership in the Coast Guard is the process of guiding and inspiring others
toward closer adherence to the core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to
Duty. Leadership is a set of behaviors rather than just a set of ideals. Ideals are
good, but ideals without the corresponding behaviors are useless. The best way to
guide others is to show by example; a true leader not only speaks out in favor of the
corevalues, but also exhibits them in their daily life.
2.Although leadership traits can be studied from textbooks, the best way to adopt
good leadership traits is to follow an example of positive leadership. In my career, I

by own behavior after. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fortunately, another member (also just a non rate fireman, also new to the unit),
finally stepped forward and challenged the behavior of several more senior
members. Although the situation got tense for a few moments, the end result was
that the lack of respect towards our struggling shipmate ended. The courage of
Fireman Neil C. had a profound impact on me. Not only did it put an end to the
disrespectful behavior towards a shipmate, but now, 24 years later, it still has an
impact on me, as it provides me an example of how I should behave.
b.Later, at this same duty station, as a new EM3, I was anxious to prove myself as
a competent electrician. However, during my first month on the job, when
installing a replacement pump motor, I carelessly wired it incorrectly, which
resulted in the windings of the brand new, extremely expensive motor burning out
approximately five minutes after I installed it. I was horrified by this turn of
events. I immediately realized my wiring mistake, but unfortunately I realized it
about five minutes too late. I would have given anything to be able to turn back
time by those five minutes so I could correct my error. I was scared to death. I didn
t know how to tell my supervisor. Our engineering warrant was extremely
demanding, and had just finished yelling at one of the MKs for accidently dropping
a wrench into the bilge. I didn t know what
Nuclear Power Of A Nuclear Plant
A nuclear plant is a power station that generates electricity using nuclear energy by
heat. Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is a disable nuclear power plant in
Japan. It was first committed in 1971. An accident happened on the 11th March 2011
and high radioactive releases within a week has made huge damages and impact on
the environment the population. Only two events like this have happened in the
history. The other one was Chernobyl accident in April 1986.
Nuclear plants work the same way as plants that burn oil or gas, which then boils
water to produce steam that turns turbines and produce electricity. But the difference
is that nuclear power plant do not burn anything like others do, instead, they use
uranium 235. All these processes will be happening in a sealed environment, which in
Japan was the Fukushima Daishi Nuclear Plant Station.
All the disasters were started by an earthquake. The huge earthquakes then caused a
15 metre tsunami disabled the power supply and cooling of three Fukushima Daiichi
reactors. As the tsunami wave keep on hitting all the pools, reactors and where the
generating of heat takes place, all parts of the station have had huge losses and
damages. All 4 units had lost power at 3.42 pm, almost an hour after the quake, when
the entire site was flooded by the 15 metre tsunami. Eleven reactors at four nuclear
power plants in the region were operating at the time and all shut down automatically
when the quake hit. When the diesel generators
Humanistic Perspective Case Study
The behavioral perspective focuses only on observable behavior. From this point
of view, Jake has anxiety because now he has to work hard in order to keep a good
grade in the class. He might ve had a previous experience where he had to work
hard in a class that ended pretty bad, so now he associates a heavy workload with
negative consequences, such as a failing grade. If Jake was treated using the
behavioral approach, they would condition him to associate studying and working
hard with positive consequences instead of with negative consequences.
Psychologists today view the behavioral perspective as an important constituent to
other modern perspectives. The humanistic perspective emphasizes the human
potential and the fact that people have free will. From this perspective, Jake has
anxiety because before this class, he was always doing the best that he could and
reaching his full potential, and now he fears that since the class is harder than the
rest of the classes he s ever taken, then he will not reach his full potential in this
class. If Jake was treated using the humanistic approach, they will make him realize
that he has the freedom to choose their own path, and that he has control over his own
life. Today, psychologists use the humanistic perspective as a form of psychotherapy
that focuses on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From this point of view, Jake has anxiety either from his environment or because of
genetics. There is something wrong in his amygdala and hippocampus, and it causes
him to worry about every little thing. If Jake was treated using the cognitive
approach, they would put him on anxiety medication. For example, they would
probably make him take Xanax or Valium. Today, the cognitive perspective is
constantly being improved by technology that can show the structure and activity of
the living brain, such as the MRI and PET
Corruption Of Prisoners In Plato s Arguments Of
Democracy
In a dark cave there are prisoners, restricted to seeing what shadows puppeteers cast
upon the stone screen in front of them. This timeless story by Plato, used as a
metaphor for those that are, to the philosopher Plato, lowbrows, and have no desire
to question what is around them and find the truth and embrace ignorance. I have
experienced this first hand, being an exemplification of what it means to not
question what I have faith in, or seek more. However, I have also experienced what
it is to be the prisonerthat turns his head, as well as the prisoner that turns the other
cheek.
When Plato was writing this dialogue, his goal was to show those in the
metaphorical cave, how daft and short sided he believes them to be. When Plato
articulates the puppeteers through the voice of Socrates, he says, ...and between the
fire and the prisoners there is a raised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Currently, I believe our nation s voters are in a bad state, to quote Winston
Churchill, The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with
the average voter. I believe you can apply these words to show how corrupt the
average voter is. Today, the prisoners in the cave are those that vote according to
social standards, and support whatever is generally accepted as just. Those that turn
their heads are those that vote and mold their beliefs to reflect the word of God
through Jesus Christ. 11 score and 19 years ago, the founding fathers turned their
heads from the Europe and created a great nation following these beliefs. As said by
Os Guinness, Beyond any question, the way the American founders consistently
linked faith and freedom, republicanism and religion, was not only deliberate and
thoughtful, it was also surprising and anything but routine. When Americans as a
whole return to this, democracy will be
Essay on The Science of the Sexes
Schopenhauer, the German pessimist philosopher, wrote in 1851 that only a man
overcome by his sexual impulses could have given the name of the fair sex to that
undersized, narrow shouldered, broad hipped and short legged race.
Despite the many differences between the sexes, from average weight and height to
body fat, there has been an assumption that these are only skin deep and that intellect
is essentially the same.
The recent publications of the latest in a growing body of research demonstrate that
our brains are different too and fuel the fear that science may provide an antidote to
demands for women s emancipation: if male dominance is all the nature s fault, then
patriarchy is inevitable.
Feminist can, however, breathe a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Residing on the male Y chromosome, the gene switches on a cascade of genes that
make testicles. These in turn bathe the body in testosterone. Many of the differences
in male and female rodent behaviour are testosterone derived, said Prof Goodfellow.
If you give a female rat a short burst of testosterone shortly after birth you end up with
a female that demonstrates male behaviour. But there is a lot of argument about
whether a similar thing occurs in humans.
Five years ago, Anne Moir and David Jessel claimed in the book BrainSex that to
believe the sexes are the same is to build a society based on a biological and
scientific lie. There are indeed many documented differences between the sexes in
humans, rats and guinea pigs. However, the best known are in deep regions that
control sexual behaviour, a find that is hardly surprising.
It was only last year that scientists announced they had found differences in the thin
rind on the surface of the brain responsible for higher intellectual abilities. Sandra
Witelson, of McMaster University, told the US Society of Neuroscience that women
had 11 percent more brain cells in the regions near the temples, one crucial for
understanding language in the left hemisphere, and for recognizing melodies and
tonal qualities in speech in the right.
This apparently dovetails with the claim of Moir and Jessel that, as a result of
different levels of exposure to sex hormone at birth, brains work along different lines

