2. We asked students in our class to watch our
documentary and then fill out a feedback
questionnaire, to get their opinions on what we
did well and what could possibly be improved
if we were to do our documentary again. As
our documentary is aimed at students, we felt
that this feedback would be relevant because
our class comes under our target audience.
These are the results we found.
3. Does our opening show the
subject of our documentary well?
For this question we found that the majority of people strongly agreed that our
opening shot displayed the subject of our documentary effectively. The rest
also agreed, which tells us that our opening was indeed relevant and effective.

4. Does the ‘switch’ scene grab your
attention?
The aim of our first scene – the ‘switch’ scene – was to grab the audiences
attention and introduce the topic. We found that, whilst the majority of the class
either agreed or disagreed that it served it’s purpose, a large proportion said
that it only sort of grabbed their attention. This informs us that, if we were to do
the documentary again, we would have to ensure that the scene is more
attention grabbing.

5. Does the music fits the
documentary genre?
One of the key features of our documentary was the music, as we has music
playing throughout. We felt that the music we chose fit the mood of our
documentary as it changed with the scenes. The feedback we received
confirmed that we were correct as everyone either agreed or strongly agreed
that the music fit.

6. Did we represent both genders
equally?
As we were aiming the documentary at both genders, we attempted to
represent both genders. The majority of the class believed we did, however,
one person believed we didn’t and another thought we only ‘sort of’
represented them equally. This result is understandable as the topic is
usually more spoken about among females and so it may have come across to
some as a not representing the male opinion as much.

7. What did you think of the on
screen presenter?
One large aspect of our documentary was our on screen presenter. We felt
that having an on screen presenter may give the audience a familiar figure
to guide them through the subject. We found that we received all positive
feedback on our onscreen presenter with the majority of the class agreeing
that he was good, confident and clear.

8. Is our sound consistent
throughout?
Sound was a very important aspect of our documentary. One thing we
found from our feedback is that not a lot of the class thought our sound
was consistent. This tells us that, if we were to redo our documentary, we
would have to put more focus into keeping consistency in the sound
throughout the entire documentary.

9. Did we approach students in the
right way and effectively?
As we were receiving feedback from our target audience, we asked if they
thought we were successful in approaching students. The majority agreed or
strongly agreed that we did this well, however one person did disagree. If
we were to create our documentary again, we would have to further research
ways in which we should approach students and leave an effect.

10. Has our documentary make you
think about your lifestyle?
One thing we wished to achieve with this documentary is making students
think about their own lifestyles. However, results from our questionnaire
found that a lot of the class didn’t think about their own lifestyle and the
possibility of changing it, taking the negotiated reading that they
understand the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle, but aren’t willing to
give up one themselves.

11. Are our cuts in the right places
and clean?
Editing was one of the major features of our documentary and, in order to
allow it to flow properly, we needed to ensure that our cuts were relevant.
The class questionnaire found that everyone either agreed or strongly
agreed that our editing choices were correct and therefore our
documentary was able to flow as planned.

12. Did we use appropriate places
for background footage,
interviews, etc?
Another aspect of our documentary that we focused on was getting the
correct locations for footage. We felt that everywhere we filmed was
relevant and appropriate to the information being provided or the interview
taking place. The entire class either agreed or strongly agreed, showing
that we chose the correct places to film.

agreed or strongly agreed that they believe that the documentary fits its
purpose of making students think about their lifestyle.

14. Why do you think this is?
Following on from the previous question, we asked why they thought
that the documentary fits its purpose. The main responses told us that it
was due to the relevance of the information given or the type of
information given.
Why do you think this is?

Looks at things relevant to

topic
15. Conclusion
To conclude, the results of the feedback
questionnaire show that, overall, our
documentary was approved by students
and they felt it served its purpose.
However, there are a few things that have
been brought to our attention that would
be improved if we were to do our
documentary again.