Tess Of The DUrbervilles Character Analysis
So, officer please, that s the man who s destroyed my existence. Yeah, he begged and
he screamed just like I did. And, for this, I was willing to die. It was all I could do to
survive. These words are from the song Tess timony by Ice Nine Kills. The song is
based on the book Tess of the D urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. It tells the story of Tess
Durbeyfield s survival after being raped by her wealthy, newly found cousin, Alec
D urberville. The story ends in the inevitable murder of Alec by Tess and her
execution. This book has brought me much comfort during the nights when I find
it hard to breathe out of the pain of the memory of my own tragedy. It helps me
survive. It helps me suppress all of that agony. Sometimes, you just have to learn to
bury things to the point of never resurfacing. Everyone has experiences they wish
to conceal. To be completely honest, this is only one of my many tragedies that I
am willing to share. I will start with my relationship with him. I am a person with
the tendency to try to fix people, even when some people who are messed up
beyond all repair. He was an addict with mommy issues and a criminal record. Do
you see why I felt the need to fix him? But, I had no idea what I was getting into.
Everyone warned me, this is true. And there were many signs that should have drove
me away. Yes, he was my boyfriend. I thoughtI loved him, but it was only pity. And
many would say I asked for it by just being with him. No one deserves it. No one asks
Ukiah Valley Groundwater Basin Case Study

years from other sources. In the years from 2005 to 2010 surface water was
obtained through a contract with Sonoma County Water Agency and in 2015 in
order to meet domestic water demands groundwater from well 6, located near
Millview County Water District, was obtained. Through their own water right, up
to 4,900 AF/y of surface water maybe diverted from Lake Mendocino from
November 1 to April 30 when the flow at the confluence of the East Fork and West
Fork of the Russian River is above 150 cfs and the storage in Lake Mendocino is
greater than 72,000 AF (Agency). Essentially, Redwood Valley County Water District
has a relatively un exercisable water right.
Rogina Water Company is a private water company that provides water to a small
service area of about 990 connections (Agency). The water supply obtained stems
from a RRFC contract to purchase 400 AF/y of surface water while the rest of their
water supplies comes from their groundwater wells (Agency). However, the water
that may be pumped as groundwater may actually be underflow from the Russian

Opal Mining Of Australi The Mining Capital Of The World
Opal Mining in Australia
Australia contains a lot of opal, especially in South Australia producing an estimated
95 97% of the world s opal supply. All of the opal mines in Australia are located in
the Artesian Basin which contains many mining towns such as Lightning Ridge,
Andamooka, White Cliffs and Coober Pedy, which has been called the mining capital
of the world.
All of these towns are situated in Australia s outback, the land mostly consisting of
barren dry rock and dirt. But hiding in the endless dusty land and rocks are masses of
Opal. Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge, and Andamooka are home to many Opal mines,
most of which are underground mines. The whole of Coober Pedy has many
underground mines for opals extending out 40kms around the town with over
200,000 mine shafts which can be up to 27m deep. Andamooka another prominent
mining town has 52km2 of mines both underground and open mines, three to ten
meters deep into the seabed.
In all of these rural mining towns there is not that much infrastructure due to the
small populations and most residents will either be in the mining or tourism
industry. This is good for mining as more of the land is able to use to mine the
opals. In Coober Pedy a lot of residents live in underground homes called dugouts
because of the harsh hot weather in Coober Pedy. This meant that there was no
concern for the underground mines as they did not interfere with residential living
space, in fact many homes were made out of old mines. There
Montclair Reflection
I am choosing to apply for admission to Montclair because of my visit to an open

really created a nice environment and were people I could see myself learning
from in the future and being successful. I think having personable professors like
those would make my academic life flourish because i d be especially willing to
learn and comfortable asking for help. On top of this, even though it was raining, I
enjoyed my visit of the campus and liked the buildings and how there were lots of
food options. I think my academic strengths are probably seated in being able to seek

Social Darwinist Society During The Nineteenth Century
America established itself as a world power by the beginning of the twentieth
century. The nation s industrial sector remained the largest in the world, gasoline
cars were introduced, telephones were used, and cities were growing. Wealth could
be attained, and was seen as a tangible goal. With the many different theories and
revolutions endured throughout the nineteenth century, it was certainly an exciting
time to be alive; but only if you were of Aryan race in the upper middle class. Social
Darwinism is a term and social theory formed in the late nineteenth century to
describe the idea that humans compete in a struggle for existence. This competition is
also linked to Charles Darwins theory of natural selection, resulting in survival of
the fittest. The misapplied social term of social Darwinism is typically used in
regards to the belief that wealthy Anglo Saxon s are biologically racially superior.
Many people correlate the social Darwinist theory to the heightened rationalization of
imperialism, racism, and capitalism, and the term typically has a negative connotation
due to the vague understanding of it being attributed to a rejection of social
responsibility and compassion. Active Social Darwinist s believe that government
should not aid or interfere with societal human competition by attempting to regulate
the economy or contributing to government funded programs. The laissez faire
political idea is a direct reflection of a hands off capitalist society.
Machiavelli s Beliefs In The Film, The Mission
The movie, The Mission, begins with Jesuit priest, Father Gabriel, entering the
Guarani tribe in South America. Shortly after, he is joined by Rodrigo Mendoza, a
nearby prisoner who has been seeking penance. With the intent of converting the
natives to Christianity, they were able to generate a bond that forces them to protect
each other by whatever means necessary. After a treaty transferred their land from
Spain to Portugal, Mendoza and Gabriel become determined to defend the mission,
even if they disagreed on the way they would accomplish the complex task.
Machiavelli s teaching are heavily present throughout the film, copiously reflecting
his beliefs within each community represented. Macchiavelli created an ideology that
encouraged the
Revolutions of 1848
The Revolutions of 1848 were a series of political and economic revolts that took
place in Europe because of a recession and abuse of political power. Although changes
were made all throughout Europe, the original, oppressive government took back
control soon after, undoing the work of the revolutionaries. Although these changes
didn t last long, the revolutions did prove to both the governments and
revolutionaries that the people had the power to undermine the government in order
to bring about reform and create the policies of socialism and liberalism.
There was a pattern, or cycle that was evident throughout these revolutions. This cycle
had four distinctive stages: First, the workers, university students, and other

In the summer of 1849, a Roman republic crated by Giuseppe Mazzini and Giuseppe
Garibaldi collapsed, and the Austrian forces took back control of Venice.
In Italy, the Napoleonic Era awakened liberalism and nationalism. Many Italians
longed for an Italy unified under a republican constitution. This movement was led
by Giuseppe Mazzini, who, in 1832, started Young Italy, which was a patriotic
society that advocated and was ready to fight for the unification of Italy if
necessary. In 1848, revolts broke out in several Italian states. These revolts forced
the leaders to establish the constitutions of the revolutionaries. In Sardinia, King
Charles Albert was one who voluntarily granted a new constitution to his people.
However, these strides in progress were soon crushed and repressed when in came
the Austrian army. Charles tried to drive the Austrians out of north Italy, but was
defeated at Custoza in 1848 and Novara in 1849 and was abdicated. Revolutions
elsewhere were suppressed, including one in Rome, where Mazzini had formed a
short lived republic. The movement for the unification of Italy was temporarily shut
off until 1859.
The wave of revolt also swept across the states of the German Confederation. In the
spring of 1848, riots broke out as German people sought freedom from their
repressive rulers. The Prussian king, Frederick William IV, was forced to agree to a
democratic constitution and to support the unification of German states when the
The Impact Of The Allies In World War II
World War II, the second time of the world war, lasted from September 1th, 1939 to
September 2th 1945. There were two difference alliances in the WWII, the Axis and
Anti fascist Alliance. The winner of the WWII was Allies, and there are many
reasons that can explain why Allies can win it. The most important reason is that
Allies gained most support from the public and citizens because Allies represented
the justice side. However, there is also a crucial factor that helps the Allies to win
the WWII which is the new invention and technology. Inventors made new weapons
such as tanks, proximity fuses and atom bomb. The impacts of these weapons were

Atom bomb is a new bomb invention during the WWII. Begin in 1944, some
young Japanese men chose to become kamikaze pilots who undertook suicide
missions, crashing their explosive laden airplanes into American warships (Ellis
Esler 588). Because of this team, Japan won a lot of battles and it made the United
States angry. Some scientists offered a new way to end of the war. They invented
a new bomb, this new bomb was super powerful than any bomb before, and this
project is called the Manhattan Project. In July 1945, American successfully tested
the first atom bomb in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Then they told president about
this project, during that time, the president of America is Harry Truman. And he
found that atom bomb was a really useful weapon to end the war, so he decided to
use it to against Japan. They gave Japan a warning about that surrender or complete
destruction and utter devastation . But Japan even didn t care about this. Then, the
hell was coming. On August6, 1945, American dropped the first atom bomb little
boy over the city of Hiroshima. The bomb flattened four square miles and instantly
killed more than 70,000 people (Ellis Esler 589). We can find that the atom bomb
was a definitely destruct weapon, it killed 70,000 people at the same time. We turned

The Dangers Of Eating Processed Meats Essay
Introduction:
Panic has enveloped meat eaters after the World Health Organization deemed
processed and red meat culprits in increasing cancer risks.(1)(2)(3) The announcement
convened in Lyon, France with an International panel of 22 experts who have been
gathering and evaluating years of studies on meat. They all came to the same
conclusion that eating processed meats raises risk of colon cancer, and red meat
probably increases risks for cancer as well.(4)(5)(6) WHO has placed processed and
red meat under the definitely carcinogenic category, which might not be deemed the
most dangerous, but is recognized as hazardous depending on the quantity being
consumed.(6) This news has raised the ire of fast food and meat industries, even
though researchers indicated that at some exposure level and under some
circumstance a substance might increase cancer risk, and even then maybe by just an
insignificant amount.(7)(4) It would be impractical for everyone to stop eating meat
because meat does contain vitamins and nutrients that the body needs like iron and
phosphorus. Individuals should eat meat in moderation, as it has been proposed for
numerous years. Healthy eating guidelines have been provided to the public on what
it recommended to eat for many years, and such accredited places like Academy of
Nutrition and Dietetics, recommend that people should not consume very much red
meat and little to none processed meat. Eating in meat in moderation in the optimum

Database Management Systems That Are Used For Non...
Overview
NoSQL is generally interpreted as Not only SQL [1]. It is a class of database
management systems that are used for non relational database. Typically NoSQL
database does not use two dimensional table to store data. The four generally
categories of NoSQL database are key values database, column databases, document
databases, and graph databases [2]. NoSQL database is an indispensable part of big
data. Most company choose NoSQL database because it yields better performance
when compared to relation database. Many relational databases have been existing
for more than 20 years, while most NoSQL databases have a history of less than 5
years. Because NoSQL databases are so young, they exposes lots of security issues.
Many NoSQL databases are still focusing on adding features and improving
performance, while strength security mechanism is still a low priority task. There
were already two data breaches happened in companies that are using NoSQL
databases (MongoHQ in 2013 and LinkedIn in 2012 [3]).

NoSQL database characteristics
The problem of relational database is that its performance degrade significantly while
handling exponential growth of semi structured data or unstructured data [4]. The
NoSQL databases possess properties called BASE (Basically available, Soft state, and
eventually consistent) that makes it much more scalable than relational databases. As
the CAP theorem [5] said, a database system cannot have high consistency, high
availability,

Nokia used to be the world s leading manufacturer of mobile phone. However, there

Computer Programming And Software Design Essay
INTRODUCTION
An important, underrated and often overlooked tool for Computer Supported
Collaborative Work, henceforth abbreviated CSCW, is the revision control system
or version control system, henceforth abbreviated as RCS, or VCS, respectively.
There are a plethora of RCS and VCS available from which to choose. Within the
field of computer programming and software design, the use of RCS or VCS is a
vital best practice, especially in development environments with many
programmers, developers, engineers, administrators, and managers. However, RCS
or VCS can and should be used wherever there are larger groups of CSCW
regardless of the domain. Henceforth, RCS and VCS shall be referred to as any
generic revision or version control system, abbreviated as RVCS. The significance of
evaluating various RVCS becomes apparent by demonstrating and illustrating their
importance. Such evaluation is then used to produce or derive guidelines that
streamline the selection of the RVCS for a particular CSCW group.
WHAT EXACTLY IS RVCS?
One way to begin operationally defining RVCS is with the simple concept of artifacts
and deliverables produced, created, developed or engineered by the CSCW group.
The sharing of such artifacts is essential in the operations of the CSCW group
(Schmidt, et. al., 2015). Typically, such modern day artifacts or deliverables consist
of documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, tables, graphs, reports, presentations,
and other multimedia. In the domain of computer

The Importance Of Nature For Youth Development
Imagine a boy who has never crunched leaves underfoot as he winds down a forest
trail, or a girl who has never followed frogs along a marsh. Imagine children who
have watched Finding Nemo but never have seen a living fish in a pond, or have
read Charlotte s Web but never seen the morning dew settle on a spider s filaments.
Unfortunately, our imaginations do not need to stray very far to envision lives of
children cut off from nature, solely surrounded by concrete, metal and bricks. Many
Canadian educators intuitively recognize nature experiences as beneficial for youth,
and various sources of information their own experiences, poetry, movies or scientific
studies seem to support such intuitions. Despite the growing cultural awareness of the
importance of nature for youth s development, there seems to be a continuing
emphasis on indoor, disembodied forms of education in classrooms, that are overly
focused on abstract cognition at the expense of emotion, movement, and other
processes rooted in body environment interactions. Why not reconsider the
significance of nature as a valuable object of learning, and reshape the current outdoor
and nature narrative throughout our curriculum? Based on my own personal
experience, Chambers affirmations and Doll s rationale, nature should be considered
as such.
Despite living in an urban setting, I grew up nature. I made dollhouses out of birch
bark inhabited by acorn people, turning rivers into roads for tadpoles. The forest was

Fluid Resuscitation Protocols And Interventions Have...
Fluid Resuscitation in Burn Patients
Fluid resuscitation protocols and interventions have established guidelines for nursing
care of burn patients in hospital settings. Although these protocols aid the nurse in
making treatment decisions, the nurse must first understand the fluid
pathophysiology of burns, the different fluid alternatives, the amount of fluid volume
infusions allowed and their effects within the patient s body, as well as, any
complications related to fluid resuscitation for burn patients. In addition, fluid
resuscitation should be carefully and diligently monitored to ensure the main goal of
therapy which is to attain adequate tissue perfusion while minimizing patient s
complications.
Understanding the fluid pathophysiology of burns
Local and systemic inflammatory response occurs within the body due to fluid shifts
from intravascular compartments into the interstitium caused by changes in
capillary permeability. The body s specific response to burns directly correlates with
the total body surface (TBSA) percentage affected. Patients with 25% TBSA burns
experience an increase in generalized capillary permeability, at 30% TBSA burns
patients are affected by a disruption on the cellular ion gradient lasting several days
and requiring a longer hospitalization stay, and patients with 50% TBSA burns end up
losing half of their fluid resuscitation volume due to increased leaks into the non
thermally injured tissue (Diver). Several studies coincide that the
Karl Marx And Frederick Engels Manifesto Of The
Communist...
Karl Marx and Frederick Engels wrote Manifesto of the Communist Party in 1848
in Brussels. This document was primarily focused on political propaganda that
correlated with two classes of society. It was written during a time of Communism
and social change (Marx, 1). The history of all hitherto existing society is the
history of class struggles (Marx, 2). I believe this statement is saying that class
struggles are the reason society has developed to its current state. Marx and Engels s
primary reasoning for this document is to unveil these class struggles within society.
Society is split between two classes: Bourgeoisie and Proletariat (Marx, 2).
Bourgeoisie is the middle class, and Proletariat is the working class within society.

Reinforcement Is Important When It Comes Learning
Because
Reinforcement is important when it comes to learning because it helps to strengthen
student s responses, but it also can be seen as a source of positive feedback for
children.
According to Vygotsky s theory, scaffolding is when children are given guidance and
support from an adult or a capable peer.
The behavior that we have is affected by the rewards and the punishments that we
have been experienced to in the past, as well as the thoughts, beliefs, and expectations
that we have for ourselves.
When children practice and monitor their strategies to see if they are helping their
reading comprehension, their practice will usually involve them physically
performing the skill and they will verbally guide themselves, which means that they

Your beliefs about reading and writing will also help you to determine the materials
that you decide to use, the writing and reading behaviors that you expect each of your
student s to show, and the standards that you are going to use to evaluate each of your
students.
The Common Core State Standards focus importance on teaching for transfer, which
means that the literacy skills that are presented to students can be used outside of
school and they can be used in other classes as well. The Common Core State
Standards also focus on helping students to see and understand big ideas and being
able to answer questions that are important. Higher level thinking is also emphasized
under the Common Core State Standards.
When it comes to reading English Language Learners will learn more language and
will have the ability to comprehend the language better if they know 98 percent of the
words that are presented in the text that they are reading.
There are some children who hear less than 500 words an hour in their family life,
while other children are exposed to 3,000 words and hour.
Families that talk less to their children, will only use speak that will control and

Market Segmentation And Target Market
Market Segmentation and Targeting
As identified that the ultimate purpose of running an organisation is not only
manufacture their wares but also earn profit. Because of different sorts of clients,
there is no product exist that may encompass all client demands. For every
organisation, the market assortment procedure include to segment, target and
position. Market segmentation is the process of dividing the total market into groups,
or segments, consisting of people or organizations with relatively similar product
needs. The purpose is to enable a marketer to design a marketing mix that more
precisely matches the needs of customers in the selected market segment (William M
Pride 2007). Toyota s segmentation and target market is directed by its beliefs of
Right Car in the Right place
Toyota has segmented its customer on the basis of income, gender, lifestyle and so
on, its car are designed to attract the customers on the basis of way of life, buyers
approach. Basically company uses demographic, psychographic and behavioral
strategy of segmentation to divide market place. In demographic segmentation
Toyota has targeted people of upper middle category, family size, and high income
group. The Toyota Camry is the example specially designed and segmented for those
who have better purchasing power. The Camry has built a substantial reputation in
Australia as it secures nations favorite mid sized family car. Toyota has targeted from

Religion Is Not A Single Term
A term or more even a specific aspect in life, which is believed to be existent during
the start of the world and hopefully will never be extinct is, Religion. How, why
and where exactly religion formed, is a question that is universal, meaning many
different religions have a variety of stories for these answers. The true definition
of religion cannot be stated in one sentence. It is more of a question based an
individual s belief toward his/her religion. However, the basic ideology of religion
is the belief in sacred objects such as Gods and supernatural beings. These beliefs
are not just simply a belief. It is a belief that gives faithful worshippers answers to a
certain extent of the true meaning of the sentient beings existence. There are a
variety of different religions that exist in today s world, hence the reason why
Religion is not a single term. However, the following paper will only focus on
Buddhist religion. Buddhismis said to have existed for more than 2,500 years, which
surrounds a variety of beliefs, traditions and practices. All of which gives sentiment
beings the true meaning and purpose of life. Particularly about death, rebirth and
suffering (Strong 2008). Buddhism is based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama,
who is also known as the Buddha. Siddhartha Gautama is considered the Buddha
because he has attainted complete unsurpassed enlightenment under the Bodhi tree at
the age of 35 through extreme meditation (Strong, 2008). The major schools, which
Comparing Protestantism And Roman Catholicism
Not only does a religion revolve around its beliefs, but also its traditions. Two
religions may be looked at as ultimately the same because the beliefs are very similar.
The reason as to why such similar religions are regarded differently, is due to the
difference of traditions of each religion. Protestantism and Roman Catholicism are
examples that share many of the same Christian beliefs but have different traditions.
As previously mentioned, both Roman Catholicism and Protestantism are similar in
some ways. Both are two of the largest religions that exist today. Both being one of
the three branches of Christianity, they have the same roots. An example of these
common beliefs is the distinction of Heaven and Hell. Those who sin... Show more

In addition, Catholics believe in purgatory which is a state of preparation before
entering Heaven, whereas Protestants do not.
Another major difference is the status of a Pope. In Roman Catholicism, the Pope is
the head of the church and carries down tradition of Roman Catholicism. The Pope
is allowed to speak on behalf of God and has authority of the Church. Protestants
believe that no one person can be the head of the Church. They believe nobody can
speak on behalf of God except for the Bible and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, Christ
will always be the head of the Church. Protestant churches may have a pastor who
serves to teach the teachings of the Bible but cannot make bold decisions on behalf of
the Church. Lastly, a major component that distinguishes Roman Catholicism and
Protestantism is how to be on the side of God. Protestants believe that as long as you
believe in Jesus Christ, you have established a connection with God and can reach
Heaven. Catholics believe all other religions are false. As a result, Catholics
believe that followers must take part in holy acts such as holy orders and baptism
along with faith. Protestants however, believe just by believing in Christ will offer
justification by God. They believe sins were paid for when Jesus died on the cross
while Catholics believe in sharing the pain and working for
The Relationship Between Knowledge Management And...
Abstract
Knowledge is increasingly significant as a major source of wealth at all stages of an
economy. These knowledge assets collect from different options such as: Knowledge
based database, internal interface and users. This study tries to present the relation
between Knowledge Management and Knowledge Economy. An organization s
capability to quickly tap into wisdom gives it a competitive framework in the
marketplace. Knowledge economy is displacing capital, natural resources, and labor
as the basic economic resources. This Paper emphasizes the major principles of
knowledge of society and their consequences that give the better impact on the

The Laramie Project Play Analysis
Research for The Laramie Project, Moises Kaufman s nationally successful play,
began one month after a horrific crime occurred in Laramie, Wyoming. Members of
Kaufman s theatrical group, Tectonic Theater Project, travelled to the open ranges of
the West in order to gather in person interviews from Laramie s populace. The
purpose was to capture the emotions, reflections, and reactions of the people who
were most closely and personally associated to the crime the brutal beating and
subsequent death of a young gay college student named Matthew Shepard. This
incidence had become a national symbol of the struggle against intolerance and
brought attention to the lack of hate crime laws in the U.S. One of the most powerful
moments in the play was Dennis Shepard s Statement in which Matthew s father

this shows the public how abhorrent this crime was; it opens everyone s eyes about
the sad and long lasting impacts of this incidence. Mr. Shepard also wonders, What
would [Matthew] have become? How could he have changed his piece of the world
to make it better? He considered Matthew very strong in enduring all the intolerance
and as a martyr for change. Matthew made good come out of evil and shed light on
the worldwide struggle against intolerance, promoting people to fight for equality.
This is very effective because it creates a personal aspect to the incident and
illustrates how Matthew s death severely hurt his loved ones, emphasizing its gravity

Gift Exchange Day Momou Analysis
In the last third of the book HГ and her family start to build a life in Alabama,
acknowledging they no longer have a home in Saigon. I open Mother s white
handkerchief Inside lies my mouse bitten doll, her arms wrapped around the limp
fuzzy body of his chick. I tie it all into a bundle... I regret not having my doll as
soon as it sinks into the sea. (86) In this quote, the bundle is symbolic of the familys
attachment to Saigon. After the lowering of Saigon s flag, the family, recognising
they no longer have a home in Saigon, throw the bundle into the ocean. Later on, in
the poem Gift Exchange Day Pam gives HГ a doll. This on its own wouldn t stand

Assisted Reproductive Technology
The policy that will be mainly discussed is the state and federal laws toward the use
of Assisted Reproductive Technology(ART). The government should provide funding
to allow all states to pass infertility insurance laws. In order to give infertile couples a
chance to create their own family with a healthy baby.
First and foremost, an introduction for those who are not familiar with the topic
assisted reproductive technology. Loosely based on the definition provided by 1992
Fertility Clinic Success Rate and Certification Act, Assisted Reproductive
Technology (ART) is any laboratory procedures that involve removing eggs from a
woman s womb and combine them with a male sperms to make a zygote ( What is

When the woman is unable to carry the baby, the couple would normally consider
hiring a surrogate to do so. This method has helped plenty of heterosexual couples
and gay male couples to reach parenthood(Asch and Marmor par. 18). If we look at
the data, in 2001, only 571 surrogacy contracts were reported and less than 1% of
them knew about ARTs(Asch and Marmor par. 18). Only a very few states accept
gestational carrier arrangements. Many states in this country straight out ban the
use of surrogate mothers. Even states that allow surrogate motherhood would most
likely to refuse to approve the contract if any disagreements develop among the
parties(Asch and Marmor par. 18). As a result of the strict regulations on
surrogacy in the United States, many couples begin to seek help overseas(Asch
and Marmor par. 18). The president of PlanetHospital, located in California, sates
that they send about 100 couples to India every year for surrogacy. Many people
chose to do this also because it costs less. It costs about $50,000 to have a surrogate
mother in the United States, however, surrogacy in India can be easily managed
between $10,000 $12,000(Asch and Marmor par.

gametes for research and in fertility treatment of others receive remuneration for their
contribution beyond what is currently offered. This will be done by defining the
relevant concepts and associated terminology, discuss on the physical and emotional
impact that may occur, the different factors that may lead to exploitation and finally
considering what could be done to prevent exploitation.

The donation of mitochondrial is extremely important because 1 in 200 children in
the UK are born with the condition that can lead to disability and death and there is
no cure currently (Mitochondrial donation, 2014).
In the UK there is a shortage of donated gametes even though gamete donation is in
demand (Murray et al,2000) especially within the ethnic minority groups (Purewal et
al, 2005). More often gamete donation is more common within the men population
than it is for the women. This may be down to the simple fact that the technology and
methods for gamete donation for women are more intrusive and lengthy in
comparison to that of a man s. Some oocyte donor express positive attributions about
their donation experience (Jordan et al,2004) whilst others attribute some negative
perceptions mainly about the techniques used and that were involved (Jordan et
al,2004).
Using assisted reproductive technology has an emotional effect on the surrogate, it
could cause emotional distress on the surrogate when it comes to handing the baby
over (Kennell et al,2002). Prior to this this stage there would have been a biological
bond between the surrogate and the foetus during her pregnancy, pregnant women
produce a hormone known as the oxytocin hormone which helps prepare the
surrogate to have a natural maternal instinct. (FazliKhalaf et al , 2008)
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Villas
If you ve decided to look into independent villas in Chennai or are considering it,
then it will prove to be a great choice as Unitech has many new builds available.
Chennai is an ideal place to live for its many business opportunities, cultural activities,
and tourist industry. Villas are a suitable option whether you wantto invest, rent
commercially, or make one your permanent home. As with any large purchase or
househunting, there are a lot of factors in place which should be thought through
carefully as they will affect your decision. They can be confusing at times but these
are some of the main ones to think through before you start your villa hunting journey:
1.What Will You Use it For?
While villas may look the same, the intended use will affect which one you choose.
If it is for investment then you should study up on the investment history of the area
to see if it will pay off. If it is to rent out to tourists then ask if it is close enough to
the main tourist destinations and accessible from the airport and train station. If it is
for your own residential use then does it meet the standards and requirements you
need for your home, not just today but decades in the future?

New builds certainly look very nice and are attractive to new tenants as a blank
slate to do whatever you wish with. The downside is they are expensive as you are
literally building from the ground up and can be a risky investment. Older buildings
often have more of a charm to them and are usually cheaper but there is a risk there
too that there might be something wrong with the building from years of use that
will cost a lot to fix. An article in The Telegraph details some things that previous
tenants can leave behind, such as scratch marks, but even new properties can have a

An Effective Purpose For Special Interest Groups And...
1.) When there is a case that a particular interest group has interest in, comes before
the court, a group has the option to file an amicus curiae brief to better present the
groups breakdown of the case. Now the impact that amicus curiae can have is that it
brings policy perspective to the courts in a way that a party s own individual brief
may be unable to do so (White). The amicus curiaebriefs serve an effective purpose
of advocating for special interest groups and in public business affairs. There are
circumstances in which these types of briefs could be needed to represent a client
more effectively, such as when appearing before the United StatesSupreme Court
(White). A group will utilize the amicus brief as a way to lobby the courts. These
briefs serve a purpose of advising the court in terms of policy ramifications and
problems from a particular interest group s stance, all while guiding the court to a
fair and impartial decision. The amicus serves the role for an advocate, but it is
more effective if not acting in self interest, but rather as means to serve others.
Groups that try to sway the decision making of the Supreme Court have been
utilizing amicus briefs more often as a tool of the court (Witte). Winning in the
courts can be seen as a game of chess. Interest groups know the game as well as
anybody in the system. The amicus curiae briefs allow for these special groups to
play the game more effectively and is, in a sense, another tool at their disposal

The ways and reasons land mines are used has changed dramatically since WW1.
What was once considered to be cutting edge defensive technology has turned into
an offensive tactical device and extremist s tool to wreak havoc on an enemy or
marginalized population. Connecting the history of landmines to the conflicts we
have discussed in this class will take several steps. The first part of this paper will
discuss the history of landmines, how they are detonated, and the different types of
landmines. The next section looks at the ways landmines are used defensively in war
time, and as an offensive weapon in past wars and by current day extremists. The
third section examines examples of the devastation that ... Show more content on

Similarities Between Confucianism And Ancient China
Religious and political ideas have served as the fundamental foundation to many early
civilizations and settlements and Ancient China is no exception. The texts of the Ta
HsГјeh and the Chung Yung clearly details some ideas and concepts of early
Confucianism in Ancient China. These early Confucian ideas and concepts from the
two texts, in many ways reflect the political, intellectual, and social context of ancient
China. Although Confucianismis no long as prominent as it was during the times of
ancient China, it is important to understand these concepts and how later Chinese
Dynasty adopted it. Confucianism has developed and influenced modern China and
also other East Asian cultures, customs, and heritages. The origins of Confucianism
are often disputed among historians and philosophers and many believe the myth of
Confucius developing Confucianism all in his lonesome. Confucius was born in the
historical state of Lu at a time when Zhou Dynastic power was crumbling. The Zhou
Dynastyhas started to lose control and Ancient China erupted into a struggle for
power. Many ruling elites craved for unification thus granting them total control of
the Zhou household, known as the Warring States Period. Confucius believed the
founders of the Zhou Dynasty had established a well developed government and
principled actions, but he only kept seeing war and greed among the rivaling states
around him, grasping for leadership and power. As the Spring Autumn Periods of the

Essay On The Hunger Games

  • 1. Essay On The Hunger Games Crafting an essay on the topic of "The Hunger Games" can be both intriguing and challenging. On one hand, the novel presents a rich tapestry of themes, characters, and social commentary that provide ample material for analysis. On the other hand, the depth and complexity of the narrative demand a careful and thoughtful exploration to do justice to the nuances within Suzanne Collins' work. One of the difficulties lies in navigating the dystopian world of Panem, deciphering its intricacies, and understanding the symbolism embedded in the Hunger Games themselves. The story's exploration of power, survival, and rebellion against oppressive systems adds another layer of complexity. Analyzing the characters, from the resilient Katniss Everdeen to the enigmatic President Snow, requires a keen understanding of their motivations and roles within the narrative. Furthermore, addressing the social and political allegories within the novel demands a nuanced approach. Delving into the critique of reality television, examining the socio-economic disparities, and deciphering the effects of authoritarian rule on society necessitate a thorough examination of the text and a grasp of broader cultural contexts. Maintaining a balance between summarizing the plot and providing insightful analysis poses yet another challenge. Striking this balance is crucial to ensure that the essay is not merely a retelling of events but an exploration of the deeper layers and messages woven into the fabric of "The Hunger Games." In conclusion, writing an essay on "The Hunger Games" requires a careful and thoughtful approach. It demands an in-depth understanding of the novel's themes, characters, and socio- political commentary. However, the challenge is not insurmountable, and with a focused and analytical mindset, one can unravel the complexities of the narrative. Essay On The Hunger Games Essay On The Hunger Games
  • 2. Leadership Of The Coast Guard 1.Leadership in the Coast Guard is the process of guiding and inspiring others toward closer adherence to the core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. Leadership is a set of behaviors rather than just a set of ideals. Ideals are good, but ideals without the corresponding behaviors are useless. The best way to guide others is to show by example; a true leader not only speaks out in favor of the corevalues, but also exhibits them in their daily life. 2.Although leadership traits can be studied from textbooks, the best way to adopt good leadership traits is to follow an example of positive leadership. In my career, I ve been very fortunate to have had numerous positive role models on which to model by own behavior after. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fortunately, another member (also just a non rate fireman, also new to the unit), finally stepped forward and challenged the behavior of several more senior members. Although the situation got tense for a few moments, the end result was that the lack of respect towards our struggling shipmate ended. The courage of Fireman Neil C. had a profound impact on me. Not only did it put an end to the disrespectful behavior towards a shipmate, but now, 24 years later, it still has an impact on me, as it provides me an example of how I should behave. b.Later, at this same duty station, as a new EM3, I was anxious to prove myself as a competent electrician. However, during my first month on the job, when installing a replacement pump motor, I carelessly wired it incorrectly, which resulted in the windings of the brand new, extremely expensive motor burning out approximately five minutes after I installed it. I was horrified by this turn of events. I immediately realized my wiring mistake, but unfortunately I realized it about five minutes too late. I would have given anything to be able to turn back time by those five minutes so I could correct my error. I was scared to death. I didn t know how to tell my supervisor. Our engineering warrant was extremely demanding, and had just finished yelling at one of the MKs for accidently dropping a wrench into the bilge. I didn t know what
  • 3. Nuclear Power Of A Nuclear Plant A nuclear plant is a power station that generates electricity using nuclear energy by heat. Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is a disable nuclear power plant in Japan. It was first committed in 1971. An accident happened on the 11th March 2011 and high radioactive releases within a week has made huge damages and impact on the environment the population. Only two events like this have happened in the history. The other one was Chernobyl accident in April 1986. Nuclear plants work the same way as plants that burn oil or gas, which then boils water to produce steam that turns turbines and produce electricity. But the difference is that nuclear power plant do not burn anything like others do, instead, they use uranium 235. All these processes will be happening in a sealed environment, which in Japan was the Fukushima Daishi Nuclear Plant Station. All the disasters were started by an earthquake. The huge earthquakes then caused a 15 metre tsunami disabled the power supply and cooling of three Fukushima Daiichi reactors. As the tsunami wave keep on hitting all the pools, reactors and where the generating of heat takes place, all parts of the station have had huge losses and damages. All 4 units had lost power at 3.42 pm, almost an hour after the quake, when the entire site was flooded by the 15 metre tsunami. Eleven reactors at four nuclear power plants in the region were operating at the time and all shut down automatically when the quake hit. When the diesel generators
  • 4. Humanistic Perspective Case Study The behavioral perspective focuses only on observable behavior. From this point of view, Jake has anxiety because now he has to work hard in order to keep a good grade in the class. He might ve had a previous experience where he had to work hard in a class that ended pretty bad, so now he associates a heavy workload with negative consequences, such as a failing grade. If Jake was treated using the behavioral approach, they would condition him to associate studying and working hard with positive consequences instead of with negative consequences. Psychologists today view the behavioral perspective as an important constituent to other modern perspectives. The humanistic perspective emphasizes the human potential and the fact that people have free will. From this perspective, Jake has anxiety because before this class, he was always doing the best that he could and reaching his full potential, and now he fears that since the class is harder than the rest of the classes he s ever taken, then he will not reach his full potential in this class. If Jake was treated using the humanistic approach, they will make him realize that he has the freedom to choose their own path, and that he has control over his own life. Today, psychologists use the humanistic perspective as a form of psychotherapy that focuses on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this point of view, Jake has anxiety either from his environment or because of genetics. There is something wrong in his amygdala and hippocampus, and it causes him to worry about every little thing. If Jake was treated using the cognitive approach, they would put him on anxiety medication. For example, they would probably make him take Xanax or Valium. Today, the cognitive perspective is constantly being improved by technology that can show the structure and activity of the living brain, such as the MRI and PET
  • 5. Corruption Of Prisoners In Plato s Arguments Of Democracy In a dark cave there are prisoners, restricted to seeing what shadows puppeteers cast upon the stone screen in front of them. This timeless story by Plato, used as a metaphor for those that are, to the philosopher Plato, lowbrows, and have no desire to question what is around them and find the truth and embrace ignorance. I have experienced this first hand, being an exemplification of what it means to not question what I have faith in, or seek more. However, I have also experienced what it is to be the prisonerthat turns his head, as well as the prisoner that turns the other cheek. When Plato was writing this dialogue, his goal was to show those in the metaphorical cave, how daft and short sided he believes them to be. When Plato articulates the puppeteers through the voice of Socrates, he says, ...and between the fire and the prisoners there is a raised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently, I believe our nation s voters are in a bad state, to quote Winston Churchill, The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter. I believe you can apply these words to show how corrupt the average voter is. Today, the prisoners in the cave are those that vote according to social standards, and support whatever is generally accepted as just. Those that turn their heads are those that vote and mold their beliefs to reflect the word of God through Jesus Christ. 11 score and 19 years ago, the founding fathers turned their heads from the Europe and created a great nation following these beliefs. As said by Os Guinness, Beyond any question, the way the American founders consistently linked faith and freedom, republicanism and religion, was not only deliberate and thoughtful, it was also surprising and anything but routine. When Americans as a whole return to this, democracy will be
  • 6. Essay on The Science of the Sexes Schopenhauer, the German pessimist philosopher, wrote in 1851 that only a man overcome by his sexual impulses could have given the name of the fair sex to that undersized, narrow shouldered, broad hipped and short legged race. Despite the many differences between the sexes, from average weight and height to body fat, there has been an assumption that these are only skin deep and that intellect is essentially the same. The recent publications of the latest in a growing body of research demonstrate that our brains are different too and fuel the fear that science may provide an antidote to demands for women s emancipation: if male dominance is all the nature s fault, then patriarchy is inevitable. Feminist can, however, breathe a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Residing on the male Y chromosome, the gene switches on a cascade of genes that make testicles. These in turn bathe the body in testosterone. Many of the differences in male and female rodent behaviour are testosterone derived, said Prof Goodfellow. If you give a female rat a short burst of testosterone shortly after birth you end up with a female that demonstrates male behaviour. But there is a lot of argument about whether a similar thing occurs in humans. Five years ago, Anne Moir and David Jessel claimed in the book BrainSex that to believe the sexes are the same is to build a society based on a biological and scientific lie. There are indeed many documented differences between the sexes in humans, rats and guinea pigs. However, the best known are in deep regions that control sexual behaviour, a find that is hardly surprising. It was only last year that scientists announced they had found differences in the thin rind on the surface of the brain responsible for higher intellectual abilities. Sandra Witelson, of McMaster University, told the US Society of Neuroscience that women had 11 percent more brain cells in the regions near the temples, one crucial for understanding language in the left hemisphere, and for recognizing melodies and tonal qualities in speech in the right. This apparently dovetails with the claim of Moir and Jessel that, as a result of different levels of exposure to sex hormone at birth, brains work along different lines

  • 8. Tess Of The DUrbervilles Character Analysis So, officer please, that s the man who s destroyed my existence. Yeah, he begged and he screamed just like I did. And, for this, I was willing to die. It was all I could do to survive. These words are from the song Tess timony by Ice Nine Kills. The song is based on the book Tess of the D urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. It tells the story of Tess Durbeyfield s survival after being raped by her wealthy, newly found cousin, Alec D urberville. The story ends in the inevitable murder of Alec by Tess and her execution. This book has brought me much comfort during the nights when I find it hard to breathe out of the pain of the memory of my own tragedy. It helps me survive. It helps me suppress all of that agony. Sometimes, you just have to learn to bury things to the point of never resurfacing. Everyone has experiences they wish to conceal. To be completely honest, this is only one of my many tragedies that I am willing to share. I will start with my relationship with him. I am a person with the tendency to try to fix people, even when some people who are messed up beyond all repair. He was an addict with mommy issues and a criminal record. Do you see why I felt the need to fix him? But, I had no idea what I was getting into. Everyone warned me, this is true. And there were many signs that should have drove me away. Yes, he was my boyfriend. I thoughtI loved him, but it was only pity. And many would say I asked for it by just being with him. No one deserves it. No one asks

Through their own water right, up to 4,900 AF/y of surface water maybe diverted from Lake Mendocino from November 1 to April 30 when the flow at the confluence of the East Fork and West Fork of the Russian River is above 150 cfs and the storage in Lake Mendocino is greater than 72,000 AF (Agency). • 11. Opal Mining Of Australi The Mining Capital Of The World Opal Mining in Australia Australia contains a lot of opal, especially in South Australia producing an estimated 95 97% of the world s opal supply. All of the opal mines in Australia are located in the Artesian Basin which contains many mining towns such as Lightning Ridge, Andamooka, White Cliffs and Coober Pedy, which has been called the mining capital of the world. All of these towns are situated in Australia s outback, the land mostly consisting of barren dry rock and dirt. But hiding in the endless dusty land and rocks are masses of Opal. Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge, and Andamooka are home to many Opal mines, most of which are underground mines. The whole of Coober Pedy has many underground mines for opals extending out 40kms around the town with over 200,000 mine shafts which can be up to 27m deep. Andamooka another prominent mining town has 52km2 of mines both underground and open mines, three to ten meters deep into the seabed. In all of these rural mining towns there is not that much infrastructure due to the small populations and most residents will either be in the mining or tourism industry. This is good for mining as more of the land is able to use to mine the opals. In Coober Pedy a lot of residents live in underground homes called dugouts because of the harsh hot weather in Coober Pedy. The nation s industrial sector remained the largest in the world, gasoline cars were introduced, telephones were used, and cities were growing. Wealth could be attained, and was seen as a tangible goal. With the many different theories and revolutions endured throughout the nineteenth century, it was certainly an exciting time to be alive; but only if you were of Aryan race in the upper middle class. Social Darwinism is a term and social theory formed in the late nineteenth century to describe the idea that humans compete in a struggle for existence. This competition is also linked to Charles Darwins theory of natural selection, resulting in survival of the fittest. The misapplied social term of social Darwinism is typically used in regards to the belief that wealthy Anglo Saxon s are biologically racially superior. Many people correlate the social Darwinist theory to the heightened rationalization of imperialism, racism, and capitalism, and the term typically has a negative connotation due to the vague understanding of it being attributed to a rejection of social responsibility and compassion. Active Social Darwinist s believe that government should not aid or interfere with societal human competition by attempting to regulate the economy or contributing to government funded programs. The laissez faire political idea is a direct reflection of a hands off capitalist society.

Although these changes didn t last long, the revolutions did prove to both the governments and revolutionaries that the people had the power to undermine the government in order to bring about reform and create the policies of socialism and liberalism. This movement was led by Giuseppe Mazzini, who, in 1832, started Young Italy, which was a patriotic society that advocated and was ready to fight for the unification of Italy if necessary. In 1848, revolts broke out in several Italian states. These revolts forced the leaders to establish the constitutions of the revolutionaries. In Sardinia, King Charles Albert was one who voluntarily granted a new constitution to his people. However, these strides in progress were soon crushed and repressed when in came the Austrian army. Charles tried to drive the Austrians out of north Italy, but was defeated at Custoza in 1848 and Novara in 1849 and was abdicated. Revolutions elsewhere were suppressed, including one in Rome, where Mazzini had formed a short lived republic. The movement for the unification of Italy was temporarily shut off until 1859. The wave of revolt also swept across the states of the German Confederation. In the spring of 1848, riots broke out as German people sought freedom from their repressive rulers. There are a plethora of RCS and VCS available from which to choose. Within the field of computer programming and software design, the use of RCS or VCS is a vital best practice, especially in development environments with many programmers, developers, engineers, administrators, and managers. However, RCS or VCS can and should be used wherever there are larger groups of CSCW regardless of the domain. Henceforth, RCS and VCS shall be referred to as any generic revision or version control system, abbreviated as RVCS. The significance of evaluating various RVCS becomes apparent by demonstrating and illustrating their importance. Such evaluation is then used to produce or derive guidelines that streamline the selection of the RVCS for a particular CSCW group. WHAT EXACTLY IS RVCS? One way to begin operationally defining RVCS is with the simple concept of artifacts and deliverables produced, created, developed or engineered by the CSCW group. The sharing of such artifacts is essential in the operations of the CSCW group (Schmidt, et. al., 2015). Typically, such modern day artifacts or deliverables consist of documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, tables, graphs, reports, presentations, and other multimedia. In the domain of computer

Fluid Resuscitation in Burn Patients Fluid resuscitation protocols and interventions have established guidelines for nursing care of burn patients in hospital settings. Although these protocols aid the nurse in making treatment decisions, the nurse must first understand the fluid pathophysiology of burns, the different fluid alternatives, the amount of fluid volume infusions allowed and their effects within the patient s body, as well as, any complications related to fluid resuscitation for burn patients. In addition, fluid resuscitation should be carefully and diligently monitored to ensure the main goal of therapy which is to attain adequate tissue perfusion while minimizing patient s complications. More often gamete donation is more common within the men population than it is for the women. This may be down to the simple fact that the technology and methods for gamete donation for women are more intrusive and lengthy in comparison to that of a man s. Some oocyte donor express positive attributions about their donation experience (Jordan et al,2004) whilst others attribute some negative perceptions mainly about the techniques used and that were involved (Jordan et al,2004). Using assisted reproductive technology has an emotional effect on the surrogate, it could cause emotional distress on the surrogate when it comes to handing the baby over (Kennell et al,2002). Prior to this this stage there would have been a biological bond between the surrogate and the foetus during her pregnancy, pregnant women produce a hormone known as the oxytocin hormone which helps prepare the surrogate to have a natural maternal instinct. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Villas If you ve decided to look into independent villas in Chennai or are considering it, then it will prove to be a great choice as Unitech has many new builds available. Chennai is an ideal place to live for its many business opportunities, cultural activities, and tourist industry. Villas are a suitable option whether you wantto invest, rent commercially, or make one your permanent home. As with any large purchase or househunting, there are a lot of factors in place which should be thought through carefully as they will affect your decision. They can be confusing at times but these are some of the main ones to think through before you start your villa hunting journey: 1.What Will You Use it For? While villas may look the same, the intended use will affect which one you choose. If it is for investment then you should study up on the investment history of the area to see if it will pay off. If it is to rent out to tourists then ask if it is close enough to the main tourist destinations and accessible from the airport and train station. If it is for your own residential use then does it meet the standards and requirements you need for your home, not just today but decades in the future? 2.What are the Investment Risks and Benefits? If you are buying for investment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... New builds certainly look very nice and are attractive to new tenants as a blank slate to do whatever you wish with. The downside is they are expensive as you are literally building from the ground up and can be a risky investment. Older buildings often have more of a charm to them and are usually cheaper but there is a risk there too that there might be something wrong with the building from years of use that will cost a lot to fix. An article in The Telegraph details some things that previous tenants can leave behind, such as scratch marks, but even new properties can have a snag list of up to 100 items per
  • 37. An Effective Purpose For Special Interest Groups And... 1.) When there is a case that a particular interest group has interest in, comes before the court, a group has the option to file an amicus curiae brief to better present the groups breakdown of the case. Now the impact that amicus curiae can have is that it brings policy perspective to the courts in a way that a party s own individual brief may be unable to do so (White). The amicus curiaebriefs serve an effective purpose of advocating for special interest groups and in public business affairs. There are circumstances in which these types of briefs could be needed to represent a client more effectively, such as when appearing before the United StatesSupreme Court (White). A group will utilize the amicus brief as a way to lobby the courts. These briefs serve a purpose of advising the court in terms of policy ramifications and problems from a particular interest group s stance, all while guiding the court to a fair and impartial decision. The amicus serves the role for an advocate, but it is more effective if not acting in self interest, but rather as means to serve others. Groups that try to sway the decision making of the Supreme Court have been utilizing amicus briefs more often as a tool of the court (Witte). Winning in the courts can be seen as a game of chess. Interest groups know the game as well as anybody in the system. The amicus curiae briefs allow for these special groups to play the game more effectively and is, in a sense, another tool at their disposal
  • 38. Ww1 Landmine Research Paper Jennifer Womble POLS 486 Dr. Switky The ways and reasons land mines are used has changed dramatically since WW1. What was once considered to be cutting edge defensive technology has turned into an offensive tactical device and extremist s tool to wreak havoc on an enemy or marginalized population. Connecting the history of landmines to the conflicts we have discussed in this class will take several steps. The first part of this paper will discuss the history of landmines, how they are detonated, and the different types of landmines. The next section looks at the ways landmines are used defensively in war time, and as an offensive weapon in past wars and by current day extremists. The third section examines examples of the devastation that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a buffer area between North Korea and South Korea. It is over 150 miles long and about two and a half miles wide. Large numbers of troop s form both nations are stationed at the DMZ to guard against potential aggression from the other side. The DMZ contains approximately 1 million land mines. The Pentagon argues land mines are a central element of South Koreas defense against a possible North Korea invasion. Advocates of signing the treaty believe that the mines are simply an outdated relic left from the Cold War, stating North Korea has artillery that eliminates the need for a land invasion. Although the US has not signed the treaty, it remains the largest single donor to the cause of land mine decontamination and medical care for victims, providing more than $2.3 billion since 1993 for conventional weapons destruction programs in other countries

This would decrease the [FeВівЃє] in the system. Equilibrium will shift left to counteract the change and the solution becomes lighter yellow in colour. 3) Cooling the contents decreases the amount of heat in the system. Equilibrium will shift to the left causing the solution to become light red. 4) Heating favours endothermic reactions. As the reactant Co(Hв‚‚O)₆²⁺ was heated, the solution changed from light red to dark purple. This suggests that the equilibrium shifted right. Therefore, the forward reaction is endothermic. 5) Adding NaCl would increase [ClвЃ»]. This will cause equilibrium to shift right and the solution would become dark purple. 7) If you add HCl, you are increasing the [HвЃє] in the system. • 41. Similarities Between Confucianism And Ancient China Religious and political ideas have served as the fundamental foundation to many early civilizations and settlements and Ancient China is no exception. The texts of the Ta HsГјeh and the Chung Yung clearly details some ideas and concepts of early Confucianism in Ancient China. These early Confucian ideas and concepts from the two texts, in many ways reflect the political, intellectual, and social context of ancient China. Although Confucianismis no long as prominent as it was during the times of ancient China, it is important to understand these concepts and how later Chinese Dynasty adopted it. Confucianism has developed and influenced modern China and also other East Asian cultures, customs, and heritages. The origins of Confucianism are often disputed among historians and philosophers and many believe the myth of Confucius developing Confucianism all in his lonesome. Confucius was born in the historical state of Lu at a time when Zhou Dynastic power was crumbling. The Zhou Dynastyhas started to lose control and Ancient China erupted into a struggle for power. Many ruling elites craved for unification thus granting them total control of the Zhou household, known as the Warring States Period. Confucius believed the founders of the Zhou Dynasty had established a well developed government and principled actions, but he only kept seeing war and greed among the rivaling states around him, grasping for leadership and power. As the Spring Autumn Periods of the Zhou Dynasty

Going door to door, Halsey and his team sold a breakfast food known as Granola (made of oats, maize, wheat and rye) and another known as Granose (Weet Bix s unsweetened advocate) as healthy alternatives to the popular insubstantial and fatty foods of that time. Not long after, Halsey transferred the business to a larger premises in Cooranbong, New South Wales, installing bake house equipment into a large building that had previously been used as a sawmill.
